This shop may be alright for fish and reptile lovers but it is hardly ideal for those of us who live with and love, dogs and cats. Store is dark and dinghy looking, upon entering and VERY warm. Hardly ideal for storing dry pet food. This is an environment conducive to rancidity if those types of food remained on the shelves for extended periods. The prices we noted were also much higher on some items, compared to other places we've shopped, locally and online. Staff did not come to inquire if we needed any help finding things, another strike against returning. Will stay with other options in the future, this place is not worth a second visit or chance. I also didn't appreciate some of the comments left by the owner here for previous negative reviews. Not very tactful or open to customer criticism. Sometimes, it can and should be a learning experience!

The best pet store in victoira, friendly staff the fish variety for both Fresh and salt water fish is insane. Staff had helpful advice to a problem I was having with my tank. Also a lot of stuff for my girlfriend to get for her three rats. Neat place kind of crowded with the narrow walk ways. Definitely going to become the normal pet store to get stuff. Prices are reasonable.

I have already written another review for creatures but i honestly can not stress how AMAZING THEY ARE!!!! Their staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable on all types of creatures, furry and scaly alike. The owners are the sweetest and work so hard to make it such a pleasant place. They really do make a huge effort to provide top notch care to all of the animals they keep. If you are a regular they will learn your name, your pets, and what you often come in for! Heck they will even remember your last name for your account!! I see these guys as a second family and creatures is my favorite place in the world to spend my free time! I rave about them and how great they are to anyone and everyone that will listen! I live in Langford and make a point to drive all the way down town rain or shine 1 to 3 times a week and i refuse to go anywhere else. Highly recommend them. First of all, I want to be clear (though it should be obvious) I have zero affiliation with this pet store, however I've had good experiences there as an above average but far from expert aquarium hobbies. I can't comment on any other area of the store other than aquatics but I will give 2 quick examples: I upgraded to 180 gal tank and while I used google I wanted a little more direct information on picking out a substraight (gravel / sand etc) based on my current fish and pumps. The guy on the phone spent 20 minutes with me, I was Very pleased, he didn't have to do that. The second, I went in to purchase some feeder fish and another caught my eye, the sales person stopped what they were doing and gave their insight into the fish and its care. (A Stingray) Those two examples and the owners willingness to get on here (not hide) and either take responsibility, offer clarity and except criticism and suggestions of what he could do better, is what prompted me to post. As a small business owner myself I can appreciate that and if nothing else it shows he cares.

This store used to be run by people who were extremely negligent with the animals. Seven years ago however, Tyler and Christine bought it and the store has been amazing ever since. Yes, they can be very busy or short staffed occasionally, but you cannot beat the personal sense of caring not found in larger chain stores. If you are interested in a specific fish, they will even order it for you! Discount card available for feeder fish and crickets, etc. Cannot recommend them enough!

Bad vibes from the moment I walked in. One of the most awful places for customer service I've ever experienced. The girl working the till was EXTREMELY abrasive and rude (yelling while people stared). To be honest it was quite shocking. There are many many other pet stores in town, there is no need to give this store any business. Edit: just reading (and laughing) through some of the owners responses to low ratings, and it really encapsulates their poor customer service. Nothing except excuses, and snide remarks. Bravo!

This is a great pet store. The staff have always been helpful to me and even though this store can get very busy, I have always been helped and had my questions or concerns answered. I have cats and fish and can always find what I need for both. The owner of this store is a great guy and went above and beyond when I needed a part for my aquarium filter. When he couldn't get the part in he found me a website that I was able to purchase the part from even though it meant taking my business elsewhere. Lately they have been getting a nice selection of live plants in for aquariums and the last time I was there they had some beautiful guppies.

