We've got the information of real people like you who consume the products of Paillard - St-Jean (Fish Shop) in the area of Lévis (Canada).
At the present the firm gets a score of 4.4 stars over 5 and this score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is really high, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Love everything at Paillard in Quebec City! The food is absolutely delicious! The pastries are so tasty....one of the best in the world! Customer service is excellent! We ate at Paillard everyday when we visited and stayed in Quebec City for a week. We plan to return to Quebec City just for Paillard. Paillard is that GOOD!!!!
This is a perfect place for people who are hungry and in a hurry... to explore the city. So, it's great for a quick bite at midday for lunch, and probably for breakfast or even just for coffee with dessert. The sandwiches are very tasty, and there are enough tables to accommodate dozens of people. Reasonable prices.
Best food ever!! Long wait sometimes. But sooooooo worth it
Wonderful breakfast
Terrible experience today looking for a place to grab a bite. My dad and I were literally on the staircase about to enter and a worker came and locked the door right in front of us. Amazing as 2 patrons had JUST entered not 5 steps in front …
Wonderful delish ❤️❤️????
Wonderful Breakfast, thank you Paillard ????
If you're visiting Quebec this is a great place in old port that you should try at least once. I would recommend the ham and cheese croissant as it was the best I've ever had, it was stacked with ham and cheese and once it was re-heated it …
This place is amazing! We came here for breakfast and the lineup was a bit long but the food was totally worth it! Definitely go here. The staff was kind and despite having a bit of a long order, it came pretty fast. Without a doubt the best bakery I’ve been to so far.
Absolutely amazing. We haven't been here since 2014 and it was great to be back. The food, atmosphere, hospitality was exactly as we remember. Huge recommend.
I visited here a couple times while vacationing in Quebec City. I’m a bit conflicted on how to review this, but I think a 3.5 stars is appropriate. The food, on its own, was lovely. I adored the broccoli cheddar soup, and the brie and ham …
Cafe au lait and a crispy, fresh croissant. Can't ask for more than that. Fantastic stop--busy but efficient. Long communal tables make this an enjoyable people-watching stop.
Delicious pastries! Tried a lot of them and was very good. We went in the morning for breakfast and got the Combo Matin. A breakfast croissant sandwich which was warm and flaky with bacon and cheese. All good stuff! Recommend to come try it.
Great pastry shop, sweet and savory pastry, sandwiches, you name it. Sit down and enjoy your breakfast, lunch, dinner or random snack. And don't forget to take some with you.
Beautiful cozy bakery with best bread and pastries. Croissant was wonderful and the bread was sooooo good. Best toasted with butter on pan, also can use pate as a spread. So good.
Great service, food, and price. Great experience. Ordered this thing, didn't know what it's called and still confused after having it. Tasted good though. Coffee was good too. 10/10
Best dessert shop in old Quebec City, Went two days straight for breakfast plus desserts. Their cream burlee is the best
Very good variety of food, pastries and drinks in modern atmosphere and right in the middle of Quebec old town. Very good prices as well.
Best place to taste real french croissant andn pastry. Love to find this place~ It is so amazing!!!
Can't speak to the quality of anything because we left. Things looked tasty, we even has some items picked out to try. So we stood in line for 10 minutes where everyone else seemed to be placing orders, but nobody came back to take our …
The BEEEEESSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT morning sandwiches ever I had, crowded place, almost 50 people in front of me, but passing so fast, the croissants are amazing, try the morning combo with fresh and awesome coffee! WILL BE BACK SOON
They have good selection of pastries, crossiant and cakes. This place is good for breakfast and lunch for take out and dine-in. Most of the restaurants were fully booked when we visited in mid August so this was our go to place.
Croissants are just insanely smooth I'm from Belgium and I can tell you this real European bakery
One of the best pastries/cafes I have ever been to.
Nice cafe in old Quebec. It is extremely busy but the service is fast which is impressive. I love how they decorated very nicely for Christmas and how big the space is. I have a gluten allergy and they were not able to accommodate that …
Equinox was awesome, loved it. Long queue for ordering but that's something is expected, given the shop's popularity.
Tldr: awesome place for breakfast Nothing bad can be said about this place. You come, you order some sandwich, and …
As others have said, the lines are long and slow. Looks like they are short-staffed for the time being. Food and pastries here are descent but not really sure whether it's really worth the wait. If you want to avoid the lines, try out Café La Maison Smith not far from here.
Not really any parking unless you pay and walk over. Good atmosphere inside. Lots of options but the croissants didn't seem too fresh. Expected a fluffy moist croissant but they were surprisingly dry, perhaps I got day olds, even though it was a weekend afternoon? Amazing chocolate dipped donut - huge!!
I decided to try this place during my first time in Quebec City. The food was really good, and it would have warranted 5 stars if the guy who made my food tonight wasn't so incredibly rude.
This place was very hyped up. We got the essentials to judge a place by, croissant avec un café. Perhaps it was because the place was extremely busy but we found them both to be underwhelming. There are smaller better places in Quebec City with better croissants.
This place holds the crown for me. Value and flavour. You visit this place you won't regret. Everything in the menu taste fabulous plus coffee is excellent. Prices are not high as 2019 you could eat here for less than 15 dollars a person. It was packed when we walked in. There was also a musician playing music in the background overall great experience. Customer service on point with smile in there face. This place is a must when you come all the way to Quebec
Great food at reasonable prices.
Wow wow wow!! Pâtisseries , cafés, sandwiches… everything looks delicious, and what we had was very yummy! The decor is really nice too! Definitely recommend if you’re in the region of Vieux Québec!
It's a pretty spacious bakery. They have a few different stations where you can get different items. We came in the wintertime so there was no gelato section though. We ended up getting a couple bakery items: the bacon and cheddar bread, …
Food us great, but have to be early, or long waiting time.
Phenomenal food! Enjoyed it so much that we had to go back a second time. Their croissant sandwich had the most delicious bread I ever tasted in my life. Definitely recommend you try them once (or twice).
BEST DEAL on GELATO we found in the city. For less an $3 each, we got 2 large scoops (two different flavours). Absolutely delicious and budget friendly (which is hard to come by in this city). We had also tried the lunch combo here one day and found it was a fair price for a nice amount of food. We loved to hear a man with an accordion play while we ate comfortably in air conditioning.
Best croissants
I give 3 stars because eclair wasn’t good, average quality, not a proper one.
Our place to go for bread, pastry and dessert. Fresh baked goods, great choice, fast helpful service
Really, really good pastries. Best I've ever had. The croissant's are moist, stretchy, and flaky. There was also this pastry, which I don't know the name of, which was like a figure-8 knot of dough similar to a croissant, with course sugar and some sort of glaze.
Amazing selections of pastries. Every items we bought were delish. Wish there's one in Toronto, Ontario.
The food was good. Service was ok, they seemed a little overwhelmed.
