The legend I heard was that the owners brought the deep fryers specially from England so that the fish and chips would be the best they could be. I don't know if that's true. The food however is great. The prices, for seafood, are unbeatable. If you never visit this place you are doing yourself a disservice. Note: This place is cash only! Most things are $10-12 per dish, so come prepared!

One of the best fish and chips I have had . They use fresh local fish in a homemade batter, with homemade fries and homemade coleslaw. The food is amazing, really really amazing. I live in Windsor and drive all the way to Chatham for it; its that good! The prices are extremely reasonable. Especially if you go on Tuesday, that is their fish and chip special-day; there is no where place that can beat their price, and combined with the quality, I will not go anywhere else for fish and chips anymore

Tried to get my dad his favourite dinner for his birthday, invited family over, attempted to call in our large order the day before but they wouldn't take my call. Showed up at 6pm to order they had no, halibut, no gravy, ran out of cod and they only take cash yet low and behold their bank machine was out of money! Ladies were very nice at the counter but NOT any way to run a business. I hope this doesn't continue. This business will not survive in todays world.

Hello folks I just had lunch here. It is vary clean and the staff is so nice. The food is extremely good. If anyone is looking for a fryer cook position They are looking to fill this position for the right person . It will be a part time job until the Christmas holidays and turning into a full time job. I am not affiliated with this store, I just seen the posting for the job in their restaurant front window. I also inquired about the job. Having had the urge for fish & chips for weeks, I stopped in for the lunch special. As I had read some reviews I was really looking forward to this. The woman behind the counter was very nice, the container was great (the old fashioned heavy duty tray), the portion size was large and the service was quick. Unfortunately the food, which should be the star was Frickin aweful. The fish had absolutely no taste at all and the fries were extremely greasy. It was the first time in my 65 years that I’ve thrown out an order of fish & chips!

New place is great went on a Thursday night was busy yet wait time was minimal for fish, bit longer for chicken. Prices up a bit too but still worth the value for the good food you get. Staff are always nice to deal with and work hard to serve up your meal as fast as they can.

Soggy fish soggy fries. The smallest container at $1.75 for really good coleslaw. Tarter sauce in a plastic package. What do you think I think. BTW, staff with long hair in a ponytail and continually tucking it with their fingers around their ears.

Very disappointed. We ordered takeout on Good Friday. Admittedly it was very busy, long lineups. We ordered takeout for 4 and 2 of us got sick later that evening and into the next day. We believe that the fish was not cooked properly. Also, it is very frustrating that Fricks does not accept either interact or credit. Also frustrating, their bank machine was out of order meaning that we had to go looking for a bank, thus losing our place in line. When we returned the line was even longer! I am not sure I will go back there again.

Very disappointing. Walked in and ordered based on the counter staff's recommendation. Waited 30 minutes. The person that came in 25 minutes after I did walked out with twice the food in 10 minutes . Good food, very slow. This was at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Echoing many of the other reviews, no debit makes Frick's a place to avoid. Also, I turned up a 7:40 one night to be told that the place was closed for the night - official opening times up until 8pm. Folks behind the counter were surly about it, too; hardly great customer service. I hope the new place has a debit machine because, guys, you're losing a lot of business if you don't have one.

70$ Order was made online they called a half hour before the scheduled pick up time saying it was ready and that if we didn't come right now we would have to have it cold because they wouldn't remake it fresh to fix their mistake. Showed up to this place after searching fish and chips on a Monday night about 6:30pm and another customer was leaving and I asked if this was parking for Fricks and he told me the place was closed!! This website said 8pm and on the door the store hours also said 8pm but for some reason it decided to either close or not open at all. I can tell you I was angry, I drove across town to get good fish and was extremely put out and disappointed to find the place closed. Doubt I'll be back.

Fish was Awesome as Usual. Now the chips, not so good, they are usually hit or miss, These were cold, a bit soggy even though I asked for Crisp Chips? Apparently that must mean the cold chips left in the drip tray. No salt or vinegar, nothing hit the chips under the 3 pieces of fish unfortunately, including the heat. :(

Fish is brilliant. Nice size. Nice taste. Fries (chips) are not nice at all, no matter what time we get there they always taste like they are reheated 3xs or something. Service is always very friendly though. Wish they took card but they do have atm inside the store (that charges of course) my review will go to 5☆ when the chips improve.
