A great little pub on the lake. A hidden gem. I ate portabello burger and it was amazing!! It was deep fried and stuffed with cheese. I’ve never had anything like it. This place is right on the water, clean with extremely friendly staff. My boyfriend and I drove down from sarnia. It was great and we will be back.

We visited right after "dine-in" was restarted - we ate on the patio though. The service was excellent - they didn't seem rushed, the food came out in a very reasonable time, and the patio was packed. We ordered a Caesar salad and crab cakes to split between us and each of us ordered a pickerel dinner. The food was very good - the crab cakes were moist and very tasty - the pickerel was very lightly breaded and pan fried ... Excellent! Thanks for a great meal beside the Eau!

Terrific venue overlooking Rondeau Bay near entrance to Rondeau Park. Improvements since last year include access by boat and faster service. Large menu of basic food including perch, ribs and vegetarian options. Reasonably priced Pelee Island wines. Be careful though - very high charges for substitutions or extras. ($1.50 for some lemon wedges, $3.50 for small cup of extra sauce and $3.50 to substitute onion rings for chips.... Child friendly and even well-behaved dog friendly. Excellent family, casual restaurant.

Another Thursday night visit to one of the best restaurant locations in Chatham-Kent. My wife had the amazing ribs and I had the chicken. Fantastic service, the staff were literally running. Super friendly and reasonably priced. Strong recommendation, visit before he closes at the of the month.

Paul the owner/bartender is a great guy. The food is incredible and even better if you catch the place on rib night. Spent a few days visiting during my stay in Rondeau bay. Very disappointing. We had a large group (13) and had reservations in advance, so they knew we were coming. Despite this, the owner served us himself and didn't have anyone helping him, and he apparently could only take 3 drink orders at a time. He forgot a drink for one of the kids and brought it after being reminded as he was getting refills of drinks for the others. Food quality for the price was also disappointing, and we waited a long time after ordering for the food to arrive. Their "famous Thursday night ribs special" was $21 for a half-rack of side ribs, served only with fries (the waffle fries were tasty and part of the reason for the 2-star rating). The ribs were cooked well but were not meaty, nor particularly flavourful. My son had the pierogies, which were good and a good portion for children (they don't offer a separate children's menu), and my other son had the personal pizza, which was large at 10", and was supposed to come with three toppings. He asked for extra cheese, pepperoni and bacon, and we were charged $3 for the extra cheese. The vegetarian wrap that was supposed to come with falafel included crumbled bits of the exterior breading of a falafel ball, not any actual chick pea falafel to add texture and protein. The chicken ceasar wrap was ordered by a member of our party, and it arrived without any chicken in the wrap. The waiter (owner) was asked about this, who agreed it should have included chicken, and it was returned to the kitchen and replaced with a full new wrap with the chicken. Then the bills arrived, which included an extra charge for the "added" chicken. I don't often tip poorly, but because we had the owner serving us and it was such poor food and service, particularly for the price, I gave a very poor tip to reflect this. Very disappointing and our entire party regretted going there for our meal.

17.50 for the fish and chips special. Fish was 95% batter and the chips were McCain frozen waffle fries. When I tried to cut the fish it crumbled away because it was so over cooked. Left and will never go there again.

Great little place. Nice setting on a small harbor/boat slip just before the gate to Rondeau Provincial Park. We had good food and service when we went (2020). Prices for entrees range from $12 to $30 from what we saw. Vegan options as well.

An amazing place for a quick bite or a meal while spending the day at Rondeau Provincial Park. It is located just about 100m away from the entrance of Rondeau Provincial park. Even during this post covid season you can dine at their spacious patio with a breathtaking view of Rondeau bay. The food is amazing too, and worthy of every of penny! There may be some waiting time during the rush hour.

Great location with a patio overlooking Rondeau Bay. Very friendly staff. But the food is just average. The coating on the pickerel was so strong you couldn't taste the fish. No options for potatoes - you get spicy fries, period. And the vegetable consists of a tablespoon of soggy coleslaw. Although the portion was large, it wasn't worth $20+.

Terrible food, terrible service. Really really terrible food. Really. The best thing about the place was the view and the beer. The only reason I'm giving them 1 star is that ZERO stars isn't an option. Seriously the worst place I've ever eaten. Save yourself some bitter disappointment and go anywhere but here. Just directly outside Rondeau Provincial Park. Great location to watch the sunset and seeing the moon and stars. Jupiter and Saturn was brightly lite in the sky. It was late in the evening and we had the fish and chips. The perch was over cooked and hard though but the pickeral was fine. Note: Outdoor eating only.

