Great selection, freshness good, but they have a weekly 25$ raffle that's pretty much designed so that the chances of people coming to claim their prize are as little as possible. First of all the only way to know if you won at all is to come into the store- second of all the prize expires every week- third of all everyone is getting tickets even if they aren't coming back the next week. Most weeks the winner does not show up. If not for this raffle that has no rights to function the way it does in this digital age, leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I would have given 5 stars.

I have shopped twice at this store, today was my third and, frankly, would be my last. Not only are their products pricey compared to competition but also some of their staff (cashier) are rude, haughty, grumpy, and clueless to the store’s marketing, promotional, and customer experience strategies. On my second purchase, I got a coupon for which no one bothered to explain to me how it is to be used. I got rudely handed over by one cashier to another to explain the store’s coupon policy. Moreover, upon my startled inquiry to the same former cashier as to why the store’s client database contains some customers’ details but not others’ (such as myself being a new customer), I received a smug and cynical retort from the cashier as to what category of customer I would like to be. Given the sub-par and flimsy customer experience this store offers its new customers, I unequivocally am NOT eager to be a client of this store. This store urgently needs to take a page out of Amazon’s book to learn about the basics of customer experience and overall customer retention strategies. Not only is Amazon their direct competitor - a competitor that frankly beats them on every single facet (price, products, cordiality, and stellar customer experience) but also their direct competitors are just a block away. With the present state of its shabby customer experience, I cannot recommend this store. I propose it radically overhauls its 1. approach to customer experience and 2. pricing strategy.

For a small little shop, Ecollegey is AMAZING. They have such a great selection of organic products which are tricky to find! And I love they are always bringing in new products to test out. I usually watch their Instagram because they are great at posting new arrivals. Just found a new fav gluten free bread brand this way! The produce is always fresh and it’s just heads and tails above what you can get at Provigo at the other end of Monkland. Service is friendly and helpful. It’s a boutique store and it really shows in the level of attention they put into everything.

Very wonderful staff, however this place is a revolving door for employees with good reason. While this store model is everything our world needs, the owner is hands down abusive to her staff. And Deva, I don't care for hearing your response to say " we are a family here and while its hard we figure it out", because if my family treated me like that as an excuse to continue to be abusive they're no family at all. I write this as a warning to people who might want to work here, and as a testimony to how you negatively impacted my path hearing about how you haven't changed yet. Working here harmed my emotional health as a struggling student, gave me eye twitches on both eyes, and really hurt my GPA as I started school. I started a farm on my own and yet I could not survive Deva. To Ecollegey, please learn how to treat people, they will be loyal to you if you treat them with BASIC respect and dignity. My girlfriend had been going through stressful times with school and work. I thought she could use something to relax or while relaxing. I passed by this little market and saw that they had some great essential oils with relaxing properties such as sedative, calming and nerving. My girlfriend was very happy with the product and continues to visit the store to buy the essential oils and other cool products.

Great place to buy fruits and vegetables, as well as other more environmentally friendly options to the usual things you can find in a grocery store. I believe they also make their own in house products, which are expensive but also pretty delicious and worth the price. Their muffins are my favorite breakfast, when I have the option!

Love this little shop. They have a good selection of items and sell some house made goodies and meals. The kombucha taps are great. I definitely recommend stopping in. You can find a little bit of everything from produce and local meats to cleaning supplies.

Great little place! Since they moved to their Monkland location, the produce selection has improved, with lots of local options (Quebec onions with the tops still on!). They also have great meat selections, not just your typical cubes and mince. I do wish they carried more Canadian frozen fruits and vegetables (currently mostly from the US), but it's a small issue. They also hold raffles every week and have a loyalty program for discounts on your purchases. A nice way to save some money!

More and more places have organic food. as a consumer who tries to eat healthily, organic food is a likely choice but there is no guarantee that I would believe that the soil is perfect or the growing enhancement products are totally safe or they are that they use in the space where they grow is necessarily any better. But generally speaking I would prefer to choose organic if it's close to the same price than non-organic. Major grocery chain stores have organic sections although they're small and some food outlets are going totally organic as what they are. This is one of those. And you're if you're looking for one of those then here it is.

If I'd be able to give 0 star, I would. I looked into grocery delivery for convenience. Since we eat only organic, I decided to place an order at ecollegey. I was horrified to say the least. The basil was wilted and wet. The eggplants were brown and inedible. I thought maybe it was a fluke and placed a second order the following week. Same thing. The owner is an absolute nightmare and has the biggest attitude. If you're thinking of placing an order for delivery, don't. You're welcome.

EcollegeY is literally my go to "happy store"! When I'm hungry, tired, joyful, anxious and/or needing to grocery shop I go to EcollegeY. It feels like a treat, something akin to going to a play or concert! The produce and dry goods are fresh and whole, homemade spreads and dips delicious, the staff superb, the ambience warm and the physical space is pretty! I'm grateful to have EcollegeY in my hood.

