We bought a juvenile bearded dragon, and now two weeks later, she died. We were told she was 4 months old, she seemed very thin when we bought her, however I trusted that she was healthy as they said. Now that she is gone, I did some research and she is the size and weight of a one or two month old and extremely emaciated. The employees were adamant that she was fine when we bought her, that her size is normal, and that the sizes of other dragons we compared to, are all overfed and they are the unhealthy ones. Since our set up was not the problem, we did get a store credit, but obviously did not feel like shopping for more pet supplies. They also asked us to bring our poor lil guy to the store, never even looked at her, decided they could not do a refund and then asked us to leave our pet with them. Um, no thanks, she deserves a proper burial.

I drove an hour out of my way every Tuesday on the dot for 1 1/2 years, I spent over 140 bucks a month here for pet food and supplies. I was told a few weeks ago that since I was not on their order list they could not sell me food for my animals. I reminded the girl (who sees me there all the time) that I am there every week and WAS put on the initial order list, infact I had told an employee a month ago to lower my order since my pets diets have changed. Knowing that they have no concern for long term customers is a shame. The place looks run down and the owner is cranky all the time and it was obvious it trickled down to her staff, Glad I found a nicer, cleaner atmosphere to do my business now...wish I would have looked around sooner. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!!

I use this store as my main outlet for my fish supplies and various pet supplies. They have a great variety of fish and also terrarium setups. Very knowledgeable and have been a persistent customer for yrs!! I will continue to go here, it's the best pet shop in London and deserves all the support in the world. Also reasonably priced aswell. Always friendly and willing to help in anyway they can. Also Will the fish guy is unlike most where they say anything to make a sale. Will is honest and if that fish won't work in your tank he will definately let you know instead of just trying to make any sale!!! This is one of the pet shop I recommend for all. Today I went to purchase some plants and I was surprised with the huge collection of the live plants. The staff were nice and I heard one of the staff were talking to other customer and he refused to give pond fish to others. Which is I felt that guy , he’s actually care about the fish. The customer have a small tank and wanted to buy koi carp, which will get bigger in no time. But the staff suggested other fish rather than the big fish. I really appreciate the effort. And looking forward to my next visit too.????????

I mainly buy my goldfish, betta fish and other fish tank accessories (filters, cartridges, water care, etc) from Pet Smart on Fanshawe Road by CF Masonville Place. This pet store business is the most successful one, and good customer service providing care for their fish. Their koi betta fish are worth the money, and event it cost $15.99. Their unique type of goldfish are their pearl scale goldfish and the panda goldfish. They do have black moor goldfish, oranda goldfish, ryukin goldfish. I wish they will have the ranchu goldfish one day in their store. Keep up with your success. I recommend this pet store business in London, Ontario.

These guys are quite knowledgeable about their products and can order most anything for you. I'm a fish guy, yet they do carry some furry little animals, birds & reptiles as well. They have a wide assortment of cichlids, from African, to Central & South American. Plenty of tetras and usually a wide assortment of live bearing fish like mollies, platies, sword tails or guppies. The fish food selection is limited but I do understand that shelf space is limited considering all the other products they carry. Most importantly - the place is clean and inviting, even if the exterior looks a bit tired after all this time. The prices are competitive, although I do wish they'd put more effort into their website. It seems too simplistic and long forgotten.

Very expensive for dog treats and items compared to other pet stores, limited products for dog treats. The young gentleman working Saturday when I went wasn't very knowledgeable about the products I asked about and didn't seem to know about the products, guessing he doesn't have a dog. Bought 2 chinchillas here. When I called, they didn't know much about them and once I showed up, no one was around to help for 10 minutes. Once I found someone, I asked the genders and the person had to go into their cages and lift them up by their tails. This is a pet store and that's how they treat them in front of customers. I can't imagine how they treat them when I'm not around. The female chinchilla was so angry, she was barking at the employee and the employee ignored her while agressively patting her on the head. My husband and I decided to take both of them knowing they should not stay here. Their feet were peeling and they were not feeding them a proper diet either. Luckily, both my chinchillas are healthy and are doing much better away from this store and their employees. I'd never go back or buy a pet from them again.

