Staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices for the fish are below the other competitor's in the area and are a much better size too. I bought most of my equipment for saltwater reef setup from here. They will soon be stocking saltwater fish if they arent already, which is great. Hoping to see this store do well and possibly move to a larger location in the future where they could hold even more livestock and potentially corals as well.

My new go-to fish store. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are generally very competitive, meeting or beating the "big box" pet store. The location isn't as large as other local aquarium stores so they have to prioritize their space. Much is used for fish, any lack in overall fish selection they make up for in quality and uniqueness. They have fish species you won't find anywhere else. The fish are well taken care of, and any fish that are less than healthy are nursed back to health before being available for sale. The plants are the best and biggest in town. The most noticeable result of the smaller space is a smaller selection of aquariums and accessories, but they can do custom orders which largely makes up for this. If you are fish enthusiast in HRM, this place is a must-try.

Our first visit to Aquarica Tropical Fish. We were amazed by the huge variety of freshwater fish. I texted them on Wednesday last week for Keyhole Cichlids. Three days later they were there. Great customer service. Thank you.???? Update today 21.4.05: Since our first visit to Aquarica we have been going back to visit. We have recently purchased CBD x 10, five juvenile discus last month, 4 Brilliant Torqouise, 1 German Wonder, 5 oto cats and several freshwater plants. I was in on Saturday to buy test kits that I needed. Paul is very helpful, always has time to chat and is very knowledgeable. Here is the kicker folks I saved $30.00 plus tax and shipping had I ordered online. I do not believe you can get better prices on anything for the aquarium hobbyist anywhere. Probably you may find better pricing in the USA but, I'm not going there anytime soon. Hats off to Paul and his wonderful friendly staff. Thank you and see you soon.

I've owned fish for years and recently my fish have become sick. I was recommended to go to this store for advice and I was very pleased with the customer service and knowledge of all the staff. I think I got advice from each one of them and feel confident in treating my fish. I was a loyal pets unlimited customer and ever sense they closed down I haven't found a new place which I feel confident in going. However, this will be my new place to go to shop and for advice! Dealing with the owner. Awesome service, great experience. Go back and deal with a women not going back anytime soon she was too busy chancing her co-workers/lover around the store. She isn't customer friendly when I was asking her questions about the fish she just looked at me like I was this annoying little kid. I've never been treated so poorly when wanting to spend over $200 in fish plus accessories. Plus the fish died right away. Bought a fish took it back the next day and she put it in the garbage and told me I was out of luck. A $40 dollar fish. And she said "whatever you did to it killed it". You honestly get better quality fish from PetSmart.

I was not expecting such a great experience! They answered every single question I had, (I had A LOT of questions). I did not see 1 dead fish, and they seemed to be very well cared for. They did have some fish with ick but they were quarantined and not for sale. They have wonderful options and a large variety of supplies! Will certainly be returning!

The best fish store in HMR in my opinion. Great options, good price compared with other stores, very friendly staff, the owner is very knowledgeable, bundles for some of the fish, very honest, and they give you some credit if you need to re-home your fish too, thing I didn't see any other store in HMR do. The good service compensates going all the way from Eastern Passage to Bedford, even if I have a specialized store close to me.

For anyone new looking to come here the pictures are deceiving. There is actually a really big selection and there are multiple tank banks and isles. We almost passed up coming here when we did our day trip to Halifax because the pictures make the store seem small but we were glad we went. The staff is really friendly and the owner is awesome. Compared to 1 Fish 2 Fish: Aquarica has much better prices. Aquarica has better staff who are friendly, knowledgeable, and not condescending. 1 Fish 2 Fish has a bigger selection and because of that 1 Fish 2 Fish is way too overpriced. We will definitely come here again next time we are in the Halifax area. TLDR; this place is worth a visit if you are looking for quality fish at a reasonable price.

The is is a fantastic outlet for the aquarium fish enthusiast. The owner is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. The store has a great stock of both marine and tropical fish, including some hard to find fish in Atlantic Canada. Definitely worth the drive to Bedford, even of you are from out of town or neighbouring provinces. The pricing is very reasonable. There is limited parking and it was a little tricky to find, but I would definitely go back each time I am in there area.

This place is AWESOME!!! I just bought a 20 g long tank today and sadly the silicone was starting to rip off... it’s not this stores fault! So I contacted Paul and I was talking to him about it and he said that he’ll check what he has it stock. He has another 20 gallon long tank AND is going to deliver it to my house! There staff is also extremely helpful! Each of the people that worked there asked me if I needed help and even helped me carry the tank out the door! I’m definitely going here more often! They also have extremely good prices and high quality tanks and products!

