Great place to pick up Asian spices, snacks, and ingredients. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Great selection of Asian items. I go here all the time to pickup things like Raman and udon noodles. Mirin and huge selection of spices and frozen fish. People working there have always been extremely helpful. For any of your east Asian culinary needs this is where you need to go.

Good Asian grocery store. Smaller store, but a good selection and variety.

Awesome experience and selection. 20 out of 10!

Fresh food and nice staff

The FRESHEST vegetables in Guelph - tired of bean sprouts that are slime the next day, come here. Better than Zehrs. The smell is odd and I wish they would clean/tidy a bit, but I consider it worth it. Don't expect much Japanese stuff, this is a Thai run store.

DISHONEST STORE - Will deliberately rip you off Be aware of cashiers (especially the FAT and UGLY sister) rip you off when check out. My family members got ripped off many times by this store so when check out pay more attention to the way she punches the price into the machine. She does this on purpose and you can't argue after walk out because there is no proof on the receipt unless you caught her right handed. PLEASE WRITE OUT MORE REVIEW TO STOP THIS BEHAVIOR.

Best Asian store around

Probably one of the only Asian Grocer stores in Guelph that actually gives you what you're looking for. The staff are personable and friendly, and have all things international for that good home-cooked meal if you're from overseas or out of town. Everything in the store is affordable and in bundles so you can purchase it for cheap!

Need any Asian food products? If yes come to the than phat store. Holy ball large selection of food goods. Staff if very friendly if you can understand them. Lol. Store does smell a little for that's ok, get in and grab your good and get out.

Language barrier is a little challenging if asking for something specific. Other than that it was like shopping at a little corner store in Hong Kong. Staff were super friendly. I will defi itely go back.

Excellent selection of Asian food

Good store if you are looking for Asian products you can't get a Zehrs. Prices a decent. People are friendly.

Great place.

Love it here! Ppl r so friendly!

Lot of Asian food for Vietnamese, Philippine, Korean, Japanese...

Nice selection of foods, from fresh meat to frozen goods.

Only Asian market left in Guelph.

Wide Variety of international products and Awesome Customer service..

I bought a bag of candy which is expired there years. Never go back again.

You will always find expired food and other products here. Be forewarned and check your expiry dates if they have any.

Great market. Just be sure to check expiry dates.

Great place, tons of fresh and pre made foods, staff has always been nice.

A superb collection of food products. Especially those of things we always were used to in our childhood in our homeland.

Looking for something in an Asian recipe, you will probably find it here

Small local Vietnamese store. It has many of the Asian staples that you need when cooking. There are a lot of Chinese/ Vietnamese ingredients/ packaged goods. They don't seem to carry many Korean or Japanese brands.

Good people great prices wide sellection of asian food and merchadise.

It was kind of sketchy and smelt way too strongly of fish (and not in a good way), and a lot of the stuff there I could just get at a big chain grocery store like Zehrs. I can maybe see myself going back if I need something quickly for any Asian cooking I may do but I think I’ll likely just make the drive to Waterloo to T&T for most of my Asian culinary needs.

- Good and big store. Most Asian Groceries and vegetables are available fresh and frozen. - Meat (fish, beef & Pork) available. Imp Don't Shop after 7pm as it will be disturbance for them.

Amazing place anything and everything. If you like Thai food and ingredients this is the place!

Good place to shop for Asian spices

Great service, fresh everything.

Well stocked, good prices.

Look at this mouldy piece of meat I paid 6$ for I went to the grocery store came home later at night it was in the fridge got it out and it was old came back the next day showed the cashier blamed it on me and said my fridge is broken not a single sorry and they accused me of an old piece of meat worst store If your gonna sell something make it good quality at least happened more than 1 don’t come here unless you want old meat and mouldy meat!!

I was looking for Soy milk to buy for my kids and have went to Walmart and Zehrs which they only had the juice boxes and flavors i did not want. I bought thw Soy milk here and it looked fine maybe because it was cold and once i got home my daughter went to go pour it so she could drink it, clumps just started coming out. I did not want to write a review because i have bought items for say food here which have smelt weird after opening them from packaging but this was disgusting and they really need to put expiry dates in there food. Someone could have gotten sick and if my daughter did not show me that the soy milk was clumps in her cup she would have drank it. 1 star for me and will never go back until they inspect there own foods or ensure everything has an expiry date.

My weekly stop for Asian foods

They sell expired items...be careful and check before you buy!

