Best time to visit is on a Saturday. Because that's when all the stalls are set up. Be sure to visit the upper floor as well. There is an outdoor deck where you can get a great view over the water. My favorite stop was at The Cake Lady, where I purchased a terrific carrot cake with cream cheese icing! ????
One of the best farmer's markets I've been to! Awesome spot indoors with a lookout spot right on the water. Huge space with lots of vendors. Mostly fresh food (vegetables, bread, meat, coffee, honey), some art and jewellery, some soap and skincare, and some essential oils. Had such a nice time. Would highly recommend!!
Great food, goods and vendors! The pork buns and dumplings are unbelievable!! Also an amazing spot for a wedding :)
Great variety of shops and fantastic produce.
Great drinks, relaxing environment, great spot for a weekend watering hole
Great market! Lots of variety. Local produce, meats, cheese, baking etc. Large selection of prepared foods to go, and artisans of all sorts. Flowers. COFFEE ☕ Lots of parking nearby. Be patient and a spot will come available.
Spacious with a variety of vendors. Free parking too!
Great place ! Feels good to buy local and to see so many happy people !
Nice
Nice place full of people on weekends...Small place wid lot of options ....from farm proucts dairy products bakery products maple wines rums n all.....nice food varieties as well...
Beautiful location, all locally sourced foods and goods, friendly people. A perfect place to spend the day!
Always a great place to wander about on a weekend. Lots of great local vendors, great food options and beautiful views.
Lovely place upscale . Lots of shops ..friendly people.☺????
Awesome weekend
Great place to buy that something special for that someone special... souvenirs for all pocketbooks. Enjoy looking through all the kewl stuff. Local food specialties... and... they even had Dr. Pepper at Shawarma!
Another adventure lab took us here ... totally enjoy the Halifax boardwalk... learning new things is amazing
Awesome market! Bustling and so much fun on a Saturday. If it’s not raining head to the roof to enjoy the sun, views and your food. Really well done market.
The market's moved farther down the waterfront, but the wonderful trade-off is the open waterfront area to enjoy your coffee and pastries with a gorgeous view of George's Island. Most of the same vendors are there which is great. Awesome place for local produce and other food stuffs.
Lots of fresh vegetables, meat and baked goods right from the source!
Fun place to visit. I like to support small local businesses. Great for contacts and goods for local restaurants .
It is the off season, so I am thinking that in the summer there would be more vendors.... Still a good mix of fresh food and crafts. Awesome vegan authentic Indian food.
The worst farmer’s market I’ve ever been to. Maybe it’s because I went on a Monday, but there was literally only a few vendors open.
Open weekdays too Although Saturday is the best day to go, we were walking the boardwalk on a weekday and appreciate that it’s open and some permanent vendors are there.
I have to say this is a lot smaller than I have imagined. I thought it’s gonna be like st Lawrence market of toronto. But it’s pretty small, not many vendors, friendly people.
Love the market but also love the waterfront stroll. Beautiful!
During the weekend, we visited the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market. It is a great place to see all the local produce and merchandise at reasonable price. Inside the building there are food vendors as well and you could grab lunch as you shop. Overall fun place to visit every now and then.
I can't wait until these stupid covid restrictions are over so vendors can return. We went there and the selection is limited. Still lots of great items for sale though. Just miss the way it was a couple years ago. Stupid covid????
Wide variety of beer to taste you get to pick your own flavours for your taster. The stuff were wonderful and friendly. The building is so inviting with an outdoor patio.
Went to Getaway Farms and bought some Lamb Marguez sausage and smoked bacon ends for egg and bacon quiche. The market is amazing.. lots of variety and a great place to shop for specialty items.
It seems like it could be great but it's just not awesome in the winter. The vendors that are there are really good but there aren't many there in winter. Amazing at vendors.
This is a great place to go and browse through crafts, fresh fruit and vegetables or get a coffee and enjoy the waterfront. Free admission and free parking on weekends.