Fantastic pastries and baked goods. Wasn't too pleased with the Gelato though. But the Amandier au Chocolat is the best pastry there is ... so far ;)
Very cute cafe/bakery/canteen. As soon as you enter, the fragrances of the baked goods, coffee and bread make your mouth start to water. My wife and I got a spot in the long table and I ordered the sandwich (pic attached). I would recommend …
Beautiful Breakfast, really enjoyed this place ????
First food in Quebec! I really liked it :)
Quite noisy, wrong orders. Friendly staff thought and awesome treats!
Excellent sandwich and soup. Great atmosphere and yes very busy. A must in Quebec City.
Excellent choices, home made likely food, fair price, cozy place. I recommend!
This was my go to spot for breakfast. They have a good selection of baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is also decent and is included with any breakfast sandwich. Their creme brulee was really good although the server burnt the sugar a bit.
Amazing Quebec croissants, yummy family lunch, great latte coffee:) merci beaucoup!
Good quality baked goods but very stale when I went, I recommend going early to get them fresh. Nice coffee and overall environment.
Good choice of baked goods, coffees, sandwiches. Convenient location. Reasonably friendly staff. Prices are ok for a tourist area. Very clean. Lots of seating available.
Reminds me of the bakeries in Paris, though much larger. Enjoyed an excellent almond crescent. The brioche orange is very good. The coffee is strong and flavourful. Also recommend the apple tarts.
I love this place, great sandwiches and pasties. Unfortunately I can't eat everything they had, but I can try. Huge selection and very difficult to choose, because everything looks so good.
When we were planning our recent trip to Quebec City Paillard was a must see for us. It has been in the upper town QC a long time and just down the road from our hotel Hotel du Vieux Quebec. …
This area was a busy place to be in, their bread was especially delicious.
Croissant was excellent, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside and you can also taste the fresh butter! Just remind the staff to warm it for the 100% taste :) also, try the mushroom soup! Loaded with cheese and tastes thick - exactly how I like my mushroom soup to be. Take note that the staff are not so friendly, don’t expect any form of service!
I little bit overprice but the quality is there. This is not a artisan place, but it the quality is close to it. I ordered the sandwich combo with yhe Paillard salad, if you like blue cheese this salad is for you. The staff is kind and …
We had a wonderful breakfast on our last day in Quebec City. This bakery was wonderful! The food is premier you cannot go wrong with any selection but make sure you grab a glass of the OJ! It was so delicious!
I went to this place for pizza based on Google suggestion! There is no pizza but burgers. However, they had a good special. The place was almost full and seemed popular. More importantly a young male staff helped me finding other pizza places nearby. 5 stars mainly for the staff welcoming and nice assistance..
Croissants are delicious. Honestly every pastry is delicious. Go here! You won't regret it!
Excellent place for breakfast. They are busy but the line moves fast and the wait for table is relatively short. Visited 3 days in a row, tried different breakfast combos and pastries and found them very good. Excellent value. Really liked their coffee - strong but not bitter. Good service.
Prices are good, espresso only ok, pastries are delicious! Service can take quite a while when they're busy
Go here for breakfast every day. Real French experience.
Great atmosphere! So glad to see families and friends enjoying themselves here and I appreciate their excellent service! Food was so delicious I didn't take any pictures of what we ate!
Although the selection and asthetic of the place is quote appealing, the crowd and noise takes away from it. They should cap the capacity to preserve the vibe. Nonetheless the coffee was acceptable and food items good. I would not say great though. Maybe next time.
Amazing dishes with friendly service. The breakfast croissant combo and the sandwiches are heated with cheese melted is amazing.
Their gelato isn't great but they have the best sandwiches and soups. We also got a few macarons which were also delicious. Everything is freshly made at an affordable price. You order at the counter and seat yourself.
Nice pastries
Beautiful crispy and flaky pastries. Great seats in front to watch people walk by on the street and rummage through the garbage for empties.
Such a great stop. Living up to all the hype. Had 4 types of pastries. Nutella cookies, chocolate croissant, marzipan and …
We stopped at Paillard for quick breakfast on the way to walking tour. Everything you would expect from a french bakery in terms of menu selection. Simply tasty. Fast and straight forward service. Friendly and efficient staff. Nothing to complain about even if I wanted to. And I didn't. So there you go.
Delicious pastry
Best croissant in town!
Good quality bakery. Always fresh. Their is a good choice in the bakery section you can found some good sandwiches/soups/quiches. The quality is there but it's a bit pricy. Lots of fancy choices for the regular drinks but few in the alcohol section. The place is almost always noisy. Open area tables.
Delicious sandwiches and pastries in a fun atmosphere. Great spot for lunch!
I had my lunch here 3 days in a row while I was in Quebec City. Their croissant is amazing. They are crispy on the outside and super buttery and soft inside. I love their breakfast sandwich with eggs and ham on their croissant.
Always have excellent menusl
The pastries are awesome and there was one man who played some musical instrument. His song was perfect as well. People can take a rest in cozy space when they are looking around of city
Pastries where wonderful. Cant wait to go back
Everything was perfect except price. Lol Thanks so much that you to keep opening during this situation.
Simple menu. Great taste! Try the combo or/and anything in croissant, you would love it!
Popular spot for breakfast. The staff who took my order said he was in training, and was extremely nice! I moved down, picked up my pastries from a second staff and waited for the large coffee with two creams I had ordered. After 5-10 minutes watching multiple customers receive their order, I approached the second staff and showed him my receipt, asking about my coffee. He begrudgingly poured me a small black coffee and handed it to me with quite the attitude. Besides the service, the pastries are very good, and almost made up for the rest.
Kept coming back to this place during my short trip here. The combo of the day gives you plenty of variety. The little dessert bun with a coffee is a great touch to the meal. The croissant is best I've had in Quebec city too.
We grabbed a quick meal here while touring old Quebec recently. The sandwiches and soup were very good. The young man that served us was very friendly and didn't mind speaking English with us at all. We were quite full after the meal so we couldn't try any of the bakery items but they looked very good! There is a nice large seating area to accommodate lots of people and washroom facilities.
Definitely worth the wait. It has a big selection of pastries and sandwiches. Loved the chocolate croissant and the cheese sandwich .The only negative point was that :Coffee was Nespresso!
Fantastic place for pastries and coffee. I had the chocolate twist. A masterfully delicious long crispy pastry twist covered with large pieces of sugar and filled with loads of dark chocolate chips.
Must visit in Quebec City, excellent fresh products with an exceptional service ????
They have literally the best macarons I have ever tasted in my life. The store is also beautiful located on a magical little street in old Quebec. It was so beautiful.
Nice place for coffee and breakfast, usually long line sincr they open in the morning.
Pastries and sweets were great. Get your croissants here.
Seriously amazing pastries and breads. We had a variety of croissants and coffee - all were delicious. Our favourite croissant was the apple. There is a lot of seating. They also have soups, sandwiches and fresh baked breads which looked very tasty, there is also a gelato bar. The prices are reasonable and service was great!
