Fabulous lobster rolls

Yummy!

Great lobster! Super friendly staff!

Great lobster rolls! Around 17 dollars for one.

Lobster rolls were good but way too expensive.

First lobster roll for me and it was the best !!!!

Best lobster rolls in Charlottetown

We went for the classic cold lobster roll - delicious! Great location on the waterfront.

I've never had a lobster roll quite like theirs. Their special recipe is definitely something I'll be having again during my next visit to PEI. Better than the original!

The rolls are delicious totally recommend it! The price it's what makes me give it 4 stars

(Translated) The lobster is absolutely divine, it's very very good, I really recommend this restaurant bravo to them (Original) Le homard est absolument divin, c'est très très bon, je recommande vraiment ce restau bravo à eux

Good food, great place!

The lobster roll was good but price is a little too much for such a portion.

While it was only my second lobster roll ever, it was the best!! Sunny patio was a bonus too!

Definitely overpriced, but lobster taco is good!

Amazing lobster rolls!

Nom nom nom! Delicious! You get so much lobster in the rolls here! We tried one elsewhere, more expensive and half the lobster. At Dave's you get a tonne of lobster and it's super tasty. My husband ordered the classic and I ordered the warm one, we ate half and switched. I preferred the warm, it was warm and buttery with a bit of lemon, just scrumptious. My husband couldn't pick he liked both, the cold wasn't overwhelmed with dressing, allowing you to still taste the lobster.

Very clean and sterile atmosphere. Simple is best sometimes. Although the food was good tasting their isn't much variation and the price for the portion sizes is kind of expensive. Unfortunately I went elsewhere after to fill the void in the hungry stomach.

Had a half and half lobster roll and it was very tasty. Different pace of life out here vs. Ontario so be prepared for everything to take 3 times as long.

Lobster roll and lobster tacos were delicious. Not cheap, but lobster never is. Only non-lobster option is grilled cheese and hotdog.

Its a bit overrated. It okay nothing special .

Great lobster rolls and Dave's does not shy away from the lobster or butter! The staff were friendly and awesome. Also Great local beers on tap, my favourite was the pale ale and the blueberry beer for hotter drier days! Enjoy!

Not very friendly service. If you can't say hello, muster a smile, or ask "how are you" then maybe the service industry isn't for you. Food was decent enough, although not the best lobster roll of which I've had many this summer. Not very hard to find a better one across PEI.

Excellent lobster rolls. A little pricy but the quality of food justifies it. It is a great place for a quick quality meal.

I liked the bun and the ratio of lobster to bread. I got half and half. I liked the buttery side better though it did seem a bit salty.

Great tasting well garnished lobster rolls. The grill cheese had sharp cheddar and hot dog was a very tasty smoked sausage. Certainly a place to stop when visiting Charlottetown!

Good food annd service but not too many options. Good for lobster roll with gluten free bun

Best gluten free lobster rolls I've ever had!!

We had a delicious lobster roll ad Dave's.

Not fantastic. The food is edible but you're walking into a tourist trap. It's 28 dollars for a small lobster roll and small bag of chips. There are better places to go locally.

Great grilled cheese. Decent value.

It was dead inside when we dropped by so we got our orders in and food out pretty quickly. I got the Half and Half. The "Some Fancy" side was so good and I'd go back just to eat that. The other side, which was "The Local" was decent and I actually enjoyed the addition of celery. But the reason my rating is lower is that I kept finding shell bits/hard bits in my lobster meat. Obviously it hadn't been cleaned properly before being shipped to Dave's. Biting down on those bits was very off putting and definitely brought the entire experience down. Perhaps this batch of lobster meat was just a lower quality one who knows. I would go back to eat there again, but it wouldn't be my first choice in town for lobster rolls.

Very good lobster roll in three sizes. The mediums were more than adequate, with plenty of lobster, sweet and fresh. There is nothing fancy about Dave's but its primary product is what it is all about, you get choices on size and preparation and there was beer to wash it down! Superb! You could pay less, and most likely get less, and you easily could pay more without being any happier. Dave's is all about lobster rolls ... And there is little more I could desire!

Amazing grilled cheese! Absolutely recommend if you are there!

This wasn't my first visit to Dave's Lobster. Last time I was there was around 4 years ago and it still tastes the same. A nice warm roll with hot and cold lobster. I got the split option. Half the local and some fancy. Tasted great. Always good. Also try the Anne of Green Cables Raspberry Cordial drink. Great drink.

