The best. The food counters are incredible and the people so friendly.

Nicolas Coronado

Great butcher with delicious sandwiches and a good variety of Western European goods. Great service!

... shame on this place. I have bought today for approximately 25 dollars plus taxes and paid by credit card. I saw 43. 5.60 +10 for sweet + cake 8 and coffee 3$. Taxes is 2.50 approx. They gave me a receipt with no details. When asked it they've shown up like very busy. I arrived home and counted. 25+$... Be careful at the boutique. :( They are not friendly.

Here you can get lots of products typical for Germany an Austria, like sausage specialties or pretzels. Or simply food that is common in a German/Austrian food store. All the meat products are made by the owners. You even can speak German there. It's a family run business with very nice and friendly people.

Oliver Hoffmann

The best soft pretzels in Montreal! Very nice staff (regardless of whether I speak French, German or English with them) and a lot of choice in German/European products.

Matthew Lane

Great food, very knowledgeable butcher, very good store-made sausages, many things for ex-pat north-Europeans.

Louis Jezsik

Terrific little family run shop with lots of Teutonic foods. Good bread, plenty of cheese and homemade strudel. If you like jellies and jams, they have a really impressive selection of imported spreads. In addition to being a small grocery store, you can buy ready to eat food and sit at one of the few tables inside. Get there early and you can indulge in some authentic pretzels, fresh from the oven.

Suzanna is very friendly. She served us very well

Miss W.

Great butcher selection of cold cuts and sausages a plus. Cheese guy knows his cheese gave us excellent choices to choose from. Salads are good. We go there for the rye bread which is great. Many German products. If your German or not check it out!. The store name is deceiving. There are some fish products. If your in the area worth dropping by.

I came with a baby and asked for a cart with a baby seat. They gave me a regular cart and told me to watch my baby so she doesn't fall out. The boss said thay they don't want small children in the store because they grab things off the shelf.

Seems like a very interesting place to explore for German/Austrian delicacies. I went in December, and they had a lot of different kinds of Stollen, marzipan chocolates... Etc. I have not yet tried the butcher part but looking forward to try one day. I saw a lot of different kinds of cured meat and sausages in the show case.

I’ve gone there for a number of years, and they tend to be a bit high-brow. 2 weeks ago I purchased the last 2 vanilla beans. When I tried to use them the bean was dedicated, so dry I couldn’t even cut it in half. I tried to use it by simmering in milk—to no avail. The expiration date was April 2020. When I went back asking for a refund or my money back, the owner (I had asked to speak to the owner and he identified himself as such) told me did you soak it. I said I’d never soaked a bean before but that it was simply dedicated. His response was that he would show it to the manufacturers’ rep. No refund; it’s as if he was blaming me. And that’s the meaning behind my feeling that they are rather dismissive of their clients. So now I’m have to wait who knows how long for $16.00. And I also told him that it was the last on the shelf...when I to,d hi the expiration date was waning he told me that it was still good until 04/2020, and I had to remind him that that was only three months away, and that this was most likely the reason the beans were dried out..to no avail...

Pricey but worth every penny

The food is often stale, old and they will try to sell it to you. The smoked salmon was marked as high risk for salmonella since the packaging was not up to par. read the article in TVA and journal de montreal. Shame on this place. I will never go back

Very friendly atmosphere

Amazing doesn't even begin to describe this place. Easily the best service I've ever received consistently from everyone working there. A wide variety of European products and delicious baked goods. If you're in the area, you simply must visit.

Louise Heidi Ross

Even though its late in December, I was still able to go into this wonderful place and pick up a very good selection of European Christmas goodies.

Patrice Gervais

This is a family owned Austrian-German food store since 1962. This place a best kept secret for excellent food prepared daily by an Austrian-German chef who's is also a BMW Motorist. Most people will take food home or in the nearby parks. A few tables are available to eat on site Great people

Elisabeth

What a great place! Even though I've come to learn it's been around for years, I just discovered this deli a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier that I did. Being of Austrian and German heritage, it's always been tough finding somewhere in Montreal that offers foods I am familiar with. This deli ticks all the boxes, for me. They prepare great sandwiches for you. There's potato salad, ham salad, cucumber salad...sausages, leberkäse and cheeses of all kinds. The shelves are stocked with alot of imported foods, jams and coffee. The breads, buns and pretzels look scrumptious, but my absolute favourite is the apple strudl. It's made just as my mom used to make it, not too sweet, not too tart and sprinkled with icing sugar, with a few squirts of whipped cream, on the side. ????YUM!!

A delightful place to discover on your way to or from St. Joseph's Oratory. They have delicacies from all over the world!

By far, one of the BEST, smaller family-run European grocery stores in the City! I used to live close by and would visit daily but since moving away, I go less often, much to my dismay :-( If you are looking for hard to find delicious Euro products, this is your go to place. But beyond the extremely well-stocked shelves of jams, condiments, cookies, pastas and the like, you will find the most yummy delicious home prepared meals, desserts, breads and salads. Treat yourself to lunch there and you will be hooked! Their shnitzle is the best I have tried, not greasy and cooked to perfection - get some early as they usually sell out daily! I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal from Atlantique. If you are a smoked salmon and gravlax fan, look nowhere else! They smoke their salmon in-house and the taste is like nothing you've ever tried (and yes, my mouth is watering just thinking about it right now!). The other side of loving this jewel of a store is the personnel - kind, caring, always smiling, mutli-generational and family-run. They take great pride in what they are serving you and it shows to a T - they must be doing something right to be in business for over 57 years, sometimes the numbers pretty much speak for themselves! I highly highly highly recommend Atlantique - for the prepared meals, for the breads and desserts, for their amazing cuts of meat, deli, fish and small beautiful produce next to the cash - all served to their loyal customers with a smile and a chat - a true biz model for customer service!

