Rude employee and not family friendly restaurant.Went to go to pub with my husband and 2 kids. The lady at door clearly did not want to serve us since we had kids. She immediately said we are full and walked away. No mention of a wait time or anything like majority of other restaurants do. Terrible and would not recommend to anyone.Don't waste your time going to this place.

MUST DO: deep fried pickles (so many), Irish nachos made with kettle chips & the perogies! Staff is friendly and they’ve got good hours considering covid. Gananoque is my new favourite place in Ontario. Everyone is so welcoming and lovely. ASIDE FROM STONEWATER PUB!!!!!!! my girlfriend and I came here for a relaxing weekend. we got massages in the morning. we went to the keg in Kingston for dinner. we each had a glass of wine at dinner and decided to try out this place for a drink. I asked for 2 gin and sodas and the server told me that there were a lot of events that night so she wouldn't serve us. we were stone cold sober. i was very confused. I have never been so embarassed or offended at an establishment like I was tonight. she served other people at the bar. I have never felt so belittled and for the life of me I can not figure out why she wouldn't give me a drink or what events in the town had to do with it. we ended up leaving and a few other patrons who witnessed what happened asked us to wait and left with us after settling up because they were equally as shocked. this is why I love gananoque... for the people, but clearly not for this bar!

nice setting. beds and bedding exquisitely comfortable. breakfast varied.. beautiful fruit plate first. eggs bennie were great. omelet bland and forgettable. home fries thoroughly crisped- nice. wonderful looking out over the water while eating. early drinks in pub made us decide not to revisit it later for music and more drinks... how do you make a black and tan unpalatable? I know who to ask because they certainly did....

This place has really good food. Their fish and chips are awesome. They have a small pub like setting downstairs where kids are welcome the service is good and they have huge burgers. Its in the midrange price point for food but they have some unique dishes. Their muscles are pretty great serves in a half shell in a sauce that is uniquely delicious. I would definitely recommend they also have an upstairs with view of the river and the tan boat lines coming and going.

If you have a discerning palate then go elsewhere. It is hard to go wrong with a Greek salad, but wow, when you use mostly lettuce which is not part of a real Greek salad, and you put Kraft dressing on top, it is pretty dismal. The chair was so uncomfortable I had back and hip pain for the next 2 days. The waitress was very pleasant.

I was disappointed with this restaurant. My spouse and I were visiting from out of town, we got the mussels and they were not very good. They tasted and smelled fishy and the sauce tasted like seawater. The salad was really drenched in oil and balsamic vinegar. The chicken wrap was pretty good, but overall, between the food and the service, it was too expensive. I wouldn't go back. It seems like a tourist trap.

While I don't know that there's really anything "Irish Pub"-ish about this place, it was quaint and cozy, if in a slightly campy way. The Cod-'N-Chips and the Stonewater Burger were both excellent, and the service was quite friendly and reasonably quick. No complaints there. Many good local beers on tap. The entrance to the pub is a little iffy, making one wonder "am I in the right place? Is that really the entrance?". The door is practically right on the road. If you've had a few pints and aren't careful, you could step out the door and get hit by a car if you don't hug the side of the building on your way out.

We ordered takeout, red Thai curry on rice. The chef was worried the sauce would make the rice gooey during our return home, so rice and sauce were packaged separately. I love that attention to detail! Twenty minutes later we were at home, enjoying a restaurant quality meal.

We stayed only one night here at the B&B and then wished we'd had more time! The room was beautiful, clean and fresh, nicely decorated and cool - the owner had set on the A/C so after a hot day of traveling, it was perfect! We ventured out to explore the neighborhood, had dinner and returned for a night cap at the Pub below. Fun place - it was open mic night and there was some great regulars there entertaining. Our night's rest was fantastic and followed up by a wonderful gourmet breakfast the next morning on the sun porch. We were back on the road shortly thereafter, but will remember what a great stay and highly recommend.

This is just like a tiny English pub, right on Gananoque's waterfront. It's tiny, earthy, terrific views of bay, wood meets rock walls, fireplace.... It is a jem! If you go to Gan, you must try this pub. The food is amazing, great homemade soups, and if our grandson's reaction to his burger is any indicator, outstanding. (I thought his eyes would roll back when he took his first bite!) The fish and chips are incredible. The menu is varied, something for everyone. We adore this jewel by the water. Entertainment on weekends. Oh, great beer selection on tap. Don't miss this as one of your daily meals.

