Here you will see the opinions of people who buy the services of Pelican Seafood Market and Grill (Fish Shop) in the area of Gatineau (Canada).
To this day the business receives a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is almost the top, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may say that the evaluation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Fish Shop is included in the category of Seafood restaurant.
Fantastic calmari, fish & chips and pasta with mussles and chorizo both very good. Deserts were so-so at best
Ordered an oyster platter and cocktail shrimp for a special birthday delivery. The recipient couldn't have been happier - said everything was delicious. The online ordering site was a breeze to use and the staff were so attentive.
Very very very lovely and lively atmosphere, FANTASTIC STAFF, food was good, gonna come back to try the other menu items. Reason for 4 stars: the Korean shrimp appy, I'd recommend easing up on the ginger in the mix of the batter, bit of a turn off.
The food here is absolutely delicious. When a restaurant specializes in a particular food then it's critical that they deliver. This has definitely been the case from my experience dining here. The seafood is to die for, the blend of flavours with the freshness of the seafood really stand out to me as one of Ottawa's top seafood restaurants. From a student's perspective it may be a little on the pricey side but for the quality of the ingredients and the top notch dishes, eating here is a complete steal. I reccomend this place to all my seafood lovers and personally really enjoyed the salmon and lobster poutine.
MMM always reliable for good food.

I hadn't been to the Pelican Grill in a few years but remember the great meals I had there. It didn't disappoint at all! I had the lobster roll that was piled high with fresh, succulent lobster meat cooked to perfection! The roll was the perfect soft bun that created the perfect bite. I will be back sooner rather than later...
Amazing seafood selection. Great service, will come back again.
The best the city has to offer. Selection, quality, and service are bar none.
Had the lobster spaghetti and it was the best seafood/pasta dish I’ve ever had. Phenomenal with great staff too
I love this place! Not only can you buy fresh fish and seafood on the market side, but on the restaurant side, you can enjoy great fish and chips, calamari, mussels and fries and fresh oysters.
Reliably delicious, professional and classy.
Casual atmosphere and amazing food! Hidden gem
Pelican Seafood Market is the premier fish place on Ottawa. Their staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful for your seafood needs. I won't shop anywhere else for high quality fish and excellent service. Call ahead to ask what's fresh or simply stop by, I love their business philosophy and atmosphere.
I had never heard of this place until my sister in Montreal saw this place on Food Tv with Guy Fieri. I had a craving for calamari today... drove 30 min just to have them... and they were delicious... can’t wait to try more items from Pelican.
Adriana and Rocko, and the Amazing seafood keeps me coming back over and over. Thanks for your efforts in keeping people safe during our dining experience.
Great food and great service. The online reservation system is challenging.

Super fresh and great staff
Have been coming to the restaurant side for years. Hands down the freshest place for seafood in Ottawa. Exceptional, consistent service and food. Recently, we moved closer to the area and have been going to the market side on a weekly basis. Have picked up everything from salmon to oysters, scallops, mussels and lobsters...all quality. Can't go back to purchasing seafood at local grocery stores. Plus, as we have gotten to know some of the employees there, they usually throw in a few freebies which is always welcome and a nice, friendly, personal touch to their service. Highly recommend!
Amazing service! Mussels and fries are scrumptious!!!!!
Very good food and very good service. Not giving 5 stars only because as someone who values plating, I think they have room for improvement. Other than that, great experience!
I came here with my family for my mom's birthday and it was amazing. The food was great and same with the service. My mom wants it to be a birthday tradition to come here every year :) The lobster was fantastic and oh my god the maple creme broulee... No words. We also got the tower as an appetizer... so good.
Excellent food. Great service. Sensible social distancing.
Excellent seafood fare. Extensive offerings. Adjacent market meeting all your needs. One of the best in Ottawa.
Great food excellent service bit pricey but your plate is full. Will be back for sure
First time to try and I was really amazed by the quality of the food. I ordered the lobster roll and the white sauce mussels which were so fresh.
Ordered take out. Ready on time .
We were visiting from Toronto and looked up restaurants and found this gem. Food was awesome and the proportion was great. We will visit again! Must try the fish and chips!!
Eric is the most amazing stuff! First-timer picking up sushi-grade salmon and tuna???? he even offered to cut it for us!!! Good quality fish & friendly staffs! Definitely will go again!
One of the only Ottawa restaurants where you can order crab at a reasonable price. They have a nice selection of seafood, including several oyster options. We had the snow crab, oysters, and chowder, which were all tasty. Not a fan of the garlic butter butter though as it tasted very strongly of raw garlic. Service was fast and friendly.
Great food and customer service
It was our first time here and we loved the food.
Amazing food and service!
Left montreal today to go to Pelican for lobster roll. Best seafood around, lobster roll is fantastic but so is everything else like the bisque and Bobby dazzle platter. Clean place. Staff wonderful!!

Our go to for seafood and fish. Always delicious with good portions at a reasonable price.
Super Clean , very friendly staff ! Big variety on the menu , coconut shrimp are highly highly recommended , Red Thai curry mussels were delicious and the Caesar salad was super fresh. Overall it was a great experience , worth the drive down !
Take out
Very good food. I got the fried calamari and lobster roll from their lunch menu. The calamari is cooked perfectly and doesnt feel as heavy since it seems they use panko bread crumbs instead of batter to fry. The lobster roll was also very good. There is a lot of lobster meat inside the roll and the accompanying sauce and veggies do not overshadow anything. The fries are not anything special but they are still good along with the salad. Since it is seafood, expect a higher price point like any other seafood specialty place.

Pelican never disappoints. For the first time I used their order for pick-up service and when I arrived it was in my car trunk within 5 minutes. I brought home 4 large lobsters, 2 large salads and 2 garlic butters The butter was melted stovetop. Since the lobster was packaged in two lidded aluminum trays, all we had to do was remove the lining paper from the trays and rubber bands from the claws and place the trays in the oven. Everything was absolutely delicious! Thanks Pelican!
Cannot say enough, superb service from Brian.dinners in the Captains cabin ,each dish explained to us and tasted great.
We came for some lunch by since we heard good things about this place. The setting is split between a seafood market and a dine-in restaurant. We ordered take out, one lobster roll $24 and one clam chowder $6. Everything seemed great, until we got our food. The lobster roll was a mess, tasteless and to top it off, the lobster bun itself was stale. How can you serve stale food at a 'fresh' seafood market? The fries were pretty good, but its hard to go wrong with such a staple. The clam chowder was better but nothing to be desired. It wasn't fresh either and tasted like someone put the chowder in the freezer only to defrost it in the microwave and serve it. It was definitely not a great experience and I can see why the people in the store only ordered the fresh seafood and nothing from the Take-out menu.