Love the variety! And i'll be back. But the fellow stocking the fish today sure could have used a hand, he was super stressed out loading the 4000 bags of fish and as such seemed too stressed to answer questions about future stock and said on the radio "please make sure people coming into the back know what they want, I dont have time to answer questions, too many numbers to keep track of in my head." I came in not only for fish, but for expertise. I hope I dont get too sassy of a response like some of the 1 star folks, just giving my feelings so that you know that my experience was less than awesome this time around. I know its hard to always be on the ball, I understand <3 Why not just have someone else in there helping to tend to customers? Kind of makes me uneasy knowing I could drive to your store and the aquatics could be closed; do I have to call to check for consistency? For instance, I told a friend about your selection, she lives in ladysmith; can you imagine her driving down to find the section she is there for is closed? That's not really something someone would expect, right? Customers love consistency.

Customer service is at a premium in aquatics. Every encounter I've had with Billy (my last one being my 4th visit - did I say last visit) confirmed that he should focus on his mail order business where he doesn't need to inflate his ego by exaggerating his 'expertise' with cichlids by putting down home hobbyists who ask for advice. Unfortunately, I will never deal with a store that feels that customer service is a low priority. If they feel they need to keep Billy for his expertise and mail order business, I suggest he do his work when he doesn't have to be inconvenienced by customers who derive joy from a simple and enjoyable hobby.

Honestly, these guys are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate pet store staff out there. They genuinely care about their customers and the animals in their care, even refusing to sell animals that they don’t think will be well taken care of. People seem to complain about the water on the floor or the smell, but when you have such a comprehensive store like Creatures that’s to be expected. Staff are busy tending to livestock, receiving shipments, answering calls, answering questions, ringing people through - there is not a whole lot of time to make sure the store looks “perfect”. And that isn’t even what matters. The fact that they have well taken care of animals with passionate staff is what matters. Love coming here and supporting local. Their freshwater aquatics are the best in town, by far.

I don't know how to put into words the incredible experience I had purchasing my new lizard through Ty at his store. From the beginning his staff on the phone were friendly and helpful. Once I started speaking with Ty, I found him to be kind, knowledgeable and very efficient. Communication with him was a breeze and I was confident I had all the important information and resources I needed as a first time lizard owner. He kept me updated on the lizard through emails and photos and went above and beyond to accommodate shipping him to me in Vancouver. The lizard was packaged with great consideration and care which helped to ease the stress during his transport. The lizard is gorgeous and I am so thrilled that I have him now and that was all made possible because of Ty and his wonderful team. I've been using this pet store the last few years. Great fish, great service.. It's a shame a few morons gave it low reviews due to not having a public bathroom. When people use reviews to judge a pet store they're looking for relevant information regarding the pets. Frankly, I don't know how someone so daft figured out how to leave a comment! Anyway, I'm coming in to buy some plants and water testing stuff.

Some of the staff is extremely nice however, one younger looking girl in the fish section was subtly rude and condescending towards us after we were talking about our aquarium. She was giving us false information about smaller fish. She also seemed to have little to no experience with the fish we kept. We have over 4 years of experience in this hobby and know what kind of fish can live in our tank and don’t need to have someone else tell us what they do and don’t like about our aquarium, especially if you are working at a pet store and don’t have hand on experience with the same fish. However, the bettas are kept in better condition than most pet stores. That being said the information given when purchasing bettas there was entirely false, especially when regarding their feeding. It’s really hard to find anywhere that has good information on bettas or even keeps them in a decent environment. This store is really good for any decorations or equipment however, everything is covered in a layer dust around the reptiles. The overall cleanliness could be much better. It doesn’t cost anything additional to the owners to clean their store regularly. Please keep in mind I am only reviewing my experience with the fish section of this store. I’ve heard wonderful things from friends about the reptile section and their experience with purchasing reptiles through Ty. Keep it up!

My 4 yr old daughter and I were in to buy various items for our tank and 1/2 way through she decided she had to pee!! I asked a staff member if she could use the washroom...the woman said yes and then muttered something that she had to ask... she came back and said she could not allow my by then jumping up and down girl to use the washroom. I had planned on purchasing at least $100 worth of supplies but after we went to Wendy's to use washroom we drove up Hillside to Blue World Aquariums and spent our money there. Guess what...they let their customers use the washroom. Won't be back!!

UV bulb purchased blew within 3 weeks. Due to short hours never had an opportunity to go in and have price corrected or bulb replaced.

