Warning: if you're not able to shuck your own oysters, don't plan on getting this store to do it for you. And if you don't have an oyster knife, you're going to need to buy one ($6 Canadian). There is a little patio in front of the store if you do brave to eat your own oysters on your own, and you can get lemon and hot sauce from the store too. Totally worth it. And the oysters are supremo.

They will put your stuff in an ice box to last for a while if you have a far trip. They also sell shucking knives and will show you how to shuck an oyster. Staff is super helpful!! Everything is very fresh and delicious!

Decided to make a clam and chorizo dish for the BC long weekend. Went to my fav seafood shop - they never disappoint. Bought 4 lbs of awesome manilla clams - they were extra fresh. The dish came out fantastic! Thank you Fanny Bay Seafood Shop for supplying great seafood.

Halibut is fresh and great. Oysters are fresh. Great staff. Covid-19 procedures are in place so no customers allowed in the shop. The tent setup at the door with staff taking your orders. The store is hiding behind the gas station.

Great little sea food shop, selection is amazing. The two ladies who helped us were very friendly and helpful. We bought two crabs and a dozen medium oysters that they packed for us on ice, bagged and even cleaned the crabs. We also had for lunch the prawn spring rolls to take with us with a nice spicy peanut sauce. Highly recommend this hard to see but worth the try business. Look for the gas station on the corner that has a large parking lot and they are around the back.

It's a great store to visit for take home seafood, we bought two tumblers of fresh oysters (shelled available as well) and smoked salmon ????. they have muscles, manila clams and crabs. They are located at the exit of the ferry going to Denman Island (Buckle Bay). Like: Variety of seafood available Price is fair Dislike: We didn't buy more smoke salmon to take home, all gone by the time we arrive at nanaimo ferry.????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Tucked away behind the gas station, right near the ferry, so much seafood goodness! The smell as you walk in the door is heavenly! They had freshly made ready-to-eat items, as well as newly caught fresh seafood. We picked up a bunch of oysters and some salmon.

Definetely was hard to find as it was hidden behind gas station and just at the ferry entrance. Prices were ~$1 for both fanny bay and kussi oyster. These are as fresh as you can get.

Under the gas station , this easy to miss place stocks fresh oysters and seafood at affordable prices at much less than its Vancouver outlet. Staff is friendly and gave us ice to keep everything fresh and cold. Don’t forget the oyster shucker !

Several times a year we buy oysters, fresh, canned and smoked. Fantastic service, great product. We fly into Comox or Nanaimo and the staff package everything for you in order to get the product home properly via air. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Got excellent oysters both in shell and container. Perfectly fresh an delicious. Looked like an good selection of other seafood items. Prices were good. Found it a bit tricky to get into parking. Proceed through light as if going onto ferry and then left into parking lot. Store is down stairs behind the gas station.

Visiting Vancouver Island and finding a lot of places with red tide. It was a disappointment for my twins who wanted to eat fresh oysters. They were able to pick oysters on the beaches along Nanaimo beaches but there was the red tide alert. Finally found this place which was located at the back of PC gas station. And found live fresh oysters. My twins downed two dozen! They even wanted to get some more to bring back to Alberta, however, i reasoned out that it won’t be fresh anymore. Went back to hotel at Nanaimo and the following day were craving to go back for more.

The folks that work here are amazing. It can be tourist season when the Vancouver weekenders want 4 fresh medium oysters, with a lemon or the local Union Bay cat that wants 2 lb shucked to go and some salmon candy for his grandkid, but the service is the same. I would argue that the seafoos here is as good as on the dock of your buddy. Saltspring and Lasqueti Mussels, Great Bear Scallops, and Kusshi Oysters in one location is pretty amazing. If you are at the Buckley Bay Ferry, chances are you have 10 min to pop up and check them out.

Staff provided WOW service for me tonight. I couldn't make it before closing so they packaged it up with ice in a foam cooler and left it for pick up at the Petro Can. Great service and my favourite seafood store for many years now. They have never let me down and the seafood has always been fresh and delicious!