This review is based on our experience during their buck-a-shuck promo (daily from 2pm-4:30pm). The dollar promo was for the Malpeque oysters only and they were very fresh and delicious. I also got a Ceasar to drink which I personally found to be a bit too savoury. The restaurant has adapted to social distancing measures by putting up plastic dividers between tables. There's little paper bags to hold your masks while dining. Staff was very friendly and service was attentive.
This was, by far the best fish/seafood that I’ve ever had in any restaurant. The fries are amazing too. We had the house made ice cream for dessert. Common!!! Crazy good! Server was incredible. We’ll be back! The seafood market offers a wide variety of choices at great prices. Well done!! Pete
Great seafood place! Good food and friendly staff
This place has a really high rating and deservedly so! Food was incredible! Prices were reasonable and portions were larger. Will definitely be back anytime I'm in Ottawa. If you enjoy seafood do yourself a favor and check this place out. They even have a cute seafood market attached
Excellent seafood pie
Great food, great staff. Been in Ottawa for 2 years and it's the first time we enjoy food at a restaurant. Starters: 1- Oysters: Beautiful and fresh. 2- Brisque: Very good. 3- Chowder: Good flavor, too liquidy. 4- Calamaris: Good. 5- Korean shrimp ????????. Mains: 1- Lobster and Shrimp roll: Really good and fresh. 2- Red Thai curry: Best dish of the night. Spicy enough to add flavor and not make you uncomfortable.???????????? Dessert: Had Brownies and creme brulee. Both were good.
Their fish and chips was amazing - highly recommend :)
Each time I end up going here, it's like the food gets increasingly amazing. Never been disappointed with Pelican!

If you live in Ottawa or are visiting like us, you you have to eat at Pelican for some of the best seafood. The staff are helpful, friendly and funny. Everything we ordered was fresh, like it was pulled out of the sea when we placed our order. The oysters and jumbo shrimp were so good I almost wish the platter was endless. I could have eaten the PEI muscles with garlic and white wine sauce to myself but then I wouldn't have had room for all the other food we ordered; that sauce was packed with flavor. The calamari had a great batter that wasn't to thick or thin, it had just the right crisp. The Korean fried shrimp were large and bursting with flavour. The halibut fish and chips in beer batter was light crispy and flaky, which I can say is one of the best I've ever tried. A caesar is a perfect drink with this meal. My one recommendation, don't eat anything all day if you're planning on eating here.
Whether you’re buying the freshest fish, picking up takeout, or popping in for a bite. These guys are fabulous. Tonight I picked up a lobster for my birthday, and sat and enjoyed Prosecco and oysters while I waited for them to cook it for me. I watched and listened as they hustled to take care of the full restaurant dinner crowd. Top level service, seamless coordination caring for their guests and what I love the most... my request was out of the ordinary yet they totally happy to accommodate!! ????????????????
Very delicious food and friendly staffs. I had moules frites and my boy had 5 oysters for appetizer and fish and chips for main. Authentic thick fries would have been better with moules frites instead of Canadian greasy thin fries, but still very well seasoned and yummy. Fish market next to the restaurant is a bonus.
Nicely updated. But room was quite warm overnight
Really impressed with this place ! The staff friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and prices reasonably considering Ottawa is not on coast. Unfortunately my plate quite large and I had no room for dessert. Lots of free parking too!
We went for brunch, the lobster roll was good, but not the best I've had, even in Ottawa (ad mare comes to mind). Same for the chowder.
One of my favourite place when I am in Ottawa. Good food and good beers. I love the king crab especially. The crew is nice. Unfortunately the kitchen closes early, but I think it is in line with Canadian standards. Make sure you book a table
It was my first time here. The food and service were amazing ! I had the shrimp cocktail, the salmon and homemade ice cream. Everything was excellent. Also excellent service ! The bathrooms were clean. The staff makes sure to follow the covid guidelines. Plenty of free parking. The place has 2 sides, on the left a place to buy very fresh fish and seafood and on the right is the restaurant side. Such great food ! Will certainly go back ! A must try restaurant !
Only went once but i'll be going again - the menu has some very yummy sounding selections. Went for lunch to get some fish n chips - had the beer battered Haddock. It was nice and crunchy, and the fries were fresh too. The customer service was also very friendly.
Went here to buy some sushi-grade salmon ended up getting their fish and chips and chowder for lunch at the same time. It was all delicious. The online ordering and curbside pickup was very easy (they just put it in your trunk).
PEI Mussels - served with garlic and white wine sauce, very fresh and tasty. Lobster Roll - Served with salad and fries. Good in portion. Pan Roasted Scallop - served with pork belly and veggies. 10/10 ???????? New dividers installed for protection against COVID-19. Very friendly server.
My partner and I visited this restaurant on a whim, but it was an excellent decision and I'm certain we'll be back in no time! I ordered the fish and chips while my partner got the pasta, and we shared the calamari. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the pasta was on a whole other level. The sauce that accompanied the calamari completely elevated the experience, giving a lightness to the kick of the seasonings. The portions were large but light, leaving us feeling full but not overstuffed. The atmosphere was fun and comfortable, the prices were reasonable, honestly there's nothing I could complain about! We left with plenty of leftovers, and look forward to our next dining experience here! If you haven't eaten here yet, I cannot recommend it enough!
As a former fishmonger of this well respected seafood eatery Mark, Jim, and their dedicated staff continue to improve the quality of the food they create. Each time I visit the shop, there is always something new and improved of old trusted favorites: cold or hot smoked Flatfish, cod cakes, octopus, among the many other prepared ready to eat seafood delicacies. Like fish in the ocean, everyone here is constantly on the move be it serving customers, cooking in the kitchen, artistically displaying fresh fish, smoking fish, or checking seafood purchases on the net. Good reason this seafood eatery continues to offer its patrons the finest catch.
Service
Had an amazing anniversary dinner here at Pelican! Our first time here and we were impressed all the way! Food was hot, service was A+ and atmosphere was calm & quiet. Our dishes were wonderful, perfect portions and fresh seafood! ???? The only miss would be at the table we were seated at. We were next to the window and there was a cold draft. I tried to pull over the curtain to blocked it but they were foe curtains. ???? Either way, we'll be back!!!
The Pelican Seafood Market 1500 Bank St is a great place to dine (prior to Covid) and to get pick up food and to purchase fresh seafood. The assortment of market fresh seafood is great and all looks, tastes and smells fresh. They also sell some delicious special frozen seafood dinners as well. They are oven ready and with a bottle of wine, fresh bread, music and candles you will be ready for a romantic evening at home. If you like my review please give it a thumbs up so I will know that I am providing interesting comments. Thanks
Great service...family friendly atmosphere...delicious fresh seafood...what a nice surprise...garlic chorizo shrimp is a must...
