A family meal after a visit to Loiusburg went over very well! The kids options were delicious but for the price it would have been nice to have a drink or dessert included. The haddock burger and chippers were great. The burger was a touch overdone but the flavours were awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server was very knowledgeable and honest. Thanks for the good food experience!

Atmosphere was good, great beer selection, good was decent. We had the mussels and they were very good. The physical building needs some serious maintenance, but it seems like there is not a lot to choose from in this town. Very friendly service.

Had a fantastic time here for lunch, our server Paulette was friendly & great, the food was excellent! We had the veggie wrap with house made hummas and homemade turkey soup and the seafood chowder with tea busicut. Both very tasty. The carrot cake was out of this world delicious. Will be recommending this place to people going to Louisburg. The manager came out to make sure everything was good and let us know some future plans for the business. I hope he does well! Support local!

Nice place, mar'd by poor service when busy. If you're in a hurry and they're busy, don't bother. E.g., our last visit, food took an hour, and mains arrived mere minutes after soup starters...

If you are in Louisburg we suggest you try this quaint restaurant. I truly enjoyed their sea food lasagna. Paulette, our server was very friendly and we enjoyed her personalised service. The blueberry crumble was delicious. We highly recommend.

This an excellent cafe. A very nice menu and the food was terrific. Nice selection of beers. The owner is great, had advice about not just the menu and beer but the also the area. Great person. Fish and chips were great,. Also has a neat bar upstairs.

Our server was very polite and helpful. The hot turkey sandwich I had wasn't quite what I was hoping for but my group all loved their meals. A good place for even large groups. (they easily accommodated our six and then another group of twelve that came in. The main seating area is quite nice. I noticed the owner responds to Google reviews, which in my mind demonstrates a lot of care in the business.

Lobster roll for $14 was a ripoff. One tiny scoop of shredded lobster (no chunks) on a tiny bun. Honesty, not even sure it was lobster. Should have known it was a tourist ripoff when we saw it on a placard outside but not in menu. If u eat here, maybe other food would be ok, but I’ll never come back or recommend it because I think ripoffs like this are unethical.

This restaurant was pretty crummy. For the $40 I paid for a steak and salad, I expected a far better meal. The steak was drastically overcooked and nothing else was really good. Just a mediocre meal for a gouging price. I'm giving two stars because at least the service was good.

I had the club with house chips, and I gota say, when I want a club, this is what I imagine a club being. Definitely recommend it. Also, get the cheese bread, you won't regret it.

My wife and I had excellent seafood meal's. I am generally not a big fan of fish, but my wife had such a good experience with haddock in the area, I had to try it. It was excellent, among the best fish I gave eaten. He scallops were excellent as well. For dessert we made a special request they were able to accommodate and the blueberry pie with local wild blueberries was just right. Service was attentive and thus was an overall very nice vacation experience

Inedible. Ordered the veggie burger. So hard, dry and overcooked. Bun was stale. The chips that came with were drenched in oil, saltless and inedible. My husband's 22 dollar steak, which he ordered med rare, came out looking like a piece of leather. He could barely cut it with the knife provided. When he told the server, another steak was put on. Came out med well. The meat was so thin it should have only taken minutes to achieve med rare. Our companion had the salmon...overcooked. Honestly surprised as the website looks promising, however the menu was not the same online as in restaurant. Worst meal I've ever paid 40+ dollars for. No word of compensation from the wait staff for improperly cooked food, but she was pretty sour when she didn't get a tip. This place will be shut down soon. Very few good choices for actual fine dining in this community. Someone with some actual culinary skills needs to open a restaurant here and show these people what food is supposed to taste like. I honestly hope we don't get sick from what little we did consume. Not only was the food disgusting, but the place smelled bad and was dirty. Our fabric placemats were stained with food. Overall, I would give this place a zero score.

I'm reminded of my high school's grading system. A "C" was passing. You had the basic understanding but didn't get all that you could have. The basics are here: food, drinks, friendly service. What you miss are the fine points such as: level table tops, a burger cooked any way except well done, a glass with your bottle of Pepsi, anyone caring whether the screen door is stuck open or closed. If you are hungry, this is the "any port" in the storm!

The service was a bit slow... but they made up for it in indifference. My salmon was terrible, accompanied by overcooked vegetables and was definitely not in keeping with the price. When some melted margarine spilled on my pants, I asked for a wet cloth and I was given a handful of moist towelettes. Overall bad experience!

Over the moon at how new Management is handing all aspects of the restaurant this season. I have been here many times so far for both lunch and dinner, and both menus have options for everyone. Great staff, great food, and definitely one of my go-to spots on the island. Try their home baked desserts - you wont be disappointed!!

Don't waste your time here, my family wait an hour for our orders which all show on the menu. The waitress kept telling us will be ready in5 mins. At the end we found out they didn't make anything at all. Busy is not excuse, at least you can make salad to keep us stay, and why people came behind us got their food and finished, we still waiting my dam order...

Lacks vegan options other than salad. Bread used for veggie burger has eggs. That being said vegan options are quite limited in this town. My Girlfriend had chowder that was more like a soup compared to the great thick version she had at Lobster Kettle. Also we stood around waiting for awhile before any hostesses even acknowledged us.

Disappointed in this restaurant. On Sunday August 5, we went to Louisbourg just for supper at the Grubstake, we were greeted at the door by a waitress who advised us they were closing because the had no food and they were short staffed that night. This was at 6 pm in the evening. We even called before we went out to Louisbourg and the message on the phone said they were opened until 9 pm.
