Came here for a birthday and I must say I was quite impressed at how good the food quality was. Service was quick and friendly, new plates given for every course and portions we're quite sizeable. Price point was very reasonable. For a restaurant that's been around since the 90s, its nice to see that they are still around and still providing top notch service and food. I will be back. On another note, there is also a fish market attached to the restaurant where I believe you can take-out food as well.

Seafood variety is great. Had a wolffish and it was great. The seafood salad was not the greatest in my opinion. However, i am never disappointed when i go there. I had the Table d'hôte for 25$ on a Friday night. It's a very warm and welcoming restaurant in MTL. Price wise, it's hard to beat. Entrée, main dish, coffee/tea and dessert and amazing and funny waiters. I recommend this place for parties, families and dates.

If there is a seafood restaurant in Montreal that compares with freshness and taste I dare you to try to show me it. The service is incredible the ambiance is fantastic. The price is a bit more up there but you definitely get more than you pay. Great for a family time and celebration. A taste of Lebanon of the Mediterranean. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a memorable dining experience. They also have a special takeout which is just as exquisite.

We went for my nephew's baptism. The staff happily offered to set up the sweet table. The service was amazing and fast. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I was greated by chef joseph. Very friendly and welcoming. My shyness disappeared right away. The smell of the food is very seductive. He helped me choose as i do not know Mediterranean cuisine. I loved all the meals. I am sure it is the healthiest food on the planet. We were several on the table my friends were very happy. Chef Josef was kind and took care of us all the evening. We are all very satisfied and we recommed him. I did not notice well but i guess there is an entrance for wheelchairs. I was busy with my boyfriend. There is no ATM. But there is on in the supermaket just across the parking lot. There is plenty of free parking place. It is a quiet restaurant and lots of take out and uber eats

Decent restaurant. Good services. They have really food entrees. We tried the Taboula, Hummus, and the Papa Ghanoush. All were tasty and came in good portions. I was hoping for Mehammara but they don't have it in the menu. We also tried the grilled shrimp as a hot appetizer which was awesome. The vegetarian kebbeba wasn't the best. I would go with the regular one next time. The group ordered shrimps and salmon for the main course. We didnt tey rhe grill menu, as we wanted to go with the seafood menu. In general it was a good experience and I would go back if I want to eat some seafood.

Quite expensive for what you get. Pretty normal Lebanese appetizers - hummus, tanouleh, Baba ganoush, along with good calamari. Fish was fresh, yes, and tasty. Our waiter was very pushy and didn't listen to one of our guests who was trying to avoid gluten and another who didn't want to drink. Total came to over $50 per person.

I've been there 2 times and each time was delightful. The food was made with love and our waiters were great ! Friendly & fun. We had some oysters, a seafood platter (for 2) and a fettouche salad that we shared. The portions were very good. Everything was tasty ! I also really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Both times we went (late in the evening) , the place wasn't packed so we were able to hear ourselves talk. We didn't feel rushed to finish our dishes like some places. We will be back :) Thanks again ! There's also loads of parking which is a plus! :)

My favorite plate and actually I'm dedicating this four-stars, to the sausage which were extremely good. I had the option to order from grill chicken and meat or fish and unfortunately I made a mistake of ordering the grilled chicken and meat. These were not as good as the fish. My food was very dry and overcooked and that's why I didn't liked it that much. Next time I will order fish!! Their raw kibbe was sensational!! Thank you.

Went there a few weeks ago on a Thursday evening. Their "table d'hôte" is a great value. More food than I could eat. I took the rest home to enjoy it the next day! I had the fried fish with rice. It reminded me of my childhood when my mom used to make this. it came with a choice of appetizers, I had the fried Calamari, my husband had the fattoush salad and we share both. They were generous to even offer us a free dessert. I would take away half a star, because the order of kibbe nayé, served as an appetizer, came while we ate our main course.

We went to celebrate our engagement with four of our friends so we were 6. The waiter asked if we prefer to order the food ''à la carte'' or as a menu which costs around 42$ for only 5 kinds of Mezzes. We chose to have the menu and when we told the waiter our decision he announced that the menu could not be made for less than 10 people. We left immiadetly for the bad customer service we had and we went to Beroya who served us an unlimited food service with sooo many kinds of food and who were so welcoming. It was the second time I chose Solemer (altough the first time I went I also had a very bad experience) and the last one. Very bad customer service!! I used to work in restaurants and I know how customers must be treated. Why Beroya is able to serve a menu for 6 persons while Solemer can not do it? I am Lebanese and Solemer was supposed to represent the good behavior of my country... Well I got very disappointed...

I have visited the place twice. The first time we felt like we were eating for free, the staff was very unwelcoming; however the food quality was good. By the end of our evening we were rushed to leave the place, it was very unpleasant. The second time I went there I also had a very bad experience, we were 8 people and they wanted to charge each of us 42$ for 5 dishes which was so unreasonable, and when we agreed to pay the 42$ we were told that we cannot order the (formule) thing because we are less than 10 and we have to order (a la carte). The waiter explicitly told us please order (a la carte) because it is more expensive. Seriously! Long story short, the quality of food is really good, but the staff is really unwelcoming and always looking for an opportunity to seize a $ from the customer. Very bad experience.

A mistake in the order at the first place and they blamed me on it. I paid the bill an addition to a small amount of tips. then the waitress came and argued me on the amount I paid as tips where she said that the amount should be minimum 15 %. How come that they can obligated a client to pay a tip where everybody knows that tips is not obligatory in Quebec... Was an experience I wanted to share with you. The second and the last time I will eat there...

My family and I came to this restaurant during the summer. Close friends recommended this place so the last day of our trip we came to give it a try. There are two entrances to this restaurant. There is a main entrance and an entrance from a seafood shop. We chose the seafood we wanted from the shop and a waiter showed us to our table inside the Solemer restaurant. Now it was a bit confusing while at the seafood market. We were told that we had to purchase the seafood separately and pay additionally for the cooking. My family and I were a party of six. Four adults and two children. We chose 4 medium fish, cooked in a butter suace and salads. My 8yr old son wanted shrimp so I ordered about a pound, 6 pieces. We also ordered salad. The orders took a while to come out, which is not surprising, so we requested that the salads come out first. We sat there for over a half hour with nothing on our table, not even bread. The waiter seemed to lurk around the table, just watching what we are doing and occasionally joining in our conversation. I even took out my phone to take some snaps and the waiter mocked me for taking a selfie! Finally our food came and it was drenched in butter. Just plain butter! The fish was soggy from the butter which made it not too enjoyable. We asked for our waiter for the check. And I could not believe my eyes! My total was $620. I don't know what the heck for! The 6 pieces of shrimp were for $75. We had no idea the food would be so expensive! We spoke to the manager and the manager explained that there were multiple fees for double taxes and fees for purchasing the fish and having it cook. The waiter did not like that we spoke to the manager so he came back with an attitude saying well this is what you pay for eating at the Solemer! He also informed us that gratuity was not included. He even informed us how much we should pay for gratuity. I will never return to this place! I feel like I was taken advantage of and robbed because I'm a tourist. I do not recommend this place!!

Needs a real chef, tasteless fish (how can you screw up cooking a salmon beats me) no seasoning whatsoever, bland overall dish, overcooked French fries ; overpriced wines. Real pitty about a place with potential. To be fair, the other people at our table had the traditional Lebanese dishes and seemed to be Ok with. Won’t come back that’s for sure.
