I am the owner of this store, I have just taken over this store 3 years ago. I appreciate all your reviews and honesty and try to make my customers as happy as possible. As for the negative reviews about the chinchillas and Betta fish, I was unaware of both these problems and if I'm unaware how am I able to fix the problem. If I was aware I would of replaced the betta fish and done a return and fixed the situation with the chinchillas. Here at Trent Pet I bend over backwards for my customers but I can't help when I'm unaware!! Thank you.

We have been in this pet store a few times the staff does not seem to be trained as well as they should be the knowledge on the products is unfortunately not there they always recommend to come in when the owner / manager is there I don't blame the employees they are doing their best for minimum wage and always polite and friendly I think maybe a little more training is needed some of the prices are a bit inflated but can be expected from a small store and they do have lots of products to choose from definitely worth a look

Really great store if you are looking for toys and accessories for small/exotic pets. Not a lot of variation when it comes for treats and toys for dogs though. Other than that, I really appreciated how much they helped me when I got my first ferret from them.

By far one of my favorite pet stores in the Kawartha lakes. Fairly good selection. Extremely Friendly staff. Good knowledge from the owner and he is willing to order some extra anything whenever he does not have it in stock.

Recently just got a little silver ferret from here that they put on a 24 hour hold for us which already was such an amazing thing for a first time customer. We drove all the way from Brampton as it's almost impossible to find ferrets during COVID in the GTA. The gentleman that helped us (I think he is the owner) was so pleasent to talk to and very knowledgeable about ferrets. If I lived in the area I would 100% be a regular customer. Thank you again for everything!

Fish tanks were absolutely disgusting! Filthy and covered in black hair algae. I would never buy anything aquatic from this store. Its a shame because they had some very interesting fish there.

Alex has been so helpful with all my questions and the time he takes to make sure I have everything and that all my questions get answered. Friendly and clean. Never had and issue there, great customer service and advice. Lots to look at or just simply visit. I think the biggest thing that bugs me is the kittens they sell. I would love to see them come from a shelter- fixed etc since there is already a cat over population in lindsay. But overall good care.

I'm not sure when the last review was made about the betta fish, but the new store owner was great he really did a good job with the renovations of the store. The animals are very clean and they changed their fish policy to seven days. He really help me out and educated me about my new fish, I will defiantly shop there again!! Thanks Trent pet!!

I'm going to be honest, I just went there to look at the critters, they had a nice selection, plenty of birds, fish, and exotics. They also had plenty of your favourite furry friends as well, including guinea pigs, puppies, ferrets, bunnies, and a ridiculously floffy chinchilla, if you want a critter of your own, or just want to look at them, I would suggest going. P.s. of course I gave them five stars, bunnies, lizards, baby turtles and a absurdly fuzzy chinchilla.

Decent pet store seems outdated looks like one i went to when I was 8yrs old 25 years ago. Staff are very friendly which gave the extra bump in stars. Not a huge selection of fish, 12 tanks with the same species in multiple tanks. Lots of parts and equipment, just no great show stoppers when it comes to fish.

Was a nice store. Went in and picked up some stuff for my guinea pigs. The one girl was extremely helpful running around helping everyone. But the other staff that was working was just sitting around playing with the puppy while all the customers including me were waiting to be checked out.

Not very satisfied, we tried to adopt a kitten here multiple times but never managed to get one. My father went in store once and was told the kittens were sold out, and at the same time, they told me online that they were available, and then said they were on hold? Not sure why we were refused service.. they also deleted my facebook comments and left my messages on read... questionable customer service :(

A little while back I bought what I was told was a white male chinchilla. So a few weeks back I decided it was time to get him a friend so I adopted another male chin (this one was grey). now my original white chinchilla is pregnant turns out he is a she and I can't keep the two in their some cage. Thanks alot Trent pets the chin is healthy but next time make sure of the freaking sex of your animals befor you guarantee them.

The whole time I was in the store waiting at the counter to be served the guy working was on the phone and ignored me. I stood there for about 15 mins waiting patiently and when I cleared my throat to get his attention he just looked at me and walked away. Very poor customer service.

I have been to this store multiple times and every time i always recieve amazing assistance! All of the staff are absolutely amazing and knowledgable about animals. You can truely tell the love for animals that is shown here. Ive gotten both my cats and a fish from here and all of my animals are super healthy! I buy all my pet food from here aswell. If i ever have questions or concerns the owner is always really quick to respond. Overall i believe this is one of the best pet stores around!
