Love this place! Had a wonderful gluten free experience here 8 years ago, and was excited to visit again on this vacation. Visited again a few days ago and had just as an amazing experience as before. The staff are amazing - wonderful and take gluten free food very seriously. The food portions are big and amazing. Plus, gluten free fried pickles?? Yes please!!

It is a legit place. Not so busy but serving was pretty slow and took almost an hour to have cod and haddock fish and chips. Staff were very kind and tried to serve as soon as possible. Cod is better than Haddock to me. Fish chowder is incredibly good, not so creamy and I loved it except the pieces of cracker (tasted rather dry and not new one). My boy loved cheese sticks and wondered if they made them by themselves or got from markets. Just curious ????

Sadly spent almost $60 on 2 fish and chip dinners to find them the farthest from British style I have ever eaten. The fries where shoestring and extremely over cooked. The only good part was the size of the fish servings , the sad part of the fish was how greasy it was. No lemon for the fish and way over priced. Save your $$ and go somewhere else. Very disappointed.

Had the signature haddock fish and chips, and lobster chowder. This is the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Batter was perfect and I could have it by itself. The chips wasn't really impressive but it did it's job to complement the fish. Lobster chowder wasn't anything impressive but they are really generous with the lobster.

Huge portions, fantastic food, and real great service. The fish and chips are worth every penny. Huge fillets. I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled across the place. The prices are moderate but considering the amount of good food you get for the price its well worth your time. Me and my boyfriend both left feeling full and beyond satisfied and even had enough take home for supper.

If you go to PEI you must visit Brit fish and chips in Charlottetown! Now I admit I don't care for fish so I found other things to eat. My husband and I shared, we had deep fried dill pickles, chicken strips and fries... Then a pineapple fritter (deep fried pineapple ring) for dessert! All these items were made gluten free!!

Exactly as the name suggests has the feel of a British pub. The Manager served us as it seemed his staff had not made it in yet so he was busy and made a few ordering mistakes but sent us out a free fish to make up for it. The local craft beer was good, however the food was just ok.

We had ordered 2, 1 piece haddock and chips for take out. It was just fair. Pieces were big but thin and batter was tasteless. Tartar sauce was crappy from a jar. Was pricey for the amount and quality. There are way better Fishn chips in Charlottetown.

In June 2018 my wife, daughter and I stopped in for lunch on our last day on PEI. I didn't have fish, so I had chicken, but both my wife and daughter did. We all enjoyed our meals and I felt they were reasonably priced. The service was also very good. I would visit again if I'm ever back on PEI.

We enjoyed weekday specials of fries with the works (on beefy fries), and 1 pc. fish & chips (with just enough batter that didn't hide the fresh, tasty haddock). Ample sized portions were good value. Best gluten free fish I've had. Service was amazing and food fantastic. They have a separate fryer for gluten free and are extra careful if you let them know you have celiac disease. It's so nice to find both good service and safe food when travelling. If we return to PEI this will be our first stop!

Chips (french fries) can be replaced with other menus. I'm Garlic Mash De Potato. (Original) Burger도 맛있지만, 전통영국식의 피쉬앤칩을 맛볼수 있음. Deep fried되서 바삭바삭한 튀김과 안에 부드러운 생선맛을 맛 볼수 있음. 생선종류는 4가지인가 있었음. 칩(감자튀김)을 다른 메뉴로 교체할 수도 있음. 전 갈릭매쉬드포테이토로 함.

Although the fish itself was decent, the chips were soggy and tasted like the oil in the frier was rancid and/or burnt. I was unable to finish them and when I mentioned this to the waitress she offered a mere, 'sorry'. Overall, I was quite disappointed with Brits. I'd been told this was 'the' place to have fish and chips in Ch'town, but I wouldn't go back. Nor would I recommend the place to anyone else.

Had lunch July 10th - Haddock & Chips and my partner had bacon wrapped scallops and the largest onion rings I've ever seen. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. This place is great for fish and chip! The portions are huge, 1 filet is the entire slice of fish. Unless you are insanely hungry, 1 order will feed 2. The batter was crispy and thin, perfectly crunchy on the outside and yummy moist fish on the inside. You have the standard option of Haddock, Sole, Cod or Halibut. I personally did not like the chowder, nothing wrong with the taste but their version is filled with chunky vegetables and I prefer a creamy soup chowder. Overall, this place is great though!

Further to response from owner. The price of Halibut is not the issue. However, if I am going to be charged $125 for two orders of Fish and chip along with a pop or coffee, tax and tip I don't want to be seated outside in the dead of winter. And under no circumstances should ketchup be served freezing cold. Saying sorry isn't enough. Imagine this, a piping hot turkey Christmas dinner and then you are given ice cold, freezing cold gravy. Well that's what I received when I was handed a freezing cold bottle of ketchup. They apologized. I sat by the front door and every time the door opened it was like being outside. Again, they apologized. No compensation only contrition. If you want real fish and chips, with halibut, you're looking at $45 for one person before tip. For this price everything better be perfect. I've eaten at this place before and the food has been very dark suggesting they do not change the oil often enough. Finally, the place is not very clean. If you and your date are prepared to spend over $100 for fish and chips at this place I suggest you think twice.

The servings are more then enough. The staff are worm and helpful. You don't wait long for your food. If you order double fish portions. Your in for a food battle royal. I had no chance of finishing my double portion of fish. Not a full time resident of Charlottetown. But it's my go to fish and chip place when l"m visiting family about 3 times a year. What could make this place better. A bigger selection of craft beers. A great place to sit down and spend time with family.