While visiting Ottawa, we were craving seafood! Phenomenal place to go eat. You can't go wrong with everything on their menu. We also ordered their Lobster Bisque soup and Moules et Frites as an appetizer. Excellent service and magnificent food!
Excellent quality seafood restaurant. Grilled salmon sandwich was incredible. Lobster poutine was a treat , Haddock fish was fresh, chips are tasty and the calamari was perfect. A bit pricy but you definitely get quality. Curbside pickup was very convenient.
I come here every time I crave sashimi because their market offers the freshest sashimi in Ottawa. I've been to a couple different places for salmon sashimi. No one could measure up to them. Occasionally, they also have blue fin tuna sashimi which also tastes amazing and is super fresh. Their lunches are amazing, paired with gourmet sauces. I always have to come back whenever I crave fish and chips, lobster rolls or fish tacos!
Great store, amazing seafood and really pleasant and helpful staff
This review is based on an experience that happened some time ago. A friend of mine highly recommended this place. My wife and I were very excited to try a good seafood restaurant. We don't live near this place so it was a long drive. When we walked in we were happy it had a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately that's where the good feeling ended. The staff were extremely demeaning and rude, my wife and I both felt extremely uncomfortable there. What does the food taste like? I have no clue, because we never got a chance to try it, and I'll be damned if I come back to spend money after the way we were treated. Things may have changed now, but I'm not willing to risk it. Edit : yes I'm sure I visited your restaurant and reviewed it
Excellent meal and great food. Service was excellent. Great that they are open again.
Tasty food and very friendly waiters , reasonable price too
Excellent customer service.
Possibly one of the best places for seafood in Ottawa, everything on their menu is delicious and tenderly cooked, will definitely come back again.
Fresh seafood...not like we get in landlocked Saskatchewan.
Excellent cuisine. Great relaxed atmosphere and service. They have done a really detailed job on the execution of their covid protocols. Perfect spacing of tables and clear divider barriers that dont effect the ambience.
Needed a birthday treat of fish n chips. This was my first time at the Pelican and I'll definitely be back. The fish was delicious, good size portions and helpful, friendly staff at pickup. Can't wait to try the restaurant when it can reopen. Thank you!
Super friendly staff, even when the blackout happened, our server remained cheerful and fun. Overall food was goo. From order to table didn't take long. Panko fish and chips were very nice! Lobster poutine was good - light gravy, chunks of lobster, and skinny fries to match:)
Lobster roll was great the colsaw was definitely spoiled like horrible the food is good but that is prepackaged and its horrible fris are salty and very cheap it a seafood store so stick to the seafood no sides
My Lobster roll was delicious, but their normally delicious fries were cool and probably under a heater. They were very busy. Disappointed in the fries
Great service. We were a group of 9 and visited a Saturday noon without reservation. We were seated rather rapidely. Very fresh seafood. We ordered different meals from the lunch menu and especially loved the clam chowder, mussels, fish stew, red thai curry shrimp. Crispy calamari was quite salty. I would recommand to reserve in advance.
We called in and spoke with Jordan, on a Saturday at around 3:00pm. A simple order of fish and chips, but the service was professional, courteous, informative for someone who rarely eats fish or seafood. Haddock fish and chips were excellent. Fries on a takeout order were fresh, hot, and tasty. Without condiments (that were supplied, of course) the taste was delicious. It was inhaled, with enjoyment! We will likely be back tomorrow for more!! Easy to understand Pelican's rating now!! Enjoy!
Great food and friendly staff!
My boyfriend and I came to Pelican Restaurant on September 13th, the whole experience was WOW ! John was the one serving us, he gave us good advices and his service was amazing. Food was delicious ! Couldn't be better experience. 5/5
To celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary I ordered two lobsters from the seafood market. Not only were they impeccably cooked and cracked, but the clerk, on learning of our celebration, gave us two complimentary chocolate mousses, which were, to use an over-used phrase, to die for -- real, real chocolate -- delicious with a bottle of Cremant de Loire on our summer-evening verandah.
I have dined here on multiple occasions, the food is always fresh and tasty. So far I have tried lobster roll, garlic mussels and fish and chips, make sure to make a reservation.
I ordered the lobster roll. It comes with salad and fries. I like that if you can't decide on a side, you get both! The lobster roll was so fresh. The bun was soft and perfect. The lobster chunks were a good size. The lobster mixture was neither too runny, nor dry. It was perfect, without any extras that compromise the sweet taste of lobster. Delicious!
Amazing food ???? and the service is the best, we were there and henok gave us the best service ever!! ????
Meal type
Great service and good food. Able to adjust the menu for children. A lot of interesting options on the menu. I hope to go again.
Love the decor/atmosphere, service, and food. It's a great place for fresh seafood. Tried the Fish 'n chips with the beer batter and tried the panko (breaded) batter. Both were good, but the fish size (cod) was small. The 1 piece is definitely not enough. I'd definitely come back, but I'm hoping the portion sizes are a little bigger next time.
Super cozy place. They have a great selection of fresh seafood. The grocery section has lots of variety and it all looked delicious. We had lovely service and greatly enjoyed this spot. Thanks for having us!

Always excellent food and service, feels like home!!
Fresh seafood and great atmosphere. Service was ok but the food was amazing. Especially the Bobby dazzler. Highly recommend.
Not only the service is great but the food is really exceptional ! ????
Great dinner. Great service
Order from here often as their take-out game is on point! Today we had 3doz shucked oysters that were delicious and excellent presentation, a doz shrimp (large and meaty) and the steamed mussels - always excellent! Highly recommend.
Pelican Seafood Market is a great place to bring both family and couples . The restaurant provides a great menu of sea food dishes and wines with a few local beers on tap. The storefront also has great seafood to take home and cook as well as sauces and marinates. Plenty of parking and nice ambiance.
Loved the pan seared scallops the most! The place was packed, food tasted great, service was great!
Love the freshness and portion sizes!
Was here this week for dinner with a couple of friends. Browsed the Seafood Market when I arrived and was tempted. Service was quick, drinks arrived promptly, as did the food, even though shortly after we arrived the restaurant was packed. The food was excellent. We ordered the rainbow trout special, the fish & chips and the lobster fettuccine. Service was attentive. The portions were large, enough for leftovers. Reservations recommended. We'll be back!
