Not big enough need more venders
A wonderful community of vendors! Wouldn't miss Saturdays at the GFM!
Overall good market for fresh foods and veg, love coming here on the weekend but wished they opened until the afternoon.
A neat place to visit with excellent variety of shops.
I love the farmers market
Been waiting for quiet some time to visit this place and I must say it did not disappoint. Varied food items, good for breakfast and fresh produce from the farm!
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful market filled with different and unique vendors. The staff and vendors have ensured that we, customers, have a safe and enjoyable experience. Do check it out and support our hard working local businesses!
Locally grown fruits and veggies....Great selection
I love going to market for fresh produce from local farmers. I wish it ran 3 days a week rather than just once.
Too crowded after 10am. Could do with more aisle space (sorry vendors!). Grain Revolution has great bread. Fairly Frosted has great vegan, gluten-free cupcakes, ice cream, brownies, cookies, and butterless tarts. Great samosas. My friends like Feng's dumplings.
The Guelph Farmer's Market has a great variety of vendors, including hand grown organic fruits and vegetables, artisinal meats and cheeses, seedlings, and various crafted products. I would like to see them get rid of resellers, who buy B-grade produce from a Toronto Foodland warehouse and sell it for more than the same A-grade produce in the supermarket. It's important to talk to the vendors and ask them their process.
A good selection of great food, especially for a smaller market. Always interesting to walk around.
Literally everything about the market is fantastic. All the vendors get to know you and they are the most friendly people you will ever meet. I love that this market offers an opportunity for some much smaller farms to vend. There are some super quality fruit and veg here. Because of this market my ex still can't make his groceries as cheap as I could, you want to save a couple bucks? Look no further, you found the secret and it's better quality than the store. Cut out the middleman.
Good mix of vendors. Number of snack vendors. As in all farmers markets, differentiate between actual farmers/producers vs resellers.
I love going here on Saturday! The mushroom people are very nice
It's a cosy and organic environment. Really good people and atmosphere. Wide variety of vegetables and meats from local suppliers. A really important part of the Guelph community.
This time of year, market apples arr do much better than those in supermarkets
I love to go here every Saturday for fresh produce meats, cheese and other things. There's a food court and some craft vendors too. The negative thing about this place is it is way too small and cramped, being shoulder to shoulder with everyone else and not being able to access the vendors at times. The doorways are all to small, having to wait in lineups just to get in or out of the building too. The people that bring strollers inside drive me nuts - there's barely room to walk around as it is.
Good selection of local produce, foods and crafts
We love going to the farmers market. The vendors have awesome & the food is amazing.
Great little farmers market with a real emphasis on locally sourced produce, meats, and other foods. Lots to eat. Lots of crafts. Often very packed and difficult to weave through the visitors
Very good place to buy apples
So much variety, culture and wonderful people here. I absolutely loved my first visit and am hoping to come on a weekly basis
Pleasantly surprised. A good selection of vegetables, some different meat, and other assorted items.
Love that it's all year round. Some very good vendors offering good-quality products. Shame that it is so damn crowded inside the building. People often jam up the narrow aisles and you feel constantly jostled. Not a pleasant experience.
Be careful of cheating vendors displaying large basketsful of peaches for $10 ... They look large and firm.... vendor refuses our help to pour into plastic bags which they tied up right away.. We found out half of the peaches obviously placed at the bottom were overripe or near rotten.
Parking isn't great but love this market!
Amazing freshly squeezed orange juice!!!
Lots of fresh food like meat and veggies! Friendly people!
Kid friendly. Relaxed. People place every Saturday morning.
Excellent little local market!
Great selection of vendors, I was especially impressed with the quality of the mushrooms from the Mushroom Ladies stall.
Love the atmosphere and all the sellers. Always something new and something old. Great place for fresh local items.
Great atmosphere, awesome foods. Cool place ????
Friendly people throughout. Great selection of veg, meats and treats. This is a regular stop for me.
Was nice. Not too much variety though and the smoked Hungarian ribs we bought were super salty.
Good selection of produce. Everything you need
Such a cool place to buy fresh farm products
Food (meals & snacks) & handicrafts place. A few shared tables to dine-in. Good for families as well as solo travellers.
