This store caters to the guides but still has time for the tourists. Great selection of products. Discounts to Game Club members and Veterans but reasonable prices all round. Staff are super knowledgeable about local waters and the fishing conditions and willing to share all that they know so don't be afraid to ask questions.

Typically my first stop when looking for fishing gear. Sometimes more expensive than Canadian Tire or other big-box stores, but generally their prices are the same or even better. Due to Covid, they are low on stock in some areas - was looking for a weigh scale for instance, but this seems to be the norm for 2020 so certainly can't blame them. Interactions with Staff has been great, everyone I have dealt with has been very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend them for local fishing needs. (I have no opinion on their hunting side of things as I am not a hunter)

It is really sad there aren't more fishing stores like this anymore. They have staff who actually have knowledge about the fishing in the area and they are willing to help you instead of making excuses why they can't or because they know nothing. The store is small, but it is cool. They have a giant chinook on display outside. The inside of store is visibly very neat. They have it packed full of cool lures and sales on rods at the best price they can give without bankrupting themselves. When I first moved here I knew nothing about ocean fishing and one of the employees spent about two hours telling me about his experiences. Nice little fishing store!

I heard that some Prawn traps were on sale last week, so I stopped by cause I was in the area this week. I asked the younger male working where they are in the store and he points me in the direction and an older male immediately comes from the other side of the desk over to me. I asked the older man if they were still on sale and he says “no, they were on for over a week ya know. You should have came then” He was so short and rude about it. So I thanked them anyway and turned and left.... Then as I leave the store he comes over to the window and glares at me in my car until I leave as if I was going to steal something? I’ve heard that a lot of the staff are racists, but apparently they are also sexists. White old men, what do you expect.

Great shop with good services. Really a one stop shop for the avid fisher. Seems to be the best price in the Comox Valley for ammo. A box of 9mm will run you about $15-16 and taxes yet directly across the road at a big Canadian box store a box of 9mm is selling for $23.99 and taxes the prices can't even be touched by Cabelas which is a good 30+ minute drive away. A nice little collection of firearms and even some firearms on consignment sales. Definitely worth stopping in if you are into such activities.

I went in to buy a Father's Day gift for my dad and I asked for a holder and a bunch of flies. I have no knowledge of fly fishing, needed help and was greeted immediately. He spent 10 mins picking out and setting his favourite flies as he fly fishes himself. Labeled the box with wet and dry on each side. He also gave a small discount since I bought a decent amount. Would recommend this place.

Went to buy my sons youth hunting license and I called ahead to see if I needed to bring my son and what else I needed. They told me I needed to bring my son with his ID. I get there and they tell me I need my own hunting license to buy his license. I told him I was very sure that was not the process. I left and called hunting BC and they said no I just needed my own fwid number (not a license) and my son did also not need to come with. The employee is not knowledgeable. If I believed him we would not have gotten my son his license. I’m going to see rice BC to get the license tomorrow now.

I've almost always had great service here, until today. I went in to get a fishing license I was waiting in like a not really line but I was the next person at the counter. An older guy became free, however there was another guy that came in after me that he clearly wanted to help. I understand in customer service you don't always see who is next in so I didnt care that he called the other guy up first. But anyway I walk walk up because I was next and his entire demeanor changed from happy to what looked like angry. As he was helping me he was happily talking to the guy that was after me. Prior to helping me he seemed super friendly to the guy he was helping. I tried to make friendly conversation but he completely shut it down. Just bad customer service from this one guy, from what I can tell from other reviews he's sexist and is rude to mainly female customers. Didn't realize women can't fish in 2020. All the other workers are good. As well, there wasn't any social distancing either, and there was a sign asking to use sanitizer before entering but it was empty.
