Great spot with amazing view. I had the seafood platter which was very fresh and delightful ... the clams (oh the clams) were the best I’ve ever had. For desert I had the Oreo peanut butter cheesecake which was as good as it sounds (no it was better). Only reason for 4 stars was the server, she was ok but not what you’d expect from such a great place in the maritimes (I doubt she was a maritimer). Overall I’d highly recommend this place if you are in the beautiful Digby area. If you are in Nova Scotia it’s worth a trip!

The food was delicious, we had coconut shrimp to start and then we all had Haddock & Chips - it didn't disappoint, plus we had a great view from the rooftop patio. The staff was very friendly, and the food was prepared quickly. We found a brochure for The Wheelhouse on the ferry to Digby, and I am so glad we decided to give it a shot.

I tried the "Haddock and Lobster" dinner which was a risk because I am not a big lobster fan. The plate came out and it was full of great food, and the haddock and lobster was buttery and cooked to perfection. I couldn't eat it fast enough! The fries were a little plain but the shaved carrots were delicious.

We had the bacon wrapped scallops OMG so delicious. I also had the fish and chips they were good but the batter or the cocktail dip lacked seasoning. Great service, it got quite busy and then the server had to juggle a lot of tables. But it didn't affect us. Also the fudge at the cash counter worth it! Should have bought more.

We drove to Smith cove just to enjoy the beautiful scenery and decided to have lunch at the wheelhouse restaurant. What a great surprise, the food was so good. We all had fish of some sort <4> and we all decided this place deserves a return next year. I had pan fried haddock and it was cooked to perfection. The lemon meringue pie ????was excellent. This is not only a great place to eat but the setting over looking Smiths Cove and the town of digby is spectacular. A must when visiting Digby.

Visited with a couple of friends from Germany during the Wharf Rat rally. The town was packed as were the restaurants. That said, I was highly impressed with the food and the service. I had an order of clams and my friends had lobster. The food came out very quick and was perfectly done. I will definitely visit again.

This place was terrible. Staff was not friendly or attentive. I found a hair at least 3 inches long in my clams. Jenny our waitress said yep that's a hair. Gave me my bill without taking anything off or apologizing. I will never return or recommend this place. The friends I was with said their food was mediocre. Not worth it!

Great meal and and fantastic views off the upstairs patio. Service was excellent and went above and beyond. After forgetting my car keys at the table our server tracked us down all the way in our campground to let us know our keys had been left behind. Very thankful for such great people!

Chose this place based on reviews. Got there a little before closing - because Google had the wrong hours posted. But they happily sat us anyway. Super nice server, too. And then our sandwich platters came. Seriously the best fish I've had in along time. The batter is light and actually compliments the fish instead of overpowering it. Hubby had the seared scallops and they were great too. Fries and cole slaw rounded out the platters. We would go back without a doubt!

Good munchies platter. Good bacon-wrapped scallops. Deplorable seafood chowder. I was expecting a great soup considering the past reviews, and the general Digby reputation, but alas it was not my experience. Soup was mainly filled with haddock, and the cream base was watery and tasteless. I think I tasted two half pieces of scallops and one piece of lobster. Very disappointing, especially if you make the trip out to the area.

Very pleasant and efficient wait staff. OK meal. We both had pan-fried haddock with veggies. All tasted pretty average. Fish needed some colour. Perhaps a slightly hotter pan with a little butter? A little more flour and crumb coating? Looked rather anemic on the white plate! Nice tartar sauce.

We drove across Nova Scotia to try this restaurant, and it was worth it! First, the service was second to none. Angela was friendly, helpful, and quick! Wow. We were expecting the food to take a while, but the staff was working extremely well together, making for a perfect evening. We didn't wait long for anything. Now the food. We had the bacon wrapped scallops and the coconut shrimp appetizers. Prepared perfectly. Delicious. For entrees, the digby scallop dinner, seafood lasagna, and the fish fricassee in lobster sauce. All were amazingly good. Dessert included coconut cream pie and peanut butter oreo cheesecake. Both were generously portioned and delicious. The cheesecake, in particular, was a highlight. This restaurant is a must if you are dining in the digby area.

Scallops. Scallops. Scallops. We wanted straightforward unadulterated scallops so we ordered them seared. They were excellent. There we 14 scallops in the serving, plus fries, which is why we opted for an appetizer (a cup of the fish stew) and splitting the main course. More than enough food. We sat on the roof area, which was great because it was a very warm day. Our server, Jodie, was excellent.

Like many locals we've been a few times, it's our go-to restaurant! Hard to pick a favorite item on the menu! Such great variety. I really like the Seafood Lasagna and the Greek Salad (best greek dressing ever!) my new go-to is the Aglio Olio pasta (vegetarian and full of flavor!). Kids love the Haddie Bits and Chicken Fettuccine. My partners likes the Burgers, Chicken Strips (real chicken with their own special seasoning) and recent favorite Rib-Eye Steak! And the Onion Rings are amazing, nice crispy batter!

We tried the restaurant today based on other’s reviews. We found the food to be superb. I had seared scallops and the wife had fried clams with a cup of seafood chowder. Any reviews that do not give a 5 for food and service must have missed something. Leslie was our server and to just watch her move to cover all of her tables was tiring just to watch, but she did with all smiling with pleasure. We are from Florida so we won’t be able to return soon but we plan on returning next year.

Spectacular view of Digby Bay while dining topped off with a beautiful sunset. The day we dined was their last meal of the season. Delicious Turkey dinner with pie tea/coffee. So much served that taken home leftovers made a nice lunch next day. Reasonably priced meal at $25+ tax

Literally writing this during my meal. First off I just heard the guy beside me order a burger. Not that their not good burgers, just why are you getting dinner in a seafood town and not getting seafood?! Either way I had the Lobster and Haddock dish, which came damn fast and was a huge portion! Two good sized pieces of haddock SMOTHERED in lobster. I would have uploaded a picture but didnt think before I ate... staff are great too!

Went today for supper and the food was basic at best. For a fishing community I expected to see good fish and chips and was greeted with something to the quality of Capt Highliner. Might be the worst fish and chips I have seen in Nova Scotia. The wait staff was helpful and place had a nice vibe so that is why I gave it 2 stars.

Ordered the hot lobster sandwich. It was exquisite. Flavorful chunks of lobster, topped with a heavenly bisque made for an excellent meal. Everyone picked off my plate!! Others ordered fish and chips and a scallops sandwhich. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great food and great atmosphere.