The woman who owns this staff is so unhinged it is Frightening. I was there with my six year old and she was actually yelling at one of her employees. Yelling. I don't know what it was about but I have Never seen management like this before and I will take us the 5 more blocks further and support a place who knows how to treat people with.... basic decency! Rather than expose my son (or myself) to that kind of disgusting behaviour again. Shame.

Following up with the other reviews, I wanted to affirm that I personally know several people who were abused and treated like human trash by the owners of this place. Ironic, isn't it? A store that claims to be a small family business with a focus on community and wellness.. the way you have treated my friends is appalling, Society is evolving past the need to accept work from verbally and psychologically abusive employers, so good luck moving forward with your current attitude as a business. To whoever reads this, if you have any respect at all for preventing workplace abuse you will shop elsewhere, as to not place money in the pockets of fundamentally terrible human beings. Fleure Sauvage and A Votre Sante are within close proximity ;).

The products sold may help the well-being of the customers, but the owners detrimentally harm the well-being of their staff. Many of us struggle severely during, and after, working at Ecollegey. Today was their first opening day after half a month that they were closed, i went for the first time. Their produce didn't come yet but the nice lady informed me right away about it. She was very helpful the whole time. Their products were good too, not that much for now but so far they have a little bit of everything. I'd definitely come back soon.

Based on the owner's reply to the last review I had to say something. The people that own this place treat their employees just awful. It's constant yelling and abuse in this store. It doesn't matter how many employees leave in the middle of a shift crying or resign, the owners don't change their ways and never admit any fault or wrong-doing. The lack of introspection on the part of the owners, and their inability to treat people with basic human dignity is just appalling.

The fruits and veggies are of excellent quality, yet most of the packaged products are at least 2-3 dollars more expensive than at other grocery stores, such as Tao or Olive Branch (for the same organic brands). Dairy and Meats are very nice quality but hardly affordable for the average person (but understandably if they are indeed local and of top quality). The staff are some of the most pleasant people i have ever had the pleasure of interacting with and they seem to be very passionate and knowledgeable. My biggest issue with the store is the appalling behavior from the woman that owns it, towards customers but especially towards her own employees, who after all, are her bread and butter. A few of my neighbors have also witnessed such deportment, it was quite shocking, and I have several friends in the neighborhood who took their business elsewhere because it just was not pleasant to see. Now that Olive Branch has opened in ndg, there is less reason to buy anything but the produce. And good quality meats can be found at Le Maitre Boucher just up the street. Hope this review helps anyone who is new to the neighborhood and is looking for a good shopping experience.

Ecollegey does have many great products, especially ones that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in Montreal (I've lived here for over 10 years). And the female owner (Deva) does care a huge amount about her products and her store. However - I have known many people who have worked there over the last three years (cashiers, home delivery and stock handlers) who talk about how abusive the owners are (to their staff and each other quite frankly). It can no longer be pushed aside as hearsay. I have also known many people who shopped there and who would be appalled at how Deva would speak to them over the phone, by email and in person. I have been in line when Deva has yelled at a cashier for making a basic mistake only to have the cashier yell back and say something like stop talking to me like that. I was shocked, especially when the owner just walked away. And even more shocked when the customer in line asked the employee if she was OK and that she too had had terrible experiences with Deva. I have also heard Deva make many excuses for why she gets bad reviews or "hate", saying that people can't handle criticism, that this is just who she is, that people don't understand (or like) the naturally more blunt way some Israeli women talk to people. While maybe some of it is true ... to have over 15 people quit out of animosity in the last two years (not including those who simply relocated or found jobs that were of more interest), deserves a second look at your behaviour. I do not recommend anyone shop here for the time being. I believe the store needs to close for a while until the management can actually take a hard look at what they've been doing wrong.

I was asking for information from an employee when this completely hot-headed, over-bearing, presumably the manager, came after overhearing the conversation and disrespected the young employee by berating her for not being good enough, sending her away, apologizing to me on her behalf and then telling me what I would describe as more of a sales pitch than the actual questions that young lady was adequately helping me with. There are a few other locations to pick from in walking distance and I think I will go to those from now on.

I have been a client here for a few years, previous location on Somerld too but just went in at that time at purchased items without setting up an account. The items are very expensive and most of the clients shopping in there have a high income so its not cheap. Good selection but the manager is clueless to the fact that people have things to do. There will be a line up, ultra slow at the cash too and there is another cash right there but they never open it. Staff and manager are chatting away while everyone waits around. Sometimes you go in and no one is at the cash at all and people are waiting and you have to ask...hello...Hey if you are a stay at home Mom or Dad or retired and have buckets of time its probably a nice homey store to go and visit but if you have a full time job, plus kids plus limited time it will drive you nuts going in this place. I am done , looking for another store already.