Went in mid September; there were very few vendors.
A one stop shop place if you want to buy local produce and have a nice cup of coffee or tea after during the weekends.
Fairly large farmers' market with a wide variety of vendors and a bustling atmosphere.
Fantastic farmer's market in a stunning LEED certified green building. Definitely recommend visiting the 3rd floor rooftop to get a view of the incredible green roof, populated by stunning wildflowers. I visited in late July and it was perfect. Lots of delicious food to be found inside.
good place to get local groceries and goods. they had a very popular coffee shop and lots of pastry shops. one vendor sold cold food which wasn’t as enjoyable. wonderful view of george’s island from the walk out patio at the back.
Berry nice place with local produce
Really disappointed to go on a Sunday and find literally 5 stalls open and a big empty space. I'm sure it's wonderful on Saturdays but you shouldn't advertise a market as being open on two days if one of the days nobody is there.
Currently opened Saturdays and Sundays with a wide range of hand-made crafts and garden products amongst other items of interest to the local Halifax downtown community. Supporting local.
Nice clean farmers market. Lots of variety and local treats. The beer was good too.
We went in early and there were only a few vendors there. However it was a lovely shopping experience we got some nice handmade gifts and cards for very little money. Way too reasonable compare to what they would cost in Toronto:)
so many vendors! an amazing place to shop for christmas gifts. i love this place because it really brings together everything local and so many cool artists. there’s coffee, sculptures, indian food, pierogis, breakfast foods, pastries, …
Great place to get some organic groceries. There are some good cultural food stalls - our favourite food were from the Mary's African food install. The baked goods are a bit expensive but good quality. We enjoyed the view of the water front sitting on the balcony on the 2nd floor too.
A great place to sample and buy some local goods. Be sure to bring some bags and an appetite! Lots of options for eating from Asian, African and local. Also some wines and beer and spirits are enjoyable too. Check out for free parking close to pier 20 if you are ok with a walk and away from the crowds.
Always a great experience. I was visiting town after 3 yrs and decided to go there. It was almost the same as before. It would've been nice if they had more booths during the weekdays as well.
Love where the market is being held now.. So much more room. Disappointed my favourite Indian cook was closed...don't quite understand that as a restriction since food is food and well there were a number of cakes and cookies being sold so why not samosas???
Marks the end of the boardwalk on Halifax's waterfront is this new building housing a market that's been in operation since 1750. Its not a large market but has that maritime laid back feel compared to other urban markets. …
Great weekend market with lots of local businesses.
Lobster rolls were great! Other food was good as well but was a bit disappointing there wasn't many sellers at the weekend and they closed very early in the afternoon
View, atmosphere, location. Absolutely love this market. You could not find a more enjoyable location for a Farmers' Market.
New location, smaller venue. Some nice crafts, local produce and meats, fresh bread and international foods like curries and pirogies :) Nice outdoor walk out deck w a view of George’s island. Not as big as old market (about half the size) worth a visit on a Saturday morning.
This is a great market. So much local produce, meat, alcohol and crafts to choose from.
Busy local market with foods and artisans ranging from textiles to wood and metal work. The layout is spacious so I never felt crowded though it was quite busy on a Saturday morning. There is a bank machine inside though a lot of vendors …
They have this historic farmer's market housed in a really great building with stunning views from the rooftop. There are so many different shops and stalls, you will definitely find something for you here.
Great food at the Greek place in the farmer's market. Lots to see. Santa was there at his craft booth.
Interesting and cozy. Clean facility, with friendly and kind locals. Food is great. Bring cash. Great date spot
Had a blast at the farmers market during their Canada Day festivities. Picked up some really good apple cider from one of the vendors there
A taste of Halifax life!
Lots of cool booths, ranging from produce and fresh food to collectables and locally made alcohol. I found quite a few things I liked, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Parking wasn't unattainable, I'll be back the next time I'm in Halifax.