Fresh food of all kinds! Love it.
Nice little local market. Mostly food, some crafts. Fairly frosted vegan bakery here is awesome!!!
Great place to find that special cheese
Nice to get some local produce from the Farmers market sometimes
Always a fun outing visiting the local farmer's market. Many different types of vendors including produce, crafts/art, meats, cheeses and specialty food products. There is only one ATM there that often has a line-up, and unfortunately the aisles are so narrow inside the building that it can be difficult to get through with all of the traffic. Prices are standard for markets, but make sure to walk around fully before buying as there can be better bargains with certain vendors for the same product. Also, make sure to check for labels on the produce, as not all products are locally grown (a Grown in Mexico tag was found on a bunch of green onions I purchased that the vendor put in my bag from a big bin). The apple cider donuts are always a great treat, but note that there will usually always be a long line-up for these.
I like the way it is set up. The vendors are always friendly. They take the time to day hi and chat with you.
One of Guelph's great, though crowded treasures. Always support your local farmers and artisans here.
Been to many farmers markets. This is one of the better ones
I am still enjoying the apples I got from there and the Cider :) it is a great place to be. very much recommended
Absolute GEM!!!! Lots of produce stalls, some honey, a homemade apple cider stall, one unique meat stall and flowers!!! The prices are really affordable and all the stall owners are really friendly!!!!
Great variety of produce, meat, dairy and flowers. Also a great spot to pick up gifts.
One of our favorite meeting places. Fresh food. Friendly vendors. Local and seasonal produce.
Great fresh meat, produce that are local. Very tight space. Good luck if their was a Fire. Downtown.
This farmer's market has grown and expanded over the years. There is a lot of variety of items and some excellent food vendors. Gluten free baking, hand made bird houses, fresh ground coffee and pastries, local meats and cheeses as well as fruits orchards and local produce. There is also a strong sense of connection between the vendors. You feel the energy and welcome.
Always a pleasant experience! Tons of fresh delicious foods and neat crafts. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Guelph.
Only reason a four ... I went late and kinda picked over ... my fault but nice market ... small but good
Overcrowded. Large farm businesses and terminal food. Would like to see more farms within 25km of Guelph.
Love the farmer’s market— great place to get cheap local produce. The empire apples are the best!
Exceptional, historical, delicious. Parking is tricky and it's easy to spend too much (of that's really possible) I'd suggest coming with a full stomach ????
Love the fresh market!
Great local farmers market. It can get extremely crowded , but things move along
Well stocked farmer's market with lots of local veggies, meat, cheeses and donuts made on site.
A special place. Oma, my grandma, was a constant here and loved it. Many beautiful memories. Food wise, excellent Greek food, amazing pakoras. Great coffee and fresh vegetables.
Farm fresh, lots of different vendors, gets quite cramped late mornings
Love love love the Farmer's Market! Bring cash only. Staple purchases: apples (and cider if they have it too!), cheese and apple cider donuts. Saturday morning heaven!
Plenty of vendors with their handmade products and garden produce...avoid people reselling produce from the food terminal though.
The outside farmers market is great! Missing some of the hot food vendors, but I really like how they've adapted with the pandemic.
Terrific local farmers market with local food and crafts. All on a single floor building with ATM, water fountain, bathrooms, eating area, indoor and outdoor stalls. The facility is accessible but the aisles are often narrow and crowded so expect to make a few new friends.
Friendly people and amazing food, and crafts! Would recommend
Love the market and all the vendors. Great way to shop on Saturday morning
Friendly vendors and fresh produce at fair prices. Love the Guelph Farmers Market.
Lots to choose from. Felt like a bazillion vegetarian/vegan options (rather than nust one alternative) at most of the food vendors.
Great community. Lots of local produce.
Nice variety of vendors, though only four stars due to overcrowding. It can get a bit difficult to navigate with shopping bags through the tightly packed crowd.
Fabulous place for all things food and crafts. Support your local guelph vendors!
Always a delight but Covid is making it a tough slog these days....
Difficult to rate a place housing dozens of vendors with one review. But the market itself is a decent place - has informative billboards and smells delicious. Go prepared for crowds, though: in some areas, the space between vendors makes movement a single-file affair.
