They are that standert not crispy fried that like every fish and chip shop has. I'm sure some people love them. I am definetly not one much prefer crispy o er soggy. Being a Brit expat, I'm rather fussy on fish 'n chips. Turns out, the folks at this place are too! This is an "experience" spot with a East Coast down-home, Acadian vibe where you feel you're in someones kitchen having a proper scoff. The fish portions are perfect, they're skilled at the batter part; it's not thick and so the fish cooks nice, tender and flaky. A good portion of fries and a zesty tartar sauce!....and malt vinegar is handy alongside. Service is chipper, peppy and welcoming. Proper thing. Great for family and friends, a quick, heart warming meal at a decent price.

Wanted to love this spot. Felt a bit uninviting but may have just been the day. Clams were good, but fish was way overcooked and was dry and must have been in the freezer too long. Fries were ok, sweet potato fries were great. Will give it a second chance later in the summer.

Fish and chips are good. You get a sizable piece of fish and the fries are good. But the menu doesn't offer much variety outside of the "fish and chips" type food. If your going with friends who don't like fish then look elsewhere.

This is a hidden gem in the Hammonds Plains area. The fish and chips is truly delicious, with nice flakey white haddock done to perfection and the chips are served hot and fresh. You would be doing yourself an injustice to not try it at least once.

Amazing seafood and staff are the nicest people out of all the restaurants I have eaten at in Hammonds Plains. I recently moved into this area and love how welcoming this fantastic community has been, hands down this is my fav restaurant to eat from. I ordered food from other local spots and there is no comparison from the polite friendly happy outgoing atmosphere at Acadian Fish and Chips. I would rate this 10 stars if I could! The donair meat they make is true Nova Scotian the best you can buy, I could eat honestly 7 days a week here. Moving from Dartmouth this is one of my pros in moving to Hammonds Plains :) This restaurant truly is the greatest and I recommend this little gem of a place to all who want only the best food!

Due to heavy traffic in Bedford my Wife and I ended up eating at Acadian Fish and Chips. The first thing that came to our attention was the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly staffer who waited on us. I ordered fish and chips my wife wanted to try the lobster roll. Seems like there's been a change in ownership since I was last there. Ordered Scallops and Chips to take home as from their menu (and website), looked delicious. When I got home, the size of the scallops was the size of peas. Please trust me, I'm not exaggerating. I didn't even know scallops could be so small. At first, I thought they had given me small frozen home fries instead of regular fries but no, it was the scallops sitting on top of the fries.

Great deal on 2 medium pizza's on Monday and Tuesday. The pizza looked great, but was a little plain, I think the sauce could use more flavour. The cheese was really good. Good pizza for dipping into you're favorite condiments. Basically 2 medium 7 typing pizzas for $21. Next time, I'll try their Donair pizza

Had a great customer service experience today. Placed an order of fried clams to go and asked that they be cooked crunchy. The wonderful young man could very well have just given me the clams and sent me on my way. He looked at the clams and felt they may be too well done, showed them to me, let me sample and when I said they were a bit overdone, he immediately agreed and had a new order done for me. I eat ????, literally everywhere. Even worked for Velos Pizza on Almon st Halifax for Leo the original owner and Pierre his son. As I was one of his head cooks, I am really picky with Pizza. The pizza here is amazing. Have not tried the fish n chips as it was really late and we were driving back to Rissers Beach at our home after picking up my wife's mother in Antigonish. Met the owner his hospitality is impeccable. Plan on stopping in every time I'm up that way from now on.( Fact.)

My intention is not to run this business down, I've been a good customer for a few years now and like many other restaurants in the area, they been through alot over the past year or so because of Covid. I tried to call 3 thimes today and sent a message through the FB page but have not gotten a response. I really feel it's necessary for them to know my experience. I dined in a couple months ago before the last shut down and ordered the fish/scallop platter. Fish was great, scallops were terrible. The owner was not there this visit. The young guy offered to fry me new scallops and they were just as bad so he offered to refund my money and I said it was not necessary, but he insisted. SO instead I asked for a medium pizza to take home. Perfect! Pizza was great. (always is :) ) I waited awhile before going back because of covid and all and yesterday we decided to order a family pack of fish & chips for Father's Day. I'm sure it was really busy like every other restaurant so we called in an order for pick up, family pack of fish & chips, 4 extra pieces of fish and a poutine. Arrived to find out that they didn't have time to add the 4 extra pieces of fish and the poutine. So we ended up taking the family pack and going somewhere else to get the rest. Alittle disappointing. Even more disappointing, the fries were cold and the fish was not great. I'm not looking for anything free or my money reimbursed. I'm really sorry with everything you've been through, I'm going to wait awhile to visit again hopefully things will perk up soon. You will see me again I always support local. I look forward to my next visit. :)