A very good offer of French products! If you appreciate the unbeatable Made in France saucisses, this place is for you! They also offer fresh baked products such as the Gugelhupf.

Annette Leibing

Sehr lecker - very good against homesickness. German newspapers, Gummibärchen, the best choucroute in town, fresh Brezeln, amazing bread and friendly people with whom I can chat in German.

Laurent Pierre

Wonderful place for cold cut, great meat and tons of little goodies for a great treat.

Vlad Kovalyov

Very nice service. Almost family like

Andrew Tencer

They are always kind and helpful and they have quality food.

N. Santana

Family business, family warmth. A business that stands-out because of the quality and freshness of their products and their warm reception and attention to detail. So many favourites, best bacon in the city and best smoked salmon ever. Try their line of amazing house sausages. Take a break and try a meal at the deli counter. Get a schitzel sandwich to go... ohhhh the possibilities! I absolutely love this place!

Alexandre Gauthier

Best sauerkraut in Montréal!! No contest.

Lennart Lundblad

It's great to find some European and even Swedish items. Nice store.

Mila Araujo

Absolutely amazing smoked salmon, I'd call it a house specialty, smoked by the owners. European style grocery with wonderful house made salads, butcher shop, and excellent quality of fruits and vegetables. You can find many imports. If you want to create a quality meal, or get necessary ingredients for entertaining, this is a must check out spot.

Tessa Blanc

Not the best place for fish (offerings are rather limited), but lovely for meats, takeout meals, bread, German pastries, and fine groceries. A real joy!

Christophe Hennebelle

Great place for Finnish and French products on top of the German ones... just what we need. They even have ruisleipä from time to time !

Aleksandra Szadkowska

Superior quality food from the Old Continent - thank you! :)

Great owners and staff, great products, great home-made lunches by Gerald which one can eat on site and take to the office/home. I can only highly recommend Atlantic. Nothing beats a family operated specialty food shop.

Guillaume Pepin

German butcher shop. Imported goods and unique products from Germany. Bake good and home cook style food prepared. Services is typical German. Super efficient and price fairly but don't expect a smile. But all in all a great place for European and German cuisine and flavours

Amazing meat loaf + mashed potatoes and gravy. I might have gotten food poisoning but it's still super worth it.

Fantastic customer service. Food is amazing and selection of packaged grocery items is fantastic. I find items here I've only ever found in Toronto or Germany.

Oliver Z454

Reminded me of my German grandparents i miss them dearly, the smells the atmosphere, and of course the food and products, very friendly helpful staff, i will definitely be back. I loved everything about it.

G O'Reilly

every Saturday i drive to Atlantic on cote des neiges from Beaconsfield to shop my meat and coffee needs etc. Mind you that part is good but it is the reception that makes you always feel like your being welcome like family. It is rare that a store is family from the founder grandfather to the grandkids..A wonderfull store...you need try it.

B Bean

Great, friendly service. Main reason I'm posting here: they often carry herring fillets in brine!! I've found these extremely difficult to find. Hope this helps others.

Luigi Giancristofaro

Small place but packed with good stuff. The sandwiches are excellent. Lots of german food just delicious.

Danny Frank

Walked in a couple of weeks back to look for a particular imported jam . After browsing the cashier asked me what I was looking for , when I replied she said they did not have it , I thanked her , so far so good .She then proceeded to prompt me to leave the store in a manner that was suggestive that she wanted me to leave right there and then (leading me toward the door)as though I was an intruder and stood at the door posing like a bouncer with arms folded and waited there until I was out of the store completely.

Anna-Maria

A taste of home! European imports. Great food and service ????

Regarding the review of Anya Lester with her baby, obviously they do not have a baby shopping cart, have you seen the size of the store?! It's a small intimate family run boutique not a big Walmart. It is also very hard to believe that the boss told you they dont want children in the store??? They love having children and babies in their store, it is also a three generation run business, the bosses grandchildren since they were little spend time helping out in the store so I really doubt that he said that to you. Every time a family comes in with their children, I have whitnesss them giving treats and attention to the kids, they love it. This entire family workes together and gives in their best efforts to keeep up with big corporations, being in business for over 50 years they must be doing something right?! They care about the products they sell since they worked hard in producing them. If ever someone does go home with spoiled food, I'm sure there would be no problem if you brought it back and explained the issue. I see this family has honest and down to earth. Love going there the food is like home!

Lola Ianovski

Most delicious rye bread in town. They only bake fairly small batches but it's worth the extra effort to get there early. Chock full of German/Scandinavian inspired groceries.

Love shopping at Atlantic (parking a bit of a challenge). Great charcuterie, bread and European specialties! Here's a picture of the location taken back in the 50's !
