Fish is amazing! We order halibut. I would give this place a 5 star rating if fries were better. Quantity is great but too dark and could taste better. Less with better quality would be better. Great service.

Just ordered from this place today, the amount of food is excellent and the staff are wonderful. The food was delicious and we all had a little extra for the next day. I do not live in london but I will be coming back for this again!

nice fresh and crisp fries and fish. Order came in a traditional English-style ‘newspaper’ (clean) with a baggie that held the coleslaw and sauces. I would probably come much more often if the tartar sauce was homemade, or not even that, just a different brand, but that’s completely down to my preferences.

Excellent fish! Like the fish and chips place I used to go when I was a kid. We needed a real fish and chip place in London. The halibut has an awesome batter and is delicious. I will be going back for a long time to come!

Went there one last time before I left London Ontario for good. Big woman in there I'm sure is passing off haddock for halibut. Fish was not tasty like halibut should be. And the woman is just miserable.

One drive by there cute little shop and you will hit the brakes.. The smell coming out of The Take Out Fish shop hits your nose and the foot just goes down. Best fish and chips for the price.

Too expensive and too many fries!! You get a funnel full of warm dry fries and a small piece of fish. I was surprised at how disappointed eating at this place was. We had enough fries to feed an army but the fish was lacking in size as well as quality. We ordered mushrooms and they put them at the bottom of the bag... ya all 7 pieces of mushroom that was very expensive was a small pile of mess!! All the mushrooms were soggy and out of their coating mushed to the bottom of the bag. No one could eat them. Big waste of $7 won’t try this place again. I don’t need potatoes in my diet that bad.

My Italian wife likes to pick up Fish and Chips on Fridays and go eat with her mother and always raved about how good the Fish and Chips were so I asked her to grab me an order to try. I can't remember having better Fish and Chips. I actually had a craving today and dropped in and watched as the lady patted dry my filet and dipped it in the fresh batter and cooked it too perfection. Fries are great too.

Some reviews I read beforehand complained about too many french fries. Who complains about getting too much food??? There were so many delicious fries and a big ol' tub of gravy to go with it!!! Fantastic!! We ordered the family haddock and it was great. A family of four will not go hungry with this dinner combo. It was very tasty. My only complaint is that it did not come with lemon wedges which is a must have to eat battered fish for me. We had to run to the store and buy one before eating. Otherwise great meal for a reasonable price!

The quality of the food was great. Haven’t had good Ole fish and chips in a long time. HOWEVER, we wanted FISH and chips NOT CHIPS and fish. For about $15.00 you get a small piece of fish with enough fries to feed a family in each order. Then if you want a second piece of fish it’s almost an extra $10.00. So my rating is split, 5???? for quality, but 1???? for the overall value for the price they charge.

Great place. Hard to find decent fish and chips around, they give you huge honking pieces of fish and more fries then you can hope to eat. Well worth the money. If the owner is reading this please invest in those little tiny wooden forks, they just make everything taste a lot better I swear. Great employees as well.

If you're in the mood for fish and chips, you cannot go wrong buying from this place! The batter is light and fluffy, which gives the fish a delicious taste. It's not cheap, but doesn't taste like fast food either. And the tartar sauce that comes with the dish is old style, which enhances further the taste of the fish. Love it!

First order on new years eve..food was delivered hot and in a good time frame. It was so delicious. We had 2 piece cod and chips each. Good value for money. Nice thick pieces of fish. Will def order again and recommend! Using Skip the Dishes was also very efficient. ????

Cute place and good food. Well worth the money to go here. My only complaint is that staff is treated poorly as when I was here last during the hot summer surrounded by all these hot appliances they didnt even have air conditioning but had to resort to using one small fan for the entire building. I'm not over weight or unfit by any means but being in here for more than 5 minutes made it hard to breathe from the humidity alone. I cannot and do not want to imagine how they must have felt. Hope things are better now!

No more inferior Archie's, Olde London, Walkers ... Great halibut and chips at The Take Out!! Reasonably priced, great service, great food. For the next few weeks tho, better order online or by phone early if you want fish and chips for Friday dinner!! Their phone is not a land line but internet-based, so it may seem that they hang up on you when the lines get swamped. Keep trying.

It was a bit greasy but crispy as well and the fries are great to you can tell they cut them fresh they are not frozen french fries I found our new fish and chip place.

You get more than what you pay. Fish and chips are always expensive anywhere outta city, here its relatively cheaper, I like the home made style thick fries and the way they Give so much fries. I see some people complaint about extra fries ???? U want extra fish? How about u order extra fish, By now probably you know the fish sizes.

First time trying this fish and chip place here in London. I ordered two pieces of Haddock fish with an order chips to go with it. The two fish were average maybe bigger size that they tasted good. the fries were great they're kind of like the old fashioned homemade fries. But I got so many fries I can only eat a third of them and I still have quite a bit left over as you see in the containers. I think I got one of those like super large bags of fries you get from Costco that you can feed 10 people with. Overall everything was good.

You definitely want to get take out here. I’ve been looking for a go to fish and chips and place in London for quite some time, and now my search is over! Firstly, as the name suggests, it’s take out only, out of this tiny building located at a very busy street corner. They wrap the fish and chips in brown paper sheets, which to me is usually a good indication of a place that knows what they’re doing. It’s like a bouquet of fish and chips. Makes for a lovely gift to oneself. Get ready for a shock when you open the paper, cause they give you an unbelievable amount of fries (not exaggerating)! I’m gonna have leftover fries for days, and they are really good (similar style to NY Fries, but thicker). Not too starchy nor very oily. I had the 2 piece cod and it was fresh, meaty, and lightly battered. My order came with coleslaw, which was regular but good. I also appreciated that they properly provide you with ample packs of tartar sauce and a small container of malt vinegar.

They used to have decent pieces of halibut but our last order was tiny ,fishy and chewy. So $31.00 for fries and almost non existent halibut. Oh and don’t try and phone your order in. Time to find another place. Too bad.

Last time I had called the employee working suggested I order through door dash to save instead of ordering through them directly. Although I can appreciate the thought behind it, door dash adds their own fees. I remember having issues because I was told they had debit options but it's only credit cards available. I had tried to order through skip the dishes where I have credits but they're only doing doordash today even though both are listed as options online for their restaurant. I specifically ticked the box that says "contact me if items are unavailable" and unfortunately this was ignored. The fish was small but had good flavor. They were overly generous on the fries. My large gravy was missing and my rootbeers were coka-colas. I can recognize this as a "first world problem" but I paid for those items and I had asked to be contacted if anything was unavailable. I would definitely recommend picking up from here yourself if you want it to come as ordered.
