We were passing by Lindsey and had to check this place out due to how great the rating is. First of all the atmosphere was amazing. Very British, feels like I'm in UK. Food was amazing, fish was very flavorful and very crispy. And the service was too notch! And not to mention the price was very reasonable.

This restaurant has a very warm and cozy feel inside and the exterior is quite charming. To place an order you read the menu at the front and pay before sitting - the food is brought over when it's ready. Overall, the fried food had good taste at good value! We got the haddock combo (1 haddock, a TON of fries, jalapeno shrimp, and coleslaw) with battered mushrooms on the side. The combo portions are quite large - it was a lot of food for one person especially being heavy fried food, we managed to share one combo between 3 people. Another friend got the halibut combo which comes with 4 pieces of fish - which would be a better option for sharing. It would have been useful to know how many pieces of fish came with our combos in advance from the menu. Everything served in good time, and tasted fresh. I would have liked the shrimps more if they were actually spicy but that's not a huge set back. The seating was rustic (we sat on wooden booths), but not terribly comfortable to sit on for a long time.

Our family has been eating here since 1997 and have always been made to feel welcome and part of the "White" family. Since Doug and Joan White passed on, their son Tim has taken over running the family restaurant. Our granddaughter loves the fish, friendly conversation and feels right at home. Smiles are in abundance and the food is great! Friendly staff only add to the pleasure of visiting here. We wish Tim all the success in the world keeping this family tradition going and we hope to be eating at Ziggy's for many years to come!

Awesome fish shop..offering many delicious and unique dishes..my personal favorite is the deep fried mushrooms and clams..yummy! Not greasy, light and very tasty. Nothing is pre made, always fresh. Take out offered as well. Super staff. Very affordable. Light batter.

Thanks to family tradition, I have been coming to Ziggy’s since before I can even remember. The classic decor is so nostalgic to me and I am very glad they’ve kept the place mostly the same as it’s been for over two decades. That being said, everything is always kept completely clean and proper and the design and feel of the place does not feel dated in the slightest, it feels like home. The service is always impeccable, the staff is extremely polite and attentive, and they always create a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere that makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. I haven’t even mentioned anything about the food yet - it is without a doubt in my mind the best fish n chips in the Kawartha Lakes. Whether you decide to get the haddock, cod, or halibut, you will not be disappointed. My personal favourite depending on the time of day is either the halibut lunch special or the halibut dinner special. Both come with a hearty serving of golden crispy house cut fries, hand battered halibut fillets fried to a perfect flaky crisp, all to order, with creamy green coleslaw. (The dinner special comes with a slice of fresh home baked bread that is to die for.) If you are craving a plate of perfectly crispy fresh cut fries, flaky crispy hand battered fish, and service with a smile all for a surprisingly reasonable price, do yourself a favour and take a trip to Ziggy’s. - C.W. Excellent quality fish & chips. Placed a take out order by phone and it was ready in 10 minutes. Service was friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing, a dinner meal with full piece haddock, chips and coleslaw. The batter is light and airy and the fish excellent quality. The oil must be kept fresh because there was no aftertaste. Highly recommended - I’ll be back for sure.

It's the same decor and atmosphere which I have enjoyed for two decades or more. The current Management are two blokes whom are VERY FRIENDLY and their SERVICE to THEIR CUSTOMERS is OUTSTANDING. Headed out for a boat ride on a sunny Saturday and ended up in Lindsay. Tied up the boat and walked into town for a quick bite to eat. We ended up at this “hidden gem” called Ziggy’s Fish & Chips. We were greeted by a friendly chap named Tim who we found out is the owner. The food was very good and the service was great. Two thumbs up to you Tim...AWESOME!!! We’ll be back for sure.

Have never been more disappointed with a fish and chips place, chips were to oily and soggy and there was hardly any fish inside the batter. Why to have an over length batter when there is no fish inside. Not sure if chips / fries was this way due to it being a take away or they generally are this way but there can be no explanation for how the fish was done. The service was good but the food spoiled it big time.

This family ran restaurant is very friendly with food that hits the spot when you're craving for fish and chips. Very generous with their portions and the owner pays attention to detail, just enough to make you feel special even though we don't visit that often. If it wasn't so far away we would definitely eat with friends and family more often.

I went here to get a takeout order. Some people were in front of me and some arrived when I did to eat in. The man working the counter was friendly and efficient, my food was ready in about 5 min. The fish was excellent (and a large portion). The fries were good but a bit soggy by the time I got them home. It should be noted that this shop has an extensive Scottish menu that might be of interest to some. The only complaint I can come up with is that their online menu is outdated.