Had a really good experience here. I went in to get a couple of medium-sized rats for a friend of mine. Went to the back and rung the bell. Chatted with a lovely young lady for a couple of minutes, who readily packed up two rats for me. (I admit. I thought she was really cute.) Really pleasant, and chatty. I asked her about the tattoos on her arms (there is almost always a story.) It was...a very needed exchange in this very lonely and dark chapter of our world. I kinda hope my friend needs me to get him a rat again soon.... ????

Honestly the best pet store I've been to! The prices are so low, and the selection of reptiles n such in phenomenal! The store doesn't even smell. It's a literal zoo! Not overly knowledgeable on the animals that come into the store. Bought a young feline that had surgery to it's lower half before the age of 3 months; however, was not allowed knowledge behind the story of their surgery. As an experienced animal breeder myself, the animals are well mannered but lack some of the proper care needed by the staff on a daily basis. Also, I would like to add the organization of the store papers in which they keep their customer loyalty cards. Not too bad of an idea, however this too isn't the greatest. It's cluttered and unorganized. I've had to redo the cards several times and lost a lot of money in the process. They also don't inform you that big bags and small bags of food go on separate loyalty cards. Another way to get you to come spend more, if you have a small and large animal. I'm sticking to PetSmart. Never lost my loyalty card and they're animals are in far better health.

Rude staff, on the rare chance you can find anybody to help you at all. The fish there are mostly wild caught which I disagree with. The prices are comparable, but the dogs and cats are from puppy mills, the reptiles have NONE of the proper lighting that they need and all look underfed. I've got a few tanks, and every fish I've gotten from Pet Paradise had ick. The fish system may all be separated, but without being run through things like UV sterilizers or large carbon vessels to deal with the amount of fish in there, pathogens and bacteria spread easily. Overall, worst kind of pet store you could buy animals from, decent if you just want to go in and buy inbred animals.

Pet Paradise is absolutely phenomenal. They have such a wide selection of fish, reptiles, plants and animals. I know the manager and a number of staff personally (over the years from expos and visits to the store), and not only are they incredibly knowledgeable and passionate - but their care towards the critters there is excellent too. They are very innovative and are always adding new premium products to their line-up. Also, I have seen over the years the evolution of their beautiful website, which I order from online - they are very fast at shipping out orders and their prices are highly competitive. They have triple-A grade Indian Almond Leaves for my betta, what else can I say!? A lot of dedication and devotion has gone into the store, if you're looking for a place that will cover a variety of specialized pet hobbies - I sincerely attest that this is a wonderful place to visit and take your kids too, as there are so many exotic species to see!

I shop there for my cats and they sell the cat litter and cat food that I need where other pet stores do not carry. You can shop online here, credit card or pay at pickup, and have it delivered or choose curbside pickup. They are very good about having your order ready for pickup when you need it. Knowledgeable staff especially regarding reptiles which is their specialty.

I purchased a Guinea Pig about a short amount a time ago. He was in a habitat there being bitten by a rabbit, so I decided to get the little guy. They never told me he had a different home before. They gave he a policy sheet saying I could return him if any health related issues. Before I left I purchased a bag of the food he was eating. Not to mention, NO ONE WHO WAS WORKING WOULD HELP ME OUT. THEY ALL SAT AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE ON THEIR PHONE AND WHEN I ASKED FOR HELP THEY WERE CLUELESS AND RUDE. I took him home and put him in his big clean cage, gave him some food and water. For the first few days he wouldn't eat or drink anything. He was not adapting properly, so I called the store and they wouldn't issue a refund or to take him back. I would prefer him somewhere that he was comfortable rather than him not adapting well. They said he was "refurbished" and there was nothing that they could do, EVEN THOUGH IT CLEARLY STATED ON THE PAPER THAT I HAD 7 DAYS TO CALL AND I DID WITHIN 3 DAYS. They wrote down my name and number for the boss to call back and the boss NEVER did. The poor guinea pig still wasn't eating. I gave him fruits and veggies, he ate those. He loved them. He started to let me pet him and cuddle him, but he was still not adapting. Today, I woke up to find him laying on his belly sprawled out with bugs on him, cold and not breathing. He had his eyes open I pet him and put him up to my ear to see if I could hear him making any sounds, nope. Nothing! Of course, I was devastated. If the store did their part and took him back, giving him the proper care that he needed he could still be alive! Instead of ignoring the health concerns of an innocent animal!

