I got fish from here once because I am very particular about having fresh fish and I can easily tell the difference. I was looking for enough fish for two people and wasn't quite sure how much to get. The clerk serving me gave me way too much fish and it was quite pricey for it. When I brought it back to use it it smelled fishy meaning it was not as fresh as it was supposed to be. It tasted worse than fish at the grocery store thats just laid out ! anyway maybe that was just one bad experience but even from friends who have gotten fish there experience the same. The fish just doesn't taste as fresh as it should.

Super friendly place for very fresh seafood in Ottawa. Superb selection of raw oysters and mussels. They only carry East Coast oysters - excellent quality. Good selection of fish. Very small, clean location. They know hat they're talking about. It's always a fantastic experience.

Best fish monger in the city by far, Steph is a gem and knows his stuff and will direct you away from making things like ceviche if he doesn't have confidence the fish is appropriate. special orders, cuts whatever this is my go to place especially at this time of year for making gravlax.

I've lived in the neighborhood for the past 5 years but only in the past month have I shopped here. The first time I got some sushi grade Salmon and Tuna. The price was fair considering the high quality of the fish. The staff is nice and the place seems very clean. I also purchased some salmon for dinner and it was nice and fresh. If you are looking for good and fresh fish / seafood you should shop here!

I was super happy to find sushi grade fish in the neighbourhood. Prices are comparable to what you'd pay in a big box store, but I would say the fish is much fresher. The store is no frills, basically a few freezers, a cutting board and a cash register. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Proprietor was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I will be back!

Steph knows his fish. We ordered a salmon for Thanksgiving for 8. Well we had Turkey the previous day. Steph cleaned a huge salmon that would serve 16 easily. Beautiful fish to enjoy for several days after. Gave some to our kids and to our neighbors and still have some left. Overall a good experience.

Great selection and very fresh. My wife and I love the fact that we can bring our own containers and cut down on plastics. Just up the road from Nu grocery, which is a bonus; we can now do all our no waste shopping within the same area.