We’ve been ordering here online when we want to have date nights at home during COVID. We decided to go for some patio food and it was an awesome experience, staff was friendly and the food was amazing. I had sangria and the wine muscles, my partner had a rum and coke with the whiskey burger and sweet potato fries.

First time here. It was our stop on the way from Montreal to Toronto. Location is good but unless you get a table in the balcony you won't have a view of the lake. Food was ok, nothing special. Not the best fish and chips and nothing special about their burger, but still ok. Service was somewhat poor. I blame it on the busy day they had. Overal it's ok to try once since there aren't that many options better than this place in the area.

This was a very good restaurant. We ordered poutine, perogies, fish tacos and the butter chicken tacos. All the food was amazing. Definitely the best poutine i have ever tried. The tacos were served in puffy small tortillas so that was a little odd, but everything else was perfect.

Nice little pub and friendly staff. We were on the porch and they had tunes playing in the background. I had the fish taco appy - good, crunchy fish and really flavourful aioli. They could have used a little more coleslaw - I added my husband's which he wasn't eating! Def appetizer size so I added a side salad. My husband had the ribs which were tender and had a good BBQ sauce.

I loved this restaurant. The food was good and the staff was kind. I recommend this place compared to Muskie Jakes across the street. The chicken fingers and wings are cooked to perfection and the fries are delicious. I definetely cannot wait to come back!

Food menu is consise and there is something for everyone. Beverage menu is excellent with lots of local choices. I have visited this establishment twice now, while visiting. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is great. Very old building with low ceiling, exposed timber and stonework in a tiny room. Truly a great old world pub experience!

Reasonably good service. Disturbingly poor greek salad. Hamburger was OK, smelling a bit like a sausage. Baguette, instead of bun, was fresh. Fries were burnt and oily, greasy spoon type. Avoid.

Sue and Jeff are great. Hospitable and not pushy. Spent the night in the loft. So nice! Great views. Only thing I thought was different...is the hosts spent the night in the living room. So when we would go out a little later for a walk...we felt like we may have been disturbing them. Would go again for sure!

For a pub located at the corner of Stone and Water streets, what better name could it have than Stonewater? Furthermore, they gave the gave the name to a beer they brew. Unfortunately, it created the only disappointment of the evening when our server reported that the cask was empty. Fortunately, I've had it previously and it's a great craft beer. There are two parts to the pub. First, there is the cozy downstairs with four tables and bar. Second, there is the upstairs veranda with a wonderful view of the surrounding islands, the passing boats, the nearby neighbourhood and the across-the-street Gananoque Inn. Everyone enjoyed their dinners, the service and the reasonable pricing. I had the red curry with mussels, white rice and sliced autumn vegetables. My companions had pickerel, shepherd pie and salad dishes.

This place was great! Things to note are the patio is covered so perfect if it’s raining! The food here was also excellent. The fish and chips were crispy and the soup of the day was delicious. Portions were large and the beer selection was unique! Covid precautions: (No complaints)**I’m not a professional so this is subjective but things I noted were: The good: -Hand sanitizer at the entrance -Patio tables were well spaced -no shared condiments were given (salt,pepper ect...) - staff was wearing a mask -menus were virtual (WiFi and use your own phone) -waitress used gloves to pick up plates from the table then disposed of glove and washed hands. -tables were sanitized between guests with disinfectant

Visited on a slow September Saturday afternoon. Service was fairly slow. Waitress was friendly and accommodating, but the only one on staff (from what I had seen). Ordered their fish and chips, which at the time of this review was $16. It tasted good, albeit they had used a panko battering rather than the usual beer batter. The dish came with one piece of fish. Looking at the menu, the fries could have been ordered for $4. The fish was good, but not $12 good. Aside from the waiting and the one dish that was a little overpriced, seemed like a good place to go for drinks later in the day. But we didn't stick around to find out

Just an amazing food experience. Very good service. Shrimp po boy was a fantastic combination of flavours, highly recommended! Mussels was a bit overcooked but unfortunaly that can happen cooking mussels flavor was perfect in white wine excellent mussel. I had one of the best beers I ever drinked! Stonewater amber lager a most for this fantastic risto pub. We come back for sure. Day after we come back and have dumpling shiitake and was a such amazing entree. I had Alf of ribs and was perfectly slow cooked my wife had the shrimp to boy. Service is awsome we love Susan. Thank you for all of the stuff you made our holidays unforgettable!

Great place to hang out. Go early when there's live music if you want a seat as it's very small, but cozy. Friendly staff and atmosphere .. my favourite stop when I'm in town.

