Great place for accessible backcountry - would be better without neverending float planes flying over and the powerboats. Steep but short portage from Head Lake. Head lake can be tricky if there's wind making large waves.

Love to camp and fish here in the off season. But the trip in and out can be treacherous. The only way into Fishog is via Head Lake to the Head River with a short steep portage in the middle. If the wind is strong over Head Lake (which it often is) it can be risky to you and/or your canoe due to high waves and shallow shoals. During long weekends in season the place can be very busy. During off-season there is hunting in the area so wear hunter orange to be visible and stay safe.

Kinda like a non organized mini Algonquin park. We park at trailer park at head lake. Love it.

Beautiful piece of crown land, close to the city. Many sites to choose from if you come early, and it's never been too busy. It's unfortunate that there are cottages on it and power boats.

i just spent 5 days there fishing was amazing on fish og and round laKes our site was gigantic and even got fish right from shore and on 4 th day 2 really polite park rangers came to say hi and check on us cant wait to go back again and so close to home so even day trips maybe in future and everyone we ran into was nice and the float planes taking off and landing was awesome sadly didnt see much for wild life but was a great time
