Food quality and quantity has gone down. The last time I got fish it was dried out, over cooked and there was very little of I, not a tone of greasy fries. There was only 2 mouthfuls of coleslaw and it tasted funny.

They're always underdone and the staff don't seem to care of you specifically request crispy fries. Or bacon for that matter. :)

Well, the food (when you get what you want) is usually quite good. The issue is we usually get take out and have had multiple problems where we're either missing items or the items were wrong. Since we live 30 mins away, they've never fixed the problem by having someone drive out with the correct or missing items, they just say when we come back, they'll correct the problem and give us a "piece of pie". What a joke ! Very disappointing!! I wonder how they deal with these issues when their food is delivered by Skip the Dishes? It's very sad and shows a lack of customer service when customers are basically forced to have to check the whole order before they leave the restaurant to make sure it's correct.

Archie's was always the place my family went for dinner when visiting my grandpa in London. Now that I live in London for school, my dad comes about once a month for a visit and we always go to Archie's. The meals are guaranteed to be excellent. Their fish batter is one of the best betters I have tasted, and the same with my dad, who was a chef for 35 years of his life. I refuse to get fish and chips anywhere but Archie's- they've ruined me for other restaurants and I am totally okay with it.

Well the reviews were right about this place!! Great food and prices with amazing service! The halibut with light batter was delicious!! If you have a gluten sensitivity and looking for a nice breakfast, this is not the place to go. They are not accomodating and will be very confused when you explain your dietary requirements. They told me they have never had anyone come in before like me. I had an omelette and asked for the hash brown potatoes to be fried separately without the seasoning, a very simple request, and they refused. There was no apology, only a sarcastic comment of how frustrating it must be for me. I asked for bacon on the side to replace the potatoes and was charged extra for the bacon! I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant and will not be returning.

We found this gem today travelling from bradford to come see the best knee surgeon anywhere dr.giffen.and also found the best fish and chip place ever.we were seated within 2 mins greeted with a smile and a warm welcome.we were told about the specials we had our meals in under 10 mins.the place is really cute very clean the food was outstanding.our waitress was very polite and smiling she truly appreciates her job because it showed how we were treated .she was quick with our meals.quick with our check.leaving to pay we were thanked by again by a very pleasant sweet lady who turned out to be the manager who thanked us for our bussiness.i will definitely be back here to eat every time we visit London. Truly enjoyed by 2 new customers.

I have been a customer at Archies for years and have never been so disappointed with a meal. We ordered 3 clam chowders and a kids pollock and chips in the drive through. We waited behind 2 cars for a half an hour only for the young woman at the window to completely ignore us for another ten minutes. After finally getting our order there were no utensils or napkins of any kind in the bag and they neglected to give us our oyster crackers for the clam chowder which we specifically asked for. Finally, the clam chowder was so runny with almost nothing but broth in it we ended up throwing it away. Will never go back.

Delicious food, always good. I've been going there since I was a baby and have loved it at all stages of my life. The waitresses are nice and friendly and the service is generally fast and efficient. The halibut is scrumptious (which you can get regular or lightly battered). If fish isn't your thing they have lots of other things to choose from. Try the garlic bread, it's really good.

Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy the halibut ordered today. The fish was chewey and did not smell like halibut. Archie's policy is that the fish must be returned to the store for a new one or your money back. This does not work for everyone and there is no alternative.

Hit up Archie's on Wellington right before lockdown. I got the shrimp and fish. It was good value and variety. Went with kids and they got the shrimp and fries and the burger. The kid portions are huge plus they get dessert. Overall great experience and good quality food that is consistent each time I visit.

Archie's is the best fish and chip place anywhere. The only place I think that could compete with Archie's is on Manitoulin Island at some of the restaurants where they serve white fish. After getting the two-piece meal I was incredibly full. They offer a dining in as well with a broader menu of seafood. Some of the shrimp soaked in butter covered in cheese is amazing! They are definitely a Queen restaurant and they are definitely following covid-19 guidelines.

