Fries were great,gravy was great..I think the burger was great too,but I ordered it with ketchup,mustard,relish...and the only thing I can think it was ,was the relish,there was some sort of spice in it,that threw off my entire meal...I'd go back to try the fish n chips,cause it seems like a great place,but dont ask for relish!!....lol

The taste was great, loved their fish batter since it was not too thick and also soft. The tartar sauce tasted very nice and turned out they made it. The only issue was it did not have a high chair nor a sliding ramp to take the stroller. Since the taste was really good, I can look over the high chair problem and just go there again! Cannot wait for my next visit

Definitely will be back. Had fish tacos. Great cilantro flavour. But the toutons they were the kicker... Nice and hot with melted butter and molasses. Was perfect! Enjoyed it all with a beer on their outdoor picnic tables.

We passed by this little fish & chip place in Bedford and hubby suddenly NEEDED fish and chips. Although at the end of essentially a strip mall, the outside appearance is still cute. First thing I noticed when we entered was that it doesn't smell like a fish and chip shop - it smells wonderful, like flowers and spices. The owner suggested it might have been the orange and chocolate chip bread pudding she just pulled from the oven (oops, wiping droll off the keyboard). While waiting for our order I noticed how fresh and clean and cute the indoor decor was...well, I sort of noticed it, I couldn't believe how quickly our food arrived!! Delicious, hot AND fast. I had 2 piece fish and chips and was full. Hubby had a three piece fish and chips and was full...and then the nice owner said oh and I have homemade gingerbread with hot caramel sauce and ice cream and my dessert stomach stepped forward and said "Excuse me, but I'M not yet full..." The owner was great! While there aren't a lot of tables, parking was easy, and their take-out trade was roaring. We WILL be back

Had a fantastic experience here! Came because it was recommended by a local and we were NOT disappointed! Staff was friendly and respectful. Food was hot, fast, fresh, delicious, with good sized portions. Not a large in-dining area, about 4 tables, but while we were there numerous people came in or called for take out. Went with 4 adults and 2 toddlers, and everyone left happy and full. Children shared a burger and fries. One of the adults is GF and they had a couple options for them to choose from. Would highly recommend and would go again!

Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly in a thick batter (not super thick, but not thin either). Fries were cooked perfectly. Fast service, I had my order in under 10 mins. Tartar sauce is homemade, but more importantly, they have malt vinegar on the table. I wish they had given me a lemon wedge with the fish but that's it for a critique.

Delicious! We tried the fisherman's scoff (fish, scallops, clams, fries, etc), an order of newfoundland fries, and a hot dog, and everything tasted great. Never had dressing on fries before, but the savoury worked really well. Reminds me of thanksgiving leftovers (in a good way, of course). The scallops were cooked just right, and even the tartar sauce was noteworthy. We only passed through for take-out, but the service was very friendly. Looking forward to trying more of the menu later on, and I have to say, the commentary from the dogs on the menu is a very cute touch.

Tried this place due to the high rating . It was disappointing at best . Chips were ok . Fish was okay , ordered a two piece and I’d say it was a one piece cut into two . Very small portion of fish . Batter was nice I’ll give them that . Overall I’ve had much better fish and chips in the area Date of visit Tuesday September 28 th , rainy night . The lady at the front was nice enough to bring the order out to the car even in the rain

Food was good, but unable to eat in so we had to to takeaway. No lid on the container, by the time we got it home (and it's not far) it was cold. The chips were a little overdone as well. Fish was fresh and tasty with a nice light batter. Will definitely go back and eat straight away.

I don't usually write google reviews unless something was really good or really bad. This place was REALLY GOOD. A nice light batter that was not overcooked. The fish was beautiful, flaky and perfectly cooked. I told them so and their reply was, 'that's because we only cook our fish once'. Most places pre-cook battered fish and keep it in the fridge, ready for a quick deep fry when an order comes in. Often that's good but once you eat Rudy and Olive's Fish and Chips you'll taste the difference right away. Trust me on that.

FIVE STAR REVIEW I have gone there a number of times since they opened! Best Fish & Chips in town! Fast service. Crowded on weekends. Really Large fish servings! Curtious staff, Great prices. Other fish offering I have had were excellent. I'd tell everybody I knew about the place - but - then I'd never get in! Also Great Business Operators. I got a $50 gift certificate. I also had receipt. It was a gift from a friend. When I went to use it - it showed $0 on the card. I explained - no kids in house just 2 old people. They immediately reimbursed card. No questions asked. WHAT GREAT SERVICE! On Bedford Highway - getting to be the best food operations in the city of Halifax. Check out there online menu.

Now this is proper fish and chips. Deep fried goodness, leaving you heavily full. The hotdog was a proper no thrills hotdog that hits the spot. If you are hunting for a local joint for some good properly deep fried fish and chips put this place on your list, in-fact, bump it up that list. Will for sure be returning.

Checked this place out tonight for supper and certainly impressed. I had the chowder which was delicious, only downside was that it was very, very hot so had to wait a while for it to cool down and enjoy. The rest of our group thoroughly enjoyed their scallop burger, battered fish and home cut fries. The restaurant was clean, the service very friendly and the prices very reasonable for the portion sizes. We will definitely be going back!