I haven't actually been to the shop, but I owe you a kudos based on the service I received by phone! I was looking for a hamster friend for my wee one and called you to check in on stock. The staff member was friendly and helpful and my husband and I were going to head straight there to meet some fuzzy creatures, when we realized we would get there just in time for closing. .. Not wanting to rush, we changed our mind and headed somewhere open later... When I got home, I realized I had a voice mail from your shop! I had received a call letting me know that your stafg had pulled aside some cuties that would be great for me, and although they were closing soon, they would be happy to make an exception for me and let me in... I got the message too late to take you up on it, but I wanted to send you a shout out and let you know that you totally rock for offering, and I was really impressed to receive that voice mail, and thought the world should know. :)

Ty and Hailey are the knowledgeable staff for questions specific to turtles. They were willing to do a trade-in of a smaller tank and landing ramp (inherited with the turtle I bought from a coworker who originally bought the pet and supplies here) to buy a tank upgrade with landing rocks. Their selection of supplies are decent and very honest in their work. If an exchange is needed, the staff are very accommodating in correcting purchases that ultimately benefit the pet in question. Over time we are upgrading contents in the tanks; we still go to various pet stores in the city (for other pet needs) but locally for turtles, this is my family's main place.

My 3 year old and I love this place. We love to look at the variety of creatures during our visits. Some are boarding and some are waiting to be adopted. We get all our aquarium, bunny and kitty goodies here. Beginner aquarium guy here, I met Billy while looking to fill my new tank with fish (literally) after a short chat with him I realized this was fish murder and I had no clue what I was doing (I learnt this myself Billy was professional and polite) He was very educated in fish and aquariums and made it VERY clear that his goal was for my tank to survive and thrive, he then guided me with what fish to buy, how many and why, not only was it way less then I was willing to buy but I can see he genuinely cares for the fish at this store, unlike some other big chain pet stores, these fish are very healthy and I have faith they have been very well taken care of before arriving to their new homes! This was amazing, long story short I will not go anywhere besides creatures for my fish needs. Thank you Creatures and Billy!!

Love this pet store!! I get all my feeder bugs from here and recently adopted two wonderfully sweet and playful rats. The staff is amazing, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Their rat breeder Halo, really cares about how her rats turn out, knows her stuff and that her customers are happy. I highly recommend seeing her if you are thinking about adopting them. Pet stores can be a not so great place to buy pets but this one is a gem. I definitely recommend and will be continuing to do business there in the future.

Creatures is my preferred pet shop for all my aquarium needs. Billy always gives me good advice on fish-care, and the rest of the staff have always helped me find the supplies I need. I have been to the store twice in the last few months and admire the way that the staff has adapted the store to the new Covid-19 restrictions. It's hard to spend all day telling people the new rules, but I know that the staff care about their customers safety as much they care about all the amazing creatures. :-)

The service and compassion you get from shopping at Creatures is priceless. They by far treat their animals with the best most loveable care. When they can be hand socialized they are. The pets there are treated like the staffs very own with nothing but the best and often luxurious conditions. Ty and Christina are incredible owners, listners, and ensure the staff they hire meet these expectations. This is an incredible place to shop. I bought an aquarium package in August this year at Creatures and left very satisfied. Unfortunately after 4 months the tank cracked. When I returned in person to find out the warranty issue after explaining the problem the owners first response was " Oh no, are your fish okay " that told me a lot about his business attitude. After answering a few questions re the event, I was assured that the tank would be replaced. Can't believe this level of service exists these days. I regularly shop there and can't imagine going anywhere else. Thanks Creatures.

