I love this store! My passion and hobby is freshwater planted aquariums and I am always impressed and pleased with the health and selection of aquatic plants. I have never had a plant purchased here die or introduce pests to my tank. The prices are fair, the customer service is friendly and bilingual, and the staff I have asked question of really know their stuff. I would recommend this store to anyone in the aquarium hobby and have sent a number of friends in their direction already for aquarium and furry animal related business. I don’t know much about birds but I am always impressed with how vibrant/healthy and alert they are when I look at them. It’s hard to not take one home!

Quelques jours après son arrivée, elle est tombé malade, une grosse diarrhée très intense... J’ai due l’apporter d’urgence à l’hôpital vétérinaire. 400$ plus tard, elle allait mieux. L’animalerie à eu la gentillesse de me rembourser la moitié des soins vétérinaire, un mois plus tard, elle est retomber malade, elle ne pouvait plus manger, je devais la gaver... elle est redevenu « normal » après quelques jours, après une autre facture de 450$. Elle est retombé malade 1 mois après, de retour au vétérinaire d’urgence, Cannelle est décédé à l’âge de « 5 mois » chez le vétérinaire, le 17 février 2021. On ne saurait expliquer la cause de la mort mais d’après les 3 avis vétérinaires et les 1300$ plus tard, ils sont d’accord pour dire que c’est probablement en lien avec l’animalerie. Des jeunes lapins sevrés trop qui tombent facilement malade. Le dernier vétérinaire de Cannelle n’avais jamais vue ça, il pleurait au téléphone... Je donne 2 étoiles parce que le service est bon et les employés on de bonnes idées, mais mon expérience côté animaux domestiques, n’a été que de la tristesse...

Everyone was super friendly. I think we just had a bad experience. We bought 2 male rats that were quite aggressive. We went to buy 2 more male rats but 1 of them was a female. We didn't realise this and neither did they. After a few days we noticed strange behaviour. And about 2 weeks later she had babies. She was too young and couldn't feed them. We tried our best to keep them alive but we ended up losing the mom and the 2 babies. Our other 3 rats got sick not long after as well so we had them euthanized.

Hello, went three weeks ago and did not enjoy my experience. The person at the cash saw me and did not even greet me. I roamed around and saw multiple employees no one asked me if I ever needed help. Cages for rabbits were very small. Cages for hamster were not proportionate for the number of hamsters. Saw an old man stealing dog toys went to the cash and she didn't even ask me if everything was ok therefore, I just left . However, aquatic section is nice. I have four pet stores in my area and I do not have an issue going a little further for this outstanding service. Best prices around hands down. Employees are very knowledgeable, answering any question you may have. I had a filter valve break on me. I called a few places and I was told left and right I needed to replace the entire system. I called this store and was asked to bring it in for testing. After a few minutes, the store manager had fixed the filter, mentioning that the valve simply needed to be replaced. This simple fix saved me the price of a brand new filtration system which retails over $350.00. A great example of client over profit. I am new to the fish hobby and have been buying my supplies and most of my fish and plants here. Some staff is clearly more knowledgeable and interested in helping than others. The owners are lovely people and clearly care for all their animals and plants and always willing to help. I have only seen one sick and one dead fish in all of my visits, which tells me they pay close attention to their tanks. The store is always clean and so are the tanks. The only thing is some of the younger staff will kinda ignore you unless you go up to them yourself, which depending on your preference can be a good or a bad thing. They are fully bilingual so don't worry about coming from Ottawa, it's definitely worth a visit.

The guy who is the most knowledgeable about the fish there (not sure what his name is), is VERY RUDE. Wanted 3 Cory cats for 15 (or however much they go for) but they only had 2, he would give me any sort of deal on the two at all and seemed so bothered when I asked. He had so much attitude throughout the whole encounter like “I really don’t want to be here helping you”, it almost feels uncomfortable to even ask him for help or continue to ask questions because it’s so obvious he didn’t want to be helping me. When I asked him to get some fish and asked for some specific one (they were large fish), he basically rolled his eyes at me! Everyone else was very friendly such as the cashiers and other workers, but this guy should not be in the customer service industry, not a chance. He makes you feel like leaving, and if I didn’t already have some fish in the bag I would’ve left. For reference, he is a younger man with short dark hair. Steer clear.