The home-delivered 4-course New Year's Eve Lobster Dinner was delicious, eye appealing, easy to serve and a wonderful treat.
Triple D was not wrong. The food is amazing, fresh and hot. We did pick up orders due to covid. Bit still excellent.
If you are a seafood lover, try “The Bobby Dazzler”. It’s expensive but worth the price.
Lunch
Very good... Fish stew pictured
Fresh seafood, lively atmosphere. Great food.
Recently visited this restaurant and we are more than satisfied. We tried their fish and chips it was very good and fresh. Finally found a place that serves an excellent fish and chips. They also provide you with fresh bread as an appetizer to start with. ????????????????????????????????
Went to dinner with family. Delicious food and incredible service. !!!
Love. Great food! One of my "go to"s
As always, another stellar meal. Everything came out perfect. To help put it in perspective, I dislike soup but always have the lobster bisque when I come here. I dislike peas but only last visit ate every single one off my plate. Always enjoy the delectable food and impeccable service.
Food was excellent and amazing service! Strongly recommend it for seafood fans!
Service
Very nice atmosphere, courteous staff, but the food was so bland!!! Fish and chips tasted like grease, the coleslaw was flavorless, fish tacos we ok but you only get two small ones for 16 dollars. The oysters we're pretty delicious, and between 2 & 5 pm they are a buck an oyster. I expected a lot more from Pelican seeing how little selection was on the afternoon menu and the price of what was ordered. Service is slow for only 4 tables of people in the entire restaurant. Unfortunately I don't recommend eating here, Lapointe is a much better option.
Top place for sea food in town...
Good fish and chips. We take out fish and chips from here semi regularly. It is a family favorite that has been popular with guests. Take out is fast and easy, we have even made some large orders and they were able to accommodate no problem. We will be back.
Super delicious and very friendly staff. A must go.
Came here for lunch with my mom to have the happy hour oysters! It was my first time trying oysters and they were super fresh. Also had the lobster bisque soup and my mom had the clam chowder. Soups were seasoned nicely; not too salty and the lobster bisque I had also came with a handful of lobster chunks. Good overall experience and would recommend if you want fresh seafood!
It is probably the best fish and chips I have ever had in my entire life across the word (including London UK) The lobster poutine is definitely a novel thing to try. It was a bit salty to my liking. The lobster bisque is a must try. And combing the fries with the bisque seems nicer than lobster poutine????. The service is exceptional too and can’t wait to go back.
Regular patron, always enjoy!
Fantastic service and phenomenal food. Best lobster roll I've ever had, and even the fries are worth the trip. Shout out to Michael T. for exemplary service and taking the time to discuss the menu and give great recommendations. Will absolutely be returning.
The server was very nice, professional and courteous, but their food offering lacked in taste The lobster basque was underwhelming and hardly had any chunks of lobster and the base was very bland Their fish and chips was okay but the fish hardly had any taste, texture was good and cooked correctly and the crust was fantastic, maybe I should have gone with their halibut option as opposed to haddock
Amazing seafood and great service. Had lobster, moules frites and oysters - all utterly delicious!
We had a lunch here right before Christmas. It was great! The food is amazingly delicious and fresh, especially the tuna tartar. We also enjoyed the clam chowder a lot. The service is awesome. We enjoyed our time there.
Ordered from here a few times, never been let down. Always good food for a good price. I'm looking forward to coming back again and again. Some people say the fish market is over priced, I say yes it is more expensive but look at it this way, you can buy beef from a butcher and get quality or you can buy beef from a big box store and get meh. I prefer to pay more for quality fish. Plus they have selections the grocery store doesn't. This summer is going to be great with lots of fish done on my new grill.
One of the best seafood restaurants in Ottawa! Great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices, will be back.
We had a late Saturday dinner here and the experience was tops. I got the pan-seared trout... an excellent choice with wonderful sides. My wife ordered the pan-seared salmon and was delighted with her dinner. The restaurant is smallish and the atmosphere is quiet bustle. The service was excellent.
Best seafood ???????? in town! Incredible service too!
Ate here for my birthday last week. Delicious food and great service!
You must try the lobster soup. Its delicious. Love how they have made the place look i felt safe specially during this pandemic. totally recommend this place to you
Loved! Busy place with many regulars. I'm going back soon. Loved the food!
Amazing food ???? and the service is the best, we were there and henok gave us the best service ever!! ????
Yes to the shellfish happy hour ???? Nice diner atmosphere, good food and service make it a great place for dining with family.
I wanted something cheap, but delicious. I ended up ordering one piece of panko crusted haddock fish and chips meal for $15.00 including tax and tip. It was amazing. Best tartar sauce I have ever had. The fish was crispy and not oily at all. I usually steer clear of ordering fish and chips because I would take shellfish over fish any day, but this was truly amazing.
The service was great, and the food was really yummy (I had the tacos).
Never eaten at the restaurant, but often get salmon at the market and it's the best salmon I've ever tasted. So incredibly good.
Every time we go, every dish is phenomenal and the service is fantastic. Absolutely adored the scallops last night. Well done! Edited one year later to add that even during covid, their takeout is top notch! (See photo)
Service was excellent. Food was great. Like always. We will come again.
Great atmosphere. The seafood is fresh, their prices are reasonable, and the staff are kind. What more could you ask for?
Delicious food, great service and all safety precautions were taken.

Top notch everything. Service and staff are the best. The food is delicious.
Super Clean , very friendly staff ! Big variety on the menu , coconut shrimp are highly highly recommended , Red Thai curry mussels were delicious and the Caesar salad was super fresh. Overall it was a great experience , worth the drive down !
Picked up some lobster mac and cheese, fish cakes and some smoked trout and it was all absolutely delicious. The workers were very friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and great food! My partner and I have agreed the mac and cheese may have been the best we’ve ever had :)
Ordered the lobster dinner for tonight! This is 2nd year and will definitely be our annual tradition. Meal was excellent. Shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque, lobster ????. Rice pilaf, chocolate mousse... Fantastic! Thanks Pelican and Happy New year.
Pelican has some of the most fresh, most varied and most delicious seafood in the city. The seaweed and squid salads are both fantastic as snacks or sides; their cold smoked fish (I had the steelhead trout) is an addictively savoury treat. Staff service is always phenomenal, the prices reasonable for central Canada and such a wide choice of products means you will always find something new here! Thanks for everything, I'll be seeing you guys very soon :)
The service was very friendly and attentive.
Thanks verry much
Perfect portions, great presentation, very fresh, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff
Great food, great staffs! It was not first time for us to go this nice restaurant. We ordered, fish and chips, coconuts shurimp and calamari. Everything was perfect. Staffs were care about customer very well. Highly recommended!