Second best lobster rolls (Alma Lobster Shop N.B. being the best) I've eaten. What was great at Dave's was that you could get two different types of lobster roll in one the traditional cold Lobster with mayonnaise and the second a hot Lobster cooked in butter all on the same sandwich. Only other option on the menu was a grilled cheese sandwich which my wife being the land lover had it and she said it was delicious. If cost is a factor Dave's have three options for lobster rolls all based on market prices for lobster.

I dream about the "Some Fancy" lobster roll that I ate here! This was the roll with warm, buttered lobster. Amazing! My only regret is not eating two.

Great lobster rolls, good service, good value. A must try, especially the Half and Half (big) roll. Delicious.

Great food, moderately priced, and the staff is always friendly. You can get a grilled cheese combo for $8 that easily feeds two (two grilled cheese sandwiches, a can of soda, and a bag of chips (numerous soda & chip options).

Delicious but just a bit nervy to request a tip when its over the counter service.

Good bread. Balanced temperature for the lobster. However. Price is high for what it is.

We found this place on a travel vlog because we were in search of a Lobster roll that is hot not cold. It was the best!!!!

Excellent lobster roll, warm and buttery with a few spices to complement the meat. Only thing I would have changed was the portion size was a bit lacking, especially for the price.

We were visiting from the US and was checking "lobster rolls" off our list... This place was a severely overpriced dump! Service was horrible... Rude early 20 something's who knew nothing about customer service. We had to ask for our chips and pop. As for the sandwiches... Not worth the money we paid for them. The bread was dry... The lobster was cooked well but there was little flavor. The pickle was about the size of a skinny celery stick cut into 1/4ths... Save your money and go somewhere else because Dave's is just overpriced hype.

Yummy lobster in a roll.

The warm lobster roll and the grilled cheese were my favorites. So succulent and meaty. So much flavour. So oily. So buttery. So freaken GOOD.

Very impressed! My girlfriend and I are currently in the middle of a bicycle trip from Moncton to Halifax. Being tired yesterday night, we ended up picking a hotel too far from downton... (or so we realized a bit late) but when we called in to ask if they (by any chance) delivered... the manager took the phone and she offered to come deliver it herself as an exception! woww... I'm so glad we asked... The food tastes way beyond anything we normally expect from lobster... we just wish there was more cause it's SO GOOD!!! Thanks again for your kindness!!!! Hien and Michel from Montreal

Best lobster roll in Charlottetown

Best lobster rolls on the island, quite simply.

Yummy.

I liked it a lot. The fancy is a great lobster roll for someone who wants a lobster dinner in a bun, whereas the classic is best for a lighter meal.

Specializes in lobster rolls and the quality shows. Large chunks of lobster meat wrap around in a yummy flatbread that makes it easy to eat the roll without creating too much of a mess. Picturesque location by peakes wharf by the water. Sunshine, the water, live music and a lobster roll, nothing better to experience island life. Friendly service.

All my daughter wanted for her 10th bday was a yummy lobster roll so we headed here for the patio space with our dog. Very tasty! Enjoyed the lobster roll/ chips/ beverage combo. Just wish there was a bit more shelter and a patio heater as we had to sit outside and temps dropped to 12-14C after the rain. Impressed with the bun (good quality grilled big sausage type bun with butter. Can always take more lobster ???? but hey, it’s not in season in Sept and $$. Expect to pay $20 for PEI lobster rolls this time of year, seems steep but market prices are high right now. We didn’t get a side pickle so maybe we didn’t order the same as the other reviewer from three weeks ago. It was totally worth it anyway. YUM! p.s. Thanks for the water bowl for the pooch! ???? ❤️

Excellent sandwiches. Portions could be bigger

Came all the way from Ethiopia. . Was not disappointed. ..food was delicious. Place was clean. . Design is simple. .a perfect business.

Food is ok but overpriced. Service adequate at best, the staff are young people who clearly have better places they'd like to be. Atmosphere is lacking, the decor is sterile and the furniture is cheap. The music playing in the background was excellent.

Awesome lobster made fresh in front of you.

Small portions for $20, no drink included (it came with a bag of chips though), and rather bland tasting. The seating was comfortable.

My brother and I stopped here for a coffee when we were on the Island, after our mother's funeral. We just needed a quiet, low key place to chat for an hour or so. This place provided it. They probably never guessed how much we appreciated their unobtrusive service. It was exactly what we needed at that moment. **UPDATE** A year and a half has passed since the funeral, and I still remember with gratitude the quiet afternoon my brother and I spent here, chatting about life.