This is a great place with great food. The fries are home made and the fish was tender with a crisp batter. These guys were very generous with my order. When we were looking at houses in Hammonds Plains, we popped in here for dinner. The guy at the counter was so friendly and recognized we hadn't been in there before. We decided to order haddock tips out of pure curiosity and donair egg rolls (because... how could that go wrong?!). When our order came, there was a full piece of fish, too. He explained that not everyone likes haddock tips, and he didn't want us not to enjoy our first meal with them. So thoughtful!! Good news for us - everything was delicious. Such a kind and thoughtful gesture - backed by delicious food - has made us customers for life.

We showed up 10 minutes before they closed. This was our first visit . Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing . Fish was light and crispy not super greasy and heavy . Lobster roll was loaded with lobster tasted nice and fresh very impressed. We Highly recommend .

Let me say up front that I'm not a true fish lover... but the fish and chips here really wowed me! I tried them because it seemed the thing to do when in Acadia, and I am so very glad that I did. The haddock was steamy hot and tender in a golden batter that was absolutely the perfect level of crispiness. The fries were also done just right... not your standard soft type, but crispy on the outside. If I lived nearby, I would eat here every week! When Brandon, the energetic and personable owner who also cooked and served us that evening, brought us a bowl of his special fish chowder, I tried it to be polite, and ended up devouring my half. You see, I have never, ever eaten more than a spoonful of fish chowder before in my life... but I would happily order this dish any day. Perfect melding of chunky vegetables and shredded pieces of fish in a cream base that struck a delicate balance between being too thick and too thin. Wish we lived nearby!

My 11 year old daughter and I stopped today at the Hammonds Plains Road location. This restaurant was awesome! Looked great inside and out and very clean. Food was great and so were the prices. The staff was very friendly and polite. Had a bowl of chowder that was huge ( like 3 cups), one piece of haddock and fries for $11.98! The chowder was awesome and so filling. My other food was delicious too! We will be here again in the near future!

Ordered clams & chips with extra clams, extra tartar. The clams were complete mush, no flavour or crisp. Only gave one tiny pack of tartar sauce and cheaped out on the fries. I drove 35 minutes to try this out after hearing so much good about the food... won't be back.

We had fish and claims, it was fantastic, homemade fries fish was perfectly done as was the clams. We shell return. Update. Told my husband about this place, we where coming back from Peggy's cove and stop for a bit to eat. We will not return again customer service was poor, female working was rude. Food was not good, very greasy. This was in july/Aug. Late with update.

The food here is always fresh and piping hot - tasty fish and chips and tender haddie bits. The fries are always fresh, piping hot and a generous portion. The space is pleasant and inviting and the staff very friendly. My daughter has liked any of the things she has tried off the kids' menu, but especially loves the pizza.

This place has the BEST fish and chips EVER!!!! If you have never been here i strongly recommend taking the time to go check them out, its totally worth the drive. The size of their servings are HUGE!!! Not sure where they get their fish from but i have never been served a piece of fish that size. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming. Id give this place a 10 star if i could!!

I would like to thank Brandon for 2 wonderful dining experiences. The fish and chips I had the first night were amazing. Two huge pieces of haddock in a thin and crispy (not greasy) batter. The fries were perfect. I shared with my wife even though they were so good I didn't want to. I was so impressed I went the next day to try the Seafood Chowder and it stood up to Brandon's boast that it is the best chowder around. tons of seafood and not to much potatoes as is a common filler in most chowders. I love Brandon's enthusiasm and passion and will be happy to bring visitors to Acadian as a special night out for a true Maritime dining experience....Great job Brandon, continued success

We've eaten here a few times and their fish & chips are so good! The one piece is more than enough for me. My husband got a two piece order and could only finish one. My son had a burger that he said was delicious. It was made with real ground beef and large.