Amazing food for excellent prices with attentive staff. Best fish and chips in the city, hands down.
Delicious plates. Cod, salmon, Fish and Ships, Lobster Roll. All of them are really good
food was so delicious, came quickly and very nice and polite service.
Ate here a few times and can not get over how good the food is. Every time. Everything I have had so far has been amazing (and I've had quite a few of their dishes by now) but if anyone is looking for suggestions, I think my favourite would have to be, handsdown, the lobster poutine.
I must say the service was good. First I ordered the salmon corn chowder with smoked bacon. It was very good but I didn't taste any smoked bacon. I then ordered the Haddock & Chip's . The haddock was nice and firm, but the batter was mostly soft with some crispy pieces at each end. The fries were great. The Cole slaw could of been a bit more Creamy with some pepper in there. Overall compared to other sea food restaurant's in ottawa I would give this restaurant a 3.5 to 4 star. This is the first time I have been to this restaurant
Amazing staff and amazing food will definitely be back
Everything was delicious and very friendly staff
Food was outstanding and the server was a delight!
This place was a great find! I googled "best seafood restaurant in Ottawa" and we were not disappointed. Had clam chowder, lobster bisque, cesar salad and lobster as a main meal. Everything was on point, I particularly enjoyed the clam chowder and would absolutely would go back. The staff was great, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Quick service and quality dishes. I absolutely recommend it :D Ps: extra points for the idea (and preparation) of their smoked bacon in the clam chowder and cesar salad, it was delicious!
Delicious seafood and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back!
Came last night for my birthday dinner and it was outstanding. COVID measures were in place and we felt very safe. Beyond that, the food was exceptional and our bill was quite reasonable given that we essentially ordered HALF THE MENU. Everything was delicious, but calamari was my favorite! Brock was our server and he was so professional and handled our confusing orders and bills very efficiently! Will be back for sure.
Awesome food and atmosphere. Staff is super fun and happy. Love it all!!
One of the best fish and chips places in the city! The seafood is always super fresh and delicious. Great for dine-in or take-out.
Fantastic food and service!

Pretty much the best and the only real sea food resto in town.
We've had a great experience every time we've gone here. The food and service is excellent. Can't wait to go back!
Great service, beautiful seafood, going to be my favorite spot for oysters
We went for buck a shuck (sadly over now). Great food, wonderful service. Making a huge effort to keep everyone safe. Service was fantastic, attentive and sincerely friendly.
Eaten here twice in recent months and cannot fault the service or food quality. Restaurant is always busy so making a reservation is recommended. Attached fish market has everything you could want and again the service is excellent
Unfortunately I ordered the mussels as an appetizer. And I spit out about 3. They tasted horrible. Almost like they were dirty. I ate the tuna tataki rice bowl. And it was drowned in sauce and the only flavor I could taste was ginger. Service was okay though. Also. The sides on my boyfriend's breakfast were sad looking.
Great food and great service. Very simple menu items executed perfectly.
We just happened to grocery shopping at Fatm Boy and saw this spot. We walked in and I could smell fish at the ocean; a good song of a fresh fish market/restaurant. The contain shrimp were cooked perfectly, oysters fresh and delicious, maple glazed salmon was seasoned very well, cooked perfectly and the smashed fingerling potatoes were great. The best meal was the fish n chips because of the malted salt used to season the fries. The best fresh fries I’ve had in a very long time! Adriana was our server and she really made our night great. I love great service! I am DEFINITELY going back and HIGHLY recommend Pelican Seafood Market!! I was a little late taking pictures..the food smelled so good we stared eating when the food arrived.
Definitely my favorite restaurant in Ottawa!!! The Lobster roll was soooo good and everything else were sooo nice tooo!
Nice combination of seafood market and seafood restaurant. It seems a shame to waste the opportunity to offer fresh sashimi on the menu.
Fish and Chips are excellent. Great service, fast and friendly staff. Definitely will be back for fish Friday again. Cheers
Fresh seafood is great and loved the artic char but was really not impressed with the in-store products. Specifically the Crab Dip which just tasted weird and the Cocktail Sauce which was really just ketchup and horseradish, arguably the worst I've ever had. Crab Cakes were OK but not $10 each ok.
One of best seafood places in Ottawa!! Even our kids loved the food. Service is quick and very friendly.
Best seafood in Ottawa!
Never order food from Pelican Seafood Market and Grill until yesterday since I was craving for fish and chips. We ordered 2 pieces beer battered and panko-crusted haddock fish and chips and chowder. The beer battered fish - tender, moist, and crispy for both fish. However, when I got to the second fish it had a bit more battered than the first fish so only the fish was eaten. The panko-crusted haddock - less grease, crispy and moist. I would order this one for myself next time. Fries- nicely crisp slender fries and the Harissa Aioli was a nice dipping sauce. Chowder - Amazing flavour and creamy filled with potatoes and clams. This was a definitely a hit with us even after we were full with our fish and chips. Packagings - compostable. It was great to throw everything in the compost except for the packaging for the coleslaw. We will try next time to call and see if we cannot take the coleslaw as we didn't have an option to remove it from the online system. Overall, we would order from Pelican Seafood Market and Grill again.
Lobster egg benedict is an excellent choice for Sunday brunch. There is also a seafood market with lots of seafood products such as lobster Mac & Cheese! It's surely a lobster lover's paradise.
So good had the snow crab dinner with a bowl of clam chowder to start. We love this place!
Great service at the counter and great food as well. Good location to find sashimi grade salmon.
Always fresh and great selection, our go-to place for seafood. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing food. I love the private booths. My favourite is the shrimp and lobster roll.
It was my first time going to Pelican restaurant. I liked the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, and the quality of the food. Fish and chips was great. The fish was very tasty and wasn't very oily like some other places. The crispy calamari and lobster roll were delicious as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back to try the other food in their menu too.
All fresh Great service and good price. We go here when in ottawa area.
Great customer service. Good safety measures against COVID-19. Curbside pick up work well. Also the food is great.
First time trying from this restaurant. Food was so good, like wooow. Highly recommended See you again for sure ❤️ Thank you????????????????
Delicious!
We just ate lunch at the Pelican ,for my husband’s birthday, we had the mussels in white wine , they were excellent, our entrees were the fish tacos, the snow crab, and fish and chips . All were cooked to perfection. The staff were polite and efficient. They surprised my husband with a creme brûlée for his birthday, will definitely return the next time we visit Ottawa
Always fresh and good. Pricey but you know it will be fresh. They also have Sushi grade fish which is nice.