We were there tonight and had Nachos as an app... shared a club and each had the potato soup. The Nachos were a 6 and the rest should have been refunded. 35 min wait for terrible food. The soup looked like it was thrown togethert at last minute with no flavour or substance. All broth with a bit a cheese on top. We have been here 3-5 times over the summer and this is the worst.

A beautiful spot on the patio right on the bay with absolutely delicious food. This was clearly all home made! The server did an incredible job getting our order and food out quickly despite having quite a few tables. Kudos to the kitchen staff for their speed and delivery on flavour. I had the chicken and waffles which was a treat, with shared pickles spears to start. They were both excellent portions and I will say again just how delicious everything was! Given the unprecedented time we are living in, this exceeded my expectations greatly! The beer was local and also very good, boasting the Stonewater name. When I am in Ganaoque again this place will definitely be a stop! Thank you for an outstanding experience.

Very, very slow service. It took 15 minutes before anyone took our order, another 15 minutes for our two pints to arrive, and then 30 more minutes for the food to arrive (I was finished my pint before it did). Nobody ever came to check on us after the food was delivered. It took three separate requests before we received glasses of water after finishing our beers. After we'd finished eating our meals (before the water arrived), our empty plates sat uncollected for a further 10–15 minutes. The "parmesan truffle fries" that were to accompany my duck confit seemed instead to simply be "heavily salted fries," while the fries accompanying the chicken club were soggy. The duck itself was fine (the arugula salad was mixed greens instead) and the chicken club was tasty, but the chicken was cold (perhaps it sat somewhere waiting, too)

Absolutely wonderful! We loved our suite and the surrounding area. Ganonoque is a lovely little city that was the perfect stop over on our way to Mont Tremblant. We stayed in the Webster Suite, which had a bedroom, small kitchette, bathroom, and living room. Our view was the river. Breakfast was included in the morning and the food was made deliciously! We enjoyed talking to the owner, who was very helpful with tips about what to do in the area. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making me not want to get up in the morning. It was firm, yet soft, with a beautiful down comforter. Last year, when we visited, we stayed at the Ganonoque Inn next door. This was SOOO much better! The suite at Stonewater far outsized the room at the hotel. And the b&b owner knows how to add the perfect touches. It's incredible how large this home is, and how it can offer so much privacy. We did some running and biking in the area and a safe riding trail is very close! Ganonoque has something for everyone!

Disappointed with the very rude staff who did not even make an effort to try and accommodate us. When we called to make a reservation, we were told they were not taking reservations but we could get a table if we went immediately, but after looking at us the staff changed her tunes and did not accommodate us and asked us to leave even though we could see the patio was empty - could not help but think if it was a race thing. They refused to take our numbers to call if and when spots were available and plain refused to even look in our direction. We could see other people enter the place and get served - would not recommend the place to anyone - there are much better places around which would serve you and not discriminate based on your group size, color, race or anything at all.

Bill brought the food out to us rather than have us come back inside. He was extremely kind and friendly.

I travel across the country for work and out of all the places I have been. It is one of my top two the other one being over 400km away! Drive from Kingston all the time. The staff has never disappointed! A must stop for a true pub feel with probably the best food in Gananoque!

Took an hour for lunch to arrive - no forewarning from server that this might be the case. No compensation of any kind was offered. If I kept customers waiting an hour for a meal - I'd offer them a complimentary drink or an appetizer or a reduction on the bill. Place was not busy so very hard to understand. Dining room was downright cold. When the food finally arrived it was average at best. Considering the bill - ridiculously expensive for what we received. Won't be back. Lost a couple of customers forever.

Great B&B, the Loft room is really cool, with a great view of the harbour and river. The owners are friendly and interesting to chat with, and serve up an excellent breakfast. And the pub downstairs has great beers and food, and we were lucky there was an entertaining and good singer/guitarist to serenade us! We will stay, eat and drink here again....

We traveled in April 2019 and stayed at the B&B for one night. We booked the Loft, which occupies the third floor and includes a kitchenette and a private bath with Jacuzzi tub. The online pictures don't do the room justice: it is extremely spacious and bright, with stunning views of the water. (Seriously, you don't really have to leave the room if you don't want to.) A delicious breakfast is included and served in the Stonewater Pub. This is a very cozy spot if you're visiting the Thousand Islands region.

Zero star. Was the most humiliating visit I have ever had as a local. Was asked if we were drunk off the boat, said no, then told if I your eyes close again you will be ejected. We we so humiliated we left. This was not the only embarrassing interaction, I had to explain that I had to pee.