So expensive for aquarium plants and fish. I paid $14.99 for 2 tiny plants about 3 inches tall. (That were covered in algae and also carried 5 snails) Also another plant that was Hornwort and was picked from the top of one of the aquariums and "Wasn't for sale" but stilI cost me $15.99. I'm all for supporting local businesses but when it's that expensive and low quality, I can't afford to.

went in there for a quick look around, as i wanted to see how the place was before I considered buying anything. I was stunned to see that all the animals were in great condition, and even in the goldfish/feeder fish tanks, not 1 dead fish was floating(unlike bigger chain companies) The reptiles all looked great, and i especially fell for a lovely gecko that was there~ Their saltwater tanks are all kept clean, and i was very happy to see healthy fish of all varieties. I didn't get to check out the entire store before i had to go, but i was very pleased with the fact that the animals are all cared for, and the staff were very friendly when asked about stuff! I'll definitely change from Petsmart to here for my bigger purchases, and any live purchases! PS, your Betta are lovely! they're far better with health and clean water than the petsmart i go too, and i was excited to see that they were being cared for well.

Although this store is generally well stocked and most of the staff have good intentions and mood there is one issue with the staff. It seems that the manager (maybe owner?) has some kind of anger issue. To be honest it's a deal breaker to see a full grown woman have a temper tantrum at young folks after they were given incorrect information by your employees. Your employees are young also and your rules are constantly changing so I think it would have been fine with a 'oh no problem please do this' but the condescending rude tone and behaviour you used made me and a few other customers so shocked we discussed it outside the store

I was just in on Thursday and was ordering a ferret and was told I might have to wait for up to 8 months to receive one which seems really bizzare to me, mainly because I have never heard of that ever happening before. I was told that they are ordered from Marshall Ferrets and they usually have good shipping time, so I have no idea what is going on and could not find anything anywhere about the information the staff where telling me. I also wanted a specific type of ferret, an albino female, and the lady I was talking to spent the whole time constantly trying to talk me out of even though I already explained to her that I know all about the complications of albinos and am prepared for any complications that may arise due to fact that my me and my fiance have already owned ferrets and one was an albino who never had the medical issues. The main thing that annoyed me about the customer service wasn't just the constant lecturing about the medical concerns but the fact that she said that it's a cruel and inhumane thing to breed alibnos and that people almost never order them or want them. I happen to know lots of people who have and love their albino ferrets and only a few have had medical complications but not until way later in their lives. I also placed my order and payment but no where on my receipt does it say that it is an order slip and that I haven't received my ferret, so I could end up not even receiving my ferret and they could hold onto my money! UPDATE: Just called and got a hold of the owner of the store who sorted everything out for me, so very pleased about that. Turns out the girl I dealt with had all her information messed up, but she still had a bad attitude and wouldn't want to deal with her again personally. So now instead of having to wait up to 8 months it should only be 2 at the max which sounds more reasonable. The owner even mentioned that he would have a talk with his staff and re-eductate them about their sale of ferrets and how to properly do the pre-order receipts. UPDATE AGAIN: I got my baby ferret after only 4 weeks of waiting! :D I'm so happy with my little girl and the service that I'm already ordering another baby. I hope it will only take one month to get her. <3

We just adopted a cute puppy from Mexico 2 days ago, the rescue let us know that some of the other puppies are facing some bad virus, so our puppy may have been exposed. We did a whole bunch of research, decided to go with a herbal product that’s very rare and difficult to find in Canada. Usually they ship from states and takes 6-10 days. We don’t now want to wait that long. HOWEVER, Thank Creatures Pet Store! I reached out to them this morning and Jenna is super friendly, and make the arrangement of shipping ASAP, we will get it by tmr. Serena in particular has helped us so much and has been personable and informative every time we have needed advice. I've been coming here for four years for all my aquarium needs and have yet to have a bad experience. The senior staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful, and if they don't know something off the top of their head they will often look it up for you on the spot. Billy in aquatics will give it to you straight on what's the best product with no attempts at up selling you to something more expensive than what you actually need. They have the best selection of fish in town, and if they don't have what you want will try their best to bring it in for you, saving you the risk of ordering online. Only once have I had to use their 14 health guarantee for recently purchased fish and the experience was very positive with the staff discussing with me what may have caused the death in order to prevent similar loses in the future. The staff really care about the fish they sell and try to ensure that they are going to adequate homes and not just getting dumped in some bowl which is more than most pet stores can say.