We came by here often for sandwiches. This Boulangerie became our favorite stop after a day of sightseeing. We grabbed sandwiches, soups and a dessert to take back to the hotel for a meal. A nice change, and cheaper than going to a …
Fresh products and nice ambiance.
Good for pastries and coffee, but was hoping for more Breakfast selection. Unique interior, with an old Quebec feel. Could use more cleanup staff, as the tables were dirty. Would give a 4 star, but felt it was over rated overall.
We went twice for breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are delicious.
Great service. Ample seating. Great cafe au lait and cappuccino.
Great staff. Very polite even we don’t speak French Outstanding. Great food. Lots choose.
The pastries here are truly top notch. As are the sandwiches. I ordered the jambon beure sandwich and a cappuccino. My wife went with a chocolate croissant. Both were amazing. I wish I could eat here every single morning.
Great pasty and coffee ☕ shop.
Love their pastries and capuccino!
Quick service great food
Excellent pastries, great place for breakfast, but there will be lineups especially on the weekend. Croissants are amazing! Service is great, and there is abundant seating.
Great interior setting! Loved their hot chocolate.
Large selection of amazing delicious pastries and desserts. They also sell soup sandwiches and salads but we didn't try those. Always seems busy. Get there early if you want pastries cause they sell out!
Nice place for breakfast. Patesseri was quite busy in the morning. Croissants were great.
Incredibly delicious!
I'd put 6 stars. Excellent! Infinite choice of bakeries. Great place for breakfast.
Generally a good option for a quick bite in the old city. However, they really skimp on the ingredients at their price point. Sandwich with “apples and brie” had very little of either. Also very noisy and busy inside, I recommend taking food to go and enjoying it in a more pleasant setting.
Came here twice during a trip to Quebec City - once for pastries and once for sandwich/soup. Both were very delicious and the service was fast and friendly.
The croissants sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon or ham is a brilliant taste. Québécois are really happy because they can have it anytime. …
For any tourist visiting Paillard, a word of caution. The food is horrible and takes ages to be served. Amidst the pandemic the staff is least bothered to wear gloves while preparing your tray. In fact a short walk from there try La Maison Smith that serves you warm food and great coffee.
Easily one of the best beef sandwiches Ive ever had. The bread of the sandwich was the star of the dish as it led me to want more after each bite. Fresh and crunchy. What more could you ask for ?
Was really great had great food and great service I would totally suggest this place to eat
Awesome bakery on Old Quebec. Worth the line ups so don't chicken out.
Best coffee, delicious pastries and sandwiches!! Thank you ????
Great place for fresh early morning croissants and other baked goods.
Very busy specialty bakery. They specialize in baked goods, and breads/sandwiches. Their breakfast croissant sandwich was amazing. It was so flaky and buttery, and mixed in with the egg had that creaminess to it. Their pastries were also to die for. Highly recommend!
Loved the croissant here. These very crispy outside and soft inside. They also offer a variety of other bakery items, sandwiches, soups and salads. Only a few items are vegetaraian though.
They have very very good sandwiches and pastries.
I can’t imagine living somewhere nearby this place. So much craving. So much tempting.
Unfortunately disappointing as the croissants tasted stale/mediocre. I think this says more about the current climate (COVID, off-season) than it does about the restaurant. Regardless, when we tried to get the smoked salmon on a croissant …
I visited on Monday morning for breakfast. The line was somewhat long and had to wait 15 minutes to order. …
Went to the Paillard for breakfast. The croissants were really good, but everything they put into the breakfast croissant sandwich was second-rate. The coffee was pretty bad, like Maxwell House or Folgers. There are better places in the neighborhood.
Their baked goods are delicious (especially their croissants)! It's a great place to grab some breakfast if you're in town. It does get pretty busy though, so I would recommend going in the morning when things are still hot and fresh.
Highly recommend ????
Best dessert I have ever in my life! 10/10 Must try the napoleons!!!
Wonderful bakery/patisserie to get some fresh baked goods for breakfast. If you want to enjoy the European vibe of Old Quebec, this is worth a stop for a quick bite or a morning breakfast.
A very nice cafe with the best creme brule! They also have nice warm drinks and pastries.
Incredibly delicious pastries. Just wow. Great value for price.
Bough Couple of things, taste was good but nothing great We find it bit pricey too ok experience
Everything I had here is delicious!
Great pastries. Should visit if you are in Quebec city
Their coffee is good. But you need to have their croissant or croissant sandwich. Amazing
They are one of the best bakers in town. Being that, one would expect really good baked goods such as Croissants, muffins, sandwiches etc and they sure do kit disappoint! …
The best place for lunch. Their sandwiches are creative and tasty. I got their combo meal which is a half sandwich, a small dessert, a small drink, and a soup for 13$ with tax. My sandwich was brie, lettuce, mayo, and apples and it was delicious. The soup I got was broccoli and cheddar and it was sublime. The flavours were so rich and comforting. My boyfriend took my dessert so I can't vouch for that but he really enjoyed it :P The only problem is the inside of the store is boiling! I can't imagine eating inside on a warm sunny day. Service is quick and efficient which is impressive given the demand. They separate the counters for baked goods and lunches.
What impressed me was their butter, the croissants were good, and I enjoyed the broccoli soup! But the coffee wasn’t outstanding.
Mind blowing pastries, good price, lots of variety
I love bread and French pastries in general. As soon as I got to Quebec city I knew I had to try something. Saw the overwhelmingly positive reviews on yelp and decided to try it. Wasn't disappointed in the least. Tried some berry sweets, brownie cake and bought a baguette on the go. Everything tasted really good! Only thing I can complain about is the interior. Somehow it feels too plain. I'd go back for the food, but not the place itself.
Great chocolate croissants‼︎Definitely coming back here again.
Croissants was my disappointment. It's way far away from fresh great croissant, more like 1 or 2 days old((. Coffee a bit overburdened and not smooth.
For Croissant or any bakery goods, no one gets it in Canada like Paillard. Dont miss out on thoses deliciousness of butter and flaky goodness
Amazing place! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had
The chocolate croissant taste really good!
This a counter pick-up bakery cafe. This is top notch fast casual dining. Wine and beer are available along with coffee and full range of beverages. The pastries will tempt you to order more than you should, but go on and treat yourself.
My wife and I keep coming here every time we come to Quebec. If you've not yet experienced what a real croissant feels and tastes like, I strongly recommend it. Cappuccino to die for and pastries that are handmade hourly. Breakfasts and sandwiches made to order in good time.
Get the ham and cheese croissant. It kept me and my wife fueled for most of the day!
Great sandwiches, and a place for a quick bite. They had a large selection of pastries too for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Amazing bakery. Every pastry you can imagine. Good coffee and breakfasts with a European atmosphere.
Loved this place. Our breakfast was quickly prepared and delicious. Coffee was great. The staff is friendly and efficient. The selection is quite broad with something to suit just about anyone.