Last time I was in there I saw several fish dying or laying dead in the aquariums, There was on discus who was suffering and it's eye was bulged out. He was very sick and swimming on it's side in a tank with several healthy ones. When I asked why He was not in a separate tank I was told "He's dying" that shocked me. Treat them, separate them. They had no care for this poor lil guy or the guys in the tank with him. He had obviously been suffering awhile now. They have the products on hand. Treat them. I will never shop there again for this reason.

The people who work in this store don't know anything about the products they sell, when the products will be resupplied, where they come from, how they are made. I went in there one time and asked about the best (reasonably small) treats to use with my dog for training. The woman GUSHED over one particular product telling me how much my dog would love them. Despite the extraordinarily high cost ($24.99), I bought them. My dog hated them and refused to eat any. Bad salesperson! Do yourself a favour and stay AWAY from this store!

Already have 2 dogs, 2 cats and have had several other sorts throughout the years... but we let our youngest daughter (13) choose a pet and she wanted bearded dragon. After a lot of "googling" and research we went to Pet Paradise and the staff was very helpful. We had one picked out but came across another one in a tank by itself with a "gimp" foot. My daughter, of course took pity on the little one and wanted it thinking that no one else would pick it for a home.... it has only been a couple days but she is very happy and the dragon is very active (no worries about the foot), feeding well and appears to be happy. We have all had an opportunity to have it sit/sleep on us... loves to be "petted" - lol. Thank you. Definitely recommend the store for kindness and service.

The feeder insects are cheap. They seem to take good care of their animals, however clearly some of the water dishes are too big because I saw an anole drowned in one. As others have mentioned, this store buys from a puppy mill. If their reptiles don't sell in a certain amount of time, they freeze them alive! I really wouldn't recommend supporting this store.

We found the staff to be helpful and enjoyed the old school independent feel of the place. Pet Paradise has a broad selection for a midsize independent local shop. Staff are knowledgeable about fish and genuinely care. They wouldn't just sell. They ask about your current stocking and conditions, then advise accordingly. Cherry shrimp quality is much better than others nearby. The prices do reflect accordingly and are slightly higher.

They have diseased fish and if you mention it to them they will then ignore and avoid you. Also i asked the girl about fish care to see if she even knew anything once i finally got help and she had no idea about the section she manages.

Great store! Went in because the store looks well stocked from the outside. The staff is super helpful and could answer any question I had about bioactive terrariums. Even showed me what type of silicone was safe for my build! Spent $200 on my first visit and I will be back when their plant shipment comes in!

What an awesome shop. I'm into aquariums and I cant believe I hadn't discovered this shop before recently. Their selection of fish is the best in London and their prices on fish are fantastic....a lot of multi fish discounts. The guys knew a lot and when they didn't were happy to look it up right there regarding plants and requirements. The tanks were all clean and all fish looked well fed, happy and healthy. Plus as a member of the London Aquarium Society they will honour a 10% discount and that's just icing on the cake. If you're into fish as a hobby this place will impress you. Check it out and you wont be disappointed.

Store sign said one 15 people aloud inside, they had about 25 to 30 in the store as well about 10 people in the fish room and one employee who decided she was gonna spend the entire 30 mins in there with one customer. If you're into reptiles Pet Paradise is the place to go. They carry such a wide variety of plants and accessories that are compatible for most reptiles. They also carry cat and dog food and accessories and you can order online for pick up or delivery.

Your better off buying the pet and maybe tank or cage and food but when it comes to heaters lights filters ect amazon all the way. I also dont like that the fish guys seem to try and control ur tank knowladge is great but they seem to forget this is a hobbie and really cant denie sales they can only denie warrenty. Over opninated and controllong is not a good look for sales. Make sure you do reasearch on what exactly u need to run ur setups. Please dont depend on the staff to make sure you have what you need. I think big als has better quality fish in my personal opinion.

