Went for lunch. Wish they had more than just sandwiches and burgers for their lunch menu. Everything tasted great, however we were seated in a very narrow aisle way and my mother felt like she had to move her seat every time a waiter walked by (we were next to the kitchen). Would go again, probably for dinner though.

In my humble opinion, the CBH has one of the best breakfast menus in Chatham. The pancakes are amazing and, for experience, it definitely beats out the various greasy spoons in town. I like bringing my parents here as a treat, and doing brunch with my friends on the weekend. Strongly recommend!

They lie on the menu!! I ordered the "Atlantic fish and chips" when ordering one would assume that "Atlantic fish and chips" would be cod. Upon receiving my meal I notice that it didn't taste or have the texture of cod. Asked the waitress to find out what kind fish it was and she came back to tell us it was BASA. Basa is a type of cat fish from the Mekong river. It's NOT EVEN A SALT WATER FISH. Beware of what you order, they are fooling the masses, don't be fooled!

Discovered this wonderful restaurant by accident. Our waitress was great, very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very courteous. Our dinners were excellent, one of the best steaks I've had in ages. My wife's free range chicken was awesome, great flavour, perfectly done. We will be returning on subsequent visits to Chatham.

Had very disappointing service here yesterday. The food is typically great here for takeout, but this is the second time I've had bad service dining in. Will likely order the takeout again, but will not dine in. Yesterday, we had a party of 8 adults and 1 child for brunch. To start, we had asked for a highchair when making reservations - no high chair on arrival so we asked when we were seated then still had to ask one more time. Our server was not friendly (I understand that not everyone has a bubbly personality, but a smile would have been appreciated) The biggest issue was the large hair in one of our plates of food (it was absolutely not one of our own hairs, and we received no discount off the bill!) On top of that, we had a couple plates of cold food (my omelette in particular), one of the plates had the wrong meat, and again, we had to ask multiple times for the same things: I had to catch the servers attention while he was walking by to ask for a coffee refill, and finally almost 10 minutes later he came by asking if anyone needed a coffee refill...? So the combination of unfriendly service + hair in food + cold food + slow response time made for a negative experience overall. They did however promptly replace the plate with the hair in it, and served the whole restaurant mimosas which is a nice gesture... They did also manage to bring out the child's food first which we asked for. That is the reason this rating is a 2 and not a 1.

If you'd like to be seated quickly, fed large portions, banter with the waitstaff, and like your food a certain way, this is the place for you. Sunday breakfast is served hot, coffee is delectable, and all seats are comfortable. I am thankful the prices have not climbed too high. Other breakfast places in Chatham do not compare, both in quality, atmosphere and service.

The dishes that came to the table were like art, the atmosphere took me away from Chatham and put me into what felt like Portugal. The food was quality over quantity, yet the quantity was still there. The only recommendation I would have for this restaurant would be to improve the quality of the homefries... maybe pan fry them. All in all the quantity made up for anything with a lower quality. Great place, definitely coming back!

I was there with a group of 14 or so people on Saturday, we asked for a pickle and were told it was 90 cents. We also asked if they would throw together some appetizers while we wait for everyone to get there, some of our group were bi-passing an accident on the 401 and were late. This place made no accommodation for us, their answer was no we can't make appetizers. With a large group and the money we spent you would have thought they would try to make us happy. Pickles at 90 cents, really? When we received our food it was good and our wait staff was friendly but whoever was making the non-accommodating decisions in the back should re-think their hard line on saying no to guests.

I visited for lunch and the overall experience was excellent. I had the quarter chicken special, which was incredibly delicious and priced very well. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, and the service was excellent. A few people in my party had a sandwich and soup and said that it was very good. I didn't get a chance to see what they offered in terms of wine and beer, but I am presuming that they have a decent selection of wines. I hope to return again the next time I am in the Chatham area.

We have had two experiences with their take out. One very good (or so we thought) and a second surprising and disappointing. Visit 1 - half chicken dinner with key lime cheese cake After ordering, we decided to add dessert and requested what gluten free options there would be. Brian indicated several options including the key lime cheesecake. The food was delicious, until the cake caused my wife to break out in hives. Visit 2 - turtle cheese cake When we arrived at the takeout counter we again asked which desserts were gluten free. The chef checked in the back only to return saying only the turtles cheesecake was gluten free. So we ordered it... only to receive a piece not quite half the size of the one displayed for over $10. While their food is delicious and the staff are friendly, the menu details re:gluten free options need to be passed on clearer to the staff. As well, beware of false advertising with their desserts.

If i could give them zero stars I would. Their customer service is terrible. The restaurant was only 1/4 full at lunch today however being rude and arrogant appeared to be their special today and I walked out prior to even being seated. First time going after coming into town from an hour a way to shop. I will never come back. I got a take out salad from subway and ate it in my car instead of spending my intended $60 at this rude restaurant.

Absolutely amazing experience. My husband took me here March 5th for my birthday. The hostess was extremely friendly and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very professional and very informative. Every bit of our meal was perfect. We had calamari to start and it was presented beautifully and was delicious! My salad was beautiful. The olives were an excellent addition! I had the medium rare prime rib and it was exceptional! Cooked perfect! The garlic mashed potatoes were wonderful and everything was served hot. My husband had the Portuguese fish and chips and he absolutely loved it. This will be our new favorite spot.

