I have had an overall good experience with this place, but I wanted to warn others who may consider OVERNIGHT SHIPPING fish from Angel Fins. They only guarantee fish that are live on arrival, and only warranty or refund any that are DOA. I lost almost 1/3 of my order ($40 worth of fish on a $200 order including $40 plants and $50 shipping) within the first week, and half of the rummynose tetras had/still have torn fins. One of the rummies arrived missing half his tail and was growing fungus there. Had to medicate entire tank for a week within 3 days of recieving the order. Fully cycled tank and all specs checked out 0 or minimal. Have had no issue with the live plants I received and they are doing fantastic. So buyer beware. No warranty on fish that live past 2 hours after you recieved your order. Do with that what you will.

I was dismayed by two experiences I had with both owners about two years apart. I bought a few Azoo filters from the store and when I got home one was not working properly. I contacted the store and Jarmila first insisted there couldn't be anything wrong with the filter. I offered to send her a video or bring the filter back into the store for her to see the issue, but instead she gave me a refund and suggested that the filter wouldn't work for me and I would be better off going somewhere else. Recently I contacted the store again asking if they had the same filters in stock. Brian told me they didn't have any in and it would be six to eight months before they arrived. I said I would order them directly from the supplier and he said 'good.' Then the next day he sent me a text with a photo showing three of the filters in the store. I responded very quickly to say I could come that day to get them. Less than 30 seconds later he texted to say someone bought them all. Curious, I asked him why he said it would take six to eight months while their supplier told me the filters could be there in a month. He responded to say that I had been told to take my business somewhere else, and it's 30 days for our customers. This behaviour is astounding. The owners held a grudge from two years ago, a grudge over a legitimate issue I raised about a product. They were unwilling to resolve the issue in the civil manner most stores would and instead immediately told me to take my business elsewhere. I found it especially unprofessional and rather juvenile that Brian would go out of his way to text me later to tease me with the filters, only moments afterwards to rub it in that they were gone and I couldn't get them. I see in the reviews that other customers have had similar backlash from the owners when they complained, so this seems to be how they conduct business. People shop in a bricks and mortar store for the personal attention. All these items can be ordered online, and certainly I won't be patronizing this shop anymore with this backwards approach to customer service. I can't wait to see how the owners respond to my comments. They seem to have a comeback for every negative review.

Great little place. Both in store and online shopping was great. It looks like right now the whole operation is run by a married couple with a baby, and considering that, they do an awesome job. They carry a lot of product you can't find in the GTA, and rarely see in Canada (Kessil freshwater LED's being one thing). Prices are perfect, shipping was quick. If there's something you need for your planted tank that they don't have (which would rarely happen) they will try their absolute best to help. Never gave a review before, but this place deserved it.

My son is in the aquarium hobby and currently has 10 tanks set up and another 7 to set up. We live almost 2 hours away from Angelfins and it is by far our favourite store to shop at. Prior to covid we would drive to visit the store and have always been so impressed with the level of customer service, the quality of their fish, plants and other prodicts. They carry brand names that are sometimes difficult to get at your standard fish stores, same with the fish. They are always so helpful and highly knowledgeable. We have spent hundreds of dollars there and have only had 1 fish die, which was quickly rectified on their end. We love the fact that they are a small family business and can meet the needs many box stores cannot. Highly recommend Angelfins.

I have 6 planted aquariums ranging from 7 - 125 gallons and have shopped at all the local fish stores in Guelph,K-W, and Cambridge as well as quite a few in Hamilton, Whitby, London, and Newmarket. Angelfins is top notch! Great products at fair prices. They don't have a lot of fish stock, but what they do have is some of the best quality you can find in the area. I'd much rather shop here and trust that my new fish are healthy than shop at big als Kitchener where your new fish are pretty much GUARANTEED to be carrying a disease.

Bad 1st experience with their livestock. Bought 16 fish and now 6 days latter only have 9. My water is tested and changed on a regular cycle. Update as of Jan 21 Eight days latter. Even more fish dead. Now have only 7 of 16 fish purchased. I will switch to my local mom and pop store that has been in the pet business for 40 to 50 years. Further update 19 days latter 14 dead 2 alive Total refund from store was for 4 fish Reduced to one star. Would give zero if possible.