I had their famous croissants which very light and flaky, and later had their chocolatine with a cube of dark chocolate in it. It is a budget friendly place in a touristy area, but there are many locals here who come here for their daily lunch and specials. Also, there is wifi and charging spots for working on your computer, however I found it too busy for that purpose. But do buy their butter croissant if you are in the area.
A bakery with variety of pastries with my favorites like macaroon and millefeuille. And cafe that serves sandwiches, salads. There was also corner that served ice-cream and gelato. The macaroon was reasonably priced about CAD$2.50 each. The millefeuille was very nice, pretty sweet to my taste. But a great bakery to visit for an afternoon coffee/tea break before adventuring for more places to see in beautiful Quebec city.
Good coffee and cappuccino. We appreciate the chocolatine croissant, very tasty. The place is crowded, and our clerck was tired and not smiling
Good pastries we collected at end of the day. Creme brulee was certainly genuine and pleasant. Eclairs were nicely assembled with delicious flavour combinations , soft chewy choux and tasteful crunch elements.
Delicious breakfast croissant sandwiches ???? have been here before and make a point to return every time I visit Quebec City
The pastries were old ( Dulce de leche) The cheese bun bread was old as well. It was like biting a dough ball. The coffee was awful. Guys, please clean the washroom! It was all filthy.
Nice bakery to visit in Old Quebec. They have a wide variety of breads and pastries to choose from and coffees as well. The Croissant is what we went for and it was good but nothing spectacular until they heated it up on a Ham and Cheese …
This place was one of 5 Restaurants we stopped in during our Old Quebec City Food Tour we too last June during our 3 month trek across wonderful Eastern Canada. Our tour guide claimed they had the best croissants in town and we all agreed. …
Delicious croissants and pastries but only if you go early enough. If you go before they close the croissants are mediocre.
Their line is extremely long... we arrived at 10 and we ended up at cashier at 10:30 and it takes another 10 mins to pick up the order. But I can’t complain anything because they offered an extremely high quality of food with reasonable …
You can't walk in here without your nose falling in love. The fresh baked bread and sweets are delicious and priced well. There is also gelato and of course coffee drinks. We enjoyed the combo with comes with a breakfast sandwich, very small fruit cup and a coffee or juice. The restaurant can fill up and get busy quick, so we took our food to the park by the old jail and ate in the morning sun. Beautiful day.
Fast, but not fast food. The lunch combo is a lot of food. I had quiche and soup with bread, cafe au plait and a bite sized dessert. In addition I got a pear and chocolate pastry that was wonderful. Too much for one meal. They had too many pastries and beautiful desserts top choose from.
Prepared food is top notch, especially the salads. It's a great place to have breakfast although the menu is pretty standard. Most of the ingredients appear to be fresh, but not all. The bakery is good, not great. Croissants could be …
Very tasty
Firendly staff. Great taste of croissant ham and cheese. Cuppucino also recommended.
Super slow staff, anysmall order takes for hours
Amazing fresh pasteires , friendly staff, beautiful environment
We stopped by here for a couple of sandwiches and I have to say that we left very disappointed. The bread was the best part but the staff working there are incredibly rude. …
Great place for baked goods but their salads are over priced and severely disappointing.
Got our daily croissant fix here every day....they're ready and fresh at 9am every morning. Also definitely try the cinnamon rolls, almond croissant, Paris Brest is to die for...so are the eclairs. Very sweet lady at the counter who answered all our questions. ????
The food is incredible. Very cool ambience. Prices are fairly reasonable.
Super delicious! Make sure you have some time as lineups can take awhile to get through. I recommend the combo Matin. You will not regret this!
Servers - friendly enough - not the best tho Cinnamon roll - not recommend The rests are all five stars! Even americano five stars
Delicious food, great communal family friendly atmosphere.
A fantastic place for breakfast with a great selection of croissants, pastries, macarons, preserves, cakes, and breads. We waited over 40 minutes in line, but it was well worth it.
Just average croissants place, nothing special, one downside is that they don’t serve you the hot tea but give you tea bag and you have to go to another counter to ask for hot water. But cozy environment, worth to spent some time here when you get tired of exploring the neighborhood
Highly recommend going in the morning and getting everything you want as it gets support busy later on and they run out of stuff. This place is amazing and a must go to when visiting the city. Pastries are top …
So what do you look to eat when you are in a place with very strong French influence? Definitely good boulangerie items like croissant. Having read multiple recommendations online, this appeared top of the list almost all the time so when …
Great spot for breakfast & lunch! Fantastic food
Love the creme brulee.
I had a great smoked meat sandwich, followed by delicious dessert. They have many, many choices and something for everyone (who likes bread based things!)
Amazing place to grab breakfast. Also the croissants are a must try
Great little stop along St-Jean. All of the baking looks marvelous, but definitely enjoyed the 'New Yorkaise' sandwich. Well organized for COVID and a good spot to warm up your confinement walk in Old Québec.
Great spot for a quick breakfast sandwich and tons of breads and sweets too. Delicious and fast
Amazing croissants. Regular or chocolate you won't be disappointed.
We were looking for some bakery products and walked into Paillard. The bakery had variety of products from muffins, cakes, croissants, sweet breads, pies. It has a set up to eat in there. We picked croissants n apple pie and they were fresh and very tasty.
Great location in old Quebec. Pasteries were delicious!!! Only complaint was they didn’t have a croissant sandwich without meat which was disappointing and no herbal tea. When we picked a caffeinated tea it was just a regular store bought brand. But overall nice place!
Excellent pastries, croissants, baguettes. Can get super crowded, especially with tour groups of 6-10 arriving at once, if you are coming after 9.30am, so be prepared to wait in line!
Delicious croissant, fresh and buttery. Go for the sandwich with hollandaise, worth the calories. Beautiful selection of flaky pastries, how do you even choose?! Surprisingly affordable considering the location. Filled with a mix of locals and tourists. Lots of seating - good for eat in or take out.
Delicious and delicious!!!! OMG ^^
Great place for a quick lunch
Best croissants in the city! Service was slow but the food more than makes up for it!
This bustling bakery is rightfully famous for its croissants and other classic pastries, as well as for its heartier sandwiches and soup options. We always try to get at least one breakfast here, and once you figure out how the line ups work, it's well worth the wait - the friendly and efficient staff will have you served in next to no time. The cafeteria-style seating may not feel cozy or intimate, so you can try to grab a smaller table, but the timing has to be right. Regardless, it's well worth navigating construction just outside and waiting in the queue to experience this food, and I've no complaints about the coffee either :)
A great space and delicious sandwiches and desserts
We really enjoyed our breakfast and fully intend on going back. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The were much busier than usual, so tables weren't being cleaned and the dirty dishes were left to pile up. I highly recommend this place.