Terrible experience. Calamari = rubber bands, not even edible. Fish was soggy and bland. Fries were basically raw. Coleslaw was dry and tasteless. No cutlery, no ketchup and 1 small cup of tarter sauce for a 3 piece. Fail.

Space is an issue but the food is great. Someone told me it was the best fish and chips around here. After going there, I disagree. It is great but also comparable to a couple of other places in town. Their portions are massive. I ordered an extra fish taco and was so full I almost had to roll back to the car. Their gravy is a hidden gem. I'm not even a fan but the fry-gravy combo was very good.

We stopped for lunch based on news story about fish chips like found in Newfoundland. Well the service was great the lady is very cheerful but her product while not bad isn't the same as Chess or Big R in St John's their fish while isn't bad isn't as good as Murphy's Fish and Chips Truro, the dressing while good is more salty then it has to be. We wish them luck and they are very busy which is good for them they just aren't the same as what we have experienced in Newfoundland

Ok guys, if you are ever in the Bedford area, you need to visit Rudy and Olives! The absolute best seafood we have ever had....so fresh "tomorrow's fish are still in the sea", cooked to perfection and simply delish! And to top it off, Newfie fries..... can't beat it! I've had fish and chips in England, Scotland, Ireland, and west coast Canada. This little place ranks with the best. Tell them to halve the fries so you have room for the gingerbread. I came out to Halifax to do a job, and I've gone out of my way to eat there a few times after I tried it the first time. The Fisherman's Scoff is awesome, and one time there were halibut nuggets as a special that were fantastic. It's a real Nova Scotia treat. Five Stars. Highly recommend.

Both very tasty and really liked the fish batter, however was disappointed by the size of the pieces of fish which were quite small - about 1/2 the size of many of the competing places in town. Maybe it was just our experience but for the size of the pieces of fish there is better value elsewhere.

My food was sitting out on the counter when I got there but I didn’t know and had to wait to get served. I only live 5 mins away but food was barely warm by the time I got home. Had to heat it up in the microwave. The fish was really good and thankfully the microwave didn’t ruin it. The chips didn’t all fare as well. I will go here again though but next time I might go inside and order and wait for it to be ready.

First things first, some of the best fish and chips I've ever had! The smell of the place is intoxicating, and the breading is even better to eat. The fries are great and have good seasoning, the onion rings were thick, and the housemade tartar sauce was excellent. My only issues were with the service. We ordered 30 minutes ahead of time, but still waited for 30 minutes once we showed up. It was a Friday so they were super busy, but their system for managing the takeout orders is not the best. The place is small, so needless to say covid protocol was difficult to follow, so we waited outside for our order. The owner was running orders around the parking lot to customers, but somehow ours was left on the counter for around 10 mins before I went back inside to check. Luckily the food was still warm enough to survive our drive home, but the order pickup experience is the only reason for the missing star.

The fish and onion rings were very good. They were pretty busy so not as efficient getting the orders out to our car as I would have liked.

First time getting takeout from here. 10/10 good to stuff my face. My partner and I decided on the Fisherman's Scoff so we could have a little bit of everything. Best agreement we ever came to, in regards to food. The fish, clams and fries were perfectly crisp. The scallops, crisp on the outside, amazing doneness on the inside. We also decided to share the seafood chowder. *Italian finger kiss* is all that need be said. To top it all off the staff are friendly and were a delight to chat with on my way out. Can't wait to order again!

Very fresh and good portions of fish, scallops, fries dressing and gravy. The service was 1000 percent better than we had at Pizza D++++++ a few weeks ago. This place was busier and handled our table efficiently and with a smile. The food was great, the service was great and I would definitely recommend this place.

Though it has been here since October ,just found this spot . Hands down one of the best in the city for Fish N Chips , Clams are amazing but my favorite is the coconut cream pie ...all home made down to the crust which is a rarity these days but this crust makes the pie and makes you want to keep coming back for more. The owners work the restaurant and are top notch and incredibly friendly. Im hooked!

Tried here for lunch on an overcast Tuesday in January, arriving about 11:50. We were the first customers of the day to dine-in and took a table in the corner. I think there are four tables in total, as this seems geared to be more of a take-out spot. Within the hour there, two of the other tables got taken and a couple of people came for takeout. The place is very bright with all windows on the front, spotlessly clean, bare light bulbs strung in lines across the ceiling, turquoise walls, a large ordering area with menu on the wall, cute touches like their giant logo painted on one wall, photos of the dogs, etc. There's a ramp outside so it's accessible. Very friendly service from a lady whom I assume is the owner. I tried the fish tacos, which were flavorful and satisfying, but maybe the messiest thing I have ever eaten, so I suggest a bib or at least tucking your napkin in your collar. LOL They come with a side of home cut fries. My friend had their 2 pc fish & chips and enjoyed it a lot, commenting that the fish was a bit better than he'd expected (with his favorite in HRM being Fries & Co if you are to compare). We'd definitely go back - I'd like to try some other items on the menu.

Over all it was good, had 2 logger meals. One disappointment was the one of the toutons wasn't fully cook, really doughy in the middle. Besides that service was good.
