This is our go-to spot for lunch or dinner, any time we travel to Courtenay. The kiosk & the main restaraunt are equally good & the owners are always a pleasure to chat with. They even have Gluten Free wraps!

Fresh delicious reasonably priced spicy food. Our group of four enjoyed different things and liked them all. The restaurant is small but bright with windows overlooking the river. You order at the counter and food is brought to the table when ready. They also do takeout. We were there on a Wednesday just before noon and it became busy very quickly. Service isn't quick because everything is made fresh to order but worth the wait. There is no parking area but street parking and a public lot isn't far away.

My fiance and I went here for the first time and loved it! We both got the Burrito El Grande which was delicous and had lots of beans without drowning out the flavour of the other ingredients. They also serve alcohol which makes it a perfect dinner spot to get your drink on before a night of bar hopping with friends. The interior wasn't overwhelmed with in-your-face Mexican themed decorations but still had a nice warm feel to it. Everything has a vegetarian option and they have several different Mexi salads (we bought a huge container just so we could have it for dinner at home), but they don't have any red meat which I actually like. Suffice to say, we found our new favourite place to go out for lunch!

LOVE this place. I go to the downtown location as well as the beach shack on a fairly regular basis for their falafel roll-up. One of my favourite lunches in the valley and an excellent vegetarian option. DONT MISS OUT!! THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!!!

The place is in a cool spot and the restaurant staff are fine. The problem is that their "hand helds" (a.k.a burritos) are really awful. There is just something off with them. The wrong rice and the wrong spices. The chicken is prepared poorly as well. They aren't advertised as a Mexican place but that is certainly the feel when you walk in. I didn't get to try anything else but based on the burritos I had, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Imagine my surprise when I used to go to Nanaimo to eat Delicados and then one day as I'm heading north on Cliffe Ave. years ago, I see the Delicados sign on the side of the building! Aaaaawsome! They make a variety of salads in house and the wraps are to die for.

Welcome to the Courtney Mexican!!! Or in this case, the Mexican't! Sweet soup!! And no, not in the street sense, just sweet.... Where a chicken tortilla soup shouldn't be. Main course..... Huge burrito! Like HUGE! And then you cut into it, to find the largest collection of sweetcorn I have seen in one meal! And a handful of chicken bits, some brown squish and a couple refried beans. This place once had soul, till it was exercised! If you want great Mexican, find somewhere else!! Please, for the love of Mexican!!

A delicious gem. I've eaten many lunches or semi late afternoon meals here over the years and they haven't let me down yet. Unfortunately they just discontinued the Pop Shoppe supply they carried but the food is always the best part of the place thankfully. The staff is friendly, prices aren't crazy and with the quality of product is comparable to fast food places; in some cases better prices than fast food for the quality AND quantity! If you're looking for a nice and delicious lunch spot, this can top your list

We are from Campbell River and we're told to come here for lunch. REALY impressed. Wonderful fresh and full of flavor. Ample portions. Two of us went for lunch and ordered 1/2 size borito each with a beautiful curried cauliflower and pea salad and a broccoli and bean salad. Topped it off with a ginger beer and we are leaving with full tummies. We'll for sure be back.

Don't listen to any of the naysayers! We do not eat out very often as usually I can cook way better, with good fresh ingredients for a fraction of what one pays in a restaurant. That being said, we have ate at both the downtown Courtney location, as well as had take out from the Shack along the waterfront in Comox. Both times were excellent. The permanent location downtown is quaint, and the staff helpful with their suggestions when it came to ordering. The meal was fresh, flavourful, and plated nicely. As for the Shack by the waterfront, the food was just as good and fresh. It had that nostalgic feeling to it; a time when life was way simpler and innocent. We will be back.