This place is great! Wonderful staff.. and the pastry!! Disappointed we found it on our last day in the city.. absolutely fabulous! Plus they have iced coffee which seems to be hard to find!!
Very good quality in the food. Quick even when the place was packed. Coffee is delicious. Glad we got to try this place out.
Very congested, very long wait even just for coffee and pastries. Cappuccino and cafe au lait were the same somehow. Croissant ???? was very good. Eclair had an unexpected chocolate filling, which was good but would have preferred the normal kind.
This place offers fantastic coffee, great croissants, bread and ready to eat meals. We bought breakfast that we ate onsite in a family style long table dining …
The lunch special is a rip off, the only allow you to pick you beverage and soup or salad. They will offer you a half a turkey sandwich which isn't filling at all and is not worth what you pay for.. Do not order it!
Our must stop in Québec city!
The food is okay nothing special it's mostly the place itself it's nice like a canteen in a classi way
This is a must stop shop for baked goods and it’s perfectly located in a central area where all the shops are. Would highly recommend getting their chocolatine and chocolate almond croissant ????????
Excellent smoked meat sandwich
Good place for pastries. Only as single washroom for the entire place though
The food was good but the selection was sparse there were very few items left to choose from
great place. good selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Lots of hot and cold drinks. place is very clean and ample seating. very nice atmosphere. Covid precautions were well above my expectations.
Good pastries with a nice environment. Service is great as well.
Pastry heaven!!! Had a chocolate brioche….. super yummy!
I enjoyed my breakfast over there. Fresh and tasty bread, croissant, and gateaux. Staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.
One of my favourite stops in Quebec City! Thé macarons are always amazing and the pastries are scrumptious!
Lovely pastries. They had great customer service and spoke English well, so they were quite accommodating. Their fresh pastries were amazing, and I personally had their combo matin, a croissant filled with all kinds of goodies and fruit on the side. It was amazing.
On the expensive side, paying 15 CAD after tip for a sandwich. It is however a pleasant environment to sit in if not busy. In my case was late afternoon
Best pastries in Quebec. Dont miss their butter croissant.
Great food! Very rich and flavorful. Definitely recommend trying this bakery when visiting Quebec!
Amazing food and highly recommended.
Totally disappointed with Paillards' new approach to business. Never know when or if it's open. Lack of personnel? Not sure. Used to be a faithful customer, not any more. Last night, first visit in months just by chance-saw it was open till 8 rather than 5, 6 or 7. At 7:45, an employee turned on the noisiest vacuum cleaner I've ever heard to incite any remaining customers to eat and drink up & leave - the employee found it quite amusing that we were disturbed by this unprofessional reminder that it was closing time.
The afternoon we came in, the croissant was stale but the chocolatine and hot chocolate were divine. Very festive atmosphere, with staff in Santa hats. Plus bonus points for not switching to English with us :) Just wish we had gotten a good croissant.
A beautiful establishment in Quebec City. The food and bread and pastries made on the premises. Extremely clean as well as friendly staff. A must visit if in Quebec City.
A very beautiful place in middle of the city. Marvellous looking view through the street while having your early coffee and breakfast. …
Probably one of the busiest bakeries in Quebec City - there was a line when I arrived but it moved quickly. There’s a large selection of pastries as well as a separate section for hot foods. There are plenty of tables to sit down and eat. I tried a croissant and an almond cake - both great but not out of this world. Drop by for a treat!
Love this place food is soo good and the baking is amazing
Unpretentious bakery and café in Quebec City. You can't go wrong with their macaroons, croissants, and a café au lait. They even have a gelato bar now. We always stop by while in QC. A star off though from my original review since upkeep has not kept up, floors are usually dirty and has tissue and other garbage without the staff cleaning it up periodically. The washrooms are also upstairs and it's not a few steps up but a good 30 steps up. Not the most accessible of washrooms. They also close their doors an hour early before their posted time to start cleaning. Begs the question, why dont you just change your hours to avoid confusion. Hope they improve these things to avoid tarnishing their good baked goods.
Great spot for pastries in Vieux Quebec. The pastry display is amazing!
The pastries here are really good. Most of the workers speak decent english. The lunch I had was pretty good. I wasn't too impressed by the sandwich I had, but it was still good. I would recommend getting the pastries and maybe skipping lunch here
No gluten-free bread at all, even though it comes up in a search for same!
Absolutely great food. But the mosquitoes in the display kind of kill the appetite
This place was recommended by one of the cycling info people and we are so glad we asked! Its exactly what we were looking for. They serve soups and sandwiches at very reasonable rates. The food is excellent, fresh and served on a platter …
Popular location for delicious French pastries. Long line up during busy hours. Clean and comfy seating area inside the restaurant.
I got combos for a lunch Half sandwich, salad, beverage and macaroon were a good combination
All the pastries were delicious, the ham and cheese croissant sandwich was gone in an instant, the croissant was buttery and flaky. The dining area was spacious and there's a choice to eat outside too. Would have gone back for more sandwiches but the line to order at that time was getting long. Definitely recommend ! 5 stars!
Really liked the cafeteria style seating in this bakery. The bread was really nice, and so were the buns and croissants. The soup and sandwich was fairly disappointing though, especially for the price paid. The sandwich itself was very small and could have had more toppings. If I do come back here it won't be for lunch, it will be for the pastries. The staff was nice and accommodating.
amazing selection , big place, quality products and lovely staff
Great food, not too expensive for Quebec but still relatively pricy.
Always go to when in Quebec City. Best croissants in Canada after Paris France. Sandwiches are good as well.
Gelato was delicious and the bread is really good. Fair prices. Accepts credit cards. Very busy and bustling though!
Love this bakery/cafe! The variety of pastries is stunning, the bread outstanding, the cafe options more limited but very tasty, the hot chocolate excellent! Don't be put off by the long line at the pastry counter, it moves rapidly. Decorated beautifully for Christmas!
Came here for lunch and it was great. Service was okay but the vibe and selection is fantastic. Definitely recommend visiting at least once!
Stopped in for a pastry and a dessert for our Christmas Eve celebration. The line went quickly and the pastries and dessert were delicious!
Very good food and service. A little expensive but the experience worth it.
Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast croissant.
Really amazing croissants and coffee!
Little slow on the service but worth the wait.
Not bad place to grab a bite, but just average eats. The place is a little cafeteria like, and they have a really weird way of providing service. There is a line up for everything, and it is slow. They need to come up with a new way to get food to their customers.
Food is very good, I love my salmon sandwich and tatre au citron, but the line is huge and pretty slow, I'm not sure if it worth it
Best croissant I've ever tasted!
A friend recommended this place so we came to check out their croissant matin that they are famous for. I ordered one with bacon and wow! The croissant was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside (because of the bacon grease and …
We stopped in here on a food tour and had a delicious croissant!
Superb. Fresh, delicious food efficiently served. Note new opening hours because of 'shortage of manpower'.