Pleasantly surprised. I went with my parents for lunch. My dad almost always makes a fuss about something at every restaurant but here he did not! Some of the best service I have received in Ottawa so far. The food was great.
I was waiting for my lobster more then 30 minutes. Answer was - cooking! cooking! In 45 minutes I got that - hardly warm lobster with dark color . ,I supposed that lobster come to me fromr freezer and microwave . That all looks like cheating customer. P.S. That lobster was precooked long time ago. It was not fresh obviously. I am permanent customer and never got lobster like it happened last time. And last time I didn't left any tips, that first time in my life. Also I told about that in social media, hopefully people would take lesson from my bad experiences
Food was excellent! Service was ok. Not bad just unremarkable. I found there where to many people coming to the table, I prefer to have one who just does a good job. And know what is going on at the table. The food was incredibly fresh and I felt there COVID set up was great! The table separators didn't take anything away from the look at all . It was done very well. Definitely will return . We had fresh Oysters.....they where excellent. A Ceaser that was great, I would have had another if I had been offered. A few difference hot sauce options could have had the oysters even better but that is just something I really like. The cerveche was fresh and the mirco cilantro was a gorgeous and delicious add. The chips where nice and fresh and the perfect thickness to hold up the fresh fish, scallops and prawns. The lobster roll was on a perfectly toasted bun and was filled with a perfect balance of proteins and fillers . The fish and chips was perfect! So crisp and the fries where fresh cut and perfectly seasoned . Best I've had in Ottawa. Definitely recommend this spot if you like seafood. I can't wait to go back !
Lobster was absolutely perfect, caesar salad was scrumptious, fries were crispy and tasty, crème brûlée was diviiiiine! Warm and friendly service. What a great evening. Thank you!
the place is super ,all seafood is displayed beautiful and everything is super fresh .a little pricey ,but its well worth the money
Pelican Fisheries has been a landmark for many years on Bank Street and in 1996, added the seafood restaurant and was changed into what is now Pelican Seafood Market and Grill. The Lobster Poutine is a real original and the Clam Chowder is hearty. Delicious!
$77.00 for a kilo of fresh fish? $17.00 a kilo at produce depot for the same exact fresh fish! I felt foolish and stupid buying a small piece due to an emergency. USED TO LIKE THIS STORE. Never again will I shop here.
- In-depth covid protocol. - Hand sanitizer stations. - Large dividers between each table creating a private experience. - Staff were wearing masks. - Easy WiFi access. No password required. - Fresh fish market with fine dining & relaxed background music. - Washrooms in back right corner. Wheelchair access & clean. - Located in strip mall beside FarmBoy off Bank St., directly across from Parts Source (red building). - Large parking lot in front of restaurant. - Fresh seafood, tasty sides, & delicious drinks. - The staff were friendly, welcoming, & proud of where they worked. - The Creme Brulee was an ECvip favorite.
We had a wonderful evening with excellent staff, really tasty lobster and perfect wine accompaniment. For our two daughters a coordinated main course was conjured up. The ambience and the atmosphere were very familiar, relaxed and yet elegant. Thanks to the kitchen and the service. If we would not live in Germany, we would like to come back soon. The children and us liked it very much!
The food was great l. The staff was very professional and friendly: thanks John !!! good experience ;-)
Fresh ingredients, balanced flavours, friendly staff & overall a great vibe.
Delicious and very fresh everytime. We love coming here!

One of best seafood places in Ottawa!! Even our kids loved the food. Service is quick and very friendly.
The food is good here. We ordered a little too much for 2 people, but definitely worth the try. Would recommend here for seafood.
Awesome. My wife and I ordered fresh oysters, lobster bisque, clam chowder, a large steamed lobster, haddock fish and chips and more oysters for dessert. Everything was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Add a pint of Beau's and the bill was $140 before tip. I think it's a good deal and service wasn't bad either. Will go again in a heartbeat.
Excellent food and service!
A truly special place; delicious fresh quality food. Charming and quaint venue. Their staff was both super friendly and highly professional, especially our server Leah! We will be going back as much as we can and please try their chowder! Thank you Kyle and Nicole.
Quality product on the restaurant side and the fish market side. One of our favourite spots for celebration meals.
Amazing! Will come back, best fish and chips I have ever had.
Thanks as always for the exceptional experience. For as long as I have been in Ottawa (7 years)John has been giving me top notch service.
Always an amazing experience. The buck a shuck is worth the visit in itself the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
I was in the Ottawa area and this was the first restaurant I decided to go to on my trip. This place did not disappoint. I got there without a reservation at about 11:10 am (Kitchen opens at 11:30 am) on a Friday and they were still able to accommodate me. They still let us go in and order a drink before the kitchen opened. Soon after they opened, it was starting to get really busy so I recommend you make a reservation. The food, service, atmosphere, everything was excellent. This spot is a gem. I would definitely go back.
Great place! Never would have found it had we not been looking, but given that at 3:00 they were packed - they don't need the extra exposure. We arrived earlier than expected, and as such the dinner menu wasn't ready. The owner and manager went out of their way to make sure my daughter could have the duck (yes, DUCK at a seafood restaurant - and it was awesome). Oysters to start (buck a shuck during November). Perfectly fresh and tasty. Daughter had the Confit Mariposa Farm Duck Leg Served with Turnip Latke, Maple Syrup Gastrique and Sautéed Juniper Farm Vegetables. Veggies were perfectly steamed and the duck (which took some time because we were early) was fall off the bone tender. I had the lobster roll (my go to at any seafood restaurant - if you cant make a decent lobster roll, you aren't a good seafood restaurant). The roll did not disappoint with tender, LARGE chunks of lobster tail and a creamy dressing. The fries were cooked properly and were fresh. Next time see if I can sub a full size salad instead of the fries/tony side salad combo. The house dressing was great. They also have a large selection of beer on tap, as well as the usual cocktails and a decent wine list. Daughter had the Moscow Mule, I had a local Calabogie amber ale which went down great. The prices are average for a seafood place, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere and food were phenomenal, and the staff very knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely be back.
Usually excellent, but a little off tonight. Will definitely return as this was very unusual.
Wonderful service, selection and quality. The person who greeted and me and got my order was quick and pleasant too!
~ I broke my number one rule when it comes to sea food ????????…I will not eat it more than 100 km from a coastline. It was worth it tho. The fish and chips were perfectly breaded and not too oily for having been deep fried! There were some delicious fresh oysters you can try with the promise of “tasting the sea” - they did not disappoint, interesting texture and consistency, but worth a try at least once. The desert was some sort of fried chocolate and delicious ice cream. Recommend someone from the East or West Coast try this place and give us their thoughts ???? Would I go again ? If I was into seafood, definitely, it’s just not one of my go-to meal preferences…too far from the coast. ????
