This groomer gets one star from me - and actually the first time I've rated any business so low. But when your dog comes back with a leg injury (and a fear of that location when we walk by) I think it's important to warn others. First, they overcharged me because he was too 'difficult' during a groom and nails. I thought it was strange that it was a lot more than the pre-stated price. So take that into account when getting a quote - they don't mention they might charge extra. And when I realized he was limping, they denied that anything could have happened there. Finally, they said he may have pulled a muscle from struggling so much. Hmm.. why was he struggling so much? He's a 9 year old dog who's been groomed his whole life and we've never had him so scared of a groomer before.
If the groomer felt she couldn't groom him without hurting my dog or being aggressive with him - she should have stopped. I would have much preferred that, then seeing him hurt or even overcharged. He limped for a full week after.
I also didn't like that the groomer quickly grabbed him from me and ran off to the back. I felt like it would have been comforting for me to see whose hands I was trusting my dog to. I had sensed something was off when I first gave my dog to her - I've regretted it since.
I've taken my dog to a different shop since (Transitions Grooming) and wow, what a contrast. The groomer was so friendly and caring, and was even able to do his nails without a problem. She's actually a professional and trustworthy.
Again, the dog's nine years old and while he doesn't enjoy being groomed, he hasn't been a problem for past groomers. I know this because he has always gone back freely into those shops. But with this one, he doesn't dare enter or even go near it. He may not have a voice, but his actions speak loud enough.
