Great place for sushi on this side of town. Food is tasty and service is excellent. It's a very popular restaurant that can get quite busy during lunch and dinner time. Would definitely recommend this place for its sushi and Korean specialties.

Takeout order (during covid-19) - they didn't put chopsticks, soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, napkins. We have asked for the chopsticks just as an alternative, thinking that there must be some forks/spoons in the bag (as well as everything else), and even then the servant didn't give us any sauce, ginger, wasabi, napkins... The salmon and tuna weren't fresh.

The sushi is fairly good, it is what you would expect from most local sushi shops. but they make a wonderful spicy agedashi tofu that I can not get enough of.

We normally enjoy their food and order the same every time asking for the same changes. Today I was told the chef will not and has not made the changes to a menu item I was requesting. I asked if they had previously used a different chef and I was told no. I don’t like being lied to so I refused to place my order. I don’t appreciate being lied to.

We had family recommend this place while we were out visiting in September 2019. It was so good, we ordered from here another 3 times before we left. Sushi was fresh and among the best we have had.

Definitely the best sushi joint in Chilliwack everything is consistent no long waits the staff is great . My go to is the gairisson roll and when I don't eat rolls I try other dishes such as the tofu and this one Korean dish that's on the menu I can't quite remember the name of it. I storngly recommend coming here rather the. Waist your money at some places you are unsure of.

I’ve been frequenting Maru since moving to Chilliwack back in 2017 and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is always great and the service is efficient, friendly, and prompt. I’ve never felt like the price is unjustified for the quality and quantity of food we get. If you’re looking for your new sushi joint, you’ve found it. Everything here slaps so hard.

The service was extremely friendly and efficient—indeed, I’ve never seen food prepared so quickly before. Most of our food was tasty, however, the Bibimbap was prepared cold—no stone bowl, and hence no crispy rice, nor warm vegetables or meat. Nevertheless, I’d recommend this restaurant for anyone who’d like to eat sushi.

It's really the best place we've found for sushi in Chilliwack. The restaurant is very nice, the service is friendly and efficient and the food is outstanding. This photo was taken tonight and it is Chicken Yakisoba in the foreground, Garrison Roll in the centre and Tuna Tataki (almost gone) in the background. Fantastic!

"Slightly high price" Today I had lunch at this restaurant. when I saw the menu, I was surprised. Because one of their menus is udon is so high price. Just plain udon price is 11$(not including tax). But, lunch combo set is great and reasonable price. You can choose one of five combo menus. It's price between 13$ to 16$. Their service was great and seems like an ownership. And, also this is Korean restaurant. It meaning is you can choose various Korean menus. Thank you, Maru.

Went in for lunch today. Food was amazing, was brought out to the table quickly. Washroom and overall restaurant was clean. However, service was mediocre at best. Our server seemed like she did not want to be there. We were very polite to her but never received a "you're welcome" after saying thank you multiple times. It is unfortunate but we probably will not return. :(

Great take out menu, great prices and quality. Loved that with the new covid situation, the staff are in masks and have plexiglass installed for their safety and mine as a customer. Mentioned that we were going to eat picnic style and they provided extra packaging, napkins and everything you would need. Will definitely be back anytime we’re grabbing a whim picnic to cultus. Great sushi and a bustling business at lunch time, which pretty much means that you'll only be eating fresh food and not something that's stuck around for a million years! The staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy, and our host had on an awesome shirt with a little gem of advice printed on the back. It said "once you've accepted your flaws, they can never be used against you" A profound thought to ponder after a wonderful meal, and one that certainly rings true! Thank you Maru Sushi and staff, we were happy with your establishment and great service, and i look forward to my next opportunity to treat with you all. Five stars all the way! KS

I think it's much better than the average sushi in Vancouver. The service was also great.I don't think the sushi was bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Maybe it's because I live in Vancouver, and have access to so many amazing sushi restaurants, but I found thia place just average and about double the prices of what I'm use to.

Came here today. Horrible service and everything we ordered was salty. I ordered lunch box B. Server gave me lunch box A. When I told her the order was wrong she told me I was wrong and that I ordered A. The only difference was that B came with sashimi and A comes with California roll. I do not like California roll so I would have known not to order this. She didn’t even offer to change my order or if I wanted to add anything else. 0 star rating if it was an option. Never returning here.

Back in Chilliwack for work and stopped by for lunch. This time around I ordered the sashimi box...and it was quite good. Great presentation, great service and tasty food makes for a positive food experience. Happy to recommend Maru Sushi if you are in the area. The service was also great.

Probably some of the best sushi in Chilliwack, always and consistently the best tasting and presentation is on point. Even during these uncertain times the quality of their food and service hasn’t changed, they remain my favourite. They even have a new app, even though it seems to be a little outdated it works well for ordering ahead. I would hugely recommend there spicy salmon roll, full pieces of salmon instead of that chopped up stuff, perfect amount of spicy! Keep up the good work! As always support local, shop local!

This is the best Japanese restaurant in all of BC. The upon soup is my personal favorite, the dashi is full of flavour, umani overload. The tempura is nice, light and crisp. The chicken Karaage is so good we always have to get two orders. My wife lives their rolls and my father in-law lives for the chicken teriyaki. Don't miss out on this gem of Garrison. Its one of the reasons we moved out to Chilliwack

Consistently the best sushi in town. Went there recently and even with a big order everything came out so quickly. Waitresses were attentive and fast, service was fantastic and the sushi as always tasted AMAZING. Sashimi is great here!

I've had the best sushi in Vancouver (Tojos) and probably the worst as well.... Maru is very good quality. They would get 5 stars if their prices were a little cheaper. But you get what you pay for.

This place's food is good, the staff is friendly, and a clean restaurant. The price is reasonable for a Japanese-Korean restaurant. We ordered the ChirashiDon and Seafood Ramen. They're all good. They have plexiglass barriers in place, and they tell you where to seat to ensure there's proper spacing between other diners.

Visited this location a few weeks ago and the food was good! Sashimi salad was tasty as was the variety of sushi rolls we ordered. It wasn't busy when we went in and the food was ready incredibly fast. My order was probably ready in less then 10 minutes, really excellent service. Staff was also very friendly for the brief time I waited in store. Will have to attend a few more times to really get a good idea of how the service and variety of food is. Definitely a good first impression though!

Came to eat here for an anniversary dinner and left very disappointed. Immediately upon being seated we were advised by our server that they close at 9:30. It was 8:45 at this point- so unnecessarily preemptive on his part. We ate our sushi and the server brought the bill around 9:25 to which we immediately paid and tipped 20% on the portable machine. I still had a small amount of beer left in my glass - at 9:28 the server returned and said " I'm sorry we close at 9:30" and at 9:29 they shut the light off on us- I couldn't even finish my beer. I was a server for years and I understand that it is annoying when people linger after close, however, I would never dream of turning the lights of on a customer who had just tipped 20% while they were finishing a beverage - a minute BEFORE close. - Also we ate here the week before and the same server came up and the first thing he greeted us with was the closing time on that occasion as well ( same server). We have NEVER lingered in an establishment after close ( being a server previously, I understand how frustrating that can be). Unfortunately, they seem to prioritize getting patrons out the door over providing good service.

Always loved their menu and service, today I tried to support my local business - wife placed order I went in social distancing to pick up. Older woman at front asked for my last name which I gave, mispronounced it 4 or five time (super easy last name like Smith....) said all our names sound the same thats why she cant find my order..... I'm not impressed to be racial profiled by this statement considering I'm a non denominational Caucasian Canadian who would never racially slur or utter comment such as this. I'll never return here.