Fantastic Halibut Fish and Chips. Buttery soft, flaky fish and perfect shoe string fries.
Best fish (halibut) & chips. Have only done curbside but looking forward to being out of lockdown so that I can experience it the way it was meant to be.
Seafood lovers, this is our Disney World. Not a big menu, but everything in it is magical.
Have purchased from the market multiple times without disappointment. Be sure to make a reservation for the resturant side. Best Calamari around, among other great selections.
We have been coming here for 5-6 years now but ... over the time we noticed the food quality went down and prices went up unfortunately:( they used to have pasta with lobster sauce and sea food and it’s no longer on menu; lobster poutine used to have chunks of lobster and now it’s barely anything it it beside sauce; my favourite item Seafood stew is off the menu and replaced with $35 fish stew that doesn’t even compare unfortunately. Not really choice of green salads except $12 few salad leaves Very poor value-for-money. $100 won’t get you far without alcohol. SERVICE however is always outstanding!!!! We decided not to come back due to the menu changes to the worse. It used to be my favourites sea food restaurant :( not anymore
Favorite fancy seafood eating spot in town. Every dish is super delicious! And very reasonable price. Super friendly and helpful stuff. Highly recommended
The place has the best customer service I have ever experience in Ottawa. The food is top notch too. I had their tandoori salmon sanwhich-- it reminded me of parts of a Vietnamese banh mi. They reinvented and fused flavours without bastardising the original, which a find a lot of people do when they sell "bang mi." The oysters were fresh. I absolutely love their horseradish mixed with lemon, like, and orange/mandrine rinds. They have great Covid protocol too. I am totally going to come back.
Let me start by saying that the food and service were extraordinary, and some of the best seafood we have ever tasted. I would have given it 5 stars but I had a couple of minor issues. Mainly that they only had salmon and trout as fish options, there was no catch of the day. I was looking forward to a nice healthy meal of some sort of interesting fish like Mahi Mahi, Cod or Halibut etc. The decor was disappointing, Pelican Seafood market and Grill is a little expensive and the food is first class but the overall ambiance is a little drab. The place is very loud and my table wobbled. But the food was amazing and that is the main thing.
It's ok. I find it similar to red lobster. I had the surf and turf and found the batter to be a little too oily. My wife had the lobster and shrimp roll and we found this way overpriced since it's not really stuffed well. Considering there's a mix of shrimp in this, it should not be a $29 dish. Wife also had the fish soup but very little fish in it. My lobster bisque was lacking flavor. Service is friendly.
I am a Nigerian but I would love to eat here sometimes ????????????
The best seafood I have had in the Canadian east coast. Fresh oysters, amazing crab cakes and lobster rolls to die for paired with very seafood centric cocktails. Amazing!
Service
Portions are on the small side. If you're hungry order an entree. Grilled salmon is child size. Red Thai shrimp not many in the plate. Too much rice. I recommend the chowder. Order the bowl for 3 bucks more. If not they'll charge you $6, for a child sized cup. Quality food. Small portions from my experience. I've eaten at several seafood places. Your salmon piece is the smallest if the bunch. And yes I've found several places that satisfy my appetite. And my girlfriend's. She also wasn't impressed with a plate of shrimp. Full of rice. Not impressed by your establishment. Good luck
Great food for affordable prices. Enjoyed the service and the vibe of the restaurant. Definitely coming the next time I am in Ottawa !
Quality fresh fish and seafood, good variety.
I have a slightly high propensity to indulge in Seafood relative to other food groups. So for my birthday this year, I googled Seafood restaurants. Pelican had a high SEO rank and quite a few sterling reviews already. Another alluring feature though is that there is also a supremely fresh fish market adjoined, which amazingly did not impact the aroma in the restaurant. The temperament inside the restaurant had a bistro semblance. Although the decor was not overly artful, I loved the familial feel by displaying photos of the staff on the wall. Just makes you feel right at home. My first experience at Pelican was on a Friday. So regrettably an oversight from my end was reviewing their peak business hours - I overlooked simply checking “popular times” on Google. This simple analytical tool from Google would have likely changed my reservation to another day of the week, as it was quite busy when I arrived around 5:30 PM. On that note, myself and my party were waiting over 10 minutes to be served. I started with an appetizer, as their Fish Tacos seemed descriptively irresistible: “fresh grilled corn tortillas with crispy fish, charred Jalapeno sauce, lime crema, pico de gallo & pickled onions”. Although my palate is sensitive to spicy (so no Jalapeno sauce for me), all the other flavors still came through - so the crunchy batter and lime crema were more than sufficient. Definitely an affordable appetizer for 9$. I opted for the Pan Seared Salmon as the main course, in lieu of the ubiquitous fish and chips (next visit). The crunchy golden brown skin was dusted with maple glaze and the interior was buttery soft. So essentially it was super delish and competitively priced at 26$. The salmon was also paired with mashed potatoes, kale and sauteed root vegetables, which all definitely elevated the meal. My dinner was surprisingly rewarded with a complimentary Creme Brulee (also unbeknownst to my family members as they did not order it). Finally, I even shopped their vastly assorted market. I tried their Seafood Pie and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Both were reasonably priced at 9$ and scrumptious! I will definitely recommend Pelican to all akin Seafood lovers. I will also return as I only sampled from their dinner menu.
Amazing food and service. We went because of Diners, drive ins and dives and we will be back
Service
Good food, great service!
The food was delicious. Staffs were friendly.
Great place for seafood lovers, everything here is so fresh!
Best seafood in Ottawa (probably, I haven't been everywhere) Went for dinner with family. Got 8 different appetizers/meals. All excellent. Jacob's service and recommendations were great too.
Dinner
Pelican’s fish is always fresh and the taste is always a cut above other markets. Their online service is easy, convenient and efficient. Orders are ready, on time, for Curbside or pick up in the store. The portions and cuts are consistent. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Clean restaurant and very helpful staff. You could eat there or buy your fish. Their fish is mostly fresh, make sure you ask them when they got the fish. They clean the fish for you and gives you ice for the trip. They different kind of sauces and other stuff they make like smoked shish. It is my favorite place to buy fish from even though the price is a bit high.
The food was fantastic and so was the staff! First time and will be coming back for sure.
Now this place is well worth a stop. We visited from Toronto where we are spoiled with great food and this place ranks right at the top. You cant ask for much more from a Seafood Restaurant. Extremely clean, Super fresh fish and really friendly and welcoming service I’d come back here in a heartbeat. Nice simple menu with a wide variety of options and everything is prepared to perfection. You can take a look at my pics and I’d recommend anything there but whatever you choose of your liking on the menu has to be good the way I see it. Kudos to the owners and staff of this place for doing such a great job all the way around. I’d highly recommend a visit here to anyone who’s thinking about it ????????????
