Really great food and amazing service (think small-town diner). Used to be one of my favourite restaurants. They unfortunately recently hired a new very rude brown woman. She yells at customers and I overheard an incident where she accidentally overcharged a customer and refused to correct her mistake. Her rude attitude really takes away from the atmosphere.

I really like this place. Wait staff are great. After your first visit they remember the little things..like if you drink lots of coffee your cup will never be empty or if you like hot sauce with your breakfast they bring it it to you. And the border scramble is really tasty!

Great fish and chips, at a really good price. They also have some of the best deep fried pickles I have ever had. I do have a slight preference for the other location (on Wellington) as this location sometimes has slightly soggy fries, however that is not a common issue. Very dated restaurant. Definitely needs a facelift. Windows were dirty. Staff was nice. Did not have a manager attend our table. I had a halibut dinner. The fish was tasty nice portions. The fries were not good. They seemed undercooked. Gigerale tasted watered down. Overpriced for what I recieved.

Archie's is an institution in London, Ontario. Unfortunately, the menu is not consistent. While Charlies signature, batter fried fish and chips dishes are good, the specialty dishes did not fare so well. In particular the broiled Pacific Salmon was a major disappointment. The menu said it was broiled with a garlic sauce. It came with canned mushrooms instead. The fish was over-cooked and seemed to have once been frozen. I chose mashed potatoes over fries because I was trying to avoid fried food. Again a disappointment. The mash was a flavorless puree, again leaving a suspicion that it came from a package. Finally the coleslaw was soggy. My companions fared much better with the traditional batter-fried fish. My advice at Archie's is to stick to what they are best at.

Not good. The sweet potato fries were good but lacked any dip so quite boring. The French bread was slathered with margarine (,yuck) but was replaced with extremely dry bread (with butter) that I couldn't eat. It was supposed to be 'French' bread but didn't resemble 'French' bread in any way.

A classic restaurant. I've been eating at Archie's my whole life, at the various locations there are/have been in London. The one on Wharncliffe Road is pretty neat. It has all these old signs and really old ads on the walls which are entertaining to look at. The clientele is typically a bit older, and the menu kind of reflects that. Mostly fish items on the menu. The meal sizes are large, so you won't walk away hungry. The list of menu choices is actually surprisingly large as well - quite a few options. The service can be a bit slow, but I've usually had friendly servers.

Sadly disappointed with my visit today. Walking home in this cold, rainy miserable weather, I decided to treat myself to a take away lunch. There was no one at the take away window and it was so cold, I decided to go inside to order. I was asked for my proof of vaccine, which I was happy to provide, but explained to the hostess that I wanted take away. She explained I had to order at the take away window as they had the debit machine. I said that was fine, but as I didn’t have a car, could I please wait inside for my order. No, I was told. The restaurant was only for customers who were dining in. The restaurant was not full, there was no line up but I was expected to stand outside in this cold, rainy weather to wait for my order. Needless to say, I went somewhere else and will not be back. Update: I did write directly to the restaurant about my experience. They never responded. Not surprised. ????

Fish and chips were good. The surprise was the kids spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce was excellent - checked with the server and it is home made. Had a great visit. Atmosphere is dated. Like going back to the 80s. Lots of pine-looking wood panelling. Not what I expected, but not bothered. We all enjoyed our meals and conversation.

To be quite honest the food itself was great.... environment was good n friendly my only concern was my server... she was extremely nice to the people I went with... constantly topping up their coffee asking If everything was "good n ok" yet I had to ask for a refill of my coffee had 2 ASK for my menu n just all around felt uncomfortable with her being my server... i mean im 30 years old it takes alot for a complete stranger to get under my skin. But in this case she really got to me... it absolutely NOTHING against the restuarant itself like I said food was great n all but they REALLY have to work on their customer service skills.... if I would if had a different waitress I probably would of gave 5 stars easily!!!.

Archies has been a staple of Wharncliffe road for at least 20 years. The prices are extremely reasonable, the portions are huge and the food is pretty good. It's not somewhere that you'd go for a first date, but as a family restaurant you get all that you want out of it with a cool atmosphere and really friendly wait staff. All in all it's worth a stop if you're craving decent fish and chips.

I am a student and ordered lunch today, just halibut poppers and chips with gravy. But then I didn't receive my fries and the fish was stone cold. The only thing hot was the gravy and when I called the manager I assume is who I spoke to basically told me he didn't care and it was because someone else forgot to punch in fries. Told me to just go get a refund from uber eats. So clearly he couldn't be bothered to resolve the issues his people caused. Considering the order is 24$, the person is obviously not the brightest because what fish costs 24 for a few pieces. In the end there are much better places in the city for fish and chips, golden lake and kipps lane just to name a couple. Save yourself the trouble and order somewhere else.