Staff is absolutely amazing, but the dog treats in bulk are ify. I had TONS of these little red Beatles in all of the turkey necks I bought for my little chihuahua on his birthday December 04th that ended up in my carpet and probably dogs stomach. No idea what they are, but I threw everything out. Didn't go back because they are so cheap. But I regret not going back as I think you guys should know about it. ????‍♀️ I was given treats to go for my dog and completely forgot about them in the cupboard, a couple months later the treats have holes allll over them with the same little beetles crawling all inside the bag. There was about 6 treats the size of nickels and about 15+ Beatles.. Not sure if this is normal but it didn't look right Might need to check your inventory!! I'm afraid to say, I don't think I'll be there again.

I read reviews and decided to go to this place. My experience for my first visit was very opposite. Yes, I understand it’s Covid and there are policies in place. The front girl asked me what department I needed. I said reptiles. What specifically do you need. I said I want to look at the bearded dragons. She said if your buying one then ok. If not, you can’t just browse because of the pandemic. I told her this was my first time looking so I wasn’t just going to but at first glance today. Then no you can’t. I asked her to tell me what to do then? So I could take a look. She said I don’t know. I said, no, really. What do I need to do to be able to take a look. She said I don’t know. Call the store I guess. In no way do I even feel welcome in that store anymore. I might have been in there 2 minutes tops. But I don’t even think that long.

I was very willing to buy anything for a tortoise or even a turtle. A lady was giving loads of attitude and declined a home for one of them since we seemed “uneducated” or “did not do research”. I did not know we needed to make our own enclosures and grow our own produce for one of there pets. I went to this pet store Jan 6 2020 to take a look at the reptiles. I love these animals and want to see them in pet stores cause that's the only way for people to see them and maybe love them because of it. But what I saw was sickening they blatantly disregard basic treatment. There tanks were worse then I've ever seen. I know how much mess these animals make on a weekly basis and It looked as though there tanks haven't even been opened in a month let alone cleaned. I work at a pet store in kamloops bc and its stores like this that give people the wrong impression about pets in stores. I hope they do batter in the future for the animals sakes but honestly feel that the owners dont deserve these animals. I will also add that once again I'm from a completely different part of the province and am in no way competitive with this company I am merely sickened to my core by there treatment of all the animals.

There wasn’t any service/help. I understand everyone has their days, including staff, but I walked around browsing for prob 45 min and never came across a single person. This doesn’t necessarily bug me but it didn’t really help the experience. Also idk why or how but it’s SO HOT, humid, and stinky in there. I also felt bad for the aquatic animals because they’re being kept in small and crowded spaces with conflicting species. I suppose I’m glad I didn’t run into the aquatics man. The store stinks to high heaven!!! The smell of mold is overwhelming and I have no idea how employees can even work there without getting sick. You can see the mold even growing in the glass windows looking into the store. Id hate to think about how the animals are being cared for when the store is clearly a health HAZARD. I will never be going back into that store for fear of my health and it should be shut down for a good cleaning before allowing further public into the space.

I've been going here for many years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. They sell quality stuff, however I find the prices on some things way over priced and other prices very fair. So, just gotta watch for that but making everything a price similar to other stores would gain you more sales. Overall, they are a great store with a good selection for all types of pets.

I had African cichlids many years ago but I didnt know what I was doing and they didnt last long. But I always wanted a showpiece aquarium one day. Well, that day came when I was given a 100 gallon tank. And I got the most beautiful fish from Creatures. So many colours and a wide variety. Absolutely amazing service, very knowledgeable staff, and great prices. I was buying a terrarium and isopods - their selection was budget friendly, and in addition to the isopods they gave me a pamphlet guide to setting up my bioactive terrarium, and the business card for their bioactive expert on staff! It's obvious that they care a lot about animals. Can't wait until later this year when I get a cat and can come to Creatures for more pet needs :)

Fantastic customer service, well packaged and healthy fish. I have never bought anything alive, let alone wild caught online before so naturally I was nervous and heard this is the place to go, pulled the trigger on some wild caught blue severums and rocktiel. Package arrived the next day and no losses, just healthy quality fish. Naturally the wild caught didnt handle the shipping stress as well as the rocktiel but thanks to their careful packaging they bounced right back. Will definitely be ordering again in the future, if you're nervous about purchasing online or it's your first time just do it! they will communicate with you every step of the way and go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy.

