This place has great and knowledgeable staff. They clearly know their stuff and they don't try and upsell you needlessly. If they're pushing the more extensive stuff it's because they really think you need it. The parking isn't great but that's because of the location and not much can be helped. The place is also much bigger on the inside than you'd expect from the front. Probably the best fishing shop in town.

This is one of the best bait shops in the area. I am a visitor to the region and inquired with the owner on how to fish in the area. He showed me the mackerel gear I needed and told me the best spots to visit. In short I caught 3 string full of mackerel (even 6 on 5 hooks). If you're new to the area and want info as to where to fish, definitely come here.

Prices are high on most gear, this is mainly a fly fishing supply shop. Staff is generally rude unless you're spending a fair amount of money. It's the best spot on the peninsula but I greatly prefer cabelas.

Fishing Fever is the only place in Halifax that you can buy proper materials to tie good flies. What they truly lack in is customer service. The owner hires goons to try to put a good face on while he sits behind the counter with a terrible attitude to most customers. Larry Shortt was the only respectable man I found in the place that really tried to get me involved with the sport. Eventually Cabella's will fill the stock what these guys have and wipe them out. Normally I would be sad about this but when you have a depressed slob behind the counter barely answering your questions, or when a young guy with next to nothing comes in, wanting to fly fish and they just look at him like he's poor and useless really speaks about the shop in general.

Great shop. The guys know their stuff. I popped in for a fishing reel and stayed for their chat. We traded stories for about two hours. They were very polite and helpful. The guys suggested a few different spots and even helped with a few tips and trick. Their selection and price is reasonably good. Great place, I will go back again.

In from out of town. Called the shop asking about specific fly tying materials telling them I was goi g to walk there from the hotel. Later walked 40 minutes in the rain to find the shop with the note on the door saying they moved locations. Was going stock up on tying material. Couldn’t be bothered to tell me they moved. Poor taste