Very good restaurant and pub near the entrance of the Rondeau Provincial park. The food is quality and tasty. I recommend to have their sirlion burger with fries. Especially their fries taste different and very good (coated with some batter and differnet shape). The prices of the food are very reasonable and worth. There might be slight delays during the peak hours. I think it not a big deal. Perfect place, great service and delicious food.

Rondeau Joe's served up some of the best fish and chips i've ever had. The fish was lightly battered and incredibly fresh. The fries were a tasty addition. We went with a large group and we were easily accommodated on the patio. Absolutely great view of the lake and a beautiful sunset. Service was a little on the slower side, but great and with such a good view and cold beer, who cares.

We had friendly, first-rate service and a delicious meal of fresh perch and pickerel. Frankly, it was the best batter I think I've ever had. The place wasnt crowded; and we were welcomed to stay and relax. We did, enjoying a beautiful summer evening with a cold bevvie. We walked back to our camp site full and happy. Sorry no pic - it prob wouldnt do it justice anyway.

Excellent perch dinner and lots of drink options. The staff are very friendly and service was good. They are observing Covid precautions which impacts the number of seats available and the speed of service a bit but the beautiful view and accommodating staff make up for any delays. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

I find Rondeau Joes to be Clean, great selection of food....(Love the Sons of Kent Blonde Beer), patio is fantastic with just the right amount of shaded areas for those hot days and for those who love the sun, lots of space there......have been back many times as the best sunsets in Ontario can be seen at Rondeau Joes nightly....Have watched many photo enthusiasts have their cameras out for this spectacle.....where else can you bring your partner, watch the sunset and have a pint or cocktail of your choice? :)

Did not have a good experience ordering take out from this place. We were staying at a campground 15 minutes away (30 minute round trip). Picked up our order to find that two entrees were missing. When I called the restaurant they apologized and offered to remake the missing orders, but we had to drive back and pick them up. In the mean time, the rest of our family and friends ate their meals back at the campground. We spend a total of 1 hour travelling time between the two trips to the restaurant and they offered no compensation for the missing meals. They only asked us not to let this incident stop us from returning next time we are camping. As for the food, the mozzarella sticks were not cooked. The cheese was the consistency of a cold cheese string(not melted inside at all) and our waffle fries were way undercooked as well. This restaurant and the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth.....literally

I'm just sharing my experience at this restaurant. Four of us went for dinner at about 7:45pm. There was a family there with two kids in front of us and two groups of people behind us. Ten minutes later a couple of guys and a girl arrived and went straight to the bar. We waited for about half an hour to get in while that group got their seats before us. We were seated by the patio, the view was nice but if you check the water it's stagnant and you can tell it's a nesting place for mosquitoes. Finally got our table, waited for almost an hour. By the time we got our food the restaurant was closing. Since we we're on the patio at 9:00pm (closing time), mosquitoes were all over us and there was no light. The server didn't even offer us to seat inside the bar. We waited for an hour for cold food, undercooked shrimp, and missing scallops. BEWARE OF MOSQUITOES!!! There are an incredible amount of them. I didn't want to give a tip but their machine has no option to NOT provide one. I had no choice. I've been to alot of restaurants but this has been the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant ever.

Kitchen messed up on the cheeseburger we ordered so we sent it back and said not to bother making another one it’s fine because it would have taken another 45 mins of waiting. The bill came and we got charged for the burger. Server said there’s nothing she can do and that the kitchen won’t allow it to be compensated..so we paid $15 for a burger we returned because it had items in it that we specifically didn’t want and were clear about. Never going back.

Went on the patio for lunch. The server threw the menu at us and left. Didnt ask if we would like a drink or anything. Waited 20 mins and they never came back so we left. Cant tell you how the food was since we didn't have any. Very disappointing.

Exceptional! Excellent service and food. We felt like family! We went to Rondeau PP for an afternoon visit to the beach with our 7 mo and our parents. We sometimes have difficulty finding a restaurant that fits all our different diets and one where we feel comfortable bringing a baby and if I needed to breastfeed. We felt right at home at Rondeau Joe’s and everyone was so nice and accommodating. We had no problems finding a vegetarian option and my meat and beer loving father was super happy with his meal as well! The perch was to die for! We will definitely be back!