Great selection of healthy looking fish, however they're service is absolutely terrible I spent 35 minutes after walking in knowing what I wanted. Asked for help when the employee was free he helped 2 people that were there before me then went on to help 4 more groups more or less as they immediately came to the fish area and I reminded the employee that I was waiting and then watched him go to yet another new arrival. During this time not one of the other employees acknowledged me. It's a shame I now won't be buying any of they're beautiful fish

This is my go to fish store, and I love it. Good selection of fish and very knowledgable staff. I hope that my experience today was something that will not happen to any other future customers as it put me off. The level of customer service at the counter was less than desirable. We patiently waited to buy our fish while the cashier spoke with a customer, but it became clear that we were not being acknowledged. The cashier was reminded by another staff member that we were in line and ready to make our purchase. All was fine. We brought our fish to the counter and right away it was clear that this young lady did not have a great attitude. We were spoken to in an unpleasant tone with no attempt at even the slightest bit of customer service. As someone who loves this store, I was really disappointed.

Came in on Sunday to get a few fish for my new 36 gallon aquarium. Stood in the fish area for ten minutes, finally saw staff member, asked for help, he said he had to get the phone...when he returned he went back to cleaning a tank, he was completely uninterested in helping me out, so we went to Pet Smart and bought out pets there. Too bad, I wanted to support this small local store.

I cannot say enough about the care and education we've received from the staff at Creatures since getting our first leopard gecko. In fact, it started before we even invested in a family gecko. Serena has gone above and beyond in supporting our family in learning how to care for our gecko. The first time we met Serena, she gave us her personal email address so she could answer questions that my 12 year old had about buying her first gecko. Since getting our gecko as a baby, we have called the store weekly to ask questions and clarify instructions on everything from feeding, shedding and habitat. The reptile department, guided by Serena, has always been super helpful. They spend as much time as we need to ensure the gecko is getting the best care. Today we called out of concern that the gecko hadn't eaten well for the last week and my 12 year old was feeling anxious about the gecko's health. Serena offered to come to our house, following safe Covid practices, to check out the gecko and give us some tips. Serena came to our house to ensure the gecko was healthy and to give us tips on feeding and make sure my daughter felt confident in caring for her new pet. Creatures is a pet store like no other. They truly care for the pets they sell, and the customers they support. I wish I could give them ten stars.

Went in to buy some freshwater shrimp. Had a few questions about shrimp compatibility with other fish so we asked the male employee there. When we kindly approached him, he was clearly annoyed. He proceeded to rudely answer our questions condescendingly. Isn't it your job to help customers with any questions regarding fish? How stressful can your job be, you work with fish all day! Learn some manners and patience please. And judging by the other reviews, this place clearly needs to rethink it's staffing choices. Covid protocol is over the top too. Store was empty and they were still debating whether to let us in or not. One positive thing I can say is that the fish tanks are very well maintained and clean - thank you for at least treating your fish with respect. Now try treating your customers with respect too.

It wad hard to see him for most of the time, and I had nobody that could answer my questions or catch some fish for me. It looked like that he was super busy all the time, but I guess he was kind of hiding or playing cell phone. It would be hard for the owner to get any business. I've never left a review before but my experience was so poor here that I felt I had to give a warning for other potential customers. You want to spend your hard earned money at a decent place, right? As soon as I walked in I was "greeted" rudely by an employee who demanded to know what department I need. No hello, welcome, how ya doin' or nothin'. I think we also need to address the smells going on in this place. Horrifying horrifying. This is not a normal humid smell. The air is very thick and dank. How bout leavin a door open for some airflow. The setup of the store is also very confusing. It felt like I was walking into an episode of hoarders. Stuff was piled up everywhere with very little organization. I asked for assistance from the girl working there and was met with one of the worst attitudes I've ever experienced. I didn't expect the condescending tone that I received but now that I think about it, it really matched the decor. I browsed a few items and left due to the poor experience and went to another petstore in town and to my surprise some of the same items were half the price at the competitor. I wont be rude and mention the competitors name buuut it rhymes with "WetDart".