Friendly helpful service , only issue was there was no bags/boxes to carry out my purchases, so I had to buy one of their reusable shopping bags. This is just an overall great place. I came here a few times with my roommate because she gets her cat food there, and I literally never noticed there was a whole half of the store in the back with all the fish. All the fish are so healthy, all the tanks are so clean, with the huge stock they have I am so surprised they didn't even have one sick/dead looking fish. Seriously impressive. I came here to stock my newly cycled 75 gallon tank and the fish guy Dave is very nice, patient, and has a good sense of humour. He answered all my questions and I now happily have a full stocked tank. Will come back here for everything I need in the future. Service and quality better than Big Al's.

Said that a female rabbit was a male.If you get a pet from here, and its going with other pets, just bring it to a vet.Some may cost maybe $10 but at Komoka Kilworth animal clinic will be free.2 stars. A great pet store, awesome selection, great specimens and fantastic customer service. They've done a great job, revamping the store. There are less feathery (as in none) and somewhat less furry friends and way more area spent on displays, stock, plant life (beautiful selections for your home, pet's enclosur, even aquatic and something for most any project under the sun). *No more birds flitting about, a lot more geared towards habitats and professional services like, one-of-a-kind setups re: Vivariums, aquariums (salt/fresh), terrariums and most any -iums in between. Addendum: The only complaint I'd make, don't use stocked products from the shelves for the stores' animals and plant maintenance... And then return said items to a shelf for an unsuspecting customer to buy. I bought a large Exo-Terra mister that, upon further inspection looked as though it had been used extensively [by staff, I assume] but still was left where customers could purchase it.... I had mentioned its condition to my boyfriend but shrugged off any suspicions, as we were holding up the closing of the store. It still continually keeps on causing me aggravation (the sprayer). I never returned it, since I misplaced the receipt. Aside from that, Pet Paradise kicks aces and has improved markedly.

I honestly love their variety of reptiles and amphibians but I just wish their store was bigger so they could house all their animals in proper sized enclosures. As I've seen many reptiles there in enclosures way too small for their species. If its temporary that's one thing but it's usually the "not for sale" reptiles in small tanks. Since they're not for sale I'm assuming they stay in those small tanks, ie. a couple bearded dragons and a pair of Vietnamese Blue Beauty Rat Snakes. Also the one blue beauty had some stuck shed, probably a humidity issue. I do think the store is way nicer than it was 10 years ago and I hope it keeps improving. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

If you "buy" and not adopt a cat or dog from their store...where do you think they are getting them from. You support Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders if you "buy" an animal from here. Go to a rescue, they have dogs, puppies and kittens and cats that need homes. Put these breeders out of business and stop "buying"from them. When you look into their eyes, look to see their parents they have left behind living in a 4x5 cage all their lives eating scraps and bones and never seeing a vet for pains or ailments they have. We at the rescues get their throw away dogs that can no longer produce litters because of disease or old age. Please think before you go to a pet store.

Been in the reptile business for well over a decade. Made the mistake of dealing with these guys when I was green but realized very quickly how they do business and I didn't ever wanna be apart of it or support there's again! The had taken advantage of me . I had received 2 snakes and a tank and I wanted lizards. So I had a deal arranged to trade my snakes for 2 lizards. I had assumed thy were offering me a fair trade and let my guard down and didn't research what they where worth. I ended up trading 2 snakes that they later had selling for 300$ for two 50$ lizards.plus found the female owner and the younger female I charge to be very rude. I had been going in there for years and the owner still looked at me all suspicious like I was stealing and everytime I would browse she would be staring at me like I'm up 2 no good! I been there for 3 years lady and I'm paying your mortgage so don't look at me like theif in your store for 3 years when in reality you guys are the real thiefs !