My friends who had the regular haddock had nice, golden fish, which is what I've always received. Service was not great. We ordered due to allergies and the order came out and could not be eaten so they remade and still not able to be eaten and their excuse was it was too hard to avoid. Not impressed and wouldn't return for breakfast. I am not a chef and I can make breakfast due to this allergy with no issues and done right the 1st time. I don't like excuses and the only discount given was the removal of the drink. I would give the meal free if I owned a company that made a mistake, especially due to an allergy. You should be able to accommodate everyone no questions asked.

i had not been to Archie's in years, I recently went with my girlfriend and daughter and ever since we try to make it our there at least once a month. their food is amazing, great flavour and even better price. They really made my daughter feel comfortable that her food didn't come in any contact with nuts as she has an allergy and as a father that means a lot. She had a great experience and loves going there, so that is great for me. And if you have any room for dessert definitely try the Coconut Cream Pie.

I have been going to Archie's since I was little. It WAS my favourite fish and chips place for the longest time. However, a month ago I went and something had changed - I order the Halibut dinner and it tasted completely different and not in a good way. I was informed they changed suppliers and that they were getting quite a few complaints. I messaged them to talk about my experience and I haven't heard back from them at all. I will not be returning unless the quality returns to their meals. One thing I will say is that the staff are always pleasant and the wait times are short.

Food tastes better with nostalgia glasses ????. Also they state that they don't give out straws to spread awareness about irecycleable straws in the ocean. As we were eating the dishwasher braught out both garbage bags and a lot of cardboard boxes and threw them in their dumpster. I just dont like hypocracy, or greenwashing in general.

The food was good. I got the haddock combo and took a risk with the shrimp. I got Thai sauce shrimp. The shrimp is coated with the sauce completely, is breaded but the shell was also still on. Best to avoid these shrimp. They had multiple other options which will be fine. The last complaint, we are in the great lakes but theres nothing local on the menu. It's just ocean fish.

We had Breakfast there and the place was empty, we waited nearly 30 mins for our breakfast and it arrived cold. To describe it as warm would be an exaggeration. They did offer to replace the meals but due to time constants we could not take them up on this offer. To compensate for the majority of our food being uneatable they decide to not charge us for the tea and coffee. Thanks for not charging us for the only part of the meal that we enjoyed! This may be the last time I eat here ever.

Drive through only, of course. Packaging wasn't really suitable for my needs (the box was taped shut and it took some manoeuvring to open it). I had nowhere else but my car to eat it since I was headed out of town. But the halibut was nicely done and tasty (the tartar sauce helped). The chips were just okay. I had remembered to get malt vinegar, but they needed some salt which I didn't have. Still, it satisfied my hunger.

I think her name started with an S. she has dark curly hair and is like a tornado. Never stops. Every table she had was well cared for. Polite, efficient, yet never makes you feel rushed. Refilled our drinks. The best server we have seen in a long time abs we eat out often. We both worked in the industry for over 10 years in a past life. The food was good. It is what it is. Update Saturday, July 24th 2021. Was super excited to be finally able to visit Archies for breakfast. However, it was one of those days ????...ordered the hungry man cause why wouldn't you and my partner ordered an original skillet with sausage and NO mushrooms. Needles to say you can imagine what happened but here let me give it to you in point form. 1. Coffee cups had pink sparkle lipstick on them 2. Skillet came with mushrooms 3. They did offer to put the hungry man under the heat lamp while remaking the skillet. 3. 2nd skillet came with bacon not sauage 4. They offered to make sausage on the side and my partner accepted the offer out of pitty but they do not like bacon. 5. Told my partner you don't have to eat something you don't like and advised to have them remake the meal. 6. Hungry man started getting cold and my pancakes were now sponges of syrup....some may like this I however do not! 7. Finally got the skillet right, but my syrup sponges were so drenched it made my stomach upset and unable to eat my meal. 8. I am pretty sure that they noticed me typing this review and they came over and tried to make it right with a piece of pie. NOT a very good alternative after having already been put of by the syrup sponge pancakes. So we packaged up my breakfast took the offer of a piece of pie and my partner enjoyed their finally made right skillet while I typed this review. 9. Got brought a bill, Stephanie the manager told me I still had to pay because we ate some of the meal and were taking it home. 10. Handed Stephanie the bill and left the food at the tables including the pie offered to try and make up for the experience. Let me say this..... at reduced capacity due to COVID service should get better not worse, I have better service here during a crazy full dinning room with only two servers working than I did today. I have reduced my star rating to 1 star because of this experience. Stephanie you have made me not want to ever come back here! ???? Wish I had an image of the lipstick on my coffee cup. ******** Previous review ********* Generally great service but there is the odd one off experience. Food portions are a good size and the fish and chips are excellent $$$. Decor is very coastal with lots of memorabilia hanging to admire.