A must visit when we’re in Quebec City! The pastries and meals made to order are like chicken soup for the soul. …
Really confused queue system. Annoying accordion playing and bowls of coffee instead of cups.
Nice bakery offerings and coffee for breakfast. Open earlier than a lot of other places around which is very handy for early risers like myself.
Atmosphere - nicer fast food setting Food - okay, nothing special Price - expensive for what it is Service - none
delicious food, great embiance, helpful staff. nice Xmas tree.
Good croissants but once cold they are not... Coffee & muffin were delicious There’s one side which is bakery and the other is sandwich. The sandwich people wouldn’t make coffees so when we wanted to order additional they said go back to bakery, despite having espresso machines and cash on their side as well. Love the French who are always living by principles, would not do things outside of their job description and do not like money!
Decent bakery shop. Coffee is just ok.
Great bakery, everything I tried here was delicious.
Bustling lunch place where you can also order pastries, coffee and ice cream. We had a buffalo chicken sandwich and a chicken chipotle sandwich which were both good. During lunch time, there was man playing live music on an accordion which added a nice touch to the place. Service was friendly and quick, prices were on par with other sandwich places and the quality was good.
A decent enough spot with some tasty sandwiches, but slow service and a really messy dining room make it hard to enjoy. Probably the worst bathroom I encountered in Quebec City.
Excellent to exercise and enjoy of vitamin N... Nature! ????????
Saw the fly touch the breads and felt sick. My croissant looked very different than the picture that was on the menu. It was very oily and soggy, and there was no crunch. I honestly thought that the croissants I bought from Costco tasted better.
Great atmosphere and the food was excellent. It was busy inside but their employees are very efficient and quite respectful. Definitely deserving of 5 stars. Would come back for sure
Great place for pastries. I don't like how the tables are displayed with covid 19, tables are too close with each other. Beautiful decor. Food is good.
Great pastries. Excellent coffee!
Eat the almond croissant
Absolutely worth a travel from Montreal. Their pastries and macarons are super fresh and delectable.
Croissant felt industrial.
Great pastries, fast service!
The corrisants are delicious! Best I've had possibly ever!
Great café and patisserie with lovely cakes and pastries. You can also have more substantial food and sit down at tables. Service is cafeteria style serve yourself, and queues can get quite long at busy times. The restrooms are quite a trek at the rear of the building.
Busy place at 7 am. Nice pastries.
Best bakery I've ever been to!
Excellent pastries. Their croissants are fantastic!
Perfect soup and sandwich spot. Coffee was good too. Busy spot but they’re very efficient with managing customer flows.
I had gotten out early to avoid crowds with Old Quebec, however in need of a coffee. I had searched for a boulangerie nearby and was delighted to see Paillard was open from 0700h. It was not busy at all and the members greeted me with kind …
Excellent.
Tried their most famous cheese ham croissant which was very good. The vegetable sandwich and soup was also nice. Macrons were too sweet so avoidable
Was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw all the options - croissants, macaroons, soup, sandwiches, gelato. It was busy but the service was fast. There was an accordion player which added to the ambiance.
Great place for a break. Excellent selection of something for everyone. Delicious bread, pastries and other desserts. There is a solid selection of sandwich, salad and soup. Lots of seating for small and large groups. Friendly staff.
Had a croissant and a pastry with coffee. All of it average, not sure what the fuss is and definitely not the best croissant.
Came here for breakfast while visiting. Luckily missed the line by a few minutes. All I can say is WOW! From the cappuccino to the hot chocolate to the chocolatine to the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. Seriously, had such a hard time deciding what to get. Can’t wait to come back!
We came here years ago, and on our recent trip to Quebec City we were pleased to discover that the quality is still the same. Amazing sandwiches on baguettes that are almost as good as the ones you will get in France. They also have …
Cappuccino was very good. I really enjoyed the chocolate eclair but the opera cake was just ok (though hubby liked it).
Came in for the first time just to pick up some treats to bring home. Service was quick and friendly. I liked that they had a huge selection of things to try. The space is welcoming seemed like a nice place to have breakfast or lunch. I thought the croissant and macarons were just ok. Our favourite things we got here were the pear and peach pastries and the croissant doré, which was something I've never had before and don't see often.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the bestest espresso I had. We had few types of breads, very smooth almond pastry and exquisite macaroons. Must visit. P.S. don't try the pear gelato here, bad choice.
A nice casual rainy shelter, like a friendly mother otter wrapping its arms around you, with yummy pastries but a long line. And Nespresso.
Great Pastries (Please try the Nutella donuts) - Amazing Breakfast Sandwich
This is a great place for desserts and coffee. They have a great selection of breads as well and they make sandwiches. We went late at night almost before closing, so it was pretty empty but it looks like it can get busy during certain …
Really nice place, great to sit a a huge shared bench as a tourist
Absoutley lovely bakery and cafe. The pasteries and baked goods are out of this world. Crossiant and baguettes are just straight addictive. My place to visit when in Old Quebec City...plus the ambiance of the place is just perfect. You will be happy you visited.
L.O.V.E this place. Amazing croissants and chocolatine - they crackled! Excellent cappuccino. Loved the communal style long bench table. Toilets - need to climb a few flight of stairs to get to the toilets.
The food was great as take out but the covid measures were awful, no distancing in place for the line up.
The pastries were good as well as the lunch sandwiches. However, the lady at the cash and those preparing the sandwiches didn't seem like they wanted to be there (no smiles, get your food and move on attitude). Really too bad as everything else was quite unique.
The croissant is good, however the service is awful. Coffee is just regular cheap drip kind for the price of real french coffee. Don't waste your money here, you will not enjoy it. Walk down a few doors to a small boulangerie that actually smells great.
The croissants delicious, almost sweet buttery smelling great and also the baggett. Enjoy their products so much.
Chocolate croissant taste nice, fresh crunchy and chewy. Coffee is okay. Good stop for snack and toilet.
Great concept and great atmosphere. The food is amazing. You can have a great breakfast or have a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate with amazing pastries, all for a good price. We are breakfast here every day for less that half the cost of breakfast in the hotel. And there is even free internet. You can also take your drink and pastries to go.
Awesome and womderful. Don't go there if you have any problem with good pastries and heavenly french cakes.
Absolutely amazing Croissants. Everything is fresh baked in store. Friendly staff. This was a bacon egg and cheese croissant. Going back for another tomorrow.
Good selection of pastries and a lot of seating available. But nothing “out of this world special”.
Best sandwiches in town. A must go cafe in you are in the city. There soup, salad, sandwiches are truly amazing.
I heard that the croissant is most popular here but I think ciabatta could be also good choice. Sandwich was little bit salty for me but still worth eating. If you are alone, the half sized one would be enough.
Lots of choices but very busy. Flow poorly laid out. Hard to see what they have available and order without holding up the line. Pastries were ok - a little dry. But taste was good
Woke up too early because we were jetlagged and found this place open at 7 am. Amazing pastries and breakfast. Go if you want some simple but perfect breakfast.