Beautiful place. Love the breakfast here... well put together menu with different options on top of the OG breakfast special. The pancakes are the size of your head and the Banana Foster is to die for. Prices are awesome compared to other breakfast places in town for the amount of food you get. Favourite breakfast place by far in town. They were pretty busy and told us they stopped seatings at 1, even though they are opened untill 2 so we rushed to get there from out of town only to that they were clearly still seating walkins after 1. The waitress was very busy and everything; drinks, cutlery, our orders took extra time to receive. All around the atmosphere was beautiful and will look forward to returning for dinner service. On August 24, my wife & I were here for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We were promptly seated as soon as we got inside. Our waitress, Becky, and the service was amazing, the restaurant felt quite cozy. Hugh portions of food on our plates, it was quite delicious. My wife had the free range chicken & I had the parma seafood pasta. I also had the cod cakes. Being from Newfoundland, they tasted identical to the ones my Grandmother used to make, it brought back happy memories for me. Kudos to the chef who made them!! We will be returning again in the near future, for another fine dining experience. And will recommend this restaurant to all of our friends.

As with most Portuguese restaurants your portions are massive! Cod fritters and shrimp piri piri were great starters to share. Churrasco chicken was cooked really well and we have leftovers for two more meals. Great value and flavour.

I went there for both dinner and breakfast. For dinner, I got the peri chicken and loaded mash potatoes and the person I was with got a steak - we tried the cheese bread and shrimp for appetizers. The food was good, but we did have a few issues - the steak was a bit chewy and my chicken wasn't as flavourful as I anticipated - big portions though and the loaded mash potatoes was delicious! We got the apple dessert at the end, can't go wrong with a dessert. For breakfast we had the chocolate pancakes - a bit dry/not fluffy. Mine was a standard 3 egg breakfast, no complaints - it was average. I ordered a muffin as well, thinking it would be freshly baked but seemed to be store bought. As for atmosphere, nice looking restaurant. There was plenty of seating, this place does take reservations, but doesn't seem to have much if a wait and there were a lot of people walking in after we came in being seated quickly. This place closes early on weekends, so don't anticipate a late dinner - I believe it closes around 8-9pm. They also do catering/takeout. I saw alot of people coming in to just pick up big trays of food.

By far the best place to eat in Chatham Kent. Always top notch food and service. The food is guaranteed fresh and delicious everytime and the servers are always kind, helpful and constantly making sure you have what you need or everything is ok. That is a nice change of pace from a lot of other restaurants. They have amazing take out as well. We often get the chicken take out dinner for 4 (there is me, my wife and our daughter) and we have enough for 2 suppers and the price is around or just under 40$ tax in. It's practically the same price as cooking it yourself! Some of my friends have also done the larger group take out orders of prime rib I believe for parties and said it was amazing and very reasonably priced. The prices here might be a few dollars more per plate than some other local restaurants (and very similar to a place like Boston pizza) but stop in and try the quality and you will more than likely never look at the price again on the menu here. We have been long time customers and will continue to be, as this is our favorite restaurant around. Breakfast, lunch or supper they can't be beat!

Okay food Sometimes..went to dinner with friends.. took 1,5 hrs to get main. 30mins for appetizer and water. Wasnt offered more drinks..Didn't have most of what we wanted from their menu.. When we settled we got semi raw chicken,semi raw fish.. Very bland,over salted food. Ate half of it paid for all of it.. the servers are unempathetic and rude. Never will I spend my money here. I recommend chilled cork.. or go out of town

Normally I would give 5 stars, but we made a reservation for 9 people with plenty of notice and ended up waiting over 20-30 minutes for our table when we arrived (Sunday morning brunch). After we were finally seated, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing as always. I wouldn't even have minded having to wait for our table if there were a proper lobby area for us to have waited. We were squished into a small area outside the washroom without enough seats for our entire party. Those of us who were standing had to move every couple of minutes as people came and went from the washroom because we were so crowded that we were blocking the washrooms. And, on top of that, the staff completely ignored us for the entire 20-30 minutes. Nobody came by to let us know the status of the reservation, or offer us coffee.. I've only ever had wonderful experiences at this restaurant, but had this been my first ever experience with them I would never return. Knowing that this was a fluke, I'll go back, but they lose one star in my opinion. Could have been a much worse experience, but also could have been much better.

I think we must have come on an 'off night'. Our waitress even said her boss was in a bad mood. Our dinner started off great, we had an awesome server and we were excited to try the food. Unfortunately, after we gave our order, our waitress was replaced. From then on, things went downhill. We had ordered a second beer from our original server but I guess the new server didn't know and so it took forever to get that. Then when our food came, I had to send the baked potato back as it had bacon in it and I'd been assured my our original waitress that it could be ordered without bacon. So that took awhile, to get the replacement potato. In the meantime, I ate my piri piri shrimp, which I have to say was fantastic. That's why I gave a two star instead of one. My husbands dinner was not so great. He had expressly asked for a well-done burger and 'not to have pink in the middle'. But well it was pink all through. The tomato was the 'end cut' so there was that hard inedible green part that he had to remove from his burger. He had asked for 'extra cheese' but there was barely any on it. I would try this place again, because I can't help but think it must be good due to the reviews and also the piri piri shrimp was so good. I truly believe it was just an off night. Perhaps if our original waitress didn't leave we wouldn't have had so many issues.

