Amazing food a must for seafood lovers.

Had 18 oysters for 66$. The price for a dozen was 24 on the board. Reason: they chucked it on a plate for me! Ridiculous. Took a while to get our plate. We were the only customer. No napkin offered or glass of water. It was sunny. Oyster were good though but cocktail size. Never again.

Had a very good cod sandwich tiday but miss chowder tuesdays where they used to give you a cup of chowder when you byt a sandwich. No parking in attached lot when I arrive at just before 1pm and apparently they are renting out parking spots now

Best place to buy fresh fish. The Pacific Halibut is superb. They also sell smoked fish, sandwiches for lunch, and a few other things. Picnic tables in rustic unpaved parking lot outside are available for eating.

Ordered the seafood platter DIY kit. Excellent quality, fresh everything. Accurately listed as an appetizer for 4 adults. Plenty of delicious accompanying sauces and we had great fun learning to shuck our own oysters. My absolute favorite was the scallop ceviche, the shrimp were delicious and the crab incredibly sweet. Fabulous service by knowledgeable staff. We'll be back!!!

Great for a quick bite to go... but they used to be better! They used to give a free chowder with a sandwich purchase on Tuesdays (my husband and I used to go every Tuesday) which they no longer offer. As well as when they would charge based on how much fish went into your sandwich weight wise (1/3 or 1/4), so you always knew you were getting what you were paying for, rather than the small portions they serve now in comparison!

The second that I enter the shop, someone always greats me in a friendly manner (so wonderful). The fish is always fresh, advice and recommendations are on point, and there is an excellent variety. The desserts and the fresh bread are out of this world! Finally, the fresh local produce is a great new addition (in season).

I've gone to the Kent street location for lunch sandwiches many times and never been unsatisfied. I got the smoked fish and fries. Fries were nice and crispy and fresh ( no burnt oil taste) the the sandwich was delicious with a tiny bit of spiciness. Not a lot of sittings area at this location. I've always gotten it to go.

I herd a lot of good things about this restaurant but unfortunatly I was disappointed by the food and the service. Spent $400; two fish plates went back, lobster was over cooked and, the server barely paid any attention to us.

Sometimes food is out of stock in the freezers, but that's only because it is awesome and everyone wants it! Sourdough is greatly missed at the restaurants, but you can pick it up here. Burgers are to die for. Service can be a little slow during busy times.

Ordered delivery to support local and treat ourselves during these crazy covid times. Ordered shucked oysters and frozen smelts. The delivery was within time frame. Delivery person was masked, covid safe leaving platter on the front porch and stepping to a safe distance when we opened the door. Friendly. The oysters were not only delicious, it also came with three sauces and Lemons and horseradish. Beautiful presentation and product. Recyclable container. Would highly recommend. Have not tried the smelts yet, but they arrived frozen and vacuumed sealed. Thank you.

I had the haddock ( catch of the day) sandwich and could not believe the size nor taste in my mouth. The fish is battered and fried per order, worth the wait for fish that practically melts in your mouth. There’s fresh and then there’s whalesbone fresh!

easily the WORST chowder I've ever had. Seriously, it is a cup of milk with fish. The characteristic of the chowder is that it is creamy, and that it tastes like fish. In this chowder, there are chunk of fish that are sank in the cup and it pure milk. If I want a cup of milk, I'll go to a cafè. The fish and chips was allright, but nothing too amazing.

The price is high one hundreds for a platter that doesn’t take much effort to assemble,and the ingredients are incredibly fresh, but it did not take any effort to plate. The cocktails are any other cocktails everywhere else and the servers were incredibly polite.

Had fish and chips - fish was undercooked and had to be sent back. Second order was cooked properly but tasted fishy even with the thick batter. Fries were extremely salty. Chowder was good but not great.

It was our first time at Whalesbone. We ordered Baked and Stuffed Lobster Dinner, and Royal Seafood Dip with Cheese. We called in for a pickup, and they were very friendly in answering! When we arrived for a pickup, they also gave us a free book that consists of story of many chefs and their plates recipes. Thank you! And the food. Yum yum YUMMMMMM!! Everything was amazingly delicious ???????? The lobster, the seafood dip, the potato salad, the kale salad, the bun! I truly really enjoyed the dinner!! I also loved that we got to cook(bake) them ourselves for the final touch, so that we get to enjoy the freshly baked and warm food! I would say this experience was better than a typical takeout and was very Very delicious! ????

Best place in Ottawa to get fresh seafood. If you are interested in making the freshest quality seafood and you live downtown and cannot deal with T&T then this is the best place to come If you can shuck your own oysters then you can save enough for the bottle of champers ;)