Sales associates were very helpful and nice. Great lattes and overall very cozy atmosphere in the shop.
Great sandwiches and chocolate croissants. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely coming back here again.
An excellant range of classic pastries, tarts, croissants & breads. As well as sandwiches, salads and drinks. I look forward to returning
Amazing pastries!
This place has everything you need to grab a yummy yummy bite to eat
Absolutely fantastic pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Cosy Christmas vibes and a comfortable spot for an amazing breakfast.
The best croissant in Quebec! Great coffee, great pastries and fast service! If you get their meal special the price is decent. However if you were as hungry as I was, it can get pricey. I had a sandwich, a soup, a croissant and a …
My one "must go" place whenever I come to Quebec city. "Combo du jour" is excellent if you want a complete delicious meal. The quiche is really crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Must try!
Great for bread/pastry lovers for a nice and relaxing breakfast/ lunch. Food tasted fine, service was quick, the only downside would be the bread being served was not reheated upon receiving. The bread alongside with the combo meals can be cold and soggy...
Very nice place and so many pastries to choose from. People were very friendly and the food was good. The chocolate scone like pastry was just a little dense but the strawberry beignet was good. Definitely recommend.
Touristy but delicious
First stop on first day. Gelato ok. Excellent pastry. However, I would prefer la Maison smith which is all over within the old town district.
Our last stop just before leaving Quebec was Paillard. And I mean what a gorgeous, scrumptious bakery this is. We so regret not having breakfast here everyday that we were in Old Quebec. I don't have enough words to describe how flaky their …
Busy Busy Busy.... Great place to get breakfast and pretty good prices
Great place for french pastries. Overall, the pastries are a bit soft, but if you can toast them in an oven, they are really great.
The best almond croissant and cinnamon roll. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Quebec City. We tried other stuff too and everything was amazing.
Cool treats! Great food! Long line short staffed (covid probably). Get there early.
Very delicious croissants. Will visit again when I next in town. Crossaints are very crispy and buttery.. can definitely compare with those I ate in France.
Must try for fresh bakery items and french inspired baked goods when in Quebec city .They also had amazing combos as lunch option that comes with side of soup and dessert along with sandwich and a drink. I loved their chicken chipotle sandwich that came with caramelized onions and roasted pepper.Simple yet super flavourful. Also tried their chicken bacon sandwich which is yumm as well. But do not miss on few of their freshly baked items... Don't recall the name as it was a difficult to pronounce french name but that perfectly crispy outside and chocolate filled cake like filling inside was an unforgettable taste. This bakery has great patio and is centrally located on touristy st. Jean road neat the frontanac...so visit this place and get your taste buds Uber happy ???? cheers.
Hot soup and sandwich are great on a windy September afternoon. The place is quite busy and crowded at around 12. A lot more seats available after 1pm.
Pastries are good, and macarons are delicious as well. I came here for breakfast and got the special of the day, which includes soup, half a sandwich, a drink, and a macaron. Came back for dinner and got a smoked meat sandwich, which was also delicious. The dining area is spacious and there are a lot of seats available and there is free wifi.
Warm baguette! Fresh, crisp and just amazing everything I got from here! Wow!!!
If you love bread and ice cream, this is where you go. Great and relaxing environment. Staff is very friendly. My toddler spilled my husband's coffee and they not only happily cleaned the floor but also brought us another coffee. Ice cream is phenomenal - our kids LOVED the selection and flavors.
Freshly baked croissants, tasty breakfast sandwiches and spinach pastry. I would skip the orange juice next time. Staff was very friendly.
Ordered combo matin and chocolatine. Great place. We came 3 days in a row. Loved it.
Good selection of bread & pastry. Not too sweet for sweet pastry. Hot breakfast is also available. Reasonable price, busy place.
Good food. Need more staff desperately they say. They don't have enough, so bring in your CV!
Found a piece of metal in the pastry. Very dangerous!!
Excellent bakery! Delicious pastries, perfect crossoints!
Long line but great food
Best cakes and pastries in Quebec City!! Cannot get enough of their creamy Tarte Tropézienne. Best lemon pound cake that I ever had. Awesome hot chocolate that warms your soul! …
My family loved everything about eating here except for the enormous amount of time we spent in line. To be fair, they were short staffed with hiring ads visible. We felt it was worth the 30 minute wait. Food was tasty, especially the macarons.
Very nice place. Great pastries and good coffee. Friendly staff.
Can't say enough good things about this place. It was the only place we repeated visits to during our trip because it was SO good. We had the ham and brie sandwich (warmed up) and it was amazing. Everything is so fresh, cute atmosphere if you choose to stay and the staff are super friendly.
Ok, but I thought it was expensive
A nice assortment of pastries, sandwiches, and coffee, could be a daily stop :)
Always rated one of the top bakeries in Quebec City and it definitely does not disappoint. Classic pastries are done to perfection. Only bad thing might be the crowds of visitors and long line ups to order but they are pretty efficient and get ting the queue moving quickly
Nice place in old quebec. Refreshing to see the pastries being baked at the front of the bakery. Espresso was a tad acidic still enjoyable. The chocolate croissant was good as well.
Pretty good croissant, bacon, egg and cheese. Awesome pastries and great coffee. We are going to take some deserts back home for surr.
Budget friendly store. Big serving for a decent price. One server has a little bit of an attitude but it maybe because of the store being busy. I omitted one star because it's not a go to shop for a quebec style delicacy.
Went there yesterday ordered a spinach sandwich, pastry and cappuccino. Loved every bit of it. Not only the food was delicious but the staff was very friendly too. We don't know french but they were kind enough to take time and understand …
Great bakery but the wait was very long
Good place for a quick bite. Sandwitches were good and they have a wide variety of deserts
It’s good to drink something while it’s snowing or raining, but my hot chocholate was not dark.
Had the combo matin. The croissant was nice and crispy along with the melted cheese was delicious. Also had a Dulce de Leche turnover which was also good.
We really enjoyed this place! We originally had it in our itinerary for 1 morning but ended up going 3 times during our week long trip in Quebec City! Their croissants are so delicious and fluffy. I’m not a coffee or tea drinker so I got …
Spectacular, high-quality, busy at all times. I highly recommend it.
This place is our go to every time we visit Quebec. They serve a great selection of baked goods and pastries. It is not too expensive and the food is delicious. You may find yourself waiting for a bit in line, and then again for your food if you visit later in the morning. But there's a good reason for the wait... and it's well worth it.
Excellent plece to enjoy a dinner
Awesome place for breakfast. Very good food at reasonable price. Highly recommend this place
Great atmosphere and delicious hot chocolate.
Frittata with bacon was pretty good. Also had a chocolate croissant, above average. Nice place for a quick brunch.