Here is another restaurant in a beautiful location that is seriously lacking in it's atmosphere and in need of upgrading. If you suffer from vertigo do not eat on the outdoor patio The food was good the service oka too but the outdoor patio slopes toward the water very uncomfortable to sit and eat.

The view is nice but the service was very inconsistent and the water glasses had ceaser rim in the bottom as well as the glasses we had mixed drinks in. Not very clean. The chicken burger we had ordered was ice cold, sent back to chicken without an issue and didn't charge us but still worry some. Definitely wouldn't recommend as a first or second choice.

I was at rondeau joes on friday august 24th for a relaxing late lunch ordered a craft beer brewed in chatham and after a couple sips i felt a large slimy something in my mouth i gagged numerous times and spit itout on the table trying not to throw up no napkins available no one on the staff came to my aid voluntarily once called over the waiter proceeded to remove the glass of beer but not the omega like slime i was offered another beer however that would not work for me. The more i thought about it i was absolutely ill. I ended up vomiting numerous times in the washroom. Our food was ready and i managed to eat some of it but couldnt force myself to drink anything at all. Whe. Finished the bill was presented and the waiter took off a big $2.50 so my horrible experience cost me $20.00 ! I would not recommend rondeau joe'si only gave one star because you cant post a review with no stars

Highly disappointing. The food is mediocre and expensive. Service is expected to be bad during COVID but what threw me off the most is that they don’t even disinfect tables between customers. Yesterday, it was a very hot day and they don’t even bring water to the tables. I asked for water during our meal, nothing. I asked again and eventually she brought one glass to a table of four. I asked again and she brought a 2nd glass. My husband asked for a second beer and the beer was something different than what his first was, didn’t even bother. Their fish has the same taste and texture as rubber. Shriveled and strange looking pieces for $23. Their chicken tastes a like they never changed the oil in their frier... My burger ( on the menu, described as fresh) wasn’t even Costco frozen burgers quality... I would never go back. Prices are too high for the quality of food and service. To add insult to injury, if you seat near water, tables are in a slant and my daughter’s phone slid right off the table (fully cracked screen). Just a mediocre place, with good location where they don’t care about the well being of their customers and try desperately to make a quick profit. We will never go back. Truly disappointed.

This place has to qualify as a dive. The service was slow, the building is dark despite being on the bay, and the bar has a very limited selection of liquer. The beer selection was surprisingly good though, and the food was wonderful even though the menu was what you might expect. We'll definitely be back though, as its hard to find a good dive where you don't have to be a local to sit in comfort. Note: Service was slow when we went because the bar tender was also the only server. I'm unsure if this was normal or simply a result of the time of day we went, but he was as attentive as possible and had great customer service skills.

Today my sister and I went here with my 2 year old daughter after GreenView Avaries. After waiting an hour and 20 minutes without being served even an appetizer (e.g. the garlic bread and salad that I ordered with my meal that we all woulda shared) we decided to up and leave. We left $3 on the table for the chocolate milk for my girl. We seen ppl who came in after us were getting their appetizers and their meals before us. The waiter was very sweet however she only asked us how our drinks were for the whole time we sat there. I had brought my daughter to the bathroom TWICE in the time we were there. My water also had sediment in it- it looked like sand. It was very disappointing especially as I had a small child with me and it was 7:30 by the time we left without having anything for my daughter. I could have went to Tim’s and would’ve been home in that time- which we ended up going to Tim’s.

I was here a couple years back but I'm sure it's just as inviting. I cycled from London to Rondeau Park and stopped in for a drink and a well deserved meal. Left with a good buzz a full stomach and even a free bag of groceries while at camp. They wouldnt take no for answer when I said I had my own food.

Went to Rondeau Joes not long ago while camping less than ten minutes away at Wildwood. Our waitress was very sweet and attended to our every need quickly and always with a kind word, despite the busyness of the patio. I had the locally caught yellow lake perch which was some of the best perch I've had! The waffle fries were also very delicious and were enjoyed by my entire family! My husband's chicken burger was also very good and my sons burger was gobbled up in minutes! The beautiful view over the water made the evening just that more incredible. Definitely would recommend, cant wait to go back!

Service was great it was fast and all but comes at a cost. The food was lacking and seemed pre packaged. Quesadilla came not even melted and raw veggies. Fettuchini had a wierd after taste, seemed like it was made with a sauce packet.