Great place to go to in order to get locally grown goods. I wish I came on a weekend (we visited on a Tuesday) because it's more exciting with more vendors. Although it was a weekday, it's still gorgeous! Great point to eat and rest after visiting the Harbour Walk.
Fresh and local products. Great quality!
It's awsome the view, the food, the music, the vibe just lovely
Great place moved to the new location beside the cunnard centre
One the best markets in Canada, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, good coffee and cakes, good cheeses, Asian and African foods. You will find there everything you need. The people are great. The hall ist overcrowded on Saturdays.
One of the beautiful city I have come across very clean and tidy
Great market, nice selection of quality local products, great setting, friendly people ????
Lots of fruits and veggies and a lot of good foods. Some things are on the pricier side, but you have a lot of quality. It's right by the water and it's even got a rooftop patio. This is a must visit if you're in Halifax.
Came here on a Sunday, they are open, but much less busier compared to Saturday since some vendors don't do Sundays. Lots of unique things to see and buy! Good snacks and nice view for sitting down.
In 1848 the City of Halifax was incorporated and the original City Charter conveyed the Country Market property to the city “for the public and common benefit and use of the City of Halifax according to the true interest and meaning of the original grant.” The Market has operated in several locations across the city since its inception in 1750, but moved to the Halifax Seaport in 2010 where it is now known as the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market – the longest continuously running Market in North America and proudly hosting over 250 vendors!
The place is at the south end of waterfront, near to pier 21. I went on weekday. Not many stalls and shops as expected. More crowds around 12 noon. Later than that, will be less people and most of the stalls might close. …
Big market! Sat morning is the best, recommend to have a breakfast there!
Had the seafood chowder from Norbert's Good Food and it was alright. Soup was lukewarm and underwhelming, while the salad was too bitter for my liking. However, there are a good variety of vendors here with a great atmosphere.
Delicious baking. Great coffee. Fruits and vegetables. Awesome!
This has always been a great experience on a Saturday morning. The wide variety of fresh produce and locally made items was worth the buzz. The pandemic has definitely changed things from not many vendors to less buzzing atmosphere. Please continue to support our local vendors and remember their new location at Pavilion 22.
Great market with a variety of different shops and products. A view of the harbour was also available with seats for eating.
Super busy, but understandable. Great selection, fantastic options. Got some excellent Nova Scotian honey, Laughing Whale coffee, plus Delicious pastries. Love the the local fair.
Amazing produce, bakeries to die for and the best turkey I’ve ever had. Craft stands are eclectic, something for everyone and not the normal chintzy stuff. Excellent market.
Great food offerings and nicely spaced out.
Busier and more selection of vendors (especially food) on Saturdays.
I like how you can sample food, drinks and alcohol. You get to really know the product before you buy it. Had the Montreal bagel with cream cheese and capers. Was a little bit pricey for quality.
The market and the vendors and wares are fantastic. The handicapped washroom is clean but impossible to get in and out of. I will never try it again!
Not that bigger than I expected but very good place to buy good groceries.
Recommended place to visit in Halifax on Saturdays when the Farmer’s Market is in full swing. You’ll find plenty of local vendors with local produce, charming stalls with jewellery, cards, paintings, hand made soaps, and etc., and plenty of …
Garrison Brewery...Get yer Christmas Beers' and Cheers BAHDS
A lot of variety. Go early if you want baked goods though, the stands sell out of most things by noon
This is an awesome farmer's market. Over 50 vendors. Great fresh vegis & fruit. Even fresh farmer's meat. Highly recommended.
Pretty great, except people can't follow arrows re direction to walk. We sat at a table but didn't notice it was by an ATM, and if there hadn't been a chair by us, people would have stood on top of us, I think.
I liked the old spot better. There use to be more vendors in the old place and more room to walk around.
Nice atomasphere but difficult to park
I personally think the old location was much better but there is still a good selection of vendors