Wow... I'm not sure how this could be better. To start the service was perfect. Most attentive waiter since beginning our 4 day PEI trip involving many restaurants. The food was next level. Huge options of delicious fare. 3 different types of battered fish and many fish and non fish choices. All five people were thoroughly impressed. I will be back!

The 7-day Tour East Bus trip that I'm traveling on stopped here; we have 50 tourists in our group. It's a meal stop so only a quickie review. The $325 meal plan includes 6 lunches and 6 dinners of which this restaurant is one of the venues. This downtown Charlottetown eatery location is beautiful and clean. The British style set entree of (haddock) fish and chips (from PEI’s south shore in China Point by the Murphy family) was excellent as well as the service. Delicious! There’s table, booth as well as sidewalk patio seating plus high chairs for young children. Free WiFi is available. At least 500,000 people visit this province annually; five times more than the whole population of PEI.

We've stopped here all 3 times we have visited the island. Amazing staff and the fish & chips and club sandwich were awesome! Last time I tried the salmon and it was really great too! Only criticism on THIS visit only was that the gravy was a bit lumpy but still tasted really good. Anytime we visit C.town this is a necessary stop.

Used to go once a week as the fish & chips was top notch. Then the last couple times there was issues with the food, whether it be cold fries or soggy fish...I find it quality really varies depending on the staff. Some have been spot on every time, others not so much. Once I sat down I overheard the neighbouring seat complaining about their food and how they weren't paying for something (didn't catch what). I ordered the cod anyway. Cod came out and was a large portion but you could clearly see it was covering the black burnt fries..when I addressed it, a mere sorry was all that was offered. I guess I'm sorry I won't be going back for a while, again.

Must go and enjoy when in PEI. This is our second time there and we always get surpirsed with the portions. We only ordered the single. Thank you for yet again one of the best fish n chips we ever had. We also had bacon wrapped scallops. Mouth watering tender little peices of heaven that melt in your mouth....yah i enjoyed them. These were done just right. I promise you you will be surprised with the portions and they will not disappoint. Also enjoy sitting outside.

The lobster in the poutine wasn't the freshest (which is inexcusable in PEI), and the staff forgot three items from our order. They apologized and brought our missing food towards the end of our meal but then offered to take it off our bill, which was nice. Unfortunately they must have forgotten because they ended up charging us the full amount. "Okay" is the best way to describe our experience at this restaurant.

Had the signature haddock fish and chips, and lobster chowder. This is the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Batter was perfect and I could have it by itself. The chips wasn't really impressive but it did it's job to complement the fish. Lobster chowder wasn't anything impressive but they are really generous with the lobster.

Had the haddock. Huge fish portions and crispy batter. The one piece menu price looks expensive, but it's a full meal. I've had 2pc fish elsewhere that had less fish than the 1pc here. Nice to have thick cut fries. Also lighter options like pan seared, which my wife had and loved. Service was good, and the place is charming and friendly. Overall, exactly what a great fish and chips place should be.

We were super disappointed with our meal and experience, especially given we were told it was the best in town by local islanders. We’re not sure if it’s because the original place was sold, or what, but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. It started off by our waitress who didn’t know how to make a Caesar drink and admitted she’d have to look it up. We were sat across from the bar so we could see everything. She was getting guidance from another waiter (they both appeared to have to make their own drinks as there was no bartender). Once getting the drink, we had to ask for ice, and so our waitress walks over to the bar, grabs the ice scoop and tries to poor ice into the drink at the table. She realizes it might start to splash, and then decides to bring the drink to the bar to add the ice. For food we ordered 1pc halibut with fries and calamari appetizer with sweet potatoes fries. We were hoping to order the “calamari platter” entree that is on the menu online, but it wasn’t available to order in the restaurant which is why we ordered the calamari appetizer and side of sweet potato fries to make our second meal. Honestly-we really wanted to like the food but it wasn’t very good. We had to ask for the “garlic sauce” that was supposed to come with the calamari, but wasn’t plated when it came to the table. The calamari tasted like it was cooked from frozen and/or flash fried. The kicker was that the sweet potato fries were clearly bagged and cooked from frozen and cost $11.00!!!!!!!!! $11.00!!!!! The fish tasted like the oil from the fryer. I’ve had better fish and chips from restaurants in Ontario. All-in-all we will not be returning. We hope it was a one-off, but not sure that it was.

In from Indy and found this place on Google search. We love to eat at local places, especially ones like this place. The food was great, the atmosphere as well. The staff was amazing, our waiter Moe was patient with us and while we dined a couple came by with their pup to dine. As they sat outside getting ready to order, he was very attentive to the dog and even went in and brought the pup some water to enjoy. This is great service, I would recommend to anyone who is from out of town looking for a casual place to eat! We hope to make our way back this way some day!

Absolutely 5+ stars! I am a big fun of onion rings and I had the best onion rings ever at Brits Fish and Chips(only learned about it’s a British style restaurant from other reviews). The portions are huge and the batter is just perfect. My wife had pan fried choice of fish and a large salad so it’s still good for someone who wants to cut calories. I wish I lived in Charlottetown so I could go there on a regular basis!! Highly recommended for who will have a visit to PEI. Nothing could be better than enjoying a good meal while traveling!

Great onion rings but I’m convinced the lobster tacos are canned lobster. Soaked in water, no flavour and very stringy, and one of the most expensive things on the menu. I highly doubt MR Seafood wants their name associated with that.
