Managed to make it just before their closing time. Ordered the Cod & chips; the fish which is cooked well with very light batter and the chips is tasty as well! The food is prepared fresh and cooked at right temperature that’s why is not too oily. For sure will visit again soon

best chip shop around!! if i go to a chip shop i have to come here the fish is absolutely delicious its so flaky, proper fish and the batter is fabulous not to thick nice and crispy and i had some chips tuesday and they was to die for!! The ladies who work there are really polite and cheerful there's always banter in there when i'm in on friday night. keep up the excellent fish and chips see you again shortly and to anthony green you shouldn't leave a 1 star if you've not even been its not fair on the reviews they deserve a 5*

Best chip shop ever if you like old style English fish and chips. The staff are really friendly and the food always tastes good. The only problem is the fact there open everyday at lunch time but only open Tuesday, Thursday's & Friday nights in the evening.

Tried this chip shop today with my daughter and oh my god it was the best!! We had mini fish chips and peas and you can tell it’s quality fish it was delicious and they told us they soak their own peas over night they was the best mushy peas ever . The chips had just come out so we had everything fresh I will tell my friends to definitely try this chippy. We will be back . The service was excellent very chatty, happy smiley staff

Tightest chippy you'll ever go to. £2:90 For large chips that would be a normal size anywhere else. Normal size wouldn't feed a child and they're £1:80. Rip off.

What a wonderful chippy. staff are so lovely and cheerful. beautiful fish and chips me and hubby thought we've heard lots of good things about it so we thought we'd give it ago and definitely the best chippy the fish was deliciously cooked to perfection nice crispy batter and thin just how we like it. Mini fish,chip and peas was a winner we ate every bit and was stuffed. Good portion sizes and what a bargain for quality was 5* all the way .thankyou very much we will be returning

I have relatives in the area and so go to this chippy about once a year, it's by far the best locally. There's usually a huge queue out of the front door, which shows its reputation. As well as fish 'n' chips does pies, sausages, fish cakes, etc. It's a proper chippy though - no burgers or kebabs. I'm a haddock man, and they will readily cook haddock rather than cod if you ask. Haddock & chips = £6.10.

Excellent food. Moved to kimberley about a year ago and we've tried other chippies in the area but this one by far is the best! The staff are so polite and always smiling the fish is excellent and proper mushy peas cannot fault anything super service. we will be back for our weekly fix . Thankyou

The best chippy I have ever been to we couldn't decide to have gravy or curry with our fish and chips so we had both And wow the batter is beautiful and tasty and light. Delicious curry sauce and the gravy has mushrooms and onions in nom nom. I spoke to the owner and she is lovely and chatty and loves what she does and it so tells in the food. Excellent food and service with a smile will be coming here regular now ????????????????

Dont cook stuff untill you tell them what you want and its really small so they shouldnt do that and they just wrap the food dont ask you if u want salt and vinegar and if you arnt careful they will put it on your peas or beans not chips and it should b salt 1st then vinegar

Best chippy by far. Can't fault it. If you can't see what your wanting just ask and they'll be happy to cook it for you. Always busy and have fresh cooked chips coming out the fryers. One of the longest standing businesses of Kimberley and if it wasn't any good it wouldn't still be there!!! P.s. everyone has different ways of putting it on but, it's vinegar before the salt because salt sticks to the vinegar!!!

Cannot fault anything chips was fresh so tasty,quality food you can tell. Outstanding 5* certainly applies at olde english chippy in kimberley on James Street. The staff is very friendly and the owner seems to take pride in what she does there was about 5 of us waiting for fish I could hear people saying put me a large fish in. I had a standard and that was big enough so might have to try a large next time to be greedy . I took a photo I will post it on here. Excellent once again! thankyou