We placed our orders, my wife ordered haddock loin, grilled and and I had battered haddock with 4 coconut shrimp, my wife had mashed potatoes and a cole slaw, with a piece of garlic toast, and I had a baked potato and a slaw. we both ordered a soup 4 beginners and not long after our orders arrived, I can tell she was disappointed, and I can see why, even though our meal tasted good, the portion size is ridiculous 4 what they charge, when my wife called our server over and said I expected something 2 eat , our server said we charge by weight, I hope the price of fish does not go up any further otherwise we might end up getting a portion the size of a quarter, when e spoke 2 manager about this she could not care less, evev though my wife mentioned there competitor down the street offered s better and bigger portion 4 a few dollars more

Had lunch there yesterday. Food and service was great (Bonnie our server is awesome) but when time came to pay up at the front desk, (they have a portable machine which they never offer at the table) the manager just snatched my bill, saw I was paying with a card, punched in the total and proceeded to take a drive thru order through her headset. As I was paying, she did not even acknowledge me. When the transaction was done, she was still with the drive thru order. She ripped the receipt and basically threw it at me and proceeded on with the drive thru order. Frankly I found it EXTREMELY RUDE that she totally dismissed me to take that drive thru order. I was first you deal with me first. She made me feel that I was not important enough. She's also been rude to a friend of mine who came in alone to dine and she asked why would he come in and not just order take out. Not a very nice person and I wish I caught her name. All I can remember is she has an accent. Aside from HER, all the servers are wonderful and the food is awesome.

An establishment that has stayed static here in London for as long as I've been alive. Nothing ever changes other than the prices and the staff. I generally have the halibut and it's either really good or just okay. Sweet potato fries are good, albeit pricey when you replace your regular fries. The charm comes from the 90's aesthetic. The problem is that they don't play with that aesthetic at all. The reason for that is because they have essentially never renovated their store. It's not out of love, but out of laziness to design. I feel that if they embraced the look more and even worked harder to offer better meals, I think this establishment could be a great visit for outsiders and Londoners alike. For now though, not a place to go out of your way to visit.

Archie's has become our new go to place for dining out. There are just too many burger / steak / chicken places out there so we wanted something different for a change. Its often quite busy here but the staff are always friendly , the service always great and the food is great as well. We normally have the Haddock fish which is very tasty. I've never had their "Light" batter option... I can't bring myself to try it, but the regular batter is perfect! My daughter also tried their chicken parmesan and said it was amazing. They have a decent selection of desserts too but we have yet to try them as we're always too full.

I have been a happy customer of Archie's for many years. Last Saturday I ordered some halibut and chips and the fish was dry and stringy. I have never had a more horrible experience at a restaurant in my life. I will never order fish there ever again.

Archie's has great fish and chips (and their deep fried pickles are a must try) we have eaten here many times and the food is always good. The staff are always pleasant and I love the convenience of the drive through

Good fish and chips, but the best in the city, but there is a reason this place has franchised out. I'm not a fan of their tartar sauce, it's not bad... But it's too much like plain mayo my taste. If you're nearby and haven't had fish and chips in a while, I would consider this over most of the nearby restaurants.

A group of us were there on Monday April 15, 2019. Service was fast and our server was great. My wife and I ordered the two piece Pollock and fries. The food was real good with two nice pieces of fish plus a generous portion of fries. We definitely didn't leave hungry and would return again.

We visited Archie's with family on a Saturday evening. It wasn't busy. Service was good & fast, but could have been a bit more informative on fish selections when kids were choosing. I certainly don't hold that as an expectation tho. The place was clean & meals were good. I had halibut tacos & they were great and an item I will order again, but to go. The restaurant overall exceeded my expectations on the first visit.