The croissants where out of this world. The kids loved them especially the one filled with almonds. Will go back next time we are in town
One of the first place I heard while visiting Quebec City was to visit this eatery on rue Jean Street. I had my breakfast here and they serve some real quick sandwiches , croissants …
Great good and variety more than anything. Friendly staff
Great bakery with an assortment of pastries. I had a chocolate almond croissant which was delicious! It has a cute family and cafe style seating area
Very busy with minimal staff. They said they didn't speak any English so we muddled through to order our croissants and coffee. Felt very uncomfortable as they seemed irritated we didn't speak french. We would have ordered a ton of baked …
It's a Cafe style atmosphere. Great food and Bakery. Cakes, baked good are amazing and they are reasonably priced certainly worth a visit ????
A must stop for the pastries!
This is a great inexpensive pastry and sandwich shop. It has long tables where everyone sits to eat. It is very good. I wish they had one in my country. I would be there every weekend. Btw they don't skimp on size either.
Great coffee great bakery and pastries. Delicious.
This is the best of three bakery cafes we tried while visiting Quebec City. Excellent quality and variety of food while being meaningfully cheaper than the other bakeries. A combo is $7.50, and most baked goods are around $3-4. Frankly after visiting this place, the only reason anyone would go to another cafe would be because they didn’t know Paillard existed. It’s that good.
Beautiful cafe with lots of seating inside. We tried the almond croissant and hot croissant sandwiches and everything was amazing. A must-stop for breakfast in Quebec City.
Good food nice atmosphere. I need to speak French better...but they kindly spoke English to me.❤️
Nice bakery. Great croissants. Macarons are good, but nothing special.
Best place for breakfast! They serve croissants, bagels, sandwiches, salads, soups and wide variety of desserts!
Awesome breakfast and treat place! Went back a few times to start our day exploring beautiful Quebec and also grabbed pastries, treats and breads to bring back home. Great service and wonderful food choices.
Love this large, but cozy bakery. Divine pastries, croissants, homemade sandwiches. Feels like a touch of France. You just order, pick up and pick a table. This is very popular in Quebec City. They even have a wonderful Paillard bowl for a steaming cafe au last. We went there multiple times, because we loved the feel of it and the quality. This is definitely a place to go when you want something to pick you up during your sightseeing. A fast service cafeteria like restaurant, Paillard is great for good coffee, small sandwiches or soups, and a place to meet other travelers.
Beautiful exterior and interior, with variety of good pastries. They offer Nespresso drinks. The staffs were friendly. …
They have breads and desserts... Meals... Something cold to drink...or hot....
Love the Macaron so much, also great price
Got some type of an almond pastry and an olive bread and it was pretty good. The staff on the other hand need more training. The lady checking us out did not understand a single word of English and the non French speaking customers in front …
Good points: big bakery with plugs to charge your phone which is helpful for tourists. Lots of pastries are available to choose from. Coffee is nice. …
A bit pricey, but their pastries are delicious. I got the mille-feuille Paillard, the cream was unbelievable.
Very Unhygienic, Flies all over the food. Not worth the hype.
Such a great bakery. Staff is really friendly and the selection is huge. The products are a bit more on the pricey side. Sandwiches are great, especially rosemary ham and roast beef. The fougasses were amazing. We had bacon&cheddar and brie, walnuts and cranberries. The apple turnover was really good and also the croissant.
My go to place when I visit Quebec City. The best baked goods by far. Croissants, pastries and baguettes are freshly baked all day long and are excellent. Excellent coffee to go along with the food.
Nice place for breakfast. Great food. Good menu. Less staff. Long lineup.
One of the best croissant you will ever try. This place in the middle of old QC, I originally had reservation going there, thinking that it might be one of those tourist trap but it definitely was not the case. The croissant is super flaky …
Great quality pastries and sandwiches. Friendly and polite staff.
Best pastry in town
Food was very good, friendly service
This is the next level bakery! Perfect place to stop for a breakfast ????????????
Amazing croissants and pastries. This is not a place to miss during a trip to Québec City. If I lived there I would definitely stop in for breakfast or lunch as often as possible!
The croissant was delicious but some waitresses doesn’t understand English. I wanted one sandwich and paid for it, but when picking it up the waitress says I need to pay again. So I paid twice and got two sandwiches. It was very confusing …
Busy place with good sandwiches and best croissants!!!
Delicious!!! So great !! So many options.Customer service is outstanding and they are happy to speak English...my French isnt so good ..tee hee . This is a big bakery with lots of tables. The croissants are soooo good ! Just go now .
Great spot for breakfast and lunch. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Line took a while but it was worth it.
Delicious pastry and salads!
I really enjoy their sandwiches, their bread is very yummy, croissants are good too. It's always really busy but they do as good a job as expected so that people don't have to wait too long.
Love this place. I always go here when I’m in Quebec City. My favourite is the baguette with just butter although it comes with jam. I tried the vanilla pear jam and it was pretty good. The chipotle chicken sandwich was also really good and so was the almond croissant. The sandwich took about 7-10 minutes but the few extra minutes were worth it.
I go here every time I'm in the city. Love the food. Love the service. The store always looks amazing and the friendly staff are always willing to help. And all the photos are on my camera so you'll just have to come see for yourself.
Great place in Old Quebec City. We first went there for their pastries and next day for breakfast and lunch too. The food is good and very reasonable with good quantity. They are fast and very organised. Loved going there. You may have to wait a few minutes to get a place to sit here.
Got the almond chocolate one and the apricot one. Both are nice, especially the latter!
No respect to COVID , I waited about an hour to get a coffee and a croissant this morning 5 September at 9 AM, during this time none of the employees cleaned any sitting area. They only had 3 staff on Saturday morning , customer were queuing outside, nobody was respecting social distancing, the staff had only 1 objective..selling ... no respect to COVID , the worst is I told a employee who knew about the situation, but was told by her boss to keep selling not cleaning, this bakery should be closed... , also there is much better bakery in Quebec City, the taste of their croissants and cakes are pretty poor.
This is a popular bakery/cafe within the gates of Old Town. The baked goods are very nice and service is great (service in Quebec City is very good in general). I took a star off for mediocre coffee. I took another off for 10 min wait in …
Lovely little place that sells high quality food for a reasonable price. Tried the famous croissant and liked it. Wish they had a more descriptive menu with suggestions.
Best place for a quick bite. Really tasty...worth the detour
Best breakfast place in quebec city, alway a long line tho, the croissant it's to die for.
Great food, excellent pastries. Very short staffed and a coupe errors in the orders. A little thank you to them goes a long way.
Croissants are sooo delicious, great selection, lots of pastries. For Croissants lovers definitely worth a visit. The pistachio macaroons had a lack of flavor and were very sugary, I wouldn't recommend. But for the croissants I'll be back for sure!!!
Just Amazing! You want to buy everything they have.
For breakfast can't do scrambled eggs??? Only one type of bread and coffee wasn't too hot, but the rest wasn't too bad that is why only a 3 start. Other couple got up and left as well. We were there several months ago and there dinner was good at that time.
