Place is great looking love the rustic feel, it really stands out. Staff was extremely friendly. I had a poutine, presentation was fantastic, fries were well cooked, my only complaint is the gravy was too salty kinda ruined it for me. Not sure if it's a one off or that is it's usual taste, I will give it another try and change my rating if it is indeed different.

My personal favourite smoke shop in the Outatouais Region. The burger Monstre is amazing, their spicy coleslaw is refreshing and the Poutine selection is above the standard. Awesome place and great catering services available.

Invested in a great BBQ lunch on Saturday with pick up from the business (so we could get it home quickly). The bbq ribs were perfect fall off the bone with a good smoke ring & the bbq chicken was also very tender & smokey good. Very impressed & we will be back.

One of the best beef brisket joints in the Ottawa/Hull area. The beef brisket is moist, slightly smokey, and 100% delicious. The applewood smoked ribs are also very good, they get a little char on them before serving and they taste great. The service rocks and the atmosphere of the small restaurant is really great. Anyone who likes good meat should be going to Le BBQ Shop.

Good Music and the "Shop" itself has a pretty awesome ambiance. The place seems pretty popular as there are a lot of people coming in and out from the restaurant . They have a good selection of beer, which is a plus. However, I had a literal "beef" with their beef brisket. It was dry, and it was all cut up, and not in the traditional strips. The flavoring was really bland, and instead of serving the BBQ brisket with some extra BBQ sauce they served it with mayonnaise and pesto???? WHO DOES THAT??? It was cray cray. The macaroni and cheese was alright, missing some flavor too and it was only room temperature at some points. The prices were pretty decent, its what you expect from a place that serves BBQ style food.

Awesome pulled pork and craft beer to boot. Still a relatively well kept secret. A little out of the way, but worth the drive. [Edit] Two years after my first review, I must unfortunately say that it isn't what it used to be. Prices have raised dramatically, and you never know what to expect anymore. It is always very busy as well. If it was my first visit, I would give it three stars.

We stopped in for a coffee and dessert on an impromptu date night. We had the rum cake and the deep fried Mars bar... Pure decadent sweetness. The smell of bbq just added to our experience and we will definitely need to go back for the dinosaur sized chicken wings. Nice spot, nice staff, awesome dessert.

Great idea, but the restaurant is awkward. Tight passageways, packed cheek to jowl. The food needs a bigger space. The service seemed to find our table an inconvenience after we waited 2 hours for our food. Not sure what the trick is to getting good service there. It's sad because the food is decent.

Best mac and cheese I've ever had. Usually mac and cheese is an afterthought, this was definitely not an afterthought. If you're having the mac and cheese as a meal, you'll only be able to finish half of the large size if you're a 130lb, 5'3 female. So get the small. Service can be slow, but I have all the time in the world. I think they could do with another server. Came here twice already, I tried the beef brisket the first time - it was good but I think I'll bring my own hot sauce next time. The green paste was okay, but it had a lemony quality that didnt fit the beef for me.

Instead if having the fries, we opted for the salad which was also great: an excellent mix of salty from the feta, acidity ad freshness! Staff is super friendly, nice patio opening soon on top (currently Apr 18).

This is nice but, quite small place with interesting selection. Place is clean and personal are friendly. It could be too noisy and another big downside - menu only in French language. As I understand, this eatery will relocate soon for some other place and I am looking forward to meet again. It is worth to try.

Food: Was OK. Not much "smoke" flavor. We had the beef brisket. Prices were a little high and the plates were a little small. Fries were amazing though. Ambiance: We got to sit outside on a nice warm day. Inside is very small and tight. No menus and just scribbled on a blackboard. So a little confusing as to what you will get. Caution: Watch out for the strongly sprung front door. It whipped back quickly and hit my 4yr old in the back of the head.

Unfortunately I cannot talk about the food. I waited at the door about 10 minutes before been greeted and when finally someone asked me about the food I wanted, they seemed bother and not very friendly. I asked how long it might take since I saw they were busy, and again very unfriendly they answered that how can they know. Since it seems I was bothering them since they were busy to take care of clients, I decided to leave. It is sad because it seems like a nice place. I would recommend them to organize better and be nicer to clients even if they are busy.

The absolute best poutine I've ever had and that's saying a LOT. Try it with their shredded chicken and you'll never be able to go back to your corner chip shack. Food aside, we've always received excellent service from friendly staff and the kitchen is always clean. It's a small shop in a basement but don't let that fool you. We've met the owner a few times and he's obviously very passionate and humble. Try it some time!