Excellent market! Always good vegetables, fruit and prepared food. Just watch out for imported stuff obviously not even grown in Canada. Buy local food from local producers.
Such a happy place especially in the summer!!!
Amazing local meat and produce. Back booth also brews a nice cup of coffee.
An absolute Guelph staple, you can get very good produce, especially in the late summer/spring, and a diverse set of meals and products!
Wide range of selection with friendly vendors. Most places are still cash only but some also have Square.
Great place for herbal and healthy finds
Excellent local vendors worth taking a weekend stroll you won't regret.
Best place to get fresh food.
Love the Guelph Farmer's Market..we go every Saturday morning for fresh veggies, fruit, free range eggs and flowers. Vendors are friendly and happy.
Great Covid precautions
Always a great experience! Friendly people, great food. The best apples!!!
Proportionate to the size of the town. There is a lot of the standard stuff you would see at a farmers market. I enjoy the breakfast sandwiches.
Not dog friendly! The only outdoor market I've ever been to that would not let me bring my leashed dog into. Terrible policy.
Fabulous goods. Wonderful people.
Always a nice time at Guelph farmers market. Vendors take cash only. Bring cash as there is only 1, 3rd party ATM with a crazy fee, long line and sometimes out of cash. Best items are donuts and baklava as well as fruit and veg of course.
Great place for fresh fruits and vegetables. I personally liked the vegan ice cream stand and the greek bakery stand.
Tiny market but a lot of good and fresh food.
A rather small farmers market but they have lots of quality foods, veggies and fruits.
Good place for me to buy fruits every summer
So many awesome kind vendors with a great selection for everyone!
The most fun I've had all pandemic.
There are many farmer's markets around and so far in Canada, this is the largest, organized and really great farmer's market with outdoor tentages and indoor stalls. Outdoor ones sell fresh produce like fruits and vegetables while the indoor ones sell cheeses, fresh meats, cooked food, coffee etc. When I was here the weather was great and from my observation, most people buy apples here and the apples look really fresh, some customers buy them and the kids eat them on the spot which shows how fresh and nice the apples are. The prices here are definitely higher than supermarkets but the quality of produce you can find here certainly beats those found in the supermarkets. Everything sold here looks like they have been carefully planted, harvested, cut and cleaned. This place is definitely a great place for a family outing with the kids able to interact with the producers and have fun choosing what they like to eat and breathe some fresh air.
Small and well done with local vendors. Worth the visit.
There’s a waffle place that is a must visit! Honestly the best waffles, you can get savory or sweet waffles! Go there now!!!
One of the best farmers markets around! I look forward to Saturday morning strolls to the market, catching up with friends there, and enjoying all the great items available.
Very nice and friendly atmosphere! Good mix of vendors and a great foodie stop!
All of the vendors were very pleasant and the food I purchased tasted amazing.
Fun. Variety. Ready to eat treats.
hard to rate right now due to covid but it's definitely worth it
Lots of good products and food to eat as well
The nicest farmers I have met to date. Thank you for always reassuring customers on the safety and healthiness of food produce.
Wonderful community excellent produce available. Love the farm fresh organic apples and goat products!
Love go to the market on Saturday morning, everyone is so nice and this is where I get my fresh veggies from. As well as Donuts.
Huge variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked items, sausages etc. Vendors are friendly and have a great sense of humour. Loved browsing through stalls and picked up some jerk seasoning, jams, chutneys, apple cider and green tea, besides the fruits and vegetables.
Amazing eats, delectable treats and beautiful produce. Wonderfully created forms of art as well. My favorite stop has to be the man with the morning glories and Tom with the lavender
Great market, friendly vendors, lots to choose from.
Do not miss the chance for a trip to Guelph's Farmers Market. It is wonderful.
Great place to spend a Saturday morning, huge array of unique products from food to clothing to home products!
Great assortment, most of it authentic local farmers.
Good market, but waayyy to crowded inside. Claustrophobes beware.
nice produce fair prices and good location...
A very cozy, inviting market, it makes for a lovely morning trip. They offer a great selection of produce, meat, dairy, and crafts. I always appreciate the freshness of the produce and the quality of the hand-made crafts and how unique they are.