The prices are similar to those I find in Mississauga , enough that I don't mind paying a few extra cents to save a trip to Mississauga. The owner is very nice and I found everything (and more) that I needed! They have a great selection of asian foods and spices and I will be coming here again

Fantastic store with an amazing selection!

Disgusting everything is expired had mooncake that tasted like fish juice very unwelcoming never again

It's the only place in Guelph where I've been able to find gochugaru. Worth all five stars just for that.

Really enjoyed my experience at this real Asian market! Staff went out of their way to help when I asked them. I do want to mention that they don't accept credit cards but they do accept debit cards and cash.

Extensive selection of dried and fresh Thai / Asian groceries.

Very disorganised bric-a-brac means it's impossible to find anything. When you do find what you want, check the expiry date -- I have not managed to buy a single item from this store that is not expired, sometimes by as much as 18 months. Upside is that there's a huge variety of things, if you manage to find it.

Great prices for Asian food and friendly owners

good place

I must say, the staff here are amazing! As possibly the whitest guy who might walk into their market, I had no idea where, or what, anything was! The staff was incredibly helpful, and patient with me! Got all my Hot Pot ingredients and I am now headed home for a delicious meal! Thanks! See you next time!

i actually love this place. the bring new things every week which i personally love and workers are very nice and considerate

Lots of expired foodstuff, smelly.

This is a big clean store with friendly staff. They stock a large variety of different Asian products. I even found the Vietnamese coffee and gluten free soy sauce I wanted.

So many food treasures, clean store.

Good store lots of selection

Tons and tons items... Interesting foods

Best selection of Asian foods in Guelph, sadly, that's not saying much. The staff is really nice, but the selection is focused on Viet/Thai. There are very few Japanese or Korean options.

Bit of a trial finding anything specific as product shifts around all the time and items of the same type may be spread around the store, but an excellent selection of hard-to-find goods at very reasonable prices. Freshest bean sprouts you'll ever find, and the kimchi sold in clear plastic containers without labels is to die for!

Guelph has very few Asian groceries ... This one is probably the best .... That said I drive to TnT in Mississauga whenever feasible....

They have mostly everything you could need when cooking Asian cuisine. I especially love the freshly made Banh mi subs they have (received every Tues and Thurs) and ready-made chicken and beef Filipino empanadas and pandesal bread. I also grab their jasmine green tea and aloe Vera juice drinks. When I need some Asian-specific veggies, I usually grab here because their produce is fresh. Their price point is great plus they don't charge tax. The cashier I dealt with was helpful, friendly and well-spoken. My go-to Asian supermarket in Guelph.

Great selection

One have to be super careful about buying raw meat here. It's not even in fridge. It's displayed in open environment. Fish, chicken etc.

I've been coming here for over a decade and I absolutely LOVE this place!! I grew up in Thailand and now I can get pretty much everything I grew up eating in one place. The staff is kind and helpful. The selection is unbelievable. I love everything about Than Phat!! Highly recommend.

I love this place. Tons of pan-asian staples, lots of weird veggies (many of them fresh), and cheap fish and meat that scares me a little bit. Also dishes, toothpaste, pans, and other supplies.

About as authentic as it gets. A small slice of Asia in guelph with all kinds of interesting items.

Prices are high

Selling expired product. Got noodles here that expired last year that smell horrible in the package! Shame on you. Requested the government health come check on you.

Butcher and fish area smell like toilet. Re-check your bill and your money back when you are paying with cash.

Good for servicing thre immediate area. Much smaller compared to GTA asian groceries.

Lots of options for Asian ingredients. Great source for pork neck/feet at a much better price than retailers. They do not accept credit though ????

Lots of stuff

Great place for groceries

Very expensive

The owner's sister was very rude and unfriendly. Always keep an eye on the cashier when you're cheked out! Not recommended to shopping there.

Great spot for anything and i mean anything asian related...

Friendly and helpful staff, and a good selection of groceries.

Always have the obscure ethnic items that i need. Really nice people also.

Great veggie selection, lots of thai, vietnamese and chinese foods. Staff is helpful when trying to find something specific.

Staff are very helpful and competent

Great price for my dolsop bipimbap dish I attempted to make..turned out awesome. Well stocked store. Do not speak Chinese so a little lost. $12.bucks for ceramic bowl with lid. Good stuff. Do not shop there otherwise..