Friends and I went to their first ever Easter Sunday Breakfast Buffet. It was amazing. The food was very tasty. Most breakfast buffets have scrambled eggs and they are generally pretty bland, but these ones were very good. They had tons of food available and a great selection to choose from. The food available on the menu is always awesome and the buffet definitely didn't disappoint. This is one of our very favorite restaurants for breakfast and dinner. It's woth the 45 minute drive from where we live. Highly recommend you try out this restaurant.

Tonight I had a wonderful scallop and shrimp alfredo fettuccine, tasty and fresh, served with garlic toast...my sister had the baked chicken and thoroughly enjoyed her choice as well..Both dishes were beautifully presented. We both went home with a take out container as the servings are huge. Our waitress was spot on from beginning til end. Beautiful super clean washrooms.

Ordered mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving. I received 2 medium trays of MASHED POTATOES. Came out to be $108!! Idc how many servings it is, I'm getting "potatoes", 2 medium trays for $108? That is utterly outrageous. I did pay it since I had family over for Thanksgiving but I'll never be ordering here again. Unacceptable to be charging over $100 For 2 medium trays of mashed potatoes. Even if someone was aware, still doesn't change the fact that it is outrageous that you charge $108 for 2 medium trays of POTATOES!

So glad I found this gem! Never been to Chatham before (here for work) and was craving steak. I wasn't very confident I would find a decent spot - but boy was I wrong. Grest food, value and service. I'll definitely be coming back for the chicken this week. I got the strip (half eaten here lol), with double veg and a ceaser salad to go. Ordered it rare and it was a perfect med-rare by the time I got back to the hotel.

Drove 1 hour from London Ontario with my wife and two children. Arrived at 1:30 to find the doors locked.Since it was scheduled to be open 2:00 pm two I called the restaurant from my cell phone while standing at the front door. I was told that the doors were locked as they were to busy and closed early so they could get out on time! I explained that I had come in from London. The lady on the phone mentioned in a low voice to some one standing near her that "there were some folks outside and they had driven from London". The person answered her and said no just tell tell them there's a private function or something going on. Apparently there is zero regard for the customer. Did I mention absolutely zero regard for the customer! I wonder what the fire code bylaws in Chatham say about locking the doors in a busy restaurant at least a half hour possibly longer before closing time. Did you ever consider how panicked people would leave in case of a fire. Zero regard for the customer!

This place is definitely on my list of favorite Portuguese restaurants. I had the 6 oz Beef a Casa ( House Steak) , paired with a beautiful Super Bock. The steak was cooked to perfection and I would recomend it medium rare so you get extra gravy on the plate for the delicious fries. I stopped in for lunch to which I would suggest that you come before 12 as it gets packed quick. Ill finish by mentioning that this was all served by a beautiful and friendly staff that made the experience all the more satisfying. As always, dont forget to tip your waitstaff. Cheers!

Been here twice. Have to say this place is incredible. Better than any sit down restaurant I have been to from Windsor to London. The flavours and portion sizes are great. The service sends slow but then you have to relax and chill out... and remember you are in a sit down restaurant and just enjoy the ambience. Or food was hot, fresh and worth any wait. Valentines dinner was awful... the set menu was underwhelming to say the least. We should have done what everyone else did, walked in, looked at the menu and promptly walked out. If you like your filet minion with cheese and raw shrimp on it, this is the place for you! But if you’re looking for cooked food, I’d highly suggest staying home and ordering a pizza. It’s pretty bad when you think the vegetables are going to be your saving grace of the meal, only to find you can’t get your fork in them because they are just as raw as the shrimp that came on your steak. $125 plus tip, so closer to $200, to be left hungry and actually calling other restaurants from their parking lot to try and salvage your romantic evening with a dessert from anywhere else. Disappointed, broke and hungry is not the way I was expecting to be feeling after our romantic dinner out. We will not be returning in the future.

AMAZING!!!! First time coming here was on Saturday!!! I am beyond impressed! We got the calamari and the red pepper dip with sweet potato chips to start! The dip was delicious and such a huge portion! 2 of us shared the chicken and ribs dinner. It was amazing! I'm glad we shared because we still had left overs! Our server was fantastic (I believe his name was Felipe?? Sorry, I'm awful with names). We had an issue where we left and didn't realize till after the restaurant was closed that one of our gift certificates wasn't applied and we overpaid. Called the manager today and they had already known about the situation. It was an honest mistake due to the restaurant being super busy! The manager was so awesome with the situation. We will definitely be back!!

Great food ,great service! Would highly recommend!! We all had something differant and everything was delish! Just check hours of operation before you go. They do shut down between lunch and dinner. Enjoy!
