I come here often as it is so close by. In my opinion the produce here is better quality than what I will often find at the farmers market. The prices are good and often lower than other grocery stores. I was very happy with the salmon I have purchased here. It's a fairly small store but they still have a variety of things. Lots of different herbal teas as well.

Bought some honey tangerines the other day. Noticed that it was only weighed at 1.34Lbs. The cost of the tangerines was $2.48 per Lb. I was charged $4.56. This did not add up as it should be $3.32 as per the weight. I went back to ask about this and was told that it is what it is. People, check your weights when you come here so you don't get charged extra because they will not rectify it after the fact. @ Ben Thanh Supermarket management, if you wish to see the receipt, I still have it. Check your weigh machines and cashiers at check-out and check your cashier's attitudes. I talked to the same young man about this that cashed me out on this purchase after the fact. Extremely rude. It was only a few cents however, it is the principal of professional customer service that is critical.

This is market is owned and operated by a Vietnamese couple. It is named after a popular market in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). I note this because a negative reviewer called it a Chinese market. Not even close. I see some very negative reviews and comments about Ben Thanh that are completely unjustified, in my opinion. The produce and fruit are high quality. I can buy two bags full of oranges, apples, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes, maybe some spring rolls and a cantaloupe, for between $10 and $15. This is my go to place for fish sauce, rice and soy sauce. The prices are excellent. Lots of Vietnamese people shop here, which is a huge endorsement. There is a big selection of fish, and live crabs too. Ben Thanh is a great addition to the ethnic food offerings in Downtown Kitchener.

Pros: - Very decent selection of produce and products. Chinese/Viet/Thai/Korean/Philipino. Including fresh fish/seafood and butcher. - For the same products you can find here, T&T is usually 15~50% marked up. - Ample parking spaces. Cons: - Very narrow isles. - Smells like fish. - Bit out of the way if you don't live in Kitchener.

First time going into an Asian Market/Store. I asked for help to find something. Got it for me right away and was courteous and polite. It is a small building so it feels cramped however they have a lot of selection and had what I needed while New City Market did not. I will say overall I am impressed and have no complaints. However the fact they do not take Credit cards and payments under $10 cannot be debited which threw me off, a very old school system in my opinion... but I suppose it allows them to keep their merchandise cheaper. Which some of their stuff is SOOO much cheaper than Zehrs or No Frills aka. Your common grocery store

In the past few months I have got quite a few times of bad experience with the fruits they sell such as pineapple, watermelon...I am sure they they know the product is not good but still sell it to customers. Although it looks cheap when you have to throw the whole piece away it waste you 5 dollars or so. The quality of products and services of b &T is getting worse and worse

I like the produce, and many of the fruits and vegetables are unique, and I can't find them elsewhere. Looks like they stock many caribbean items as well as asian. The meat and fish area always makes me curious about the different seafood, and possibility of cooking a full chickens with their head and feet still on them. The aisles are close, and it is hard to identify the items on the bottom of the shelves without stooping and looking. I regard visiting here as an adventure.

Very good store with very good prices . I have to edit this . Lately meat here as well as in many other stores is now loaded with water .. or God knows what . I bought meat here for over 2 years and I could fry it in the frying pan ,but now as soon as I put it to fry water gets out of the meat and instead of frying meat is cooking in it's own water . Shame . Very disappointing . I don't know if it is a store owner that is loading meat with water or owner does not even know that maybe their meat supplier is loading it with water .

I went to BT in the morning today to buy so many food but when I cash out, I asked the cashier that How much is it for the Chinese sausages, I saw the price marked $4,99 each on the shelf. However, she yelled at me that NO! It's $5,79. You want it or you dont want it? This is extremely bad attitude with the customer. I just want to check the price because it doesn't clear when you marked the price. The Manager should train their staffs again to treat customers better.

Went into this grocery store to grab 3 things to make a soup. There was a huge line up with only 1 cashier working. I stood in the line holding a 25 pound baby. When she rang though my items she said I would have to go back and buy more cause my bill was not $10 it was $7.45 to use my debit I had to spend $10. I explained that I didn't need anything else and had already been in the store for a while waiting in line and needed to go could she please just let me use my debit. I ended up leaving with nothing. I drove all the way across town with a baby for nothing I will never make that mistake again. I will not return nor will anyone in my family.