Very good service. The staff fenomenal. Food vas not as good as expected but not bad
This place hits all marks. We got a lobster dinner to go for New Years Eve and it was over and above better than anything I could have imagined. The instructions were very easy to follow and the food was delicious. The lobster was pre-cut so it was easy to get all of the lobster meat out. And that butter. WOW. That is like liquid gold. Food 5 Atmosphere (didn’t eat at location but will) Service 5 Cleanliness 5 Overall experience 5 It was such a treat walking into this little spot. All the employees where super helpful and carried a smile which I always appreciate seeing. Also, the customers coming in made me feel like this was a home and they were going over for a home cooked meal. I spoke to more people walking into this restaurant than I have going to my last 10 restaurants combined. Just an amazing experience.
Take out
Words can not describe the pure perfection of their take-out fish and chips. 10/10, two thumbs up, will eat their food at home again.
Delicious food and amazing service!
Amazing food and service!! Although it’s right beside their market, when you sit down to have dinner, you can’t even tell you’re beside one. Lovely staff and great COVID-19 measures!
Clean, EXTREMELY TASTEY, unique, I would give 10 stars for taste, quality, price, quantity. Highly recommended!
The seafood his fresh and just so good fish and chips the best I have had in a while you have to try it and great service
We love the fresh selections here. Their staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about the fish they sell. You won't be disappointed with a trip to Pelican. Social distancing and covid-19 measures are on point and they offer curbside pickup.
This is our favourite seafood restaurant in Ottawa. The Oysters were amazing super fresh and the sea food pasta was unbelievable as well. We are always looking for another options for seafood in town but we always ended up there lol. Highly recommended.
We definitely enjoyed our lunch here at Pelican Seafood market and grill. Everything tested great. Hope to come back next time we will be in Ottawa area.
Amazing fish and service. Been picking up fish during covid and service and selection is the best. Strong emphasis on safety as well and manages number of people in store .
The best seafood in Ottawa!
$22 Lobster Benny consists of lobster chops and poached eggs on top of toasted English muffins with creamy hollandaise. Perfect! The potato wedges at side are tasty as well.
Excellent service and food. Stuff took good care of us. And very good Pinot Noir !
Meal type
Excellent services and the food was absolutely amazing.
One of the places to go get some seafood fix in Ottawa.
Amazing service, the food was excellent
Beautiful little family owned restaurant with the best fish Sea food/ fish plate you will get in the region! My husband and I discovered this restaurant because we were looking for a sea food restaurant that doesn’t taste like butter (like popular seafood competitor) and found that amazing restaurant. We have been going there since and never have been disappointed!! Everything on the menu is amazing! Oysters are amazing and fresh!! Highly recommend!
We always have had a great experience when we go here. The food is fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back.
you can see here folks, if you're not happy they will be rude and sarcastic.
A must go to and you will enjoy
Amazing fresh fish with wonderful service and an interesting menu. The place is clean and organized. Our kids enjoyed the Halibut and fries and calamari. We enjoyed the North Rustico Lobster-shrimp Roll & Red Thai Shrimp. Yummy
Other
Love my men meal here
Nice place to dine at. Family friendly atmosphere. The dishes are reasonably priced for the serving size. I had the worst luck and of course had a fly land inside my cup of beer which was not pleasant but kind of expected as it was a seafood restaurant/market store. They did replace it with a new one. We ordered lots (forgot to take photos of everything). It can take a little while to get the servers attention for refills, or napkins - even when it’s not too busy. Other than that, I’d come back but probably wouldn’t be my top picks for seafood.
Great oyster deals 2pm to 5pm! Also get the muscles in the white wine garlic sauce.
The personal at this establishment were very helpful and made many suggestions to accompany the lobster we had ordered.
It is not our first time at the Pelican Grill but it is our first family gathering at the Pelican Grill since the start of the pandemic. We had a great time. We felt safe and relax in the restaurant with the measures put in place. Service was great and the food is delicious as always.
Great seafood and excellent service
Was just there for a birthday dinner. Service was phenomenal (shoutout Terry). She was amazing , very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning for some more crab and oysters!! Good food , good time.
Top tier food for a pretty good price. Ordered the fish tacos, the calamari and the pei mussels- LOVED all of them.. Also very good service, our waiter was super nice. Overall definitely recommend going if you are in Ottawa.
The Pelican Seafood Market has been a favorite of the family for 2 generations. The restaurant part of the business is temporarily closed due to covid and their takeout menu has subsequently been expanded to include some of dine-in favorites. When we were there they were filming informative sessions for their website.
Meal type
Friendly and accommodating staff, the food was just delicious. Be sure to arrive before 4:30 for their dollar oysters!
We absolutely loved the food and service. Prices are very reasonable.
Food was very very good. Service was excellent. I like how the restaurant found a creative way to separate diners while not making them feel as if they were closed in. Highly recommended.
Really love their food, this time though it was all a bit off... breading falling off the fish, fish on the dry side and the fries were not very good... This is NOT the norm for this restaurant, I will return, no doubt just hope it's prepared a little bit more carefully.
Wow! The food! The service! This place is wonderful. Truly enjoyed the calamari, the fish tacos and the lobster poutine was AMAZING! There is Beau’s on tap and a good wine selection. If you enjoy seafood, you’ll want to make this place a stop.
Amazing ????????! I had the lobster bisque and lobster fettuccine. Both were rich with so much flavor. Amazing staff and atmosphere. Very decent price for great food!
Once again, the entire staff from servers to kitchen, especially Chef were AMAZING!!! TOTALLY able to squeeze our last minute birthday reservation in for 14. We have NEVER had a bad experience, and love the staff like family. Everyone in the party were extremely satisfied and loved their meals....they will all be repeat customers. Thanks to all @ the Grill!!!! ????
Products are always fresh and appetizing. Staff behind the counter is hardworking, efficient and knowledgeable.
Pelican Seafood Market and Grill is a great seafood market and restaurant. The menu is good, the seafood is fresh and sustainable. The staff is cheerful and professional. We go often with family and friends. The food is consistently good and of a high quality. All of this applies to the market side as well.
Very excellent seafood spot. We had the nicest waitress, didn't get a chance to get her name but you're awesome girl! Plates in the photo are; PEI mussles, oysters, clam chowder, pan seared scallops and the special of the day. It did get a tad pricey but it's very cosy and cute. I will definately be returning