Had a great experience at Pet Paradise today. I live close by and have been in before. Well today I was looking to buy a kitten. I checked the reviews for the heck of it, and like most places there's mixed reviews. I feel like most of the time if you go in somewhere with a good attitude you will get good service. I walked in here feeling optimistic about finding a kitten and I was lucky enough to leave with one. The staff here were really helpful and I appreciated the great service especially since Ishowed up in their last hour of being open. Good work staff. I don’t want to speak ill of this establishment, as I do love this store and think they are great overall. I’m always happily greeted and the staff is generally very knowledgeable. I come here for my feeders several times a week, and have 2 pets from here as well. But something has to be said to the shorter woman with dark hair and glasses. I think her name is Jessica. She is so rude to me every time I am in, I purposely avoid her, I’ve heard her be rude to other customers on several occasions as well. I’ve heard people say they won’t go back to this store specifically because of a bad experience with her, and I can see in several other of these reviews, that she is being mentioned. I love going to Pet Paradise! My husband and me are regulars 2-3 times a week for feeders and supplies! All the staff is AMAZING!! They all have great attitudes, very friendly, knowledgeable and patient when trying to get information! Our kids have even bought there reptiles from there! The staff let them go through several geckos and snakes to hold and look at before the kids made their choices! They answered all their questions and not one look of frustration! I like buying my animals here because they are heathy and captive-bred, not caught from the wild. The aquarium plants are the best in town! A couple of years ago, I rescued a pregnant cat and she had 5 kittens. I found homes for all but one. Pet paradise took the fifth kitten and after their vet examined and gave it shots, the kitten found a new home through Pet Paradise. Thanks for your help.

Drove your store ( from internet ad) from Ingersoll on Monday early afternoon to buy fish and supplies. Staff not helpful at all - in store for about 10 minutes before a young guy offered help but couldn't sell me any platy's as all were on sale but NFS (not for sale-still don't understand why?) Wanted Cory cats as well but had to bring sample of water before selling ( maybe you should take a sample from your own dirty tanks)- I tried to explain I can't keep driving for 3/4 hour each way for each fish but it was way over his head. After 20 minutes of wasted time went to another merchandiser and spent $200 on Aqueon filters, ornaments, plants , fishfood & fish. I tried to explain as I went out to the 2 girls talking at counter in your store but they didn't care either. Only 1 other person came in your store in the 20 minutes we were there. I don't know how you can run a business this way, but I can't help to let others know of my experience. - Jeff

What impressed me the most was the guinea pigs, the large space they had compared to other pet stores who keep many guinea pigs in a small space. There seemed to be many birds in a small cage though, but I don’t know much about birds so not my place to say. I said hello to all the animals and bought my cat food and litter. I have spent over $100.00 in tropical fish in the last month. Electric Blue and Golden rams as well as hatchet fish. Every single one of them has died!!! I live out of town, We brought in the first fish and a water sample. My water is perfect, they just have a very poor quality of fish. I own other Rams bought from a different supplier, that I have owned since before I purchased ones from Pet Paradise, they are perfectly healthy so its not just the type of fish nor is it my water quality. I cant be keeping all the dead fish and running into London every other day with a dead fish. I will not be purchasing fish from these stores in the future nor will i recommend them to anyone. Horrible quality!

Last time I went in this place they had puppies for sale... I asked the woman working at the desk where the puppies came from and her exact words were 'when people's dogs accidentally have puppies they just bring them into us and we sell them' I find it really hard to believe that theres someone in London accidentally having purebred cairn terrier puppies but hey... What do I know?

Great variety of pets. From fish to chinchillas, they've got a huge amount of animals. This is the best place in London. Although I had a fish and it died pretty quickly. I see a lot of reviews saying these fish die a lot. Frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles, rodents, birds, ferrets, and even cats ( Cats were there last time I was. ) are some of the animals there.