I had bought a puppy from here a couple years ago that was too adorable to not buy. We were given false information on her breed which was supposed to be chihuahua mix but turned out to be nothing like a chihuahua and more like a maltese mix? She has a lot of breathing/walking problems and other medical issues on top of that. I had talked to others that have bought dogs from here and two of them had to put there dogs down due to them being way to expensive in medical bills and others that had agreed with the lack of knowledge of the breed and medical issues they have run into. Please do not buy puppys from this place! they are cute and yes I still love my dog but these poor animals come from puppy mills and you are contributing to abuse of other dogs by buying them, If I had known this ahead of time I would of never bought a dog from a pet store. save the unnecessary abuse and your money!

The cashier station looks like a teenagers messy bedroom with junk, unprofessional signage written with jiffy marker, way too much clutter, freight/merchandise sitting un-worked/piled up on the sales floor, no attention to merchandising displays and product shelves, high volume of random clutter and dusty products, looks like a messy thrift store... and then there is the customer service... The lack of even the most basic customer service skills makes this space intimidating and unwelcoming - especially in the fish section where, I assume the owner, will just bulldoze past you without making eye contact, a simple smile, or conversation of any kind. Engaging your customers especially during a time when people can find cheaper, more convenient products online is crucial to maintaining a sustainable, profitable business.

I recently bought a bearded dragon and have had great service all around town . My boyfriend found this place (Creatures Per Store ) online and we ventured in . I/we had absolutely amazing service from two young ladies at the front desk 2 days in a row (2 weekends ago). During my visit this past Wednesday, Serena helped my with some specific questions I had regarding Rex . Once again I had the most amazing service. Serena listened to my every word , understood my concern and never down played it . She was funny , sincere , although it was minutes to closing she never rushed me , she asked me questions and followed up . Serena recommended great ideas , but never up-sold me on things I didn’t need . I look forward to going in to Creatures again soon and being helped my the original two young ladies and of course Serena herself . Highly recommend Creatures for stock and AMAZING SERVICE . Lots of variety of fish, but lots of dead ones floating about, I know after a shipment comes in there will be some dead/sick ones but that’s not an excuse, looked like they were in there for days. Also, I spoke to a lady in the aquatic section not to long ago and she seemed very stand off-ish and rude, she was also shaming a poor costumer who was being helped before me. My advice is to make sure your employees treat costumers with respect, you might have a great variety and selection of “creatures”, but if you don’t treat costumers fairly they won’t be coming back to buy them. - 1 star because of costumer service

Just dropped off my snake to board with them for a couple of weeks. Great service and I felt totally comfortable leaving him there, despite my initial nervousness, having never boarded him before. They even accommodated my request to go to the back where he'd be boarding so I could say goodbye to him. Their reptile boarding area offered him a spacious terrarium with a couple of hides and a high quality heating set-up, and they offered to let me bring in my own plants/hide to make him feel more at home. It's a big relief having him stay in a safe place (with people who very clearly know reptiles well) while I'm in the process of moving houses. Thanks for the great experience!

I can not express enough my thankfulness to the staff here at creatures! From back in the day when we had a snake and had to come here for feeders to now, that we have a bearded dragon. The staff in reptiles are so knowledgeable! My daughter saved up all her money to buy a baby bearded dragon that we got from Creatures about a year and a half ago. Halo was super helpful with all the equipment we would need along with all the feeding tips. We’ve now been going every week to get Fiona’s bug supply and Serena is always there and so full of knowledge! I’ve never come across someone who cares so much about the “creatures” they’re working with. The covid protocols they have in place are great as well. Much appreciated! My first experience here was awful. I am a long time reptile owner, but a first time snake owner. I had heard great things about this store, and was looking for somewhere else to purchase my rats after my supplier moved, and I had been purchasing from petsmart.
