Food was alright. Got chicken strips and was given minimal sauce and when I asked for more the waitress seemed quite inconvenienced and for the rest of the time I was there was actually quite short with me and rude. Really not the kind of person I want serving me and my daughter or any family member tbh.... I was not the only one who thought this either. generally I tip people in the service industry, but I don't feel this Girl deserved one.

We stopped by for lunch after a VERY long walk around the area, by that time we were more than hungry! The place itself could definitely use some "sprucing up" nothing fancy here. The floor could also use a good scrub. But the important part, the food, WAS good!???? Battered halibut was EXCELLENT, crispy golden batter, good sized pieces, cooked perfectly. I also really liked the coleslaw but just a bit too sweet. Chips were not good. Needed salt and they were rather dry and bland. These definitely fell short. Next time, I would order fish and coleslaw only and skip the fries.???? Prices were ok, portions good, service was ok. Noted that take out prices are quite a bit lower than eating there, based on the take out menu. Something to keep in mind if you have a larger order. Will visit again. Also plan to check out the Langford location.????

Fish was ok, customer service wasn't great. Slow and no attention, had an empty glass for almost 10 minutes before I stopped them to ask for a refill. Fries were really crunchy, over cooked. All in all, wasn't horrible

They seem to turn away customers if you wish to make an order even half an hour before their posted closing hours. They explain that it would keep them there past their closing hours. I tried contacting the management to see if they knew about this, but they wouldn't acknowledge me either. It's a shame really as the food is ok.

So. Much. Food. Ordered the traditional British platter, one piece. It comes with a DOZEN shrimp that were so tasty on their own! The fish was great, well cooked and came with fries that suited the vinegar and salt oh so well... They serve Pepsi products so if you're a Coke drinker you're out of luck. Burp.

Sub par. Fries were undercooked and tasted off. Fish was good, no complaints there. However waiting 25 minutes for a to go order, that I could see was ready to go after 15 was a big issue. Further, the lack of price board and by item style of pricing left me shocked when I was charged $17 for 2 pieces of cod, chips and slaw. That's the same as I would pay for a sit in higher quality restaurant. Won't return, way more places available than this one. Not sure what happened, but it's a shame.

Not what I expected!!! got half my order and no tarter sauce (even when I asked for a couple extra). I heard good things about this place, maybe it was an off day in the kitchen or the kids working, but the fish was dry and tough (ordered 3 peices got one) and a large fry which I found real good and the gravy was pretty good too. If there is a next time, I'm defiantly checking my order over.

TOP NOTCH!!!!I have had great fish and chips from the most reputable restaurants in the city and had my reservations when trying Saltys because I depended on my old trusty spot. No More!!!!! They are so consistent and the least amount of grease as well as perfectly cooked chips. The few reviews here saying otherwise are misinformed and misaligned. From an old Scotsman.

Loved the experience. First time there and I have to say the staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered Halibut and chips and I have to say, out of every place I've ever gone to for F&C, this place here has to be the best and nicest F&C I have had yet. The Halibut was so good but it was the batter that did it for me. The best batter yet! So Yummy and we will be back again as well as recommend this place to everyone we know. I highly recommend you guys.

I come here on a fairly regular basis. The service is always friendly and prompt, and the food is good! I stick to halibut so can only review that, but it's always perfectly cooked, the batter isn't too thick or thin and jut the right amount of crunchy. Fries are on the softer side which is great for me, but I know some people like really crispy fries. Crispy fries are once of my biggest pet peeves, so it's nice to find a place that always has softer fries. Definitely one of the best fish and chip shops in town. Overall very nice little restaurant. I'll be going there for my dinner tonight, actually. Writing this review has me craving fish and chips.

If you're looking for or craving that old fashioned style fish and chips complete with being wrapped in paper then look no further than Salty's. I believe there usual is cod but they have halibut if you're looking for the best experience in my opinion. They have pick up, if you call ahead it can be ready in as little as 15 mins so what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and enjoy :)

We had the pleasure of coming by on a Friday night and sampling the halibut and chips, and it was fabulous! Both of us have been around the block when it comes to fish and chips, and have had everything from greasy pieces of leather caked in pumice to soft, steaming morsels of delectable flakery, and Salty's at Craigflower was high on the 'Best' list. The manager was very helpful and friendly, and when we opted to replace the coleslaw with something else, he actually gave us more than we had requested. He was very keen on making our dinner a great experience, and the waitress was funny and very sweet. The food? Well, we drove home, opened our "Christmas" packages and inside...The steaming halibut pieces were still hot and delicious. The fries could have been seasoned just a tad to make the flavor closer to perfect, but the fish made up for that. Do yourself a favour - try the halibut and their home made tartar sauce and just savor the taste.

Excellent as always. I had the cod and fries. The cod was really good. The coleslaw seemed a bit dry this time but I ate it all just as well . I would have to say the fries were the best I have had in a long time. Probably since I have eaten there. I live in Alberta but use to live in Victoria and as a kid I remember eating there with my family many times. My family still eats there on a regular basis and are well known customers. Even gets the seal of approval from my folks when they visit from England. Salty's at Craigflower ranks up there with fish and chips in their native NE, and that is high praise, believe me. It used to be a much better place to get fish' n chips. Fish portions are getting smaller and greasier, fries are mushy. No cutlery comes with your take out, no coleslaw, no tartar no ketchup, no vinegar. Just a poorly made dish for 18$.

Went to that Saltys on Craigflower thinking it would be like the other one, it was very bad and double the price literally. My chicken burger was two tiny sliders like an appy, and hardly any fries, which tasted literally like cardboard. Thinking they could have been used from another persons plate - both unusual for a fish n chip restaurant. As for the fish, the batter was the worst I've ever had - all wet. Going back to the other place for half the price, bigger portions & better.

I wanted fish and chips...but not soggy chips that looked like they were 5 days old, and the fish was pretty greasy...of course I didn't get any cutlery with my order, along with napkins...oh and I was asked if I wanted vinegar, ketchup etc... and then on top of that they didn't get my order right...had to go back and get my drink. Yep I think Restaurant rescue might help...it wasn't that busy either...be thankful I gave them a 2 outta 5. I would love to see their refrigerator...
