A great variety of freshwater tropical fish, they also have frogs and turtles! the person that works at the store is friendly but not the most enthusiastic. The one knock I have against the store is that I saw a betta in a tank filled with anglefish and his fins got nipped. the Betta selection isnt that huge and pretty but they do have a couple of nice ones.

Rude and unhelpful on phone both times we called. Thought we accidentally called wrong number because they just answer with an irritable ‘Hello’ with no acknowledgement that you’ve reached an actual business. 2nd time we called, same person answered and was equally irritable and unhelpful. I’d much rather support independent business as opposed to the big chains, but we received extremely poor customer service both times we tried to support Kildonan Pets. There will be no third try for our family.

Very healthy fish stock and surprising variety for such a small community pet store. The focus here is definitely freshwater aquariums, I don't think you'll find anything for any other animal except maybe basic reptile or amphibian stuff.

I've been going to this pet store for probably 30 years now, its a much better option than the big box stores with teenagers who don't have the experience to guide people on purchases. The owner is great and the fish actually are healthy and last a long time. All good things A+++++

Apparently, if you want anything smaller than 10 gallons, you're not worth talking to, even when you have two little 4 year olds looking for the a new home for their fish with you. Move along to the next local pet store, this guy isn't too friendly... I also just did some price comparison shopping: Same tanks (brands, sizes and all) for more than 20% less at big box stores. Bad attitude and high prices means, steer clear

Great store and stuff but very crabby guy over the phone. Hopeuflly it's not the same gent who owns the place. And if it's not you might want to talk to him. Called for a question and replied with "no we dont" with a tone/attitude then I followed up with another question and the answer was straight up "No!". I even said thank you and he just hung up the phone faster than a guy Speeding down the highway.

Great prices, friendly staff, readily available help without being over bearing or hovering, good selection of different fish. The only down side I saw was that it was fish only. No other type of pet was available as far as i could see, having only been there 1x.

I've been an avid fishkeeper for over a decade, and have been going to this store since the beginning. It's my favourite fish store in the whole city. The selection is great (not just for fish and turtles, but plants and supplies too!), And everything is priced reasonably. Also this store carries the healthiest, hardiest fish in the city.

Do your research before going in and making yourself look like you haven't done any research. I will only buy fish from this shop. Definitely stay away from large chain stores for livestock.

Started going here a month or so ago when I decided it was time to refresh my old tank. First time he was very helpful in helping me find some good lights for my planted tank (He recommended Sun Blaster LED's from a hydroponics shop just down the street.) The next time I picked up some Black Neons from him, and unfortunately they developed Ick. The Neons did survive but I lost 9 other fish. I need to stress that this was not really his fault! Black Neons are prone to Ick and I really should have been quarantining them before putting them in my main. I absolutely share the largest part of the blame. Lesson learned, I now quarantine. I phoned him when the outbreak happened and he did give good advice, and the next time I came in he asked me about it and was concerned when I told him the outcome. I was very surprised when he gave me some Amano shrimp as compensation even though I didn't ask for anything! This is the kind of customer service that will keep me coming back again and again, very happy with my experience and I highly recommend going here. Also he has some really nice fish, especially the Guppies, great selection of Guppies. I also really like how he keeps the Bettas, they are all in community tanks and look very healthy and happy. I will be buying my Betta here when my nano tank is ready. And if you read this, all the critters I got from you are doing great, although I am a little irritated with one of the Nerite snails. Stupid bugger decide to crawl into my circulation pump and ground a chunk of its shell off. Still alive and acting like nothing happened, but looking a little worse for wear.

Winnipeg's locally-owned 'famous' Pet Shop, it's been there for millennia- and will be there for millennia more :) I was in Winnipeg for a few days for business, someone brought me to this shop- and I was truly amazed at it. The staff are all approachable and know everything possible to know about everything they sell. The selection of livestock is amazing, too; from turtles, iguanas, all kinds of fish from the other side of the earth, birds, creeping things, colourful things...with accessories and supplies to match. *livestock: all healthy; that's a big plus *prices were very fair I was told it was the 'go-to' pet supply shop for the entire Winnipeg Region. We drove 45 minutes to get there, and other customers had driven over an hour to buy a turtle. She said she "always" buys her pets from them. 5/5 bravo

One of the best hobbyist stores in Winnipeg. The owner has separate filtration systems for each tank, therefore preventing cross contamination of diseases from other tanks (means a better chance you get healthy fish)! The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. There's always a variety of species to pick from that is coming in on a weekly basis. Definitely worth checking out!
