Very cool store, huge collection and variety of fish and coral. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. However keep in mind they only have products for salt water tanks, nothing freshwater.

Ok, this place is a niche for saltwater aquariasts. These guys know their stuff and sell healthy specimens. Their advice has prevented a lot of mishaps in the hobby which is can be very costly.

I'm still a newbie with marine aquariums so i do have a lot of questions and running to a lot of 'common newbie problems'. they are very helpful and took the time to help me out. if something wasn't working, i went in and they offered me possible solutions. They stock pretty much everything you need and their products are great! nice choice to corals/fish.

I have nothing but great things to say about Marinescape. Keith and Mark are extremely helpful and are always willing to answer your questions. They have no problem helping newbies by offering beginner corals, advice, and years of knowledge. If you've been in the hobby for a few years and are looking for specific things, ask them if they can get it... If they can't, they'll give you a few places they know of that might be able to. As always, they have the best coral selection in the city.

I love privately owned stores. I needed special silicone your adhesive that was safe to use in aquariums, and they had it in stock. I called a store closer to me, and their version of this product cost exactly twice as much, and they were a chain. Needless to say, I purchased the product, and it was exactly what I needed. One if the owners did the transaction, and he was very friendly and answers my questions. I recommend them to anyone looking for anything to do with aquariums.

This store is a disgrace. I have never seen such a filthy aquarium store in my life. Every tank is full of pest algae and aptasia. (Thanks by the way - can I have that Aptasia-X on the house?) The displays are in disrepair. Marine fish in a display better suited for betas? Meanwhile, the two guys running the store sit around and chat while they really should be maintaining the homes for these animals. Over the past 18 months I’ve seen the slide further downwards; time to shut it down guys - you’ve lost interest in your business and the welfare of the animals that you keep. I’m really shocked at the other ratings - what a bunch of uninformed ‘me-too’ reviews.

Absolutely the best Ottawa has to offer!! No kids who don't know what they're talking about like at the big chain, or guys who will sell you anything (even when it's not right for your tank) like other smaller stores. I have been in the hobby for a year and a half and have a thriving mixed reef tank thanks to Mark and Keith! Really amazing advice (and selection), couldn't ask for better. They're crazy honest...rare in a world where money is usually the deciding factor. I spend a lot of time researching on the big online reef forums and have heard so many nightmares about bad LFS's...not these guys! Shout out to Gord as well who fills in from time to time...they even hooked me up with a guy who will tend my tank when I'm gone for long periods...and soon to be working on a custom tank with them. One stop shop...no-one offers service like that these days. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed!

This is an amazing resource for the marine aquairum community in Ottawa. The owners and staff are exceptionally approchable. They provide advice and share stories with clients in a way that makes it feel like an exclusive club, instead of a store. They offer weekly bulk pricing on clean up crew and will only stock fish and invertibrates that are appropriate for amateur aquarists. They clearly care about the hobby and it's my pleasure to visit as often as i can.