Pretty dissappinted in the service here if I'm honest. Google says pickup runs until 9pm. However their website states you have to make the order before 1pm. Not sure how hard it is to just grab something off a shelf after 1pm.. good luck with your business if that's the hours you run on.. yikes. It states on their website that they "decided" to close the storefront at those hours. You should probably decide to make money instead considering this pandemic is putting everyone out of business.

Excellent place, large and clean. Great for people into aquascaping and planted tanks especially, they carry ADA and other similar brands. Fish look very healthy and there's a large selection of plants to choose from, not to mention all the accessories you'd ever need. Jarmila was very nice, she kept helping me for almost an hour after the store closed and made sure I got whatever I needed. Unfortunately I live in Toronto and this is a little far away, otherwise Angelfins would be my go to place for sure!

Excellent, fast service and the best prices for livestock, aquarium supplies and plants in the Guelph area. I have purchased several tanks and filters as well as water supplements and too many fish to count. My orders have always been fulfilled same-day or next day when I've ordered at night, after normal business hours. Picking up from the locker box is brilliant - super easy and convenient. They do sell out of livestock quickly, and wait times for restocking can be lengthy. The service goes above and beyond. For example, recently I ordered a plant and Jarmilla didn't like the condition it was in. She contacted me with a few options, and I was very happy with the outcome. I've had excellent luck with all my fish and plants purchased through Angelfins. I only dropped one star because wish I could go in and see certain items before purchasing. However, I completely understand why they are keeping the storefront closed during these difficult, pandemic times.

I am very sad and I cried when my $620 order got cancelled and refunded. I am trying to build a shrimp rack for my sons birthday and needed the aquarium. I ordered 7 aquariums under 20 gallons last night and it was over $195 for free shipping and under 20 gallons as per their exclusions list. I was estimated , invoiced and charged $60 for shipping, which I am fine with. But when I called to check on the status, the lady said they won’t honour the free shipping or even shipping at $60 as they would lose money. So they will cancel my order and refund my money, which I am happy for but I just want my aquariums. No good will or anything. I am very disappointed and wont order from them again and will tell all my friends not to either.

I can't possibly give this store a better review without someone else helping me. They are Family owned and operated. Local and very very knowledgeable about all things aquarium hobby orientated. You can get the best known name brands at a great price or economy shop for some I credible deals. They opened a couple years ago and that's when I first went in. Then I fell out of the hobby and forgot about them. I recently went back in to find the absolute best aquarium hobby store in the vast area. I could not be happier with my purchases and the success and quality of them. Please pay them a visit. They are mostly online but open from 2pm till 4 ish most days. I've been keeping and breeding fish for 26 years and would totally help them be open for longer lol. Like from 7pm to 9pm lol wink wink. Enjoy and love you mini ecosystem peeps. ????

Amazing selection of fish but no guarantee on the fish. I've bought fish here I already own and they've died. Only had one species survive. Store is only open a few hours a day and at a really inconvenient time. Only one person works with the fish so you'll definitely have a 30 minute wait at least. She also doesn't do first come first serve so if you don't speak up, then the wait will be much longer. Only good thing I have to say about this store is she brings in fish that aren't available at the other local pet stores.

Terrible business. The email person (Jessica) always promises you something in the date of and she never does it or she always delays without giving a notice, and when you contact her she’s always giving excuses about her sick family member. I put in an order and it took 2 weeks to come when they werent even on vacation and i emailed her five times and it was either her son was sick or her husband was sick. Might as well let someone else run your business or not run it all if you’re gonna not tell customers properly of the delay of their promises that are being made. The store is also only open for 2 hours. This store defiantly needs to be investigated as they rush customers in and out. They say they’re not but on the consumers’ point of view, you guys are rushing people in an out without having them to properly check the livestock. A few of my friends have also bought sick crayfishes and loaches from these guys and they told me didn’t compensate my friends properly and rather gave them rude replies.

AngelFins' selection is second to none — any serious aquarist will appreciate a great selection of rare fish which is pretty much impossible to find at a regular LFS. I ordered twice from AngelFins and both times was very satisfied with their service and quality of livestock (I bought shrimp and fish). The second time Canada Post screwed up and delivered my order a day late, so fish were in a box for almost 48 hours, but they were so well packed and protected that not even one fish died. And they're very responsive to any questions or requests — they respond literally in minutes.