Le BBQ Shop has some great potential, to which it's not yet living up. Their tiny basement space with industrial-chic decor was cool and inviting. The menu was limited but enticing. The staff were friendly. But the actual cooking had mixed outcomes. The pulled pork sandwich was great; no complaints about that. The Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich was less successful; though the smoked chicken was juicy and tender, the sauce tasted nothing like any jerk seasoning I've ever encountered. The poutine was also disappointing; the gravy had a nice flavour, but the fries were overcooked and the curds had clearly come out of a fridge or (perish the thought) even been frozen. I'd like to see this promising little business succeed, and will probably give it another try someday, but am currently somewhat dissatisfied.

Great BBQ! Nice, friendly guys running the place. Portions are big. Ate too much. :-) Inside has only a couple tables so limited seating in the winter; take-out may be the best option. Plenty of picnic tables outside for the summer.

We had a nice, the place wasn’t busy when we arrived but we still had to ask for menus ourselves. The food was tasty but I found that the brisket was dry for my liking and my husband’s chicken lacked a bit of spice. The portions are very generous and the fries and Mac and cheese are very good.

First time there. Service was ok. I had ribs and brisket, not a lot of meat on the bones and brisket was very dry. Babybell was not melted all the way, my friend had jerk chicken and was sick all night. I saw red near bone and she stopped eating it. I know covid has affected all but this was disappointing. The cornbread was amazing and so was the cookie and the drink. I would wait a few months and try again in case it was an off day for the chef. We all have them.

Delicious mac & cheese with pulled pork. The brisket was good but half of each of the pieces on the plate was fat. They should trim their brisket piece a little more. I basically threw out half of the portion because it was just fat.

I like the smoky flavor s but had take out was désappointé on 78 $ bill the french fries that were so good on my fist visit , well the wore soggy and re heated from the day before ..they changed their take out menu. I have to stay home to care for ... I cannot have as much available to me on the take out also offers no delivery and can not each them to have to food prepared a head ,they do not answer the telephone , and their only open 5 days a week so it's when they do want to sell And they kindly will decline any changes or add one .. also Google does not have the right open and closed .

Great food, and great service from 2 servers! One should be promoted to customer tho... got there 30 min before my 6 people reservation primary because of multiple road closures around, it become a Commitment to go there... after asking the patio and been declined we sat at the bar for 1 drink and was ignored repeatedly for 25 min other people were served and got food before us... finally was asked what for drink after asking twice for service, my first 2 options in the menu were out... if the other 4 weren’t on their way I would have walked out. Could have been 5 stars, but with this lack of acknowledgement this is a 3. One person can take you company down!!

First time customer, read some reviews and decided to try. The place itself is absolutely great, the outside area is chill and inviting with the hanging lights and all the wooden decor, and inside is cozy. However, the tables were very dirty, there was a random unfinished beer on one of them, we had to pick one and the one we sat at still had old food chunks on it and some liquid splatter, there were also no napkins to clean it up ourselves, so minus one star for that. We ordered regular poutines and the aluminum pans they come in are very cute but the gravy was either very salty or just had too many condiments in it I couldn't put my finger on it. So minus a star for that. Fries were very good however, and we didn't try the burgers, might come back to try them some other time, hoping it will be cleaner then!

We go here for the jerk chicken poutine which is my favourite here. I love the sauce they put on top of the gravy, curd, chicken and fries. Get a small because it really is a large for one person! Or get a large and share it between two people. You won't be disappointed. They also have plugs and usb plugs in case you wanted to charge your phone.

New location, same delicious fare. I went there for take out, but the new location has way more vibe/atmosphere than the old location. (I literally drove past the old location every day for a year, thinking it was a BBQ repair shop - that's how nondescript it was.) New location has much better character. Even without the new vibe, this place is worth it just for the food. The mac and cheese is out of this world (especially if you opt for the spicy bacon or pulled pork version). Deep fried pickles, ribs, pulled pork, jerk chicken, poutine - everything I've tried has been delicious. I would give them five stars but takeout seems to be kind of an afterthought in the new location, and the menu now seems to cater more to dine-in clients. But who cares. It's still the best BBQ joint in Gatineau.

We had burgers, maybe that's why we were slightly disappointed. There can be too much of a good thing : lots of (good) flavor but once combined, you end up with a (messy) burger that taste weird. I would go back and try the mac mac cheese and pulled pork. Other than that, roof terrace is nice and service is friendly.