Great fresh food of all varieties and types. Great to support the local producers of Ontario.
Anyway fresh!
Expensive and a bit small, but cozy. Fruits and vegetable selection only from a handful of vendors. Would rather go to the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market North of Waterloo with 2x cheaper prices, lots of parking and great variety of vendors. Bough a bushel of apples for 45 CAD when the same one would of costed me 20 CAD at St. Jacobs ...
Great job with distancing protocols, staff with hand sanitizer and parking fees donated to the Drop-In Centre!
Great weekend event for everyone. Kids will enjoy the seating area and all the goodies that are on offer. I love the hand crafted food and goods (soaps, jewelry, pots, clothing etc) and the unique nature of these items. The produce is fantastic and the grocers take great care in picking out an supplying only the best.
Love it love it love it! Local venders are amazing! Support local! Great products great staff! I highly recommend this to all!
Very busy, but the vendors are delightful and everything smells great. I was happy to discover Rodolfo's Rebel Foods (formerly late-night favorite Salsateria) still making their signature salsas and hot sauces. Bring cash.
Still great to get out to the market and see our favorite vendors and pick up some great local foods.
the selection is great, the vendors are amazing, but the building is just so... dingy and dark. I wish Guelph had the market hall it deserves!
Parking is a little difficult but well worth the market...it's small but I always get everything on my list for a fair price
Great selection. Good prices. Friendly folks here. Always love coming here on the weekend.
Not enough vendors, overcrowded, no parking.
Although you can't do *all* of your grocery shopping there, as the selection is not very broad, the food and other products are often fresher, and at a better priced than the supermarket. Parking can be awkward, but many customers walk there, as do I. I like to buy local produce, and there is quite a lot, but not all (less in the winter, of course). I have been going there for many years, and have seen how the long-time vendors and customers have formed a friendly community. Some of the vendors are among other vendors best customers. Many customers greet each other, and other vendors, like old friends.
Those 'organic' foods are extremely expensice. Whoever shop there must be rich.
Good. just be careful you're not just buying fruit you could get at the grocery store Like what kind of farmer has mangos at this time of year, this far north?
Great buskers play here!
Great place for organic market fresh food
Great place to spend a Saturday morning...like a little community ????????
Excellent selection of organic fruits & vegetables !
The market was okay but it was expensive and super crowded. We made the mistake of going on a really hot day when the 2 closest parking lots were under construction. The few items we did buy were melted by the time we got back to the car. I also expected more artists. Definitely a foodie market.
Love the old building charm great vendor choices
A nice place to spend Saturday morning. Check out Norma's cooking.
My MAIN shopping for the week. Years of supplying high quality products, versatility with taste for my diet requirements and honest handshake. May the Guelph Farmers Market remain a constant for my life time.????????????????
This has been a Saturday morning tradition since I was too young to remember it. The bustle, the smells, sounds and kind people make thugs one of my favourite places in Guelph.
Very nice place, well worth visiting it. Something for everyone. Different types of ready to eat food Fresh veggies and fruits Sausages and bacon Specially Kosta Greek baklava etc
Such a great variety of fresh foods
Feng's Dumplings is amazing!
My favourite way to spend a Saturday morning purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and bread. Also has some nice photographers, artists, and other displays to catch your eye and find some unique items. Find it a bit crowd when I needed to make it past with a stroller.
All kinds of awesome local goods!
Excellent produce, great baked goods and delis. Very interesting vendors covering wide range of goods. Friendly and helpful.
I appreciate their commitment to local farmers and local produce. Going to pickle these today...
Really great options, affordable prices, always in season, and the people are always ready to help you for assistance.
Amazing
Friendly vendors and taste goods.
This is my Saturday morning go-to! Beautiful fruits and veggies as well as delicious ready-made food and craft options.
As always a fantastic trip, even with the covid precautions in place, I love grabbing a big ol bag of apples, and some summer sausage from the cured meat stand to the left of the back entrance xD
Great little local market!????????
Good plan on Saturday, kids enjoy food and get some fresh produce.
A great way to start your Saturday in Guelph: head to the farmer's market. Lots of fresh veggies and groceries.