Huge variety of stock aquariums and aquascaping, even some for reptiles and terrariums, etc. Store isn't fancy but very neat. Smaller quantities of fish on hand than most lfs but they have a lot more of the dry goods than some other lfs, so it works out. Owner is friendly and eager to help out, answering questions or getting what you want. Was very nice to be able to go see everything for yourself as opposed to just the website. Also, some amazing-looking discus!!

Very Competitive pricing here for equipment and supplies. They don't do much for livestock as they are more about custom tanks and unique sized aquarium set ups. But i have got a few fish there and they are always very healthy. They're only open a couple hours a day because they are mostly online, so you can order online and pop in to pick up if you're local instead of paying for shipping. Beautiful family operated shop.

This store is catered to freshwater aquarists, especially planted tanks. Clean, healthy fish, healthy plants, competitive pricing, many products you won’t find in most other shops and somebody who is extremely knowledgeable. I recommend Angel Fins to anybody who wants to start this hobby on the right foot all the way up to breeders. The hours are quite limited which can make the experience at times quite rushed and cramped but I am keeping this review at 5 stars because they are that good!

Very busy store on weekends but well worth the wait to speak with the staff who take the time to help you with all your questions, no pressure sales and not once did they try to upsell anything. Ugh. This place is awesome, the selection is fantastic at least on gear and dry goods, the prices are reasonable, they carry a selection of foods difficult to find elsewhere. God do I ever want to love this shop and I wish the owners the very best . Here is the thing... a business can only succeed through excelling, and if these guys were an online only business I feel like they could do very well. Alternately if they really comitted to being a retail store they could blow it away, they were patient helpful and kind. Unfortunately, in trying to do both, it feels like both suffer. The store, if its retail needs major work to feel inviting and you cant do the bizzarre hours. Even fewer days a week with hours I can make without taking a personal day would ve good. If its online, theyre wasting space and energy on the retail. As a result it feels like they are being pullec in three directions. I hope they pick a direction or hire staff and raise investments so they can succeed in both.... gah i want to rate it higher..

The staff was helpful & very upfront about the longevity of certain species of some of the fish I was going to purchase.They were low on selection of fish the afternoon I was there ...but judging by the amount of people that came in while we were there I'm sure they restock very frequently!! The only reason its not a 5* is because they are understaffed.We had to wait to be served and because others behind had kids we kept our questions short. All in all great wee mom & pop shoppe

The best prices that I know of for most of what they keep in stock, and they also carry a lot of items that are rather difficult to find elsewhere. This place is also one of only two aquarium stores in Ontario that I would ever trust when asking care related questions. Whenever I see individuals who seem inexperienced, the owner makes her best effort to fully educate the customer, rather than providing the kind of questionable advice you receive at most other aquarium stores, or using the customer’s inexperience as a way to make a big sale like a few stores also do.

I want to start out by saying I have never been to the store or ordered anything online. I rated 3 stars because I thought that was fair considering the above statement. This is more of a message to the owner instead of potential customers looking for a review of the store. I understand you may have another job and this is only a part time thing or something. I don't know the situation but as a potential customer who is rarely in the area and would like to come in and actually see the store and livestock it is really a drag that you are only open 2 hours a day and it being in the middle of the afternoon. By all accounts from not only looking at the pictures but also all the good reviews, you run an awesome store. I just wish it was easier to see it. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your business but as a consumer that would like to come in and spend money in your store it is very difficult to do so given the current parameters. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has thought this. Just some food for thought.

I have only had the best of experience at Angles Fins. The staff is very knowledgeable and honest, and will never try to up sell you on anything. They recommended a sponge filter for my tank, which most stores don't even carry because they want you to buy something far more expensive. All the fish look very healthy and well cared for. The selection of equipment is excellent, they carry only good brands, and it's often price better than most of the low quality equipment you find the big chain pet stores. It would be slightly more convenient if the store front hours were longer or later in the day. However, it is understandable and not terribly hard to plan around noon time visits on the weekend.

purchased a chihiros light 451 A PLUS. its been a little over a month and the light no longer works. ive contacted angel fins and they are contacting chihiros to do a test and see the cause ive been told if its faulty the light will be replaced. i will keep updating this review as things progress. so far im satisfied with the fact that they take there customers service serious

Dirty livestock. I got ich, gill flukes, tapeworm, and planaria. Do not purchase any livestock from these hacks. In over 20 years of fish keeping I have never purchased such diseased livestock. They have nice plants though, but the "price" for them is one that I am unwilling to pay
