Stopped by on the way back to Toronto. Got the halibut fish and chips. Made on the spot when we ordered and was great. Fish wasn’t over cooked and was still flakey. Fries were very crispy. There’s a few picnic tables around the side if you wanna get out of your car for a stretch. Would definitely go back!

Last year I would have said 4 stars, but not anymore. Service was slow, almost unpleasant and it wasn't busy. Fish portions are a bit smaller, but my main complaint was it was far too greasy. Its time to try something new.

Drove pass for gas, saw this little place. Cute, big menu and big scoop of iced cream. Freshly made and hot, chips are no crispy style, but classic style. Friendly staff.

GREAT fish (moist, light perfect batter) and chips. And the lady called me honey! Good/bad: you get to salt/vinegar/etc your own stuff but that means you had best be careful and do a pre-eat sanitizer hit.

What happened ❓❓ Skippers was the best of the best for fish & chips from a trailer. Now it is average at best. Not sure we'll bother stopping again.

Fresh, tasty fish and chips are on offer at this restaurant. Their fries are freshly cut with tasty poutine, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, etc. Service is extremely friendly, accommodating and always delivered with a smile at moderate prices.

Best food! Whenever we visit the lake we always stop here for fish and chips. Have to start remembering to order the half portion because the fish and chips is a large serving! And I recommend the gravy always. Very friendly staff with a back area for doggies - never dissatisfied

UNDERCOOKED BUT GENEROUS PORTION. I've had the chips here before and they were way better. They were super hot so i didnt really taste them before driving away.. by the time I got half-way down the box they were no longer fully cooked and were just oily.. the birds got the rest of them. Hopefully it was a one time mistake.

I had poutine. The price was good and poutine was ok. Nothing exciting but it was made with cheese curds which is not always the case in central Ontario. Tried a bit of someone else's fish and chips. It was good but deserved fresh lemon instead of bottled lemon juice that tasted like floor cleaner. A couple of easy upgrades could make this a great chip truck instead of average chip truck fair.

Stopped for ice cream and the service was really slow but portions were generous. They serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream but have a limited selection of flavours. The guy serving was nice but took 20 mins to serve two of us a total of 5 ice creams.

They are very good. One of the best fish and chip. Anyways, currently they are closed. I drove to the shop past weekend and saw the memo on their window, closed until March 2022. I guess they operate seasonally. Google search still shows “open” but it’s “not”. That’s why I am giving 3 stars. Should update the store operating season./ I change the star rating to 5*. Thank you for replying.

Heard great things about this place so decided to stop by on the way home. Staff was very friendly, we got the Haddock and Chips. Fish was not very crispy and fries were very soggy and greasy, not sure if it was because they are busy as others photos look quite good.

Snide remark behind my back when I unwrapped my fish to salt and vinegar because she misunderstood me when I said I was eating in the car. There are enough wooden shacks around serving fish and chips that I can pass up this one without going hungry.

Skipper's Fish and Chips is an absolute must try if you're heading up highway 48. This place has been here forever and continues to produce delicious food. The Fish and Chips are an obvious staple. The fish is alway fresh and a perfect amount of breading. The chips are delicious fresh cut fries. We've also had the shrimp which was a tasty alternative.

Skippers hours have changed at this time of the year, they are open from 11am to 7 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. 11am to 8pm Fridays. Great place to get good food.

Generally have been a fan and dropped by regularly if not often. Unfortunately I won't be back. They refused to take orders from me and a number of other patrons even though it was 20 minutes prior to their posted closing time of 7:00 pm. The young fellow up front seemed embarrassed but could offer no explanation.

Skip this. Worst chip truck I’ve ever been to. Waited a hour for two poutines, a small fry, and mushroom caps. When my fries were ready thats when they decide to tell me they’re out of mushroom caps. Would’ve been another hour for any other replacement. Who wants to wait a hour at a chip truck? Good luck to all future patrons. If I were you I would keep driving.

Summer time staple. Prices went up this past year so not as affordable as it use to be. Big tourist draw all summer. Should drop prices in fall and winter for the locals. Food is good and fast. Love the dog friendly atmosphere.

They have the best fish and chips I've ever had. And this is the first place where I've eaten tartar sauce. And I've never been a tartar sauce fan. Even my two daughters live their fries and tartar sauce! ???? They are worth the wait everytime. Fresh food that fills you up.
