Not a place I’ll ever go to again to have my dog groomed, I visited the store and asked to have my dog washed, her claws trimmed and specifically said not to trim her hair cuz I like the look of the long hair on Golden Retrievers and didn’t want her look to be altered, when I went back 2 hours after dropping her off (I was told I couldn’t stay there with her while it was being done) they had trimmed the fur around the base of her tail as well as whatever hair she had on her legs, sides and chest which I specifically told them multiple times I didn’t want done but I guess customer satisfaction isn’t their motto, I then paid the $100 they charged me (though I didn’t want to pay that much cause they didn’t follow my instructions on not trimming her fur) outta frustration and left before my emotions started to show or said something I would later regret, we loaded my dog into my friends back seat of his car and proceeded home, upon returning home we noticed blood spots all over the blanket we had put on the back seat of my friends car (so dirt from her paws wouldn’t dirty his back seat where it was raining out n kinda muddy) and I inspected my dog to figure out what caused all the spots, I had Molly (my dog) lay on her back to look at her paws and noticed that there were multiple claws on 3 or her paws that were bleeding and didn’t seem to wanna stop so we took her inside and put baking soda on all the claws that were cut wayyyyy too short as well as cut incorrectly and got the bleeding to stop after about 15minutes, I then called the Pets-R-Us and asked the owner if anything could be done (ie,refund a % of the cost I paid for the grooming gone wrong) and the woman who answered the phone was the woman who co-owns the place with her husband & she told me they weren’t responsible for cutting her claws too short and that for all she knew I was the one who did it and was looking for someone to blame, which is kinda ridiculous considering I had a receipt from them for the grooming and my friend that brought me to pick up my dog had seen and knew it was due to their carelessness & inexperienced staff who aren’t held accountable for their abuse of my dog and countless others, after complaining to friends and family about the situation I quickly found out that there was a bunch of people other than myself who had similar things happen to them at the Pets-R-Us in Stephenville, another common complaint heard around town (personally know someone who sold them a litter of pups that were a mix of 4 breeds but because that they looked like BT pups the store sold them as full bred Boston Terriers pups for $500each) is that they buy litters of pups from anyone who’s dog has puppy’s for approx $100-250 then turn around and sell them for $500each as a full bred puppy knowing full well they’re just your run-of-the-mill mixed breed dogs that most people give away free of charge, I could go on but I’ve already said what I had to say, to put it mildly, if this place had frequent random visits from the health department they’d more than likely lose whatever licence/permit they have to sell animals, especially if the truth were out in the open, TBH if I could have given them 0⭐️’s then that would have been my selected rating