Great take out or dine in spot with a patio on the wharf!

Lobster Taco was amazing! Has just the right amount of heat to it

Great lobsters rolls!

Delicious food

We tried every lobster roll in the area, and this was by far the best. We searched long and hard to top it, with no luck. Will definitely be back!

Expensive... but hit the spot!

Excellent lobster rolls. I ordered the half and half combo and was not disappointed. A small selection of beers on tap. Friendly service. Wish I had found this place earlier in my stay in PEI as I had been disappointed with previous lobster rolls around PEI.

Lots of lobster & flavor

My husband and I split 2 Lobster rolls. We shared "The Local" (cold Lobster) and "Some Fancy" (warmed Lobster). The warmed one was excellent - this was our favourite!! The cold one was not very good. My hubby found it unsettling; I found it just slightly unpleasant. The larger chunks of celery in it did it no favours either. The staff were friendly, considerate, and helpful!

Very good customer service and rolls ????

Yum!!

This latest iteration of the Peakes Quay circus is a bit much. The operators report a big increase in business/foot traffic since moving. I guess families with children would enjoy the bustle and the crowds. Certainly not as good as other lobster rolls. Lots of lobster but overcooked and dry.

The best lobster roll!!

Best lobster roll around

Service was great, but the celery in "the local" was incredibly overpowering. For 21 dollars, I would have expected better. Nice chips though.

Excellent lobster roll shack that has GF buns. Grilled cheese or hot dogs are available for the kids.

Best lobster rolls! We just can't help but come every time we are in Charlottetown!!

A good, regular lobster roll. Came in a hot dog bun stuffed with a decent amount of lobster with butter and lemon.

Nice chunky lobster rolls new England style

Delicious lobster rolls

(Translated) Nice location (Original) Belle emplacement

Good food.

Having been raised in New England, I have had many lobster rolls in my day. This place serves up lobster rolls exactly as they should be - soft yet crispy buttery bread roll, fresh and perfectly cooked lobster with dressing and butter that doesn't overpower and lets the flavour of the lobster shine through. Get the half-and-half if you can't decide between cold or warm; you won't be disappointed!

I had a poor experience initially, but the owner of the venue contacted me and corrected the issue. I respect that he takes pride in his business.

Delicious but very confusing menue!

ITS THAT GOOD!!!

My fiancé and I stopped by this morning and had half &half (he had gluten free). It was really good! The lobster was cooked just right and the seasonings complemented the lobster very well. We both preferred the "some fancy" which was warm and in a lemony butter sauce. It was a good find amidst the rainy day we've had today.

Definitely a tourist trap. Paid $16 for a lobster grilled cheese and it was essentially a hotdog buns with subpar cheese melted with 4 pieces of lobster. I would've paid $8 for it

Overpriced, small-portion lobster rolls which came with a side of coleslaw. Nothing special about the food. Place is clean and service is friendly and fast.

Ripoffs!!! I ordered the “Really Friggin Big” size (large) and my wife ordered the “Bigger” size (medium) and her’s had more lobster meat. When I asked why I got less meat even though I paid for the largest size, I was just simply told “you got the right amount”. Terrible!!!! Didn’t expect this from any merchant from PEI which is otherwise paradise on earth with the nicest people. Avoid this place at all cost. Oh an the Lobster Taco tastes stale.

I had the 'some fancy' and my gawd - it was heavenly. The little pickle they snuck on the side was one of the best I've had. My friends on the other hand shared a 'half and half'. The cold half is wayyyyyyy too salty. Like almost 50% more salt than the some-fancy. Edit: I think this may help some of you - the difference between large and medium is the amount put on the bun. However they use the same sized bun. You might not see a difference visually but you can definitely tell by the weight!

So delicious!

The service was good but food was definitely overpriced. Lobster rolls from $17 to $25. Overcooked and way too salty.

A bit pricey but the food is great. I love the pickle they add on the side, I wonder where they got that cuz I’d wanna buy some too ????

Best lobster roll in PEI!

The lobster roll was yummy, warm buttery bread with a generous amount of lobster for the price. I got the half and half like other reviewers suggested. Just FYI, half of it will be warm and the other half cold (purposely). I suggest taking your lobster roll to go and eating it outside along the river! :)