Always a great experience when I go to Aquarica! The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. I have bought rummynose tetras and some floating plants here my first visit, and all of my fish and plants are doing amazing months later. On my most recent visit, I was looking for some natural decor, and found a very nice peice of driftwood. The staff suggested I boil the wood for a few hours, to prevent it from darkening the water in my tank, and warned me about my ph dropping. I boiled it shorter than they suggested, because I learned that the tannins in the wood are healthy for fish, and I must say my water is a light tea colour and my fish look absolutely brilliant. I appreciate the warning, because I can understand why some people wouldn't want a dark/tannin tank, Couldn't be happier with my purchase(s), and I'm sure I will be back again.

This store has the kindest, most polite, and most informed staff I have ever met. I am there often, and NOT ONCE has a staff member (1) not helped me, (2) been rude/apathetic, or (3) given me poor advice. They are beyond educated, and give their opinions based on the best interest of the fish, which is what is most important! Their prices are wonderful, and their fish seem to be well cared for and treated according to their individual needs. In the case that a fish is unfit to go to a home, the staff are honest and don't sell them just for the money. They care about the fish in their store, as well as those of the customers. It is a lovely environment with a great, upbeat energy. Hands down the best fish/aquarium supply store! This store has all my support and I wish the best to its future and its staff members!

Could not recommend this place more!! Just getting back into the hobby after many, manyyyy years out of it, and have been into Aquarica 3 or 4 times now over the last couple of weeks. Every single time I go in here, it's been an amazing experience. No matter how busy they are, whether there's lots of customers or they're busy doing maintenance, the person helping me has ALWAYS taken the time to answer all of my (many lol) questions and offer (much needed) advice and help with my setup & the types of fish I want to put in it. I've never once felt rushed, or that my newbie questions were a chore or a bore. Everyone working here is excited to talk about fish and share their experience/knowledge...which is precisely what I'm looking for when getting into a hobby that *I'M* excited about starting! The pic is of the 2 tiny neon blue Gobies I got a few days ago. They were the last 2 (and trust me, they are much, MUCH tinier than they look in my pics!) in a large tank with a million hiding places, and they eluded capture for quite a long time. The guy helping me never gave up or got annoyed...and we didn't even know if there were 2 in there, so he could've easily just said after capturing the one that we did know was in there, that it was the last, and it would have ended there. But he searched and searched (while I was off looking at other fish), and scanned through the dozens of Amano and Wood shrimp also scurrying around on the bottom, until he finally found me the true last little Goby in that tank. And now I have the tiny pair in my tank, doin' their Goby thing & being adorable lol. Thanks, Aquarica!!

When I started my aquarium, I bought all of my plants here as I slowly built up a dirt substrated tank. I didn't have a single problem with any of them - and when my tank was ready for fish I bought all of my Mountain Cloud Minnows from Paul. I only lost a single one within the past few months - the poor guy hopped out during a water change :(. But my school promptly spawned and now I have 20 in total from my original ten! I would not have been able to enjoy this hobby as I have without Paul and his staff's good advice. The store is well laid out and the fish selection is excellent; we keep coming back to see what new stuff there is to be had! One of our favourite parts about the store is how family oriented the staff and Paul are. We've noticed a few times Paul had his own kids helping out and I find that to be very endearing to any business (I think that's just a Maritimer thing, I'm in the same business as my father too!) Everyone is very knowledgeable, helpful, and they have a lot of stuff I couldn't find anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This store was great! They carry freshwater fish I haven't been able to find at local fish stores. Giving my tank something different. They carry a great color selection of shrimp as well. Employees were friendly and very knowledgeable about the fish they have. They were able to give me recommendations of 3 or 4 fish that would co-exist with my other tank mates. Prices were good considering what they have to offer compared to other stores. Also found a good selection of rocks and drift wood with good prices as well.

Worst fish store ever. Doesn't stand behind the health of their fish. Do not buy unless you want sick fish!!!! Staff knows nothing and would rather talk on the phone telling their partner how much they love them then answer customers questions. If you have a question about a fish don't bother. All they do is google it which you can do yourself. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this store!!! It was good when they first opened but they have gone down hill major. Don't waste your time because your fish will die and they will tell you nothing they can do and blame the customer and then you are out money and fish. They also have unknown bacterial infection in their tanks so watch your fish if you bought from them recently.

I have being to aquarium stores in Halifax and Ontario were I lived. This may not be the biggest, but the service is number one. The owner helped me out with a part that only came with a kit. He called the manufacturer and ask if he could buy one part of the kit. The company said yes. So he took the one from the kit and sold it to me. Does anyone know if they reseal tanks.
