The best perch & walleye dinner around. Prices are good. If you're looking for elegant surroundings this isn't the place. It's a basic decor with a view of the Welland Ship Canal. It has good food at good prices and quick service.

Hats off to small businesses and restaurants who are trying their best during covid pandemic times. It's so hard for them. But I feel that sometimes, they don't make it "easier", when they could. I visited minor brothers for a lunchtime fish and chips on a Thursday. There were a few people hanging around. There was signage that only mentioned masks were required and ease keep 6 feet distance. No signs explained the ordering process, which was: go inside (no more than three people, including if you were a couple), order, go out and wait then pick up your order. No menu or prices listed outside either. So people were queueing up outside, not knowing where to order, wanting to go inside to see the only menu (on the wall, inside) then asked to leave because too many people inside, husbands and wives together had to separate (because too many people)....it would have been so easy to fix all of this with a large sign stating "order inside, pick up outside" and putting a simplified menu or two outside. Ordering process aside, the food came quickly. Fries were so-so but fish was fantastic. Prepared with much skill. Ordered a perch and a pickerel...a snack size at about $7.

Fresh Lake Erie perch and pickerel - caught that morning. It's well filleted - never a bone! I usually pick mine up fresh to cook at home or deliver to the many out-of-town lovers of yellow perch. Minor's does cook fish perfectly - eat-in or take-away. And you can't beat the price. Love it!!!

We were passing through and craving fish and chips so we Googled where to go and this place came up as a great option. As we stood outside waiting to go in to order, a couple of senior citizens were out there too and said this is the best fish in town....so we had high expectations. As you can see by the price list it's EXCELLENT value! The fish was great, truly, but the French fries tasted very old and not fresh at all and the coleslaw likewise tasted old and wilted. The one complaint I would have is the lack of masks INSIDE by the staff....otherwise, I would definitely recommend Minor for great fish at a great price.

Truthfully the food and the price was excellent! I cant give it a 5 for this reason. I called asked them about specials as I was a newbie. Was told $10.50 Saturday special. Got 2 of those. Went in and paid to find out they have a fall special for 6.99 which was actually more food for cheaper. When i questioned it she agreed with me but didn't offer any money back as I had already paid. Got to the car they forgot both buns that are supposed to be included. Great pricing and food but its the principal of it!

Had the 2pc fish & chips (half pickerel and half perch) and an order of jumbo shrimp. The fish was super fresh and overall well made but could use a little more seasoning. Fries need a lot of improvement. Shrimp was good. Food is made to order and piping hot. Service was great and portions of fish are very generous and good value. Always a lineup so be prepared to wait a bit.

Finally we went to get our fish and chips dinners. We never had ordered from this place but whenever we were visiting this part of town we noticed that this place was always busy. We expected something exceptional and were looking forward to picking our meal. Unfortunately I must say that I was not impressed, for sure had better fish and chips in my past...Fish was not seasoned, fries were soggy and greasy, and calamari .....nothing special. I don’t think I will be back again,just a bit disappointing

This place is amazing. We got the basic fish and chips for $7 and it was delicious. Just the right amount. They had run out of pickerel, but we were happy with perch. The light batter is perfect and the fries were great. There was a line-up at 12pm when we got there so we went for a walk and circled back at 1.30pm and there were only 2 people ahead of us at that point. You go in (only 3 people allowed) and order and get a number and then wait outside until they shout your number through the window. We waited only 5-10 mins and then ate our food on a bench overlooking the canal. You get a choice of either tartar sauce or seafood sauce (you know, tomato + horseradish) along with ketchup, malt vinegar, etc. This place is no nonsense and delicious and a deal. What more could you ask for?

I just tried to get my fish for good friday and pay through the window like I do every single week because I'm unable to wear a mask. (Which is allowed by the way) and I was refused service because they wouldnt allow me not to come inside to pay. I'm a human being with different requirements and I was turned away. So disgraceful I will never return. They just lost a weekly customer for life.

Excellent location for the freshest local Perch and Pickerel. Either buy the fillets raw and cook them up yourself at home, or you can order from their restaurant. Super tasty fish and chips, or fish on a bun. All the fries are hand pressed fresh and cooked just right. You can't go wrong getting your fish fix here. Check their hours of operation to avoid any disappointment. I love their perch on a bun, it's my favorite.

We have tried this place a few times. The fish is very good. You do get enough for your money. The problem is with the fries. The last 2 times the fries were not just cold, but dried out. It was like they had been sitting for a while. I also didn't like that the girl that waits on you does not have a mask, but does tell people to wait outside when more than 3 are in the store. I will give them another try, but not on a Friday.

I've been to many fish and chip places, but none of them beat Minors. They catch their fish in Lake Erie weekly. They have a great selection on their menu and all the staff is very friendly and polite. I usually get the perch and pickerel dinner and am never disappointed, it's always very fresh and the tastiest fish and chips you can get around! Would recommend to anyone who likes fish and chips.

We have been coming here for years. when we started, you could line up, order, pay and leave. Now thee is more room for customers. the fish is wonderful. Fresh Lake Erie perch with fries is very reasonable and yummy. when my childen were young I brought them here. Now I bring my grandchildren! It's still great. The price is very reasonable. Only thing I would suggest is having a big squeeze ketchup at the takeout so you can squeeze without ripping out the little packages. See you at MINORS.

It is a restaurant with eat in or take out. You can also buy fresh fish to cook at home. I always buy the walleye and perch fillets and have a fish fry. Cannot get any fresher than this. Order take out, and sit along the water edge and enjoy.

I realized why they don't answer the phone to take your order "they have a line up outside waiting to place their order". The price might be a little high however no one has a reason to complain the dish is fantastic deleicous and you do get plenty of fish no matter what dish you order. While waiting l enjoyed watching a boat passing through the canal. You must try it. ????????

We spent the afternoon at Port Promenade. After a long walk, we stopped at Minor Fisheries for a snack. We ordered the fish and chips, both perch and pickerel, and a side of gravy. The portion was quite large and the fish was great. Total was less than $20! Great deal! I do think that the fried fish was under seasoned.

They are the best place for take out fried pickerel and perch in the entire Niagara region by far. Awesome onion rings and fries also. On Friday call first to pick up as they can get busy. The fish here always fresh and cooked to perfection. When patios are open you can also order beer.

We visit Port Colborne often and figured out quickly that Minor Fisheries is the best place around to get fresh Lake Erie Perch. The large Perch platter dinner and fries is our personal favorite. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices can't be beat. For dessert, check out their ice cream. Prices are best in town.

Lots of benches along canal across the street. Great place to enjoy fresh fish perfectly cooked, while watching the ships and the lift bridge.
