Out of all the coffee shops I've visited in PEI during the Covid-era, this one has succeeded at doing something that few others have: maintaining a sense of normalcy. All of the public health guidelines are in place without detracting from creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. If you're looking for a coffee shop to study, relax and enjoy yourself at despite the circumstances, this is the one I'd recommend without hesitation.

Coffee was very very darkly roasted and burnt tasting. If your looking for lighter more third wave style coffee hit receiver down the street. Donut was cold and stored in a refrigerated case could, it was probably good when it was fresh. Not really one for leaving bad reviews so I gave 3 stars. Trendy looking little shop just not a third wave coffee shop.

I can't say enough good things about Kettle Black. Superb coffee, tasty food, and excellent service. I had them cater a business meeting for me with coffee and cookies/treats and they exceeded every expectation. In particular, the manager Taher was great to deal with in terms of arranging the details of the catering. Would recommend.

My go to Charlottetown coffee shop for a while now. They've recently starting offering crepes made to order which is a nice touch. Nice atmosphere and better seating than at the Starbucks down the street.

Without question the worst blueberry pancakes i've ever had! Not only were they not cooked fully, but they took about 35 minutes and when they were FINALLY served... they were cold. Ps. throwing blueberries on top of plain pancakes does not equal blueberry pancakes ???? definitely don't recommend and will not be back!!

Very nice coffee shop with expertly served hot beverages and a very tasty selection of food in a beautiful cozy setting. We went there for breakfast and morning coffee. I had their coconut date square and a falafel wrap (yes... falafel for breakfast, they serve lunch items anytime) and an americano. My buddy had a salmon bagel with a cappuccino. Everything was delicious, fresh and the portions were great for the price we paid. I definitely recommend this place for a good coffee and a quick bite.

I would call this a "pretty good" experience. Had breakfast sandwiches and coffees - flat white for me, mocha for my husband. The sandwiches were dripping gobs of red pepper aoli, they were kind of over-sauced, but the egg inside was nicely cooked. Could have used some sort of breakfast meat (maybe as an add-on). The coffees were quite good, with very pretty latte art (my local coffee shop - where I spend entirely too much money - does latte art but never, it seems, for me). The barista was friendly and fairly quick. The decor was cute and funky, love that they roast their own coffee on site - there was a bag there that had been roasted the day before. Not too busy, but I'm sure that's different in the summer. I might go back, but I don't know if I'd say it was my top choice in Charlottetown.

During my visit to Charlottetown in August, this is the only place I got coffee! Best tasting coffee downtown, and at the most affordable too. The breakfast sandwiches are always made from scratch and are completely stacked! The Kettle Black is only a minutes walk from anywhere downtown and the wharf.

Came here because of the high google review. But the coffee and snacks were way below my expectation. I was hoping my "fog latte" was referring to London Fog but it tasted like milk with hot water. My friends did not like their coffee as well. But the atmosphere and seatings are comfy and chill. So if you're looking for a nice study spot, this is the place.

Had the rough experience of visiting this place. One of the baristas(with longer hair and a scruffy beard) made my americano. The drink was awful, as was the seating. The tables outside were tilting all over the place and the tables inside were sticky. All the other baristas seemed very pleasant, but it was this one who served me who seemed very unhappy to be there. Started throwing cups of water on the ground around customers to mop later ????

Kettle Black offers some of the best food items in the downtown. You'll notice that the prices are a bit on the high side but every penny is worth it. I've had the breakfast wrap: Egg, hashbrown, peppers, onion and cheese wrapped tightly in a white flour tortilla - absolutely delicious... the wraps are fresh, ingredients just as fresh and the flavor is fantastic. I've been a repeat customer for their Falafel wrap: Housemade falafel, red onion, romaine, herbs, dressing and feta cheese - fantastic flavours..... The only criticism I have for Kettle is something that's really beyond their control...Their kitchen is only staffed with one person which makes order times a bit long. But I have a solution for you, call your order ahead to save the wait, it is worth it believe me. The guy that staffs their kitchen is awesome, knows what he's doing and does it with a big smile, give em a wave and thank him before you leave with what I guarentee will be fantastic food. I'm a regular now thanks to their skilled kitchen guy and equally awesome Barista staff, keep up the good work!

It was an old standby when wondering where to have lunch, but these changes they've made won't have me dawning their door very often anymore. I entered this cafe with high hopes. Inside, the atmosphere was lovely and the music was great. The menu looked promising. I ordered a Nutella latte, which was great, along with a grilled cheese sandwich. After about a 35 minute wait, I received what looked (and tasted) like two pieces of bread smooshed together and microwaved for 10 seconds. It was cold. Sure, go to enjoy a warm drink. I would not suggest eating here.

(Translated) I had the "loaded veggie sandwich" and the taste of vinegar outweighed the rest. I fell in love with this place when I came here 5 years ago and it is unfortunately not up to my memories. There is nothing fruity / sweet for lunch. Very good coffee and nice decor. J'avais eu un coup de foudre pour cet endroit quand je suis venue il y a 5 ans et ce n'est malheureusement pas à la hauteur de mes souvenirs. Il n'y a plus rien de fruité/un peu sucré pour le déjeuner. Très bon café et décor agréable.

Coffee is good, and it's a lovely place to sit and work but the food is inconsistent at best. My order took forever and wasn't correct. They offered to remake right away though. The last time I was here the kitchen closed (randomly) at like 1:30 and I couldn't even order. Had a great experience when I was here back in May though, so I'm torn. I WANT to love this spot. Hope I can revise this rating soon...

8.50 for one slice of cheesecake and it took 3 attempts to order 3 hot chocolates, from a condescending server. Coffee was average.Will not be coming back.

Bitter, watered down coffee. Food was of poor quality and stuck to wrapping paper, renderiny it impossible to eat. Staff was unfriendly.