The store may have gone through an upgrade but the employees are still obsessed with themselves. When asked why the same product at a different store 10 minutes away is $7 more you're told "I price things around here and people will pay it so why not". Also when you're told information about certain pets and it's in their own opinion your professional expierence doesn't matter. The birds..... either get rid of them OR take better care. They deserve toys, they deserve attention and not just put in the middle to be tormented by children. We refuse to walk into this store anymore and sadly have gone back to the big box stores where I can now save money! Save your money on fish food, hamster supplies, dog supplies and much more. "The rich want to get richer"

The only issue I have had is with the passing of info from person to person. A few times now I've called and asked about a certain product and been assured they carry it only to go in and find out they don't or it's not in stock. Most staff are fantastic and have vast knowledge of there products and animals but a select few seem to just answer questions without first confirming they're answer. Super annoying when trying to properly care for an animal and coming from one end of the city to the other. Wastes time and gas. Other than that these guys are the best in the city for animal selection and care needs.

I bought 9 daino fish, 3 of each colour. And they all died within a week. And they brought in a disease that killed off my fish that I have had for about 11 months. My rank water was perfectly healthy everything was fine until I brought these new ones home. And they did nothing but give me one replacement fish which also died. I went back and looked in the tank and I noticed about 6 or 7 dead fish t floating in the tank. This us terri le and now i have ruined my whole rank because of these few small fish I got from this pet store. Very disappointed in this branch. Will not be going back for anything from here. They clearly do not properly care for their tanks and animals they are housing.

Shipping is slow as maple syrup in January. Expect to receive your order in 3-4 weeks or order from amazony, pay a bit more, and get it 3-4 days. Wish I'd ordered from Amazon. No excuse for how long their shipping takes. I could order something from the other side of the planet on ebay and get it quicker. Shame on them for such slow, laxitysickle service in 2021; won't be around for long with this type of service. Shape up or be gone.

We have been going to this store for years, only recently have we purchased a pet from there. We purchased an amazing Quaker baby, the man (I think mike) did a wonderful job with guidance and had a ton of knowledge. The girls at the counter were also wonderful and easy to talk to. Unfortunately our baby died due to out dumb dog and last week we returned and found no more quaker babies there. I asked the young lady if there was any chance we could get another one and guess what? She made 1 call and told us he would be here in a week. We now as of last night have a new baby in our hands. Thank you to all the friendly staff at Pet Paradise for going above and beyond.

Every time I go to PP for rat pups for my Ball Python the person in charge always tries to give me full grown rats insisting that they are rat pups. A rat pup is a little larger than a mouse, a full grown rat is 10x the six of a mouse. You would think that the person in charge of the reptiles would know the difference. Not to mention they insisted I should buy a heating rock for my snake. Which ANY snake owner knows is certain death for a snake. I don't think the employees need to know everything about animals but for christ sake they should at least know some basics.

I really only go for a large bag of Orijen dog food every few months. I can't find anyone else that carry them and it's always in stock, good service, easy check out. Every 13th bag is free, so that's a plus, because they're over 100$ per! I think they updated their paper accounts to digital and I appreciate that convenience a lot. It was empty during covid so I walked around the aquariums with my 2 yo, he loved it, and they didn't rush us out or make us feel bad staying.

Always loved this store, However it’s gotten very bad over the past year. I don't understand all the hate! The employees have never been rude to me when shopping there. I got my lovely pet hamster there and he wasn't sick and enjoys being handled. The animals are kept in nice cages unlike pet smart animals! They had a ferret in a gigantic cage! The food is nice, the animals are friendly, therefore raised well. I don't understand the negative reviews.....

I’ve been a customer since 2016. Don’t know where all the negative comments came from. I mostly get hamster supplies from them like paper beddings, reptile sand for sand bath, and hamster toys. Their price is unbeatable, not even big corporations like petsmart or Amazon, idk how they are able to keep the price so low, it’s absolutely amazing. The staff are always so friendly, cheerful and helpful, not even once did I feel being mistreated. I’d give them 10 star if I could!!!

Beanie got her pet loot and she loved it! It’s a fairly new “gift basket” delivery service that they started doing. You can subscribe for regular delivery or do a one-time purchase for a treats-filled goodie box! Although I wish there was better customer communication to inform us of delays in delivery (we received ours 3 weeks after purchase) they were always very quick to respond via phone or email and explained the contingency issue they were having.