Amazing place friendly staff and patrons. I was looking for a few things and was happily shown where they were, or when they would be in. I shop here regularly and love to try the exotic fruit not normally found in a grocery store. The staff always asks if I have tried it before and I have not they show me or explain how to prepare it. Also caries cuddlefish.

Smells so gross! Not clean and no one would help me find what I wanted. Who worked there? Couldn't tell them apart from customers

Some of Asian foods /vegetables we can purchase.

It's got a neat variety of food from a number of locations, but the organisation of the food is hard to discern. You can find fish sauce in three different locations, but it's hard to find anything else because nothing is really labeled. I imagine that if I were from the culture, it would have been an easier shopping experience.

Great place to get international foods that you can't find anywhere else in Guelph.

Staff are very helpful. Great selection of hard to find items. Love the place but the aisles are tight and a difficult to find things but the staff are quick to help.

Rotten produce the freezers broke down and half of the frozen fish were thawed and they just refrozen them they need to be checked by the health board FAST

Not bad is cheap But you have to check the expiration dates

Massive selection for far east ingredients.

Lots of great stuff you cant find anywhere else, as well as home made fresh foods a well...

One of my favourite groceries to go to on the regular!

Good selection, fresh

Went shopping there today with a list of several items I needed to purchase and didn't know how to find these items as I'm new at cooking Asian meals. One employee helped me finding everything on the list. All the employees I saw in the store were very courtious and especially the employee that helped me. The store is small but it has tons of Asian food and everything is clean and very well organized. I will certainly go back there again.

Good selection and good service.

I have been customer for years. But just recently I bought fresh casava when I cut it up it was rotten.l called the store to let them know right away. The person I spoke to said to return it the same day or the next day. When I was returning it the next day,The cashier who was always smiling and friendly was the complete opposite. She said they do not accept returns even if was rotten. She grab the casava the threw it in the garbage in a tantrum gesture. She said that I should buy my stuff in a regular grocery because they accept returns. Their friendly gestures is only when you are buying.

Certainly one of the places in Guelph to check if you are in need of certain staples. The entire back wall of the store is dedicated to meats and fish and meat cutting is available on site. (It is not uncommon to hear the blade going as it works through flesh and bone.) There are extensive refrigerated and frozen food sections on both sides of the store, leaving the middle and front of the store divided into aisles. Seafood, meats, sweet treats, durian and other interesting items can be found along the side walls in both frozen and unfrozen forms. And in the heavily stocked shelves that form the aisles, various items like rice noodles, (of every imaginable width,) canned goods, spices, housewares (pots and pans + more) and health and beauty items require shoppers to be diligent and focused as items are sometimes past their 'Best Before Date' and are confusingly organized. Some items, despite similarity, can be found in more than one location and because of this, requests can stump the staff, and result in staff hunting for an item along with you. In addition to all of this, the store also has some produce and ready made snacks. The store has only one main entrance located close to the cash, which creates a bottleneck during peak busy times for both the people attempting entry and those waiting to cash out. This store is not easily navigable. Located a short walk from a public transit bus stop, there is also free parking available to people willing to take on this specialty butcher shop/grocery store. We have only ever been comfortable purchasing nori wraps from this merchant as we don't consume meat, are avoiding processed foods like crackers and chips and were weary of the produce. As the shelves are so heavily laden with goods, it is a good idea to allow yourself time to find what you need. We have also found that we have to ask for assistance. We have never been in the store and had staff (or anyone) offer assistance.

Expired food and cashiers change the price of items.

A large number of items was placed on shelves, separated by aisles, allowing one explore the region, picking out which items one desired. Once the items were acquired/chosen, one had the option of taking ownership of them through the exchange of currency. The items were varied in kind and the ones sampled were of good quality. The currency exchange rate was also pleasing, as one needn't expend much currency in order to acquire these items.

They carry good stuff and cheap.

I love this place. Great selection and excellent quality for a small, local grocer

Buyers beware. Please check best before date before being anything in this store. Lots of expired foods and snacks. And more expensive then any other store of this kind.

I'm just glad this place exists.

I love this store because of how much they carry. The store is small and packed from floor to ceiling. If you're claustrophobic, beware. That adds to the charm. I love going up and down the aisles reading all the labels.

I love the wide variety of food here and their prices are amazing! They carry a lot of stuff you don't find in regular supermarkets. Everyone who I've met here have been very friendly and helpful.

People were helpful to find the indegients for an ethic dish we wanted to make . A bountiful variety of delightful flavours for all your cooking of eastern menus aa well a many local tastes.
