There's lots of parking, so access is no problem. There's a wide selection of local and other seafood, and in my experience it's always fresh. They have regular specials, and you can sign up for a loyalty programme that includes weekly emails announcing the weekend specials. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful.

Very friendly staff with a huge selection of livestock. Got a super nice lesson on how to tell a female lobster from a male, how rare blue lobsters are (they have a pet blue lobster) and how big a lobster can grow! If you like fresh seafood, this is the place to go!

The only local place that I know of that you can get bags of periwinkles. Awesome for get togethers, just simmer them in brine, wine or beer. Pass out tooth picks and enjoy. They usually have a great selection of different shellfish and I've always had great experiences buying quahogs, soft shell clams and mussels from them. They have a lot of stock that is not evident, like whole frozen octopus. Be sure to ask if you don't see what you are after. The staff are mostly friendly and knowledgable. My only complaint is that the whole fish they carry are not as fresh as they could be, most of the fish eyes are already milky white. I really like fish but it needs to be really fresh for me to enjoy it and regrettably it is difficult to find really really fresh fish in HRM.

If you want great, reasonably priced seafood, with knowledgeable staff, this is the place. My girlfriend loves seafood and I'm pretty much not allowed to buy seafood at the grocery store that is right next to we live because the quality is so much more superior. It's sad but it's great knowing places like this still exists. It's the next best thing to knowing a fisherman or living in a fishing community. They also pack lobster for airplanes if you want to treat your friends/relatives when travelling.

Google needs allow for ZERO stars. And this is what this place needs. I bought a dozen oysters and a whole b-liner on Tuesday, Oct 23, 2018 at Fisherman's Market. I opened 7 of the oysters. Only 1 is fresh. 5 are barely ok to eat (but you can see the decolorization and deflated bodies) and 1 last is black and rotten. I gave up from that point and tossed the rest. How was the b-liner? I am glad you asked. At the market, I asked (twice) whether the fish had been cleaners. (Twice) the staff person said yes. But after I brought it home, I found out the fish hadn't been de-scaled. The gill hadn't been taken out. The gill is obviously a rookie mistake. The scale? Who knows why. If they had informed me of the scales present, I could've decided myself whether I would have the proper tools to descale the fish, whether it was suitable to make a mess at the place I was to cook the fish (descaling makes a big mess), or just whether I want to go through the hassle. But I was told the fish was cleaned -- presumably gill would've been taken out. Not returning to this business again. p.s. No photo for the rotten oyster. It stank. Needed to toss and seal in a hurry. Nothing glamorous anyway.

This is the best place on Nova Scotia to buy quality fish and lobster! I've tried others but the folks at Fishermans market are the best. I grew up in Halifax and my mother counted on the FM when it was on the waterfront next to the old ferry wharf.

This is the place where my wife and I decided to buy seafood and cook for our own at the hotel. This place has all the fresh seafood you are looking for. We bought claims, mussels, lobsters at a really cheap price compare to the price you pay at the restaurant. We spend 60 dollars to get all thr food we need. I would highly recommand this place if you ever decided to cook on your own.

My first time buying here but they keep changing price on us. Not cool. The cherry stone clamp price on the wall is 4.49/lb but they said wall price is not correct and charged us 4.99/lb. We were told lobster is 11.99/lb then charged for 12.49/lb. 15 smoked salmon slices cost 22.99 on the receipt but the price on the the package is $7.13. Never come back again. I don't like to do business with dishonest vendor like this.

We stopped at Fisherman's Market to order a 50lb box of seafood that we took home with us on our flight home to Hamilton, ON from Halifax. We were really taken with Richard who helped us with our large order. He was kind and helpful and understood exactly the mix of seafood we were looking to buy. Richard was a fisherman for many years and shared some of his knowledge of the fish we were buying. Anyone who wants to buy a large quantity of fish for airplane travel home needs to stop at Fisherman's Market and have Richard help them. We'll be calling next year to place an order over the phone for shipment based our excellent in-person experience. Top notch business!

If you don’t ask for Peg, good luck. Staff and management are very confused, info on delivery and products differs with everyone you talk to. Used the delivery service before but today’s lobster was from an ocean which shouldn’t have seafood in it. Regretfully, going back to Superstore which has much less selection. That “1” is overrated but ‘5’ for Peg’s customer service

I was looking for 6 nice lobster for a visitor who we were hosting for a summer lobster boil. I called in advance and spoke to Richard about my options for sizes, how to keep them fresh etc... Richard was super helpful and patient. He even suggested that he could put aside a few fresh fish packs that he could pack my lobster in to ensure they stayed fresh for the few hours before cooking. When I arrived, Richard was busy helping another customer with a large order. He politely acknowledged that he would be with me next as I had asked for him directly. He picked out 6 beautiful 2lb lobster and explained the difference between hard shell and soft shell. He carefully packed them in left over fish packing for me to ensure freshness, something that he didn't have to do. They cooked up awesome and created a great experience for our guest. I felt like everyone there was super customer service focused. As I waited for Richard I was asked if I needed help several times. Its taken a while to write this review because I was so taken back by what I experienced. I purchased among other items a piece smoked salmon to try and buy local which I kept refrigerated for the short time we had it before I decided to have a small piece to taste. At the time I felt ok, however a couple of hours later I was so ill, I vomited for an extended period coupled with diarrhea and chills, I have never been so ill, I assume I had food poisonings. I will never enter this shop again besides making me ill, the customer service is poor and the pricing excessive. I am sorry to say this experience has taken away my like for smoked salmon forever

Too many times I've driven up the bedford hwy to get haddock that is represented as fresh and I specifically ask if it is fresh and when I get home is has a fish smell and often it was previously frozen (you can tell by the taste and texture after you cook it). I now go to the fish truck in kents parking lot and it is FRESH.

I bought the best lobsters that I've ever eaten at this store. I had them packed for transport on my flight to Ottawa and all arrived fresh and cold. Nothing better for supper on a Friday night than premium fresh lobster! I will be back on my next trip!