This place used to be awesome their fries were amazing. Unfortunately this is not longer true. Today I ordered from their webpage 2 piece pollock dinner which comes with coleslaw and the onion ring which is listed at 1.99 instead when I got my order I was billed for 2 piece fish and chips plus a coleslaw at 2.50 cents onion rings at 4.65 when I called about being over billed by 6 dollars she first tried to tell me I ordered wrong then said that the meal I ordered from their website is not available for take out then said it was a miscommunication then tried to say she could not do anything about it. Then said I could get a credit next time I came in and finally that she would get general management to call me in many days. The over priced slaw is flavorless the fish is dry the 5 overpriced onion rings are few the fries are barely cooked and very small portion. This place simply is no longer the best place to get fish and chips. I will update this IF and when they make some effort to correct their mistake

We enjoyed this seafood restaurant. Went for the fish and chips lunch as well ad a shrimp plate. Very tasty. They also have some fancier seafood dinners. Good beer and craft beer selection. We must compliment them on their sticky toffee pudding. Most Canadian restaurants can only try to make this dish. This dessert is absolutely world class at this location.

I have eaten at Archie's many times before, but this visit was terrible. Our waitress didn't take our order correctly. We never got our beverage until we asked for them and second time. We when got our food it was cold and dried out. NOT a good experience at all. I believe it has alot to do with unstaffing on a busy night.

Looked online at the menu, 2 piece meal with a single small fries an two ketchup sized styrofoam containers of cole slaw cost $26+ tax, go to pick it up and it is over $35. The old bait and switch. I claim the website says $26, they tell me they are going to change it - that prices went up. They would not honour their advertised price which is both in poor taste and actually illegal. A couple days later and they still haven't updated their site, I just checked. They could of have covered in their terms of service in case of accidental price mistakes BUT WAIT, they don't even have a terms of service page on their site. Nor was this an accident. They are simply too lazy or cheap to update their site and I got stuck paying $10 more for a meal. Let's be realistic on top of that, over $35 for fish chips for TWO ppl is ridiculous. The halibut 2 piece meal...$35+....its not even that good. Pull your socks up Archies, or dont, either way I'm never coming back and neither should anyone else that reads this.

I hate to give Archies this low of a review.. the food is usually great when we visit however we visited tonight and it was mediocre at best. We ordered three pieces of fish- specifically asked for tartar sauce and when we got home we found about a 1 tblsp of tartar sauce in the bottom of the bag. We had to go to the store to purchase extra tartar sauce then heat up our food when returning home.... very disappointing. You’ve unfortunately lost a family of customers, Archies.

We order take out from here for the cheap breakfast but it also comes with a side of cheap attitudes. We tried to give you another chance but once again, the waitresses poor attitude, trumps your food. Waited 5 minutes at the pickup window for service, even though the one waitress watched me walk in, walk over to the pick up area and looked at me a few more times before continuing to ignore me. It was so rude. There were 2 other waitresses on staff that also ignored the fact that I was waiting at the pick up window, as a regular paying customer, for the order I could see sitting there. I didn't get service until the kitchen staff yelled out "pickup window" a few times, then the girl who initially saw me, reluctantly, walked over. Not an isolated incident either. Called to order food before and had to change part of the order, this annoyed the waitress on the phone because she made a large sigh into the phone then said "hold on" mid order. (Put me on hold for 5 minutes) When she came back on the phone, instead of saying thanks for holding, she said "Have you made up your mind yet" in a rude tone. Just unreal. 3.5/5 for food 1/5 for service (minus kitchen staff ) You lost a customer today ladies, your collective poor attitudes to blame.

I went there with my wife and daughter and her boyfriend today 26th December 2018 who were visiting from out of town. I have been a very regular visitor to Archie's in Wharncliffe Road London for many many years. My family were having our meal when out of the corner of my eye I saw a bug crawling on the woodwork in the booth we were seated in. I waited to see what the bug was going to do and it turned out the bloody bug was a COCKROACH. My daughters boyfriend also spotted it and we both looked at each other and said nothing to my wife and my daughter. We slowly tried to move away when my wife noticed the bug. My wife didn't say anything but slowly started to move out of our booth. We told the server and she quickly went and got the manager who was on shift. She quickly moved us out to the booth and moved us to another part of the restaurant. If my wife had found out that this bug was a COCKROACH she would have screamed the bloody restaurant down. I intentionally didn't say anything to her as I knew this would have happened. After being moved we quickly got our belongings together as we did not not want to be in Archie's anymore. I went and spoke to manager on duty and all she said was that she would contact the local pest control. I told her I knew it was a COCKROACH and that I would be contacting Middlesex London Health Unit on the 2nd January when it opens after the Christmas break. I paid $110 for this and also the terrible service and a terrible explanation from a manager about COCKROACHES in the restaurant. This was Archie's fish and chip restaurant in Wharncliffe Road, London, Ontario. I will never visit any of these restaurants chains again.

I do like their food but we are trying to support them during these hard times and continue to purchase their product. Why are we paying higher prices in order to show our support. There never was a tip added to drive thru products before. Shouldn't they advise the customer that this is being added. And who gets the tip. There are no waitresses.