I've been going to that market since the early 80s and I've always enjoyed going there, friendly faces and awesome produce etc.:-) :-)
They have so many wonderful foods and crafts!
This is a great (small) market. The vendors are pleasant, the selection has improved over the years, and if be you buy in-season, prices are good! The only down side to this market is its size...it's far too small. This isn't a big deal during covid when crowds are managed, or the summertime when vendors can be outside, but during 'normal' times it's a nightmare to navigate. Awesome market that needs a bigger space.
I love this farmer's market... it's still farmer's and artists without the flea market perspective
This is my favourite place in guelph to shop! You can't beat farm fresh produce and hand made goods!!
I love our farmers market. The best apples anywhere. The best home made sauerkraut. A fabulous way to shop locally and spend a Saturday morning.
Can be very snobby. Catering to the trendy
Amazing time every Saturday morning...eat local...support your farmers for they feed the cities and aide us in everything that we do! Peace out...
A great local market, with a wide variety of fresh goods and seasonal vendors. Go early to avoid crowds.
Meet neighbours & friends. Gord Laidlaw has best apples. Excellent produce. Friendly vendors. Great atmosphere on a Saturday morning. Balzac's across the street!
Decent selection, great organic ice cream.
I love going to the Guelph Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
Vendors are amazing, always friendly , great variety. I'm so happy to see more vegetables for sale.
Great food great prices
I LOVE the farmers market
Love the spring and summer market
Fair selection of typical items you'd find at a farmer's market. Some things are pretty overpriced and theres too many people wandering aimlessly around with carts that don't practice their manners.
Great food. Great people.
Best market, I have been going here for years and it is still great!
Food is always very high quality and all the vendors are very nice and friendly, I come to the farmers market every Saturday !
Fresh but many items are too expensive
Lots of great locally grown/made items and food, really fun, but can be a bit tight and cramped at times, especially when people bring in their children/ strollers.
Good place to visit and purchase free items
How is the Guelph Farmer's Market not considered Essential?! Grocery stores never closed...?!
Great community resource that supports local sustainable agriculture and craftspeople. However it is too crowded in too small a place for me to stay too long.
Went for my first time today and had a simply wonderful experience! For the most part everyone (customers and vendors) were all smiles and it is a very uplifting and healthy atmosphere! In regards to the other reviewers saying it is too small, this is not a super market, if you want that experience then I strongly suggest you go to one instead. the reason you come to the Guelph farmers market is for that closeness and the overall experience and you will not have a good time if you just expect everyone to be in a hurry to get out of your way, make sure you have lots of time set aside so you can take your time to enjoy yourself and you will have a 5 star experience as well :)
Decent local market but way too cramped and some dishonest vendors. Fine to come to if you're local but not worth travelling to.
One of the nicest farmers' market we have been to in a while. The market was well organized and well attended. Everybody seemed friendly (vendors, and other patrons). The selection was great, and we enjoyed all of the items we purchased! Apples were outstanding!
It is well organized and marked off for safety protocols to follow. Support your local market merchants.
I don't make it all that often because the timing doesn't work well with my schedule, but I love my trips to the market. Lots of little booths to check out and (especially in the summer) lots of local produce.
Nice place a fair amount of vendors good prices.
So many yummy, healthy, local options!
Perfectly simple, has everything I need❤
Had a fantastic time. Great selection, many vendors, friendly atmosphere. People were very happy to accommodate for bringing out own bags and Tupperware. Overall a great experience and a great way to support local sellers.
Nice little market, we got honey, cheese, Dumplings and empanadas!!
Very little near parking, only 1 spot for wheelchair. No air-condition in building. Good selection of veggies in the fall.
Bigger everything would be better. More vendors and a parking lot would make this market an attraction. I live in Guelph and rarely go because you just can't get parked. This is literally the smallest Farmer's Market there is. However, the vendors offer a nice variety of goods.
The Guelph Farmer's Market is a great place to meet friendly vendors with good and varied produce and other products. There are lots of great vegan options there too for take away foods.
Great apples from Gord the apple man
Great place to save some cash on fresh produce and don't forget to check out the guildsmen some of the best lattes coffee and donuts you'll have!
