I really admire the responsible business practices that Aficionados puts into play. Supporting local fish sources AND only carrying ethically sourced fish from sustainable species ticks off all of my boxes for a concious and delicious meal. I have found all the staff, that I have dealt with, to be friendly and very knowledgeable. The freshness and quality of their stock is simply superb. Try the whelks!

Seafood you can feel good about eating. We love the weekly surprise and pick up is very convenient. Last week we had fresh smelts. A huge treat as it's nearly impossible to find them fresh.

Was here for Abundant Acres Farmshare. Small but well stocked location. The instruction sign for how the share works is ar about waist height so I felt dumb not noticing it. Staff are great, selection is good. No pokestops in reach but a whole bunch a short walk away.

I go there for the fresh produce market. It is by far the best spot in Halifax for excellent quality produce. Frozen fish selection is looks great but it's no my thing.

Their subscription would be amazing just by living in a place without a local seafood store/department, but you also know exactly where it's coming from and how it's harvested, and the suggested recipes continue to impress. Great service, too. The only time there was an issue, they made it right immediately!
