Visited once as a non-local, 8/2021. The two staff women were polite and attentive, but we brought in kittens and that may have influenced them. However, they still seemed genuinely helpful and did assist us with some questions. Store has a good variety of products, including discounted products. Sale items are clearly marked. Store is spacious and clean with a good variety of brands and products.

I was trying to get a hold of the Dartmouth Store but there was an issue with the phones, so I called the Halifax store. After explaining the situation, they called the Dartmouth store on my behalf and called me back to confirm. The staff on the phone was very helpful and true ambassador for Ren's Pet Halifax and Ren's Pet stores in general. Thank you very much for the outstanding service. One of my favourite places for all my pet products! Not only are the staff very friendly and helpful but it's clear they love the animals as much as we do! They always have great sales and service which keeps us coming back, they and even hold fun events to bring your pups to which is great for the dog community.

Me and the kids went over here to pick up a cat tree and a few other things for our new kitten, Luna. Simon, (our other cat) loves the tree too. Very good quality and the staff was very nice. Luna is so happy and full of energy, the kids love playing hide and seek with her.

I normally love Ren's pets and have always had a great experience and their selection is great. Sadly, I bought a bag of kibble which my dog did not like so I went to exchange it for another type of food. As I stood in the line with three bags of dog food in my arms the staff were having their own conversation without acknowledging me. I went over and dropped my stuff on the counter in front of them bc I was pissed. and she told me to move my stuff to the other side, which was fine except she did not help me move it and said it super rudely. THEN she throws these return sheets and a pen at me to fill out without even saying what it was and was completely rude during the whole checkout service. Really sad, this is my second time I've encountered this lady and she has been rude both times. I will likely be going elsewhere.

Nice, clean and bright store. Staff is very helpful. Price-wise it's very comparable to all other pet stores. I can't speak to dog related items as I have a cat but I will say they do have a great selection of dog collars. The free membership isn't really worth it unless you're spending thousands of dollars at a time. You get 1 point for every $1 spent. 100 points = $1 off. So to get $10 off a purchase, you have to spend $1000. Not at all worth it in my eyes. I do acknowledge that this is a free membership, but I don't even bother with my membership account whenever I go. They do have a VIP membership, but you have to spend $1000 to qualify.

I come here quite often because my golden retriever is on a special diet and they have the food that I need for him the staff is a hit and miss sometimes but they do have a good variety of foods especially if you’re a little pub is on something specific you May be able to find it here

This score is averaged from a few different perspectives. First, even on their "biggest sales", our size of dog food has never been on sale. The small bags, and large bags of our brand are sometimes, but they don't make sense for our family. Also, we are quite particular in what we feed our dog, and in the last two years, three of the foods we've given her have become 'unavailable' or discontinued. While I recognize this is sometimes out of the control of the company, it's very frustrating. Especially when we were 7 or 8 bags into the buying program and they stopped selling it. Also, we don't have a Rens near us so we drive about half hour to the store to pick up her food. On two occasions, we've arrived shortly before close, just to have the doors already locked. On a positive note, the store is always clean and the staff are quite friendly. There is one staff member who is very knowledgeable and has been very helpful when we've had to find replacement food comparable to what she was on before.

Staff seems knowledgeable and are quick to offer help if you need it. Prices can be high but are generally right around what you'd expect. Lots of inventory on site with one of the better tag machines I've seen. Instant tags on the spot for very good prices!

Everyone at the store is welcoming. I was able to bring my puppy in and walk around to find the items I needed. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. My puppy didn't want to leave the store because of the all the attention she was getting. Bonus for me is the military discount.

Tried to write a review on the website but couldn't find where to do so, so ill write it here! I just wanted to say how kind and understanding the manager is at this location, Stevi. .My situation was confusing, there was multiple purchases, exchanges, and miscommunication. But Stevi dealt with it amazingly, she was so nice, and went above and beyond to clarify and make sure everything got fixed properly. I would recommend her and this store location for all your pet needs!

This store.... it’s unbelievable. The staff is absolutely fantastic and helpful. Location is great. The store is large so the isles are wider which makes shopping easier when it’s busy. It’s bright and clean. The company has picked some of the best quality items from food choices to grooming products. As someone who’s shopped big retail box stores and also the smaller ones, this by far has it all. If the staff at the store you go to doesn’t greet and help answer questions (or just flat out rude), come in to Rens Halifax and be treated the right way. My dogs can’t get enough of this gem. So happy Rens is apart of Halifax now!!

Worst experience with this company. I had bought 6 of these frozen yogurts for my dogs. I got home and they were all crystalized from melting and refreezing. Their freezer must be turned up way to high for these also. So I went in tonight to get another one hoping it wasn't crystallized like the other 6 I got last month. I opened it right in front of the cashier and I asked if there was a discount they could give me because they are selling product that is now bad from being crystallized. The staff talked to manager aparently and they would not give me a discount. So I had to buy the crystalized garbage yogurt I opened at full price. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. They are selling bad yogurt at full price and blaming it on the company Bosco and Roxy, I was told it was their fault not Ren's. Of course it is easier to blame the supplier. But just so you know Ren's management and owners that your yogurt is unsellable when it is crystallized and it should be taken out of your freezers. I also and going to get ahold of the company Boso And Roxy to complain and tell the company what the employees at Ren's told me and my spouse tonight. Awful experience at Ren's. Not bother going back. Going to get GLOBAL PET FOODS to order the Bosco and Roxy yogurt in for me from now on since I have NEVER had a problem with it being crystallized while buying it from them so obviously it's not the suppliers fault for the crystalization.