Support local
Awesome spot for plenty of local treats.
Lots of fresh produce
Great fresh produce and rebel foods Caribbean raps awesome
Many of the vendors are Not local nor farmers. There are a Few who are local and farmers. Many buy from the food terminal in Toronto and bring it here to sell. Use your eye strawberries and limes in December....not local!
Generally a friendly atmosphere and great sugar donuts. Love buying from locally sourced farms
Fresh food Good selection. Mone spent on local produce is money well spent.
Looking for something unque and found sooo many choices
Very good. Much less crowded and more orderly.
The Guelph Farmer's Market is a lot smaller than the popular advertised St. Jacob's market. In Guelph you will receive friendly service and quality goods from the vendors. Open every Saturday from 7am-12pm.
Lots of hustle and bustle. Cherry ghost pepper hot sauce, neat artists and knick-knacks, fresh donuts, Lebanese- Vietnamese-Greek cuisine amongst others and lots of local fare. Worth a Saturday morning visit.
Great market ! Enjoyed my visit there
Getting better lately. Decent variety. So concerned about the amount of reselling going on.
I love the market. Lots of construction going on. Can be difficult to find parking.
I like to buy Fresh fruit and vegetables from farm market.
Loved this place. Very friendly people, but had the impression they're fake and posed as sb. else. Prices were ok, a bit to high though. If you like "old-school-market", I would recommend going there.
More vendors than when it first reopened so that's good, but treating customers like cattle isn't.
All the items in the farmers market are amazing quality. I always get my veggies there because they are so fresh and delicious. Me and my partner always buy a take home homemade pie for dinner when we go there. They have chicken pot pie and steak pot pie and lots more!
Good covid protocol but the selection has gone down since the pandemic started. Probably a case of cause and effect.
Excellent market! Go early, plan to be done your shopping by 10AM. This market gets super busy! There are some excellent farmers at the market and a lot of resellers too. Like any market, ask your questions if you want direct from the farm produce.
I love this farmer's market! Every time we are abroad we crave the sweet, tasty vegetables from here. These farmers do their very best to provide good and nutritious vegetables for a booming city. Hopefully we can change all mentalities to go 'organic' for the sake of health. Highly recommend checking out each booth for specialties. Late fall, Spring, and Summer vegetables are the best!
I love the diversity of the food, from somosas to spring rolls and asstorted cheese
Large variety of options for vendors. Lots of organic choices. Reasonable prices mostly
Awesome market. Vendor. Harmony Meadows Alpaca farm.
It's apple season and there is a ton at this market. Get at those pies!
I usually visit once a month to get the fresh donuts! Cozy but a little pricey. Tight parking lots as well. Vendors and farmers are super nice though. Dumplings there are definitely worth a try!
Great variety of great food...love the donut machine... awesome fruits and vegetables by locals
Good variety of foods and goods...limited parking
Great apples in season and the best humus and baba ghanoush in Guelph at Fadi's wee counter
Lots of selection but watch out for resellers if that matters to you. Open year round but only Saturdays from 8-12. There is a Wednesday market in the summer but it is downtown.
Super friendly people and awesome variety of product
Good place for fresh groceries!
Great place to run into people you haven't seen in a while. Laidlaw apples are amazing! My family has been buying from them for decades.
Great place for local foods (fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, honey, eggs, meat, etc.) esp. when in season but too many 'fake farmers' selling the same thing you can buy at better prices and similar quality to that in the local grocery store (that costs them 2 stars). Interesting and unique local crafts as well. Hardly anywhere to park
Good ????
A fair number of humans offered various goods in exchange for currency. The amount of currency requested was high, but so was the quality of the goods. These goods generally consisted of food, particularly in the form of edible plant matter. The edible plant matter was easing, as per the high quality to which I previously eluded.
Diversity in vendors. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable.
Fabulous fresh produce , baked goods and fresh meat!!
It's a shame for city like Guelph to have farmers market as this. No parking, small crowded place. Vendors are very nice...to them I will give5*
Good produce. Good meeting place.
Fresh food - good people - organic
Great way to spend a Saturday morning. Always something fun to see and taste.
met new people and enjoyed coffee
